    Tempura combo
    Kate X.

We last minute decided to come here on a random Wednesday night for a team dinner. The restaurant was kind enough to accommodate all 9 of us at late notice. We ordered a bunch of appetizers including the lobster tail, baked mussels, karaage, tempura, fried calamari, and some rolls to share like the volcano roll, scallop roll, cucumber roll. We also ordered a sukiyaki and it was easily big enough to feed 2-3 people. The food were all delicious and very reasonably priced. The food arrived very quickly and the service was good. This is a solid restaurant for Japanese food.

Honestly really happy we stumbled into this sushi spot. We came in right before they closed mid day. I was kind of confused because MAPS app said they were open until 9pm but when we arrived we saw they had posted new hours on their door. Idk anyways we made it on time. They seated us quickly and after ordering my bento box , my miso soup came out instantly. The food was very fresh. I loved being able to see the cooks make our rolls. The tempura veggies were very flaky , crispy and perfect. The sushi roll was delicious too. We can't wait to come back . Their lunch bento boxes were a perfect size for me. Their decor is very cute too. Can't wait to come back. 11/10

5 item sashimi (part of combo)

Lunch bento is really cheap for $12. Some dishes are very cheap and fair. The dinner entrees (rolls and combo meals) are also very large. A 2 item combo is $25 and a 3 item combo is $37. Each item is really big (especially the chicken teriyaki!) and the salmon item is almost as big as the separate entree. The 5 item sashimi as part of the combo had thick, fatty salmon but the hamachi sashimi had lots of silverskin. Notes: the salad dressing had peanut and the miso soup is a little sweet imo. It's our go-to sushi spot around because it's a good price.

Portion sizes are quite large. You could feasibly order two rolls between two people and leave content. The two entree set might even be enough for two people on its own. The fish quality though is a bit lacking. It's not as fresh, but the dishes are pretty saucy in an attempt to drown out the fish flavours. In terms of rolls, we got the Lion King Roll and the Volcano King Roll. Both were pretty good flavour wise, and the Volcano King Roll was a very large portion. A lot of people saw our order and decided to get one too. As I said before, the fish wasn't the best. We also got a two entree set with beef teriyaki and chicken katsu. I would avoid the beef teriyaki altogether as it is very tough. The sauce is good though, and pretty flavourful. The chicken katsu wasn't too bad, but they seem to err on putting a lot more batter than usual. Overall, not a bad place. The food quality is lacking, but they definitely make it up in terms of quantity and value for money.

Toki Sushi recently opened in Silicon Valley to the delight of any local sushi lover. The storefront restaurant, nestled in a strip mall, features a comfortable and beautifully appointed Japanese décor. Service was excellent -- friendly and very accommodating. I visited Toki Sushi for lunch and opted for a low-carb meal, starting with their miso soup and cucumber salad. Both were very good, delivering the classic, satisfying flavors you'd hope for. For my main course, I chose the 10-piece omakase sashimi, which included salmon, tuna, hamachi, and albacore. Each piece was a generous portion of exceptionally fresh fish that practically melted in your mouth. I also ordered their toro nigiri, which was equally outstanding. Overall, the sashimi was very filling and deeply satisfying. With its high quality fish and generous portion at a reasonable price, Toki Sushi should continue as a favorite local sushi restaurant serving the Mountain View area for many years to come.

Quite busy with a short wait on a Friday evening. There was no sign-in sheet which was a bit odd, and the seating order was just through an honor system of remembering which parties got there first. Cozy clean interior. We were seated at a booth. We shared the negihama, San Francisco roll, and 10-piece omakase sashimi. Negihama was solid, fish quality was good, minimal but seasoned well. San Francisco roll was pretty good too. Every single piece fell apart as we were picking them up, which made it messy and hard to eat. The fish pieces inside were huge which was great, but just wish the roll was more cohesive. The omakase sashimi was fantastic! The fish quality was really fresh and pieces were thick. My favorite was the tuna sashimi which was super buttery and had the melt-in-mouth feeling. Food came quickly, service was good, solid restaurant overall!

Service was nice, inside had a lovely ambiance, there was a line waiting to be seated or to pick up food and about ~30 seats inside. Lots of parking. Alright that's covered, onto the food. Quick summary of the food if you don't want to read all that: big portions, good fried food, tough beef, mid at best flavorless fish in either rolls or sashimi. The portions are generous and the fried food was done well. I got the combination plate with beef teriyaki and chicken katsu. Both great portions and they came out first. I would get the chicken katsu again but would not get the beef as it was pretty tough to chew. The soft shell crab and the combination tempura were also fried well and well portioned. The shrimp tempura were gigantic. I would come back for these. Now onto the less desired. The quality of fish in either the rolls or omakase were just... not good to say it nicely. The portions and cuts were huge, but the fish itself was watery, flavorless, and had that frozen texture to it. Yes, fish needs to be commercially frozen to be safe to consume, however, this had the texture of cheap fish. Like haven some frozen boba, but in terms of fish. So the omakase had nice big slabs of flavorless fish, of which, the staff didn't inform us of what each fish was. Typically it would be explained as it is the chef's choice after all but it wasn't. Fortunately, we already know which fish was what. The sushi rolls, using the same fish, were also leaving much to be desired. The tropic mango roll had more cream cheese than fish, enough said. The winter roll seemed interesting but had no flavor and was watery from said fish. Overall, big portions with good fried food. As for the fish, mediocre at best.

