Such a boring presentation and taste. Blah, blah, blah...never again!

The food was mediocre at best, especially considering the prices. The biggest disappointment was dessert, which felt like something thrown together at the last minute: a few scoops of ice cream stacked on a plain slice of bread, a few banana slices on the side, some chocolate syrup drizzled over it, and an Oreo or two for decoration. There was nothing creative, refined, or memorable about it. For what they charge, I expected something far more thoughtful and well-executed. Instead, it felt basic, boring, and significantly overpriced. Unfortunately, the overall experience didn't justify the cost, and I left wondering where the value was supposed to be.

Food is really good and fresh. They have unique and wonderful breakfast and lunch choices. I like both a lot. I wish they had table service but the food is worth waiting to order in line for. They do bring your order to your table and then you must bus your own plates and such when you are done. They have many beverage choices too especially all different fancy coffee drinks. It has limited outdoor seating and inside is also not that large and can get loud as it is small and sort of crowded due to the delicuous food. The metal chairs are not too comfortable either so that is why I give a review score of 4. Food is a 5 star. Ambiance i would give a 4. They have delightful desserts to choose from too.

Came here for the first time, as it was on my list of places to check out for a while. First and foremost, I love the surrounding area in Montrose. Its quaint and gives that small, hometown vibe, and the cafe definitely fits in with the neighborhood. The cafe is fairly small and has a couple of waiters/waitresses, but you order before you sit down. I was extremely famished and ended up getting the Pastrami sandwich with an iced Americano. The sandwich was really good; I especially enjoyed the heavy deli mustard they put on the bread to accompany the rich pastrami. The Americano was also great; I think they use Stumptown, as it was the only whole beans I saw that were for sale. I would definitely come back when I am in the area!

Very charming spot with both indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is extensive with a mixture of savory/sweet breakfast options as well as sandwiches. I had the eggs and it was very tasty, with a side of bread. Generous on the portions. Service was great, staff with good energy.

Tried this nice cafe on a Saturday morning and ordered a latte and sandwich for dine in with a friend. Even though there was a line in front of us, the wait time was not long, the staff member in the front greeted us warmly as she took our orders. The wait time for both our drinks and sandwiches were roughly about 5-10 minutes which is very fast in my opinion and the servers who brought them out to us were kind and accommodating. There were a lot of seating available both inside and outside, depending on your preference. I ordered the BLT sandwich and really enjoyed every bit of it! The sandwich was just the right amount of crisp with the bacon, lettuce, tomato, and avocado inside to balance the entirety of the sandwich well. The latte was well made, a good blend of coffee and sweetness to pair well with the sandwich. We even ordered a chocolate chip cookie which was really yummy ~ the gooeyness of the chocolate inside melted well with the crisp outside.

What an awesome experience we had this morning at this beautiful small cafe in Montrose. Before my hair appointment we decided to pop in for some coffee and pastry and to my delight the even had Armenian coffee and panini pressed breakfast sandwiches that were crunchy and soft at the same time. The staff is so helpful and lovely. My son had a freshly baked cinnamon roll and orange juice. We both loved this place and I can't wait to come back for lunch! Everything is clean and organized and truly unique. Thank you for an awesome independently owned coffee shop that's local to us. We will definitely be stopping by again. I had a relatively good experience at this cafe in Montrose. Walking-in, I liked the cozy vibe the cafe offered. A great place to sit and chat with a friend. For drinks, I ordered the Iced Rosewater Latte and it was great! I had to order it because this cafe was heavily influenced by Armenian elements. The espresso in the latte tasted great and mixed well with the rosewater infused milk. I'm not usually a fan of floral tasting things, but this was tasty! It wasn't too strong and it was not too sweet and refreshing. For food, my friend and I shared the biscoff dessert toast and it was disappointing. For around $11, it was just 3 pieces of toast with some biscoff butter, crumbled biscoff cookies, and sliced bananas. This is something a kid can make at home, so it was really overpriced for what it was. The dessert toast itself was meh, it just didn't give a restaurant/cafe quality. Would not recommend unfortunately. Overall, a good experience despite the toast. I would come back just for the drinks and maybe the other food items.

