CA Roll & 2 hand rolls (Spicy Tuna & Spider)

The sushi here is good, medium quality, and affordable. I got a CA roll and 2 hand rolls for around $20 and they were great! The interior is super casual. Staff are polite and attentive.

Very good bang for your buck! This place is located in the middle of Castro Street amidst a sea of restaurants and shops. I visited for dinner on a Monday evening, and the store was almost entirely empty. The inside was minimally decorated and had plenty of booths. The employees were friendly and efficient. Sushi Arashi's menu was so expansive, with plentiful options for sushi, sashimi, udon, bentos, and more. The dishes I tried were reasonably priced. This probably won't be the highest quality fish you ever have, but it's a very good deal for the price. I tried the dinner combo, which came with miso soup and a heavily sauced salad. My two selections for the combo were the salmon lover roll and spicy tuna roll. Both rolls were solid for their price. Once again, not the most incredible sushi ever but affordable. I also ordered the salmon kama, which was heavily seasoned and came with a small bowl of rice. For its price, it was a good amount of food. If you're looking for a delicious dinner at a reasonable price, this is the spot!

Amazing quality sushi with generous portion! Never had suzuki fish and this place had it in moriawase sashimi. Udon soup was more like sukiyaki-ish sweet. Tempura was well-deepfried and overall all the food was great. Service was decent and would love to visit again!

Lunch Bento - raw fish was not fresh

tl;dr The first time I came here, I had a good experience with the lunch bento. The second time, not so much. Maybe there's some work to be done on fish freshness and consistency. The first time I came, I enjoyed my sashimi that came with my 2 piece bento. The lunch bento comes with miso soup, a side salad, and 2 or 3 options based on your choice. The second time, I ordered the same lunch bento and got sashimi again but swapped the cooked salmon for a katsu. The second time, the tuna specifically was dry and mushy, almost not fun to eat. My husband's meal also had sashimi and was dissapointing in quality. The price for the lunch bento is decent, which is why I took him here after my first visit, but we were unfortunately left disappointed.

    1. House salad with ginger and peanut sauce with iceberg lettuce - it hit the right spot. I loved it. Asked for a second. 2. Hamachi Saba roll - I didn't like the ones with silver pieces. Too fishy. It was just okay 3. Garlic albacore with fried onion - delicious. Idk if the garlic was the friends we made along the way but the fried onions was delicious. Service was very quick. Menu is very expansive so if come by again, I'd try something different for sure.

    Vegetable Udon Pt 1

If you are craving hot vegetable udon, look no further than Sushi Arashi. For 10.95, I got 2 full meals out of this huge vat of vegetable udon so quite a deal for a place on Castro! Service was also so friendly and very efficient, although the udon took a bit longer than the sushi. That being said, I was so happy to have found a vegetable udon that I didn't double check with the waiter if it was purely vegetarian or if it had fish broth, so if you're particular about that, definitely ask in advance! We also tried the fried ice cream that was one of the specials that week. The matcha ice cream could've used more matcha flavoring, but the tempura ice cream was so delicious that we ate the whole thing. I loved it so much that I went back the following week and got another veggie udon LOL. I'll probably be back soon :)

I had been to Arashi many times with friends and family (for both lunches and dinners) after my last review. Even though they could get busy sometimes, we never had to wait for a table. We had tried their various items on the menu. Bentos, sashimi, sushi rolls were always fresh with consistent quality, and they're very affordable. My husband and I were in the area recently and decided to have a quick lunch there. We seated outside since we had our dog with us. Service was prompt and our water was refilled. I liked my two item bento with saba shioyaki and tempura. Everything was on point. My husband enjoyed his 3 item bento as well. Nothing fancy. Just solid Japanese food in generous portion. Exactly what we need after a long walk along Stevens Creek Trail. Until next time!

Dinner Combo 2 Item and 21. Rainbow Roll

Solid little sushi spot. The dinner combo with 13pc tempura and 8pc sashimi for $27 is a great deal. It's not the fanciest inside but the fish quality is surprisingly great. Lots of seating and service is quick.

Walked past every week but never have chance to try it till today. Food is fantastic. We ordered a spicy eggplant roll which comes with tempura eggplant inside, bell pepper that gives it a it a nice crunchy balance and top with that delicious sweet sauce. Also really nice decorated plating! My colleague ordered lunch bento box that comes with salmon and tuna sashimi which he felt was soo fresh and delicious. He said the tuna sashimi was the best he had in the year. I will be back for sure as they have a wide and creative selection of vegetarian rolls I would love to try out - shishito roll, mushroom roll, mango sweet potato, tofu roll etc.

If you're craving sushi, and you're in the downtown Mt. View area I recommend checking this place out. The service was great, and the fish was fresh. It's not crazy expensive too.

