We ordered three kids' burritos, one adult burrito, and taqueria rolls, and the total came out to around $50, which felt a bit expensive for what we got. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and worked quickly. Our food was delivered fast, which we appreciated. I didn't go inside, but from the drive-through window the place looked clean and nicely decorated with cute Christmas decorations. Overall, it's a decent spot with good service and late hours, but the pricing keeps it from being a higher rating. read more

This place either should shut down or higher a new crew. I used the drive thru and I ask for a super carnitas burrito only after I was told a regular burrito had no rice or beans. The super had guacamole, cream, rice and beans and pico de gallo. I paid the price and I drove to where I was going to eat. It had a lump of meat barely any beans and no pico de gallo. Maybe they were just lazy to wash dishes last time. I'm sure if you live in or around the Sacramento area, you've come across a "California Burrito" location in your neck of the woods. This particular location (tucked in between a McDonald's & Quick Quack Car Wash) is directly on Lichen Dr and adjacent to busy Antelope Rd in Citrus Heights. They opened their doors for business back in late-2023 and in that amount of time, I've seen more negative than positive reviews. So I took matters in my own hands to be the judge of that to see where this place ranks. I will say that the food served here is eerily similar to what you'd find at other fast-food Mexican restaurants including Adalberto's & Carolina's. The menu includes just about everything you can possibly imagine including tacos, burritos, enchiladas, tortas, salads, nachos, breakfast options, and a variety of Mexican beverages. One big plus is how sizable the dining area is here with ample seating to comfortably seat at least 3 dozen customers. Furthermore, they also offer a 24-hour drive thru while their inside lobby is even open during the late night hours. My lady and I came here during the afternoon of Saturday 5/24/25 at around 3:30pm as we were both absolutely starving after a full day of errands. I ordered the "California Burrito" (quite fitting when coming here) while she went with (2) "Carne Asada" tacos and (1) "Rolled Beef" taco. We both order a Horchata to wash it down. Total price for everything including tax came out to around $27. I also wanted to add that chips/salsa are included with your purchase when dining in. Service here was quick as both of our plates arrived in about 7 minutes. My burrito was piping hot and had fresh chunks of seasoned Carne Asada complete with fried potatoes, cheese, and Pico de Gallo. And once adding some of their red & green salsas in every savory bite, I will say that everything tasted great after it was all said and done. I've been to my fair share of Mexican fast-food places and everything here was fresh and inviting. All in all, I am giving this "California Burrito" location an above average four-star rating. read more

So very disappointed today with the food received. I asked if the POTATOES in the breakfast burrito were French fries and she said no they're potatoes. Look at the picture and tell me if that is not a French fry. There were so many in there it hardly left room for the sausage and eggs. There was a HUGE gob of cheese in the middle of the burrito and when I cut it in half only one half had cheese. The churros, which she almost forgot, were FRIED TOO HARD. Again, look at the picture. We ordered takeout on this rainy evening. One of us ordered the Chicken Fajita plate. It all got glopped together in the takeout box but overall was tasty. I ordered the Carne Asada regular burrito. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The customer service here is terrible. They got my order entirely wrong and refused to give a refund. The manager woman with the blonde hair and fake eyelashes is extremely rude and should not be working with customers if she doesn't know what it means to be in the service industry. You shouldn't be arguing with the customer when you and your staff made the mistake. Just avoid this place altogether because they will likely get your order wrong anyways. read more