**Rating the experience with a young child** Finally made it to Toasted! I showed my 6 year old this spot on Yelp and he had his heart set on trying the Tutti Frutti toast, so we decided to give it a shot! It does get quite crowded on a weekend, and I think they are walk-in only. You order at the counter and you find a spot to sit, which is always a bit stressful on a weekend. There were lots of spots in the sun, or tables that were on a slant, however we got super lucky and got seating on the shade. I would suggest that the restaurant should invest maybe in a couple more outdoor umbrellas though. I must say, the Tutti Frutti was MUCH better than I expected! I'm definitely glad that we got the scoops of ice cream to go with it, it just added to the fun! My son LOVED this. He said he would give this place a MILLION stars if he could :D I made him some "super" bites on a spoon where I created a concoction using all the bits that it came with (marshmallow, the toast, the Frutti pebbles, ice cream, strawberry) as he took it all in one bite. He was so mesmerized with what was going on in his palate that he just leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes, and couldn't move lol! It's definitely large and filling, so I would suggest sharing. There are so many more items that I want to try. Will definitely come back for more!

We stumbled upon this place when we were walking around the area. There is plenty of free public parking around. No need to pay for the meters. The lots are 3 hours and the metered parking has a 2 hour limit. Cute little area to wander around too. We ordered the turkey pesto sandwich, large fries, and the simply egg plate. Their bread is so good! Drinks: black iced tea and a sugar free vanilla latte. Everything was delicious! The turkey pesto sandwich was so big I had enough for dinner! They were pretty busy on a Saturday around 11:30am but we found a table inside right when we ordering. They are so incredibly friendly. There is a coded-door restroom for customers as well. They have a self serve water station with your regular hot sauces to grab if you want. We will definitely be going back - Especially, to try the coffee flight!

Came here on a sunny Saturday afternoon with my boyfriend for a quick sit down lunch. There was little to no wait time as it's set up to order, pay, and then sit at a table and wait for our order. We sat at the tables along Honolulu Ave and we people watched in the quiet morning. We ordered lattes and sandwiches. My boyfriend got the caramel latte and after trying a sip of it, I enjoyed it more than my white chocolate mocha latte. Its like I got more coffee flavor with the caramel so that'll be my next order for sure. The white chocolate mocha was good too, but it was a little too sweet for me and almost tasted candylike. I still enjoyed it though. We also got the ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches, but we both substituted the ham for bacon and the sandwich bread for croissant. We were pleasantly surprised at the flakiness of the croissant, the choice of the boiled egg, and the red onions complimenting the whole sandwich. All in all, a really good place to come and eat at.

I was excited to come to this cafe as it seemed to have great reviews and the food looked delicious. Unfortunately that was not my experience. I think the service was fine and the ambiance was enjoyable but other than that everything was mediocre. My friend ordered a biscof dessert and when they brought it out we realized it was really dry toast bread with a little drizzle of biscof and banana on the side. It was more so that it was lacking in flavor and it was very dry. I got the turkey pesto which came out 20 min later than my friend's food. Again it was nothing I would go back for. It seemed as though they were lacking in employees because they were very busy but everyone was waiting for their food.

I found this place on Yelp and did not disappoint. They have different selection of drinks, desserts, and sandwiches. I ordered two toast desserts and Flight Board which was so good. Flight Board has four drinks which you select. You can select coffee or drinks. I chose lavender , orange blossom, matcha, and rose water which were good. There is indoor and outdoor seating. We sat inside since it was really cozy and nice decorations. Lady who took my order was nice and friendly. She was patient and explained the flight board drinks. It took about 10 minutes to get our order which is not a problem. P.S they ask the diners to and throw away the trash and not leave it. So not sure what's the point of tipping. There is a sign on the wall.

