First ever visit to this chain. Great, friendly staff. Spring rolls with shrimp were good sized, with a little cup of peanut sauce that had great flavor and texture; not too runny, not too thick. Poke bowl of tuna and brown rice. It's a small.bowl but good amount of rice and tuna; fish is fresh as is the avocado I put on the top. Need more time to study the menu as there are some choices! We are 100% certain my husband got food poisoning from the Tokyo Joes on Parker. We did everything we could to make people aware of spoiled raw tuna served there. Health board was of no help, nor was FDA. The restaurant did not take responsibility , but offered me free food. The CEO said if he paid for our $10,000 hospital bill, they would be admitting guilt. Been to this location a couple of times, each time the food tastes great but the customer service is subpar. The restaurant itself isn't very well set up for many couples/single people parties in at the same time. I've had to observe a 5 person table just for myself because my food was ready and no open 2 seat or 4 seat table was available and there was bad weather outside so that wasn't even an option. I really love TJ's food but this location needs to get a revamp on their customer service and the configuration. read more

Tried this location for a third time giving it the benefit of doubt. I've again is disappoints. The wife thought hers was bad, my chicken tasted and had the texture of leftover heat lamp chicken with no flavor. Even though it's not listed, I HIGHLY recommend ordering it here or any Tokyo Joe's location. I don't usually review chain restaurants because they're not "special," and I don't feel like people need to know about them, but Tokyo Joe's is different. If you don't like my fave dish, there are many other rice, noodle, salad and sushi options. Proteins include chicken, steak, tuna, Mahi, shrimp, and tofu. I stopped in for lunch today I was impressed with the Covid plan . I feel like a lot of restaurants say they are following the Covid guidelines but this place really does. All the employees had masks and gloves on the tables were clearly marked and they have been wiped down and they had big bottle of sanitizer for everyone to use. I called and the girl on the phone offered to remake it if I brought it back. I did, the manager acted like I made it up. He went and tasted it and then said he just got the shipment 2 days earlier-never said they tasted ok. I used to enjoy eating here that is until last week. We went to pick up dinner for the family on a Friday night. When we arrived there were only a few people in line. We ordered four meals to go as well as a California roll. As normal we stepped to the side to wait for our to go order. About 10 minutes later we could see that our meals were done and sitting on the counter waiting to be bagged. Another 15 minutes passes and we noticed that all of the people who had ordered after us had revived their food and were gone. I went up to ask why our food was still just sitting there now 25 minutes after we had ordered and paid. I was told that there was only one person making sushi so they were waiting for the California roll to be made. I told them I was concerned that the other food would now be cold while it sat and waited. I was told it would just be a few more minutes. Another 10 minutes later we could see that not only was our food still sitting there just waiting to be bagged but now so was the California roll. Trying to be patient we waited another few minutes as the young man who was supposed to be getting the to go orders out together was sitting there laughing and taking to his female coworker instead of packing things to get the now very busy to go line taken care of. At this point we were done so I went up and asked for a refund. The Manager told us that he was too busy to go to the back office and enter the credit card refund taken care of and handed us his card and said he would take care of it later. I've ordered 3 times in the past week from them(what can I say, I've had a tokyo joe's craving). All three were delivery. The first order they gave the dasher the wrong order. They got it fixed, but still annoying that I had to place a new order, wait an extra hour for my food, and wait 24 hours for a refund to hit my bank account. The second time they forgot the drink and told the dasher it wasn't there. I also asked for my potstickers pan seared and received them steamed(no big deal though, I like them both ways, just prefer them pan seared). The third the potstickers are torn to shreds and hardly edible. I can typically be pretty forgiving, but 3 orders in a row they have made easily avoidable mistakes. Plus how do you let product go out that looks like crap. Is that the way you want to represent yourself? Tokyo joe's was going downhill before the pandemic, but I thought they had turned a corner when they reopened. Everything was great, but now it's going back downhill. read more

BAD EXPERIENCE!! There was literally like 2 people in there when I got there I placed a ToGo order for a big yakitori bowl, a kids bento box , edamame, and a 4 piece of crab cheese wonton sushi. The teenagers working there were all standing around talking and in their phones. They made no attempt to hurry to get my order ready. Like the food was sitting on the counter getting cold while I watched them all screw around. I waited for 20 minutes while they did that. The sushi and kids bento box tasted fine, although they were cold by the time we got them home to eat them since it was sitting out so long. But the yakitori bowl was wrong the chicken was disgusting (like a tire bc it was so over cooked)and they forgot the sauce. If you want to own a restaurant the first thing you should have is good customer service. I can't stand watching these kids act like it's an inconvenience for them to do their jobs! I would suggest having an older manager there at all times supervising bc whoever was supposed to be doing that was either not or was involved in all the talking and phone crap that everyone else was. I will NOT BE going back to this location. The customer service and food is far better at the Cornerstar location so I will go there instead. I suggest management/ownership teach their employees what good customer service is and also sets higher expectations for what they want their employees to be doing and how to be acting. I will be posting reviews on yelp and anywhere else that has them as well. Business should be earned NOT expected. Get them off their lazy entitled butts or fire them! read more

I'm leaving one of my rare yelp reviews because this place deserves to have a higher rating. I almost didn't try it because of the low rating on here, but I'm glad I did. First off, for being in a strip mall, the atmosphere is not bad at all - it's sort of industrial, yet homey - kind of like an IKEA, if that makes sense. All the employees were super nice - my miso soup was borderline cold and they replaced it right away and apologized profusely. The miso soup was probably my least favorite thing I ordered, but still good, with lots of tofu. The shrimp spring rolls (fresh rolls) were awesome, better than most spring rolls I get at Thai restaurants honestly. I ordered a very custom bowl and the kid who took my order was really nice and made sure to ring it up in the most cost-effective way. The bowl was huge, and I ordered the regular size. A heap of brown rice, tons of veggies, and a good portion of fish. Plus, I added avocado, and I swear they straight-up put an entire sliced avocado on there. I'm very, very impressed with the huge variety of healthy choices they offer, including gluten-free, low/no-carb, sugar-free, and vegan/vegetarian options. I also love that the fish is wild-caught and I love their organic, co-op grown iced tea bar, including stevia-sweetened flavors! Their kids bento boxes also look great and so affordable. I would definitely eat here with my family if I lived in town and this is one chain that I wish would come to where I live (Portland). read more
