It's right down the street from my home and I'll be definitely visiting more!!! After sitting a while with my friend, we saw a group of people served these amazing and quite large sandwiches. I was looking for a new delicious food type to bring happy to my day. Mom is 81. She owned a catering company and deli in montrose for 20 years. From the entrance this can easily be missed. But upon entry Her first comment was "What a quaint little spot" . She really liked the atmosphere it is reminiscent of a back country small town diner. There is not a lot that excites moms palate or eyes these days. We were sharing our food. Mom started us out with the turkey pesto panini sandwich and I ordered the strawberry and Macha tower chocolate sauce on the side with unsweetened iced tea. The turkey panini was delicious! It was layers of flavors with oozing melted cheese piled on a crispy homemade flatbread. The Sandwich was huge and easily shared by two people. My mom said "this is too big but it is very tasty and the pesto make it sing" We should've stopped there but our strawberry tower arrived just as we took our last bites of the turkey. A glorious high tower of goodness was placed before us with two forks. They had cored two huge pieces of a sweet brioche bread. The center was cut into cubes and toasted to perfection. This was stuffed back inside the toasted crust. On the top a very large scoop of matcha Ice cream with two macaroons, whipped cream, fresh strawberries, pistachios and a small piece of basil. The white sauce was swizzled all over. This was definitely an eye-catching dessert and something I had never seen before They did forget that I had ordered the sauce on the side and so the dish was swimming in a very sugary sweet white chocolate sauce. This dessert could've easily fed three people maybe even four. I really liked the textures and the ice cream that they use is top-notch. Overall this is something that I would get on occasion for special events or when I have a couple girlfriends with me to help me eat it. It was unique and certainly my mother enjoyed all of the food. We did leave about 3/4 of the strawberry tower because we had just ordered too much food and transporting melting ice cream is not exactly gonna happen. I would highly recommend this quaint little restaurant. Their coffee is really good and their food is unique and eye-catching. The staff was very nice to my mom. We will definitely be coming back the next time that I am in town. I like the fact that the restaurant is in a quieter part of montrose next to my favorite thrift boutique. My biggest issue is parking. We actually parked in the back and hiked up the hill to the restaurant. On my personal 1 to 10 scale I give this restaurant a nine. It would be at 10 except for the chocolate sauce all over. This was tasty st first but as you are eating the tower The chocolate sauce really becomes too much and becomes the predominant flavor. Give this unique little restaurant a try I guarantee you that "toast" is going to become a franchise!!! it's going to be the next thing kind of like bbq, Starbucks, poke, Boba, sushi and the tea houses that are popping up everywhere. I think this coffeehouse has potential and I will stop by again. It has a nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly. I ordered an iced Coco-Mo (iced mocha with hints of coconut.) It was tasty. Smooth and creamy. A bit sweet for my taste but the drink was well made. It's a Mounds or Bounty candy bar made into a drink. The pastry selection wasn't too appealing to me. I love pastries and baked goods but their options didn't look particularly fresh. I noticed a customer was trying their coffee flight. I thought it looked interesting. I was surprised that we didn't know a new place opened in Montrose, since it's a small community and usually we notice new stuff. Anyway, we decided to give it a try and we were so glad we did! The staff was great, the location was very cool bu most of all the desserts were killer! The signature toast is kind of like a liege waffle, thick and crispy but not too dense. We got strawberry and salted caramel and both were great. They offer mini, regular and large. The mini is plenty even for a hearty eater and the others are perfect to share. Didn't get to try their signature Toasted desert towers (next time!) but their coffee was great, and their panini sandwiches were really tasty (and crunchy!). This somewhat new spot in Montrose is decorated well, in fact, it's adorable. There is good seating both inside and out. They do have alternative milks (oat, soy, etc.) for their coffees, which is great. While there are several sandwich and toast options, there isn't much that is "basic." We had two young eaters with us and both just wanted a basic turkey sandwich, which apparently isn't an option. They both just ended up having a croissant. The sandwiches that the adults got were okay, but a bit small and the meats didn't seem to be of higher quality. Customers place their orders at the counter, sit down with a number, and the food is brought to them. The service from the young lady who brought us our food was great, but the young lady at the counter wasn't welcoming, nor had any patience with our new customer questions. The location of this shops is very beautiful it's near a lot of shops so you can grab your coffee and walk around or you can grab a seat inside or outside and enjoy your coffee. The inside of this place was very clean but can get hot inside. So let's talk about the coffee! I ordered the seasonal coffee flight and this is hands down the best one I have ever tried!! The flavors and the coffee meshes amazing together. The flight came with 3 lattes and 1 tea and I almost ordered another one because they were that good lol. The coffee flight came with rose water latte, orange blossom latte, lavender latte and a rose iced tea. They all tasted delicious but my favorite one was the rose water latte it had the perfect ratio of flavor. I'm so happy I was able to come here and this definitely won't be the last time I come! Owner needs to do some training Just because we didn't tip the girl ringing up a $12 sale she decided to be rude and not make our drinks the correct way until we had to ask why it's not the same as last few times and another girl had to come in and fix it for us. I ordered a Turkey, Pesto, Spinach sandwich To go and when I got home the contents of this sandwich, although very generous with bread, featured approx 5 micro-thin slices of what looked like Oscar Mayer deli meat! Round very thin slices of a pressed turkey meat product. For the price of $12.50 I was not expecting this poor representation of turkey. My family of 5 love the food here. We come here every Saturday morning. We are pretty loyal customers. The staff recognizes our party. Today was the first time my youngest son ordered a plate he didn't like, and he has tried almost desert breakfast toast on the menu. I informed a staff member that he didn't like it, and asked if we could replace the dish. We've never made this kind of a request. We've never sent anything back. We always tip. I was informed that they couldn't make a new dish for him and that I needed order a new dish and would have to pay for it. Needless to say I was VERY disappointed. Not because I was trying to get a free dish, but because I learned that there was no reciprocation of loyalty towards a regular repeat customer. As a small business owner I appreciate how difficult it can be at times, and I also know how important it is to keep customers. In fact it's more expensive to get new customers, versus taking care of an existing fan base. I'm not saying we won't come back, but the honeymoon phase is definitely over. read more

So three main things at this place are the coffee, the desert and the sandwiches. I felt the sandwiches need a lot more work to make them flavorful. The rose water latte was good but at $8-9 for a medium if you want a little coffee was insanely overpriced. The desert was it's only saving Grace. One star for the coffee ONLY everything else is ZERO. The food is below acceptable quality and priced not reasonable for place that obviously doesn't cook- only TOASTER. Menu even says eggs are boiled/ not cooked so pre bought hard boiled eggs. My son wanted the Nutella banana toast with the whip cream - NO nuts and honey that come on it. Three different girls at the counter came out to tell me that they don't recommend changing anything on the menu and that it would make it too dry- basically trying to convince me to eat it as is and that they don't alter anything. I said well what is it's an allergy? And one of the girls has the audacity to say to me well you're ordering it with Nutella which has hazelnuts so it's not an allergy issue- what customer service? Basically at this point I'm trying to find something else which is more plain (no nuts or honey) just so I can get the kid something, and finally one other maybe manager comes out to see what's going on- she says they can get me the toast with just Nutella bananas and whip cream, makes the notes on her iPad thing I still pay AND leave a 20 dollar tip, and 15 minutes later when the order comes out... guess what??? It's got nut and honey alllll over it... I got the turkey pesto and it's a zataar spread - not mentioned anywhere on the menu, my daughter got the grilled cheese which looked like it had been made 4 days ago, stale bread and dry cheese just pressed in a panini grill.