This was such a cute little spot! The place itself was cozy and quaint and the staff was very friendly. The food itself was by far my favorite. For me it personally, was not too sweet and the French toast that was at the bases was soft and warm. It is also located on a street where there are many little stores so it was nice to be able to walk out of there and see a little more of the area. I would love to come back again! ordering an egg and cheese sandwich and literally getting unseasoned hard boiled eggs with cold cheese and stale bread is criminal the fact that I had to pay money for that feels like a robbery. I get it if I just "ordered wrong" but why would you guys ever sell something like that like yall could've warned me at least. I guess I'm just used to breakfast spots that make scrambled eggs and aren't cold. but seriously though that was the nastiest thing I've ever seen in my life. just letting the people know they don't use seasoning and they'll give you a sandwich with boiled eggs. crazy. read more

My first visit was on a Sunday during rush hour and as I walked in, ambiance was lively! I ordered the Vanilla Latte and Classic Sandwich as the cashier kindly recommended and saying I enjoyed it is an understatement! All the ingredients were so fresh and so savory. Vanilla Latte was just the right amount of sweetness and bitterness. My order came out cleanly and quickly (got our order within 10 mins of ordering despite the rush). Then, service was so sweet and accommodating with such big smiles. Loved the experience and will definitely come back next weekend! read more

Just had the absolute weirdest experience at Toasted Coffee in Glendale. Not a bad cup of joe but the customer service was incredibly strange and rude. I waited in line for a good 5 minutes before I was met with the cashier. She then strangely looked at me, and told me she was instead going to take the gentleman behind me's order, as he was a regular. HE EVEN APOLOGIZED TO ME, but the barista, never the less, took his order and then looked at me as if it was not completely offensive. I've tried many coffee places in Los Angeles and this goes down in history as having some of the strangest cashiers, and I have to unfortunately conclude I had a horrible first experience at this place. read more

Oh I love this place, such good sandwiches, the bread is so crunchy and so LIGHT! The strawberry turkey is my favorite, and you need to try the rose infused lemonade, SO GOOD! My friend lives in La Crescenta and she thought this would be a great place to get together for lunch. Thank God she is a foodie like me! It was a very cold day and the 4 of us + 2 babies got a table inside. It is seat yourself, so we got really lucky with someone leaving a larger area. You order at the counter where they had some free coffee stickers - fun! They give you a table number and later bring out your food. We all ordered the turkey and pesto. It was delicious and I inhaled mine. I also ordered the Rose and Saffron Toast which I didn't realize would come with ice cream on it. My friend later pointed out to me this was most likely because I had ordered from the dessert section. The toast was not only looked like a beautiful masterpiece, but it tasted amazing as well. My friends were weary to try it, but they all enjoyed it just as much as I did. They said it was not too sweet tasting as they had feared. On my way out I ordered the rose latte. It was one of the best I've ever had, and it kept my hands warm and hit the spot on this really chilly day. The customer service was great. They were very patient with us as the 3 of us had not ever visited there before. I hope you will give this place a try! read more

Coffee was good! But I had the classic sandwich which was recommended and wasn't that great.. was told it was a hot sandwich came out cold... Small shop lots of seating. Dessert/ part of breakfast menu was not allowed for to go.. salad was also not available. Cute place but seemed very short staff only 2 ppl one working register and one in the back so expect a bit of a wait. read more

I'm so in love with this place! I didn't get a chance to dine in but did a take out and 100% highly recommend. The coffee is delicious and the sandwiches are out of this world! We had the tuna sandwich and the turkey pesto sandwich and both sandwiches were perfectly done with the bread nicely toasted and the filling soft and juicy. We paired it with some yummy kettle chips and had a great picnic. read more

The coffee here has recently dropped in quality. Service is slower and seems like they've hired new kids who just don't know how to make coffee. Cappuccinos have so much milk that I can't even taste the caffeine and I end up tossing it. Also, food menu is limited. Would be great to have a healthy option like a grain bowl. read more