Wanted a sushi date and wanted to go back to Mountain View and tried out Sushi Arashi. Place is small so it was expected there'll be a wait but once we were seated, the service and the food were pretty good. Loved our food. Definitely will be back.

How have I never noticed this Sushi spot in Downtown Mountain View! If you're hunting for casual and creative sushi rolls, you got to check out this spot. Their menu is a treasure trove of affordable rolls, sashimi and bentos, that are perfect for any sushi lover. - Omakase Box ($55): A chef's selection of nine types of seafood, including sashimi favorites like salmon, tuna, yellowtail and hamachi, plus decadant treats like sweet shrimp, oyster, uni, and ikura. - Sashimi Combo Deluxe ($39): Dive into an array of 18 fresh sashimi slices, so fresh and beautifully presented. - Treasure Roll: This sushi is a real show. Pick from cherry or apple smoked and watch the sushi get smoked in a wooden box. Packed with flavors from crispy salmon skin, real crab, and toro, topped with a spicy kick from garlic and tobiko. Every bite is a burst of smoky flavors! Although this spot may be pricey due to the location and presentation, it is worth a visit, plus service is attentive.

Checked out this sushi spot in Mountain View. They have a pretty extensive menu to choose from. We ordered a baked sushi roll, a specialty roll, a sashimi platter, and a few sides. The shrimp tempura was nicely fried, and the sashimi pieces were big and thick. The baked sushi roll was flavorful and delicious. Overall, the prices were reasonable for the amount of food we got.

Our favorites: Eighty-Eight Roll and Kevin's Roll (premium rolls). Each roll has 10 pieces, bigger than usual. - Eighty-Eight Roll: loaded with crab, unagi, avocado, salmon, tuna, cucumber and topped with salmon, avocado, spicy tuna, tobiko, and pine nuts. This is their signature, a very light roll with minimal sauce so that you can focus on the natural flavors of fresh seafood. - Kevin's Roll: equally impressive, wonton crisps make it very unique. Roll was loaded with albacore, hamachi, shrimp, and radish, then top with salmon, avocado, pickled wasabi. We also enjoyed the Hamachi Shot, which had fresh hamachi, avocado, and a quail egg yolk served in a shot glass. Each bite has a rich and creamy taste. For special roll (8-piece), we got: - Ching Ching Roll: salmon, tuna, avocado, topped with crispy powder - Daruma Roll: inside (unagi, hamachi, crab, cucumber), topped with hamachi, avocado, jalapeno, tobiko Both were delicious and fresh as well! Service was quick, our food arrived super fast. We left completely satisfied and will definitely be back to try more items from the menu. I feel like the value here is pretty good, especially considering the 3 item bento is only $20.95 which is the cost of a 2 item bento at many other Japanese restaurants. The quality, on the other hand, was just ok. Chicken teriyaki was on the stringy side, sashimi didn't feel super fresh, batter on chicken karaage was soggy (though chicken itself was juicy), and the rolls in the Kakaroto sushi sashimi combo were hot which half-cooked the sashimi which was not great. They also used the same teriyaki sauce on many dishes, including the rolls, the teppan sizzling plate, and even the dipping sauce for the chicken karaage. Didn't feel like the teriyaki sauce for chicken karaage was fitting since it usually comes with a kewpie mayo instead. The prawns in the teppan sizzling plate were also clearly from frozen shrimp and weren't fresh at all. Overall I think the quality was a bit of a miss. Service was friendly though and food came quickly. Miso soups did arrive at different times and we had to request missing ones as they were forgotten.

I was really hoping this would be a *the* place to go to if I wanted to treat myself to omakase without needing to make a trip. At $290 pp, I felt like the menu is worth it for the ingredients but the chef wasn't always able to execute properly. The menu is quite interesting as you get some unique pieces like octopus mouth, but when we had it, it felt a bit chewy. But overall, the menu felt special and there were a lot of bites we enjoyed! Most omakases follow a usual rhythm, and I was definitely surprised here as some pieces were less predictable. We got the five sake sampler and all the sakes were very good! I wish it was more of a pairing style though. I think it would have elevated the experience more if the waiter had shared what kind of bites each sake goes well with. The atmosphere was beautiful and calming - it's what I would expect at an omakase. The service was good but there were times when the waitress collected my plates while I was mid-bite. With only 8 guests total at a time, the quiet atmosphere made for a perfect experience for casual networking. The food itself was also impressive. Although this was my first omakase experience, I have had a handful of sushi dinners before, and this was the best (although a bit pricey). Each plate was a great bite, and there were more than enough plates. Perhaps most impressive of all was the support staff. They took care of everything I would normally expect (opening doors, refilling drinks, clearing plates), but they did so with such grace and consistency that I hardly noticed they were there at all.
