It's rare to come across someone who can provide such exceptional customer service under pressure, but Tierra made it look effortless. I have heard about this place and have seen the lines out the door waiting to be seated. I knew this place was a hot spot and I have always wanted to try it. We came on a Sunday when they were booked and busy. If you are willing to wait an hour or two to be seated then you should try it out, otherwise make a reservation in advance. Once we were seated we were told that we can scan the QR plated code that was on the table for the menu. They have a lot to choose from to order so you won't be disappointed. Our server's name was Jay and he was very polite and friendly. He even gave us a little history about the restaurant (hours they are open/closed, how long the restaurant has been in business etc). We really appreciated the conversation. I ordered their seafood gumbo for an appetizer and the Mississippi Catfish for my entree. My husband opted for the Country Fried Chicken Biscuit. The seafood gumbo was plentiful and my husband and I shared. The roux was amazing, and the gumbo portion was just right. I loved the sausage, crawfish, crab, rice and shrimp. My catfish fillets were fried perfectly and tasted very delicious although they were a little small. The mac n cheese was divine and the collard greens were succulent. I cleaned my plate and left no crumbs. My husband enjoyed his dish and cleaned his plate as well. I would love to come back when it's less busy but then you will need to fight traffic to get here (unless you are a little closer to the location). I cannot rave enough about Toast on Lenox. I was visiting the area and looking for a good breakfast spot when this place came up with great reviews, and now I completely understand why. I didn't really plan ahead and was hoping to get seated quickly, but when we arrived around 10:30 to 10:45 there was already about a 20 minute wait. Honestly, I figured it had to be worth it, and with a lot of other places not even opening until 11, it made more sense to stay. One thing I really appreciated was that they take your phone number so you can wait in your car since there isn't a ton of room inside. They quoted us about 20 minutes and texted us after around 22, so the wait time was super accurate. Our server was incredibly sweet even though the restaurant was busy, which definitely stood out. The inside is quaint and cozy. It's not huge, but it absolutely has the kind of atmosphere you want for brunch. I will also say the bar seating is kind of like Russian roulette because seats kept randomly opening while we were there, so if you're lucky you might get in quicker that way. Now to the food because THAT is the reason to come here. I got the fried snapper and it did not disappoint at all. The greens were amazing, the rice that came with it was flavorful, and everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. I also got a gin drink that was so good. We tried the banana foster French toast too, and that was absolutely worth it. My friend ordered something closer to a traditional American breakfast and immediately said he wished he had gotten something more unique like my dish. Every time I visit Atlanta, I hear people talk about this place, so on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. I decided to pull up to Toast on Lenox in Buckhead to finally see what the hype was about. It was already packed, and there was a wait even though brunch had barely started. I grabbed the only open seat at the bar and tried to order a drink, but they do not serve alcohol until 11:00 a.m. That alone tells you the food must be good because the place was full before anyone could even order a cocktail. This location had the Biscoff French toast, and I am a huge Biscoff lover, so I had to try it since it was their featured French toast. It did not disappoint at all. It was delicious. After 11:00am. I ordered a cold brew cocktail with Kahlúa Baileys and Jameson. It was also really good. The entire space is aesthetically pleasing and perfect for taking photos. Came here out of town from Houston on a Friday in Aug 2026. I made reservations for 11am and walked in about 1057am and was seated right away. I had no issue with the host. The place is very small and tables too close together even the bar area looks squeezed in. Also I had no issue finding parking in the free parking lot. Our server was nice and attentive and she provided refills at the right time no issues with the service. I have 2 main issues...the food quality and the auto tip. The auto tip I feel only happens at black owned places even in my home city if Houston it is the same thing only black owned places do this practice which I despise. Next the food quality this is an overhyped Instagram tiktok type of place I ordered a side of honey butter biscuits and main entrée was the shrimp and grits. The honey butter biscuits were like KFC biscuits with a honey butter glaze over it (they are kinda dry and jam would be better with them instead of honey butter sauce). The shrimp and grits the entire thing was bland and was lukewarm as well. The sauce of the shrimp and grits had absolutely no taste , the shrimp itself was a tad better but it was in need of cajun seasoning ASAP, the grits were actually good but it was barely any grits the grits were like a small cup spread out on a larger dish (not enough grits for the cost of this dish). I walked away feeling cheated food was nasty with an auto tip. The chef needs to take inspiration from the following places also in the south Nice Guys NOLA (salmon and grits) , Ruby Slipper NOLA (shrimp and grits) , Biscuits and Buns NOLA (shrimp and grits), BB Tex Orleans Houston ( shrimp and grits) , and Brennan's of Houston (shrimp and grits) all of these ones listed are flavorful. If they could fix the heat distribution, I'd recommend giving it a try. The Kale Caesar Salad is absolutely delicious, and the salmon is juicy, tender, and full of flavor. And on a separate occasion, I ordered the Fried Catfish and grits, 10/10 recommend. The Salmon cakes are served with a garlicy aioli, fluffy eggs, and creamy, cheesy grits with a crisp arugula salad on the side. This dish also comes highly recommended. I also want to speak about the French toast. The French toast is delicious; I had it served with powdered sugar and berries. Now this isn't on the menu, but you can get it altered. The drinks are FIRE! I've had a little of everything and haven't been let down yet! When it comes to service, I have mixed reviews, but overall, it's generally good. I have one occasion where the server wasn't as attentive. I was seated at the bar, and her main focus was on her phone. I tend not take things personally and will chalk it up to her having some personal issues.
