I have eaten there twice and both times the food was excellent. The menu changes frequently so there are always a few surprises. At this visit, we had the potstickers and Brie appetizers. The potstickers were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, the Brie was covered in a blueberry and balsamic vinegar reduction. Both were outstanding. I had the Mahi Mahi, my wife had the filet mignon, our guests had trout and Korean beef. All were cooked perfectly and presented with care. The service was friendly, polite and attentive. They don't take reservations, so if you want a seat overlooking the River, get there early. There is a beautiful patio on the lower level, but it's closed when the weather is rainy. Had the Pecan Crusted Trout, my wife had a $29 Ribeye, and my son had the ribs. Their food was barely ok, my fish tasted extra fishy like it was spoiled and when it came out it was room temperature. I sent it back, the waitress Michaela B refused to take it off my bill. I asked for the manager and she said he felt ill and could do nothing. I've never given a restaurant 1 star but this will be the first. The waitress was borderline rude and charged us gratuity to make sure she got a good tip. Had high hopes for this place but the owner/ chef made this dinner one of the worst experiences I've ever had the displeasure of being a part of. My younger sister is very particular about having a medium well to well done steak and after three additional trips to the kitchen it was still hardly medium. Nevertheless, now at a loss of her appetite, the owner refuses to give us the common courtesy of admitting to his own mistake of being a lousy cook . Apparently this establishment doesn't garentee the quality of a 40 dollar fillet.... crazy. Anyway, hopefully this will help other customers from making the same mistake we did. Don't go if you have children. We were 3 adults, 2 children and our 4mo baby and since we entered to the place they gave us a bad look. Later my wife was rocking the baby (not crying, just to make him sleep) and this "manager" told her that you don't do that in a fancy restaurant (of course this is not a fancy restaurant) and later moved our stroller in a bad way. I didn't really know what to expect, and really did not expect a lot considering all the bad reviews here. Either way, we figured we give it a try yesterday. We were surprised by the beautiful patio area close to the river. The place was so nice and it was such a treat to sit so close to the river. The food was great. Wow. I now know why this place has AWFUL reviews. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken tacos, which were pretty good but the coleslaw had the very distinct smell and taste of rubbing alcohol.. I wish I was kidding. It was HORRIBLE! My husband ordered the filet medium rare. When he got it he cut it in the middle to make sure it was cooked properly, and it was obvious it had not been. It was medium well. No big deal, we figured they would fix their obvious mistake... WRONG! The chef argued that it was medium rare even tho it had the slightest, tiniest sliver of pale pink in the middle! Totally insane! Having just moved to Blue Ridge a year and a half ago we were over the moon to find our new favorite restaurant. Well not anymore, tonight We had the most despicable treatment we have experienced in any restaurant and we have dined in many restaurants all over the world. Tim the owner/want to be chef refused to cook me another meal as the "succulent" baby back ribs were horribly dry and I sent them back. You my friend do not deserve to be in the hospitality business. Not bad place; The trout I will say was delicious I think whichever way you decide to get it; it's good all around. I had it fried with green beans & corn nuggets. The sides, I suggest you add some type of condiments to them... little salt and pepper maybe??? Corn nuggets were awesome!!! My better half ordered the rack of ribs, maybe a little more smoke and sauce you might make them perfect; kids menu definitely needs a bit sprucing up! Spaghetti sauce was cold and no flavor! Don't eat here. They have the atmosphere but not the talent to back it up. The food is cold and under cooked. Sides are from cans. Honestly the worst steak I've had in years. No flavor and paper thin. Owners statement was. "We gave you a round, one beer, and recooked your meal." Well it was still flavorless and I had asked for a burger instead of recooking the steak. Kids pasta was cold and no flavor as well. Lemon chicken was pounded thin and dry. The baked potato wouldn't even melt butter. Worst, absolute worst, meal in a long time. After a long day we stopped here for dinner with our dogs. They have a nice porch area called the pooch porch that is covered where you can sit with your dogs. I had the pecan crusted trout and it was delicious, they served it with what tasted like maple butter. The collards were simple cooked in butter and bacon and the brussel sprouts were roasted. My husband had their special which was a country steak with gravy on top. He had the collard greens and mashed potatoes and seemed to enjoy them as well. We both had dessert. Do you like bland food, with no flavor? Do you like low quality cuts of meats? Do you like to dine at a place that has zero respect and concern for their customers? Then this place is for you! My family and I came here to dine for dinner. This restaurant had zero wait time and did not take reservations and now I see why. Looking back, this should have been a big clue for what we had coming for us. My parents ordered the rainbow trout and I ordered the bacon wrapped "filet." My parent's