What a cute gem to open in Montrose! I kept seeing pictures of their French toast tower and it lured me in to try this place out. They have seating both inside and outside. You order at the register and they bring your food out to you. We came with kids and the did have high chairs to accommodate us at the table. The pastrami breakfast sandwich was so good! The crispy bread was so crunchy and delicious. We also ordered avocado toast but it was more of a sandwich. If I were you I would ask what's inside of it to adjust any ingredients you may not want. For example we didn't want the vinegar drizzle and feta cheese on it. Their drinks were amazing! They have a rose laté that was delicious and you can't go wrong with a vanilla laté! Came here with the family and our kids loved their strawberry delight toast tower! I don't usually like sweets but this one left a big impression on me and left me wanting more. Just the right amount of sweetness and texture to make it a fun and delightful experience. Their vanilla latte was on the money as well. We were very excited to try this café for the first time, seeing that they just opened three weeks ago. The sandwiches were delicious and the Coffee was amazing. We ordered the pastrami sandwich, the classic sandwich, Armenian coffee, and an oatmeal cappuccino -- I would happily recommend to anyone! They easily beat Starbucks/coffee bean. This is a family owned business and you can tell the level of attention to detail that the owners placed on creating the best food, drink, and dessert menu with high-quality ingredients. Having a dairy allergy, they offer amazing dairy alternatives and are able to customize there sandwiches as needed. We LOVE this café and are so excited to welcome them to the Montrose Community! I also appreciate that they have well priced their menu making it affordable for families. We will continue to support them and we hope that they stay for many years to come. read more

Great experience at this quaint spot! I really enjoyed that they have everything form savory to sweet. Parking was no trouble at all, plenty of seating, and kind staff! Great for studying or catching up with friends. For my first visit I tried the rose water latte and then turkey pesto sandwich, both were amazing. OK this is not only a legit coffee spot, their food is amazing! Leave your diet at home and don't count calories because it's all worth it! If you would like a little brunch spot with a great study vibe in a downtown neighborhood, this be the Place! I came out for the farmers market and ended up loving this little coffee spot that it might be worth the drive again just to come here! I am kind of on a secret goal of finding all the best coffee spots in SoCal! This would be on my top 10 so far. If I ever start a podcast on best coffee spots, I'm gonna do my first broadcast here! read more

I moved away from LCR a couple years ago but still come back to visit my parents who live in the area. I saw this new coffee shop in Montrose that looked cute and decided to stop by on Saturday morning with my husband and our small doggo (she's about 15lbs). There were two or three other parties inside (another of which also had a dog, albeit a smaller one, probably no more than 5-6lbs, sitting at their table) and we were able to place our orders at the front with two young girls. We wanted to try their fresh baked croissants that I saw advertised on their social media but was informed that they had burned the whole batch this morning. We opted instead for two muffins in their display as well as a hazelnut oat milk latte and a mocha. We sat down inside but were quickly informed that dogs were not allowed inside and were asked to move to an outside table... hmm. We obliged and moved outside at which point I saw a small sign to the right side of their storefront that said there were no pets or smoking allowed inside. I really don't have a problem with the no pets policy - I just didn't see the sign before I walked in. However, I did find it quite off-putting that they would allow another dog with another group to remain inside after asking us to sit outside. This soured the rest of the experience for me in addition to our drinks taking almost 15 minutes to be delivered. I get it, they're a new establishment and the girls working were young, maybe high school or college aged but I don't really think having a double standard on your pet policy is going to make this a popular spot for pet owners. 3.5/4 stars for drinks read more