To avoid the rush hour traffic after an appointment in Palo Alto, we decided to have dinner nearby before heading home. Toki Sushi looked promising in my Yelp search and we were were happy with our first experience. Parking was easy, the interior looked relatively new, clean and spacious. Our waiter was very helpful, a little chatty and very pleasant. We ordered a few items to shar, most of the dishes were quite good. A 10 piece sashimi omakase 4/5 We received a total of 11 pieces of salmon, hamachi, tuna and white tuna combined. The fish tasted very fresh and of good quality, the cuts were also quite generous. One order each of toro nigiri and aemaebi nigiri, both were excellent and reasonably priced. The shrimp was crunchy in a good way which I enjoyed. A roll of double salmon, again fresh and tasty and we were glad to see the salmon on top was more than just paper thin unlike some other places. The only dish we were not impressed was the Salmon Kama on sale for $7.95....very small which was OK but tasted reheated from precooked fish. Not the best. Over all, the sashimi/sushi were excellent and portions were generous for the price. Not too sure about other dishes although portions looked quite large. This is a good new sushi place for us, we'd recommend it to other sashimi lovers.

    Tropic Mango Roll (7 pcs)

Went to Toki Sushi for lunch today to try a number of their special rolls! Great portions and presentation. Our favorite for the taste was the Downtown Roll, it was versatile with different fish on top and unlike the Capital Dream roll still had rice and a nice filling so we liked it a lot. The Capital Dream was slightly fried outside but the flavor of the fish was bland unless dipped in a lot of soy sauce (our preference). We'd skip that one next time. My friend got the Lion King roll (I normally don't order cooked sushi) but it was absolutely delicious and really flavorful with the toppings, our second favorite! The tropic mango roll was interesting on the inside but the mango on it wasn't really ripe/didn't really taste like anything, so we were missing the real mango flavor. The ambiance / interior is really pretty and inviting. The service was attentive. We would definitely come back to try more rolls!

1/27/2026 Toki Sushi 570 North Shoreline Blvd Ste J Mountain View, CA 94043 I went for a solo dinner on a Tuesday evening. It's in the same plaza as the Safeway so lots of parking. It's a nicely remodeled booth and table setup with a sushi bar. It wasn't that busy and I was seated immediately. Service was helpful and attentive throughout. I ordered the Calamari Katsu from the Entrees menu, since Saba Shioyaki wasn't offered. Very average Miso soup, a large bowl of iceberg lettuce salad with a ginger flavored mayo dressing and a large bowl of steamed rice came first. Next was a large mound of deep fried uniform Calamari strips with dipping sauce. The breading was crispy unseasoned and the squid was tender. The dipping sauce was standard and a little sweet, matching well with the Calamari. I brought about half home. Good quality, quantity and value. Since there's no Saba, I may repeat.

We heard about this new sushi place that opened up in the neighborhood and decided to give it a try. We opted to do a takeout, although the place seemed to have a decent interior set up to dine in. We got 4 types of sushi rolls - Jalapeño Special Hamachi, San Francisco Roll (which had a bit of a crunch on top), snow crab California roll and the Spicy scallop roll. The rolls were fresh and tasted great. I particularly liked the San Francisco roll. Food was packaged neatly and price was reasonable.

Surprisingly Affordable! In these high inflation times, Tokio Sushi could easily add 15% to their prices and keep up with Sunnyvale and Palo Alto. Delicious fish and sweet Seaweed salad dressing, excellent salmon karb (steak). The two sushi chefs were so busy it felt like they 'forgot' our order for about 20 minutes. Really like the lighting here, makes for very nice atmosphere.

I was really hoping this would be a *the* place to go to if I wanted to treat myself to omakase without needing to make a trip. At $290 pp, I felt like the menu is worth it for the ingredients but the chef wasn't always able to execute properly. The menu is quite interesting as you get some unique pieces like octopus mouth, but when we had it, it felt a bit chewy. But overall, the menu felt special and there were a lot of bites we enjoyed! Most omakases follow a usual rhythm, and I was definitely surprised here as some pieces were less predictable. We got the five sake sampler and all the sakes were very good! I wish it was more of a pairing style though. I think it would have elevated the experience more if the waiter had shared what kind of bites each sake goes well with. The atmosphere was beautiful and calming - it's what I would expect at an omakase. The service was good but there were times when the waitress collected my plates while I was mid-bite. There were other options like octopus and conch, generally I don't go for those things , but they prepared it really well. All the items were very tasty. My favorite item was the uni with king crab. The Ankimo dish was amazing , extremely fresh and unlike what I've had had other restaurants. We did ask for more wasabi since it didn't seem spicy enough for our taste. They also ask if you'd like to have less rice option as well. By the end of the meal , we were still slightly hungry so we stopped by for dessert at Maison Alyze after.

The space is intimate, with only 8 counter seats, so you're served directly by chef Li. To my surprise, all of the seats were full on a Friday at lunch. I didn't want to drink too much at lunch, but they had a $29 sake flight of three 1.5 oz pours, which was just the right amount to pair with the sushi but still be able to go back to work after lunch! Pre sushi: 1. Pickled baby ginger: I love this stuff, and he was good about refilling it 2. Crab with Japanese citrus jelly and shiso: a generous amount of sweet, fresh crab 3. We also got one of the à la carte add ons: the hand chopped fatty tuna and uni hand roll. To finish: red miso soup At the end, you can watch the chef preparing the bento boxes, which was a good reminder for me to keep my eye out for the next available pickup. The fish was high quality, and the pieces were cut to the right size (I've been to way too many places with unappealingly large cuts). Each course was thoughtfully prepared, and pacing was consistent. For the quality and quantity of food, as well as the service and dining experience, this was a hot deal for $125 a person. We will definitely be coming back!