said the fish was okay, not much flavor, but edible for someone who had been hiking and in a car fort most of the day. My "filet" on the other hand was not. First of all, it did not even look like the correct cut of steak. It honestly looked like a beef roast or something that had been cooked in a crockpot. It was not tender, had no flavor, and was honestly the worst steak I have ever been served. It was obviously a a very low quality of meat that he was trying to sell for $40! I asked for the entree to be returned and ordered the rainbow trout instead. The "owner/head chef" came to my table and told me nothing was wrong with my steak and that even his "sous chef" agreed. He then proceeded to talk to me in the most condescending manner and told me that I would be paying for the cost of the meat because there was nothing he could do. Before agreeing to anything, I tried to ask him a question and he stomped away mumbling something under his breath. Another waitress came to our table with the bill, which I thought was odd, since I was still waiting on my fish entree. She stopped by another time and said the check was ready when we were. I told her the check did not have my fish order on it, so we were waiting for that. She told me that Tim, "the owner," did not want to make any more food for our table. This is fine and his right as a restaurant owner, however this was not communicated by him or anyone else and I sat in the restaurant waiting for food that was never coming in the first place. The worst part is that by the time we left the restaurant no other restaurants were open, so I went back to our cabin with no dinner. If he had a decent bone in his body, he would have at least communicated that he was not cooking anything else and I would have left his restaurant immediately. DO NOT DINE HERE. We honestly had an amazing experience in this place. It's funny because we had no Internet service to check out reviews for this place. We were coming out of the Falls Creek and were hungry so decided to stop to grab something to eat and were definitely not disappointed. The place was charming, very clean and friendly. We had the fried grouper sandwich and the fish tacos and everything was amazing. The peach cobbler was also delicious. We highly recommend it. And also the Taccoa River view is amazing!!! read more

The worst Customer Service ever. My wife and I went there for dinner recommended by our Airbnb host. I had the crab stuffed trout and it was delicious. My wife however had the chef's special which was red snapper, she was only able to eat one bite. The fish was very chewy and also had a very heavy fishy smell that indicates that it isn't fresh. By the time we were able to get the waitress back to the table I was finished with mine. She did finally send the fish back and simply asked for a sandwich or something quick since I had already finished. The chef who is supposedly is the owner sent his 20 year old very timid manager to tell us the the fish was fine and that he would not cook my wife anything else. Worst food ever! Has rented a cabin for a few days and wanted to have some good food with family. I should have realized that it was not going to be a good experience when i noticed that the employees were not welcoming, did not smile at all. My mother asked for a Caesar Salad and the lettuce was was brown!!! Can't even begin to tell you how much of a let down this restaurant was. We are in town on a weekend getaway and wanted a "nicer" restaurant for the night. WELL, we sure didn't get what we had hoped for. It was advertised online as a nice, cute, restaurant on the river and we were expecting great vibes. When we arrived the staff had us essentially walk ourselves to our own table. From there it took 20 minutes for our waitress just to initially come to our table, 15 more mins to get our drinks, then another 30 mins to get our food from there. The menu online IS NOT what they have at the restaurant. It is about $10 more on average than what is advertised online. Then you once your food finally comes out, it's cold, bland and incorrect. By the time they brought us out all the correct items we ordered, we had eaten what food we had and were ready for our check. Did I mention they segregate against dogs? LOL no seriously, it's advertised as a restaurant with a nice patio area which most restaurants would be dog friendly in that area. Not this one, we had to sit in the dog kennel that smelled a little off, you didn't have ANY water front view and it's almost as if that's why we were forgotten about the whole time. We went for a early dinner/late lunch. The calamari was good but not great, the Cajun popcorn was good but the bites were extremely small. My wife's crabstuffed trout was very good and tasted fresh. The corn bites were dry and sort of bland. My lobster pasta was very good but no different from any chain restaurant. The garlic toast was soft and had a great taste. The best thing about this restaurant is the view, especially if you sit out on the deck. In my opinion the quality of food does not justify the price. read more

Always a favorite when we come to town. Great view and nice menu. The Property and view speak for themselves....upstairs is full service with downstairs a lighter menu but great tables alongside the river. Went twice during our two weeks in North GA. I had the trout salad that was nice the first visit. Fried pickles were delicious along with the broiled trout sandwich for lunch. For the area deserves five stars, but when compared to other dining options globally, four is just right. Look forward to our next holiday in North GA. read more