Great place for desserts, coffee and sandwiches. We had the Cookie Crumble Toast Tower and it was absolutely delicious!! My husband and I shared and every bite was amazing. What a gem of a cafe! It's great for groups so we plan to bring our 4 kids next time. There is seating inside and outside--perfect for our California weather. Finally a great find in Montrose! This place has had a few different businesses occupying it over the years--I hope this one sticks cause they are running a really nice operation. This cute little cafe has great coffee and sandwiches. We've tried all (or at least most) of the sandwiches on their menu and have not been disappointed. The bread they use is always fresh, warm and toasted. The coffee is good too. My husband is a cold brew snob and he likes theirs. Today we ordered their sweet toast and a rose flight. If you're looking for dessert I recommend their toasts. I loved the rose cold brew and the rose late. The rose lemonade is also delicious. Order at the counter. It was almost awesome. Food quality is there. Bread needs butter or olive oil and to stay on the press a little bit longer so that bread can cook, and the food can heat up. Cute place in general, great employees. read more

Just ordered a petite sized matcha magic tower toast which was absolutely delish! It was my breakfast and lunch so I didn't feel bad for devouring it all by myself, and I ate nutritious berries along with it as topping. I also got the hot rose water latte with low fat milk and that was yummy also. The place was busy as it is a holiday (President's Day) and there might be a bit of a wait for getting the order, but otherwise, the service was great. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and sweet. I also ordered the strawberry turkey sandwich to go and ate that later at home and it did not disappoint- very yummy. After scouting several nearby locations, I decided I was in the mood for a great cinnamon roll. Sweet Demi Lune Bakery & Café looked like the place that would deliver the experience I was seeking. SDLBC is listed as being in Glendale, but it's located in the historic Old Town of Montrose. That's beside the point; I only mention it because there are additional places to explore just up the street. We arrived around 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday, and there wasn't much of a selection left, including the highly sought-after cinnamon roll. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us warmly, and I immediately asked if that was all the pastries they had. He said yes. I contemplated leaving because of the nonexistent cinnamon roll, but I didn't want to be rude, so I decided to give the bakery a try since we were already there. So, we basically took half of what remained behind the glass display case: a Peach Almond Croissant, a Raspberry Pistachio Croissant, an Almond Croissant, and then my curiosity focused on a few lonely-looking pastries that were unfamiliar to my discerning eyes. I asked the gentleman what they were, and he replied with something that sounded completely foreign to me: Kouign-Amann. Kouign-Amann (pronounced queen ah-MAHN) is a traditional pastry from the region of Brittany, France. It is often considered one of the richest pastries in the world because it is made with just a few simple ingredients in generous proportions: bread dough, butter, and sugar. Figuring we needed a few more sweets for the road, we took all the remaining Kouign-Amanns. Two were the traditional version, and the other two were filled with crème and blueberry jam. We also ordered a Café Americano and a Café Mocha. While we waited for our drinks, I simply couldn't wait any longer. Like a kid on Christmas morning, I eagerly opened my gift and dug right into the Kouign-Amann. Hesitantly, I tore off a tiny piece with my fingers, expecting nothing extraordinary, and instantly gave birth to a brand-new experience that exploded in my mouth. The crisp exterior gave way to the soft, flaky center, followed by waves of what tasted like delicate honey. I tore off another piece and shared it with my wife. One look at her eyes told me she wanted more. By the time our drinks were ready, we had devoured one of the Kouign-Amanns and confessed to the gentleman behind the counter that we had just experienced pure ecstasy in the form of a pastry. Kouign-Amann is, in fact, one of the richest pastries in the world, so don't let the unfamiliar name keep you from trying one. The Café Americano and the Café Mocha were also exceptionally well prepared. With everything that's happening in the world these days, a simple yet profound experience like this reminded me how wonderful life can still be. Like Arnold said... "I'll be back." Enjoy!

The coffee has a nice mild flavor, but nothing beats the sweets. I have to tell you this chocolate mousse cake is the right portion otherwise I would eat the whole thing in this case the powers that be more wise and gave me a slice and Man was it delicious.

Personally, I love their mocha and acai bowl for drinks and snacks, and their to-die-for lentil soup, shakshouka, Spaghetti Bolognese, spicy California bowl, pizzas, burgers, and many others.
