    Clam chowder
    Brenda A.

There's a lot of hype about this spot and how good the food is so we had to try it. Overall, the food is pretty good but not sure I would say it lived up to the hype. Fresh seafood is what does the trick here although I will say my shrimp cocktail was pretty flavorless. I ordered the grilled halibut and it did not disappoint and the fries were delish too. There is live entertainment and plenty of sightseeing and seating. Counter service and an assortment of beer and wine in addition to bottles and fountain drinks. It didn't take too long for my order to be called and staff keeps up with cleaning tables. There's a restroom nearby too.

This place was busy but had room to seat us. We could see a bit if the bay and Morro rock from our table. The service was quite good. Our server was friendly and attentive. The clam chowder in a sourdough bowl was excellent. My wife thought the Admirals platter was just ok. Overall it was a great dinner.

We stumbled upon this spot while walking along the pier, looking for a quick snack and a drink. We stopped at Tognazzini's Dockside Restaurant and were pleasantly surprised. They offer a nice selection of local wines and beers, perfect for enjoying by the waterfront. The highlight of our visit was the barbecued oysters, cooked in a rich herb butter sauce. They were incredibly flavorful, perfectly prepared, and absolutely delicious. A great place to relax, enjoy a drink, and savor fresh seafood while taking in the pier atmosphere.

My dad recommended this place and it was a good recommendation. Definitely gives off local diner vibes but with a seaside theme all around! There's parking directly in front of the restaurant. The hostess was friendly and so were the staff! We ordered some breakfast and they made the pancakes we got for my son into the shape of Mickey which was super cute and a nice touch! I really enjoyed the little detail of sending yourself a postcard that the restaurants gives you and they mail it in it behalf!! Such a cute touch!

This is always a must-stop for us whenever we're passing through Morro Bay. The oysters are incredibly fresh, and the service is consistently outstanding. On this visit, we shared the Tuesday-only oyster chowder special and were pleasantly surprised--it was even better than the clam chowder, which is excellent in its own right. We look forward to coming back every time we're in the area.

Located across from the three smoke stacks on the Embarcedaro. Our server was really personable and helped make our experience memorable. Ambiance fit the location with an old school briny feel. My husband started with a cup of clam chowder that was delicious. My side salad with mixed greens was fresh with carrots, cucumber slices and beets. Dinner was fine. We were sad to see they ran out of vegetables as a side. I am not a fan of tomato slices so wish there were other substitutions available. We finished with a nostalgic slice of Olallieberry Pie à la mode. Our favorite parts of our dining experience were the clam chowder and our server.

    Fish ¿tacos?

It's hard to remember having worse fish tacos. It was a salad over some small pieces of cod(didn't taste fresh), and was served without lemon. I was seated outside, so my waitress never came to check in on me. I had to fish out the tiny lemon wedge from my water to squeeze on the 1.5 tacos that I could get down.

2 stars because the clam chowder was delicious but the fish and chips were not that great. And unfortunately the service was the worst I've ever had. I've never been so mad. I will never go back here nor could I recommend it.

I was able to park a little way down in the handicapped spot becasue the two in front of the restaurant were already taken. There was a little bit of a wait to get seated, but was seated by the window. View is of the dock, which makes sense given the name of the restaurant!! While I waited to order, one of the waiters tapped my window-side shoulder as he walked by, you know that old trick. Weird. They have good napkins, which I appreciate. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries with a bottomless soda (Pepsi family). They asked how I wanted the burger cookes, which is quite uncommon, so I said medium-rare!! They said their salads were mixed greens so I didn't order one. The burger was charred on the outside, which made me a little nervous about the inside. And, indeed it was dry inside. Why ask if you aren't going to cook as the customer desires? The fries needed ketchip and salt to taste correct. Mayo and ketchup on the burger, but had to really work at getting the ketchup out of the bottle, had to use my knife!! The bun was big and toasted hard. Once eaten it compressed flat. They were slow to refill the soda but at least they gave me lots of ice with it. I was, again, disappointed by this restaurant. I suppose if you order seafood or fish you might have better luck.

Very happy with our meals whenever we come here. The service is always friendly and efficient Love the postcards they let you write to friends and loved ones- they will mail them for you as well Cute and cozy decor Dog friendly on the patio with wonderful views of the rock We normally go for breakfast, but have been later in the day as well with friends Plenty of parking

Only here to judge the oysters, my typical oyster place was closed today and decided to try this place instead. Their oysters were fresh but wasn't as sweet and there were shell pieces in the oyster which did not make it enjoyable. Overall I just feel that you could find better elsewhere.

Fish & Chips, Steak Taco and Shrimp Cocktail
    Ulises C.

Greasy fish and chips, bland and soggy chips. Steak Taco was simple, nothing to brag about. And the shrimp cocktail was overall disgusting/ disappointing.

    Pasta primavera

We were traveling along Pacific Coast Highway, and I always loved Morro Bay as a kid so I had to show it to my friend who was traveling with me. After looking at the otters and enjoying the spectacle that is Morro Rock, we decided to get something to eat. We looked at various eateries and chose this one. It was pretty good. I ordered the fish sandwich and my friend ordered the Pasta Primavera. The portions were generous, and the service was very friendly. My fish sandwich was served dry, and it was more pan fried than battered and fried, but the tartar sauce was tasty and the fish seasoned well and not fishy tasting. It was a lot of bread and very filling. My friend thought her Pasta Primavera was ok. She said the sauce wasn't as garlicky as she would have liked, and it was a little soupy. The garlic bread was only toasted on one side, and so the side that was to the pasta got soggy. She said the pasta was cooked well, and the vegetables were good. So ok but nothing special. Overall, a quiet pleasant spot to enjoy a meal after a long drive and a walk, enjoying nature. Morro Bay is still one of my favorite places, and I know I'll come back again when I can.