If I could give no stars, I absolutely would. We had gone to this location for pozole on numerous occasions and spent a chunk of money for it. It is not cheap by any means. The young man working the counter completely ignored that my husband was trying to order. It wasn't like the place was packed or busy, he just didn't care that a customer was there. My husband is one of the most kind and patient men that has ever graced the Earth. Husband made sure to ask for cabbage, onions and cilantro. Tell me why he was given LETTUCE for pozole. So far, so good! Ordered carne asada super nachos and horchata in the drive-thru. Didn't wait long for a Friday night at 8p. Order smells delicious!!! Looking forward to tasting it at home. Hubs thought chips needed salt, which probably would've helped with the overall flavor it lacked. Carne was very soft and tender, and plentiful. Tried this place today for the first time. We ordered two chicken taco combo plate which was an outrageous $19. And one shrimp taco. The shrimp taco had like four or five shrimp and mostly red and green bell peppers and onions, yuck! My bill adding one churro was a little over $27! Never again. The quality was not great. We love California Burrito. This location doesn't disappoint when it comes to food taste and quality however the service is absolutely appalling. We'd be regulars if they didn't consistently disappoint. For context we order in, use the drive thru, and Uber eats on a fairly regular basis. Our orders are consistently wrong and we regularly are missing items on all three fronts. Usually we just make the best of it but our most recent experience with our uber eats order was the last nail in the coffin. We dont blame our driver whatsoever so I called California Burrito directly. I told them our Carne Asada salad was missing from the order and they immediately blamed the delivery app but also immediately followed up by saying the cook "forgot to make it but you can come pick it up if you want", there was no apology and I was met with immediate attitude. She seemed irritated that I would dare mention a missing item. I called again today to see when the manager would be in and again was met with this weird attitude. I wasn't rude when I asked, im in the service industry myself, I get it. I tried to clarify when so i could call back and again was met with a response saying they weren't in now but would be in the morning. I asked what time. She kept repeating irritated "the morning" again I would ask an estimated time and again would be met with an irritated "the morning". I believe the issue isn't with the establishment itself but with certain rude employees. Unfortunately these people will drive away business until they're replaced with employees that actually want to be there. read more

A 24 hour drive thru burrito?! Yes, please! We were pleasantly surprised to happen upon this spot on a 4 am drive out of town. We had the Chorizo, Potato, Egg and Cheese Burrito and the Super Asada Burrito. While the breakfast burrito was super fresh and yummy, the Asada burrito tasted like it had yesterday's rice. Three stars for generous portions. I had the daily special which was 5 taquitos, rice, beans and a soft drink. The food itself is very bland. No seasonings/spices at all. Even the sauces that they included could not help it. I ended up dousing everything with Tapatio sauce just to get some kind of flavor. I will wait a bit longer to try them again. Absolutely the worst drive thru experience I have ever had. When entering there are over grown bushes that someone can hide in making it easy to rob you if you have to sit there while waiting in line. When I was there were 8 cars backed up. It was a very unsafe feeling. The owner needs to cut the bushes back. I waited 20 minutes before I reached the order mic. When I made my order the person taking my order said she couldn't hear me. Even though I raised my voice to an almost shouting level she only repeated 2 out of 4 items I ordered. I repeated the entire order for the 4th or 5th time she did not respond back. When I finally got to the window after waiting 30 minutes she had to take my order then. So I wait while they made my food. By this time there were several cars backed up into the parking lot. The food isn't worth the hassle I went through to get it. I ordered 3 rolled toco's. They were small and soggy with very little cheese. The guacamole is not fresh. Its premade and runny. I will stick with Aldoberto's on Madison Ave. There is also one on Greenback and Auburn Blvd. The food is always good there. If I could have gotten out of line I would have. This was my first time trying California Burrito. We went to the one on Lichen Dr. at about 10:00 pm. The food was great despite being no sour cream that we paid $7 for on 3 tacos. Also there was a leaf thing inside my taco. The customer service was terrible. I've never as a grown adult been talked to the way the women talked to me there. Both women had absolutely no manners or customer service. They never said please or thank you nothing. One girl rolled her eyes while giving me food and said nothing at all. She actually told me I need to shut up. I can't make this up. When I called the store after getting home and paying $7 for sour cream and not getting it she told me to shut up so she can explain herself. As she continued to explain the price difference of the sour cream being on the side. She didn't even listen to what my complaint was.
