If you are looking for a great dining experience this is the place to go. Teppanyaki is such a fun experience and the food is delicious. This was our second time there and it did not disappoint. The service is excellent and the food is so good. All in all this is a wonderful family evening. I love the shrimp and beef and chicken but being entertained while eating is such great fun. If you have not visited Tokyo gardens you don't know what you are missing. It's addicting.

I can't believe I have not been to this place. We were invited to here for a birthday and thought it was a new restaurant. The ambiance of the place is great and Asian decors on point. I love the koi pond, i think it was a great addition to the restaurant. The price for the teppanyaki meats though were pricey but it tasted really good. I wasn't able to try the sushi though. It was an enjoyable experience. I recommend this place- it's a great restaurant to bring your visitors in town or just celebrating with family or friends.

I haven't been here in a while and now I can't figure out why?! I think this is the best teppanyaki place in town! From the cool koi pond in the lobby to the funny chef Luis, we couldn't have picked a better place for our celebration! The food was delicious! chef Luis cooked all the steak exactly how we requested and the garlic butter sauce he made for the shrimp and scallops was perfection! There were 7 people in our party and everyone was completely happy with their meal. We topped it off with the fried ice cream and the tempura cheesecake! So beautiful and definitely big enough to share!

This was our first time at Tokyo Garden and were pleasantly impressed. The koi pond at the entrance is a very nice touch. We didn't have a reservation, but were accommodated. The ladies are very friendly and are also very funny/ playful. I wasn't expecting that at all. My husband and I shared a Ny steak and chicken Teppanyaki and my son got a sushi roll called "The Thing". The cook was also very funny and got our table to sing happy birthday for our son. There was a charge for sharing a plate, which was expected, but overall it was reasonably priced. Food was good, service was good, We'd definitely come back.

We are here for a birthday celebration this evening, so what is more fun than Teppanyaki for a crowd! James was our chef this evening. He was entertaining and a lot of fun & cooked us a great meal. The food here is always fresh and delicious. You have the choice of Teppanyaki dining, sushi or ordering off the menu. They have a lovely setting with a Koi pond as you enter. A very small sushi bar and table dining if you aren't in the mood for the Teppanyaki table. Very family friendly as well. They have been providing delicious meals in this location for many years. Come try them out.

Such a fun tepanyaki experience! We called in early before coming in to see if there was a spot for the tepanyaki table and glad there was! Our chef was great at entertaining us and did so many cool tricks! The food, especially the scallops, were delicious. Would love to come back again!!

What a show. It was my first time visiting Tokyo Garden on a Friday Night. We had a 7pm reservation for Teppanyaki, but we were not seated until about 7:15. There was a line out the door. We were attended to promptly once seated. The Teppanyaki Chef put on a great show, and the food all had excellent flavor. The portion size was just ok, considering the price tag of 30 dollars per plate. My wife had Salmon Teriyaki, the presentation was nice, but again, the portion size was just ok.

We recently went to Tokyo Garden to celebrate a birthday party. I feel like the service was very rushed and they kept trying to get us out of there. The Teppanyaki was some what bland and wasn't packing as much flavor as you would hope for out of a 40 dollar plate. I will say, the fried rice was delicious and just the right amount of crispy. The sushi rolls were also fantastic! They were both so flavorful and well balanced. Hana Fuji Apple sake was phenomenal and paired well with the sushi rolls. If you're coming for sushi it's an excellent place, but if you're going for teppanyaki there's better places in town!

Last year I made a large reservation for about 10 ladies to celebrate someone and on the way to the restaurant they called to confirm the reservation (about 30 minutes before), but I did not hear my phone. When I arrived, a distraught friend told me that they did not have our reservation so I asked what the issue was. The manager told me because I did not confirm, they were not sure they were going to hold the table. I apologized that I had not recieved a call, but asked if we could still have the table (I was there on time and could see the large table with the reservation note on it). The manager begrungenly said they would allow us to still dine with them, but they said they would not seat us until more of our party arrived. I asked if we could wait for our party at the bar, but they said they would not because every seat at the bar was taken. So just a heads up, you cannot stand at the bar, you cannot stand around the restaurant, and they do not have a place to sit and wait for your table, you just have to stand outside (I'm sure it has to do with safety or firecodes, I didn't argue, we waited outside until people at the bar left). Once we were seated, the staff was not friendly. Wondering if we should leave or not, I called a friend who works near the building who frequents this place often on what I should do. He told me to go back inside and that the staff would be nice. When I returned, a new server came to our table with a tray of shots and said they would be taking care of us for the rest of the evening. I figured maybe the manager and that other server was just having a bad day, my friend must have called the restaurant and asked his most trusted server to help us, and enjoyed the rest of our evening. I didn't want to risk it another bad experience, so I haven't returned since. A few months ago during the whole Cesar Chavez news broke out, that friend who frequented the place went with another friend to the Botonist and was talking about the news while they were dining. The manager overheard. Later when my friends were getting ready to leave, the manager started becoming upset with my friends and told my guy friend, "I HOPE SOMEBODY R*PES YOU". Stunned, he asked her to repeat herself and she did. My friends left. The chefs and building are wonderful, but obviously something needs to be done about the management and staff with being professional and treating customers with respect. I've worked in the service industry and understand how stressful it can be, but I have always been able to keep my cool around people who are trying to enjoy a nice meal. Hoping they recieve the help they need as I love to see my community thrive.

One of my dining companions had the Ribeye with a loaded baked potato. Another had the Filet with bleu cheese & baked potato and lastly the scrumptious lamb lollipops. There was no host stand, no greeting, and no indication of what we were supposed to do. I eventually asked the bartender about our reservation. He seemed mildly annoyed that I had interrupted whatever invisible task he was doing and told us we'd have to wait for the host. So we waited. And waited. Once seated, we ordered drinks and were served warm bread with butter knives. The problem? There was no butter. Instead, there were candles heating cups of drawn garlic butter that nobody explained. The waiter described it as a powerhouse flavor. Imagine garlic butter LaCroix. Technically present, but only as a rumor. The pacing of service was glacial. Not relaxed. Not upscale. Just slow. The entire evening felt like a social experiment where everyone involved was pretending to operate a fine dining restaurant while waiting to see if customers would notice. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, which were apparently a house favorite. I sincerely hope that's no longer true. The filling was confusing enough, but someone decided to glaze them with a sweet sauce that made the entire dish taste like a dare. We took a few bites and surrendered. Then came the steaks. My fiancée ordered the filet medium rare. It arrived with the texture of warm oatmeal and was drowning beneath balsamic reduction and Gorgonzola. The steak itself was so soft and underdone it resembled a pink marshmallow more than beef. My strip steak arrived covered in gravy. Not a sauce. Gravy. To complete the experience, we both ordered baked potatoes. Because surely nobody can mess up a baked potato. We were informed that bacon and sour cream would cost an additional $2. Nothing says "premium steakhouse" quite like nickel-and-diming toppings for a baked potato. By the end of the meal, we were struggling to identify a single redeeming part of the experience. The service was slow. The food was baffling. The atmosphere felt like everyone--staff and customers alike--was participating in the same awkward experiment. Horse in the Alley desperately wants to be a fine dining destination. Unfortunately, wanting and being are two very different things. ***Our server Samantha was very sweet and even comped the stuffed mushrooms. But this was easily the worst $200 I've ever spent.

One of the restaurant's signature touches is preparing the house salad tableside, which adds a nice, classic steakhouse feel. We also ordered the calamari appetizer, which unfortunately was the biggest disappointment of the meal. It lacked the flavor and texture we were expecting.