When I arrived, I was surprised by how small the space was. There were a few seats at the bar, a couch inside, and a couple of outdoor tables where you can enjoy views of the famous rock. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I had a few questions about the wines, but unfortunately, the staff member working didn't seem very knowledgeable about the selections. While they were friendly and welcoming, I was a bit disappointed because part of the experience I enjoy at a wine bar is learning about the wines, their backgrounds, and the local wineries they come from. Overall, the wine and atmosphere were enjoyable, and it's a nice spot to start or end an evening. Just be aware that if you're looking for detailed information or recommendations about the wines, the staff may not be able to provide much insight.

A glass of wine (I chose a Tempranillo from Rioja), was $15 and the pour was honestly no bigger than a 2 oz taste we'd get as part of a flight. At first I thought it was an error or oversight, but my husband got the same size pour for his Ancient Peaks Cab. I get being cost conscious as a business but this is just appalling. We aren't tourists, so we learned our lesson and probably won't return.

On a quick day trip on a Friday afternoon, we decided to give this place a try. No reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. Although we did not have a full bay view, we had a partial bay view. Some hits and misses with food and service. 1. Bowl of Clam Chowder (no bread bowls available). Chowder was piping hot and had nice pieces of clams (dad got a bit of clam shell..so be careful), celery and potatoes. The chowder was very creamy and not grainy or watery like other locations. I would definitely order again 5/5 2. Fish & Chips: Fresh Pacific cod, lightly breaded, served with house-made tartar sauce. Fish was fried to perfection. 5/5 3. Seafood Pasta: Linguini with jumbo prawns, fresh catch, Cajun cream sauce, garlic bread. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly 5/5 4. Side of Garlic bread: extremely disappointing. We ordered garlic bread with our chowder, it never came. Waitress decided to serve it with the mains (fish and chips) and we ordered for the entire table and she only brought 2 pieces. 5. Insalata Molina: Mixed greens, arugula, pear, walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, mango vinaigrette. Couldn't tell you if this was any good bc the waitress NEVER brought but charged us for it. She then takes it off the bill and brings me the salad in a Styrofoam container. I told her I didn't want it and put it in my bag. Salad was so soggy (which means the kitchen prepared it and the waitress forgot to serve it) I would not order and do not recommend ordering it bc it was the size of a side salad definitely not worth the price point. 6. Mocktail Lavender lemonade: definitely not balanced, was pretty tart and again the price point was off. It was about 8oz lemonade for $12 They do offer a nice selection of wines. Restrooms are located outside the restaurant and are public restrooms, pretty dirty and out of stock. Although our service was a big miss, I do recommend the food items we ordered. I did take a star off due to the service.

The staff was great, escorted us to our reserved seating. Concert venue was great, food vendor was great, enjoyed their wines. The main issue we encountered was there was two 70 year old women dancing on the new outdoor pavilion area. The capacity was at approximately 25 people seated at this particular area. People were enjoying their concert and partaking in the festivities and musical band who were enticing the patrons to enjoy themselves and engage in dancing to the groove. A lady who was seated under the covered area got up in an aggressive manner and confronted the two older patrons to stop dancing and go up to the front area near the band and barn type cellar to dance. Weird and out of character. The lady (later determined to be the owner) went inside and complained to the manager about the issue and was visibly upset. She asked him to address the issue to the patrons about dancing on the hillside pavilion floor. Please note the pavilion is designed as an entertainment center for 150 people per chat GTP. Two people dancing which grew to 15 people later danced upon the area and were confronted by the manager to refrain and move forward off of the pavilion to dance in a dirt area in front of the tasting room. Crazy that you can physically walk, talk, eat, drink, and sit in the pavilion area but two 70 year old women can't dance there? If there was any type of structural issues with the pavilion; would it be earthquake safe? Is there a structural issue that is not addressed? I see no Fire Department maximum occupancy of persons signs posted, no dancing permitted signs, or anything to construe that the structure wasn't safe for someone to dance upon. I don't think I will be returning there as the poor respect by the owner to patrons lacks professionalism. The vibe was crushed. I'm sad it ruined the customers day.

They have a few selections but of course the one I really wanted to try wasn't available that day. And that was ok. They gave me 6 tokens to give one each time i wanted my next tasting. Well sine they didn't have one of the wines I wanted and white wine was more limited I asked if I could turn in two chips for two tastings of the same wine. And I did this also so I didn't have to come in and bother them as soon for another pour of the same thing. I was told they don't do that .... But then they did. It just doesn't make sense to me. I also was trying to be nice and I just felt like she was wasn't super friendly. This place has a gorgeous set up outside. They have nice comfy seating or high top tables which overlook the rolling green hills. This time of the year is absolutely beautiful. I can see the warmer months not being as pretty because I'm sure everything turns brown. I also loved watching the animals down below. The scenery was so majestic. I will definitely be back again.
