Very disappointed again. Bad service. We wanted a quiet dinner, but the host assumed we wanted the beni hana show. I had to explain to him After he dragged us through the entire restaurant. Then when we ordered my wife asked for her steak, medium-rare. My meal came with steamed rice, the waitress tried to get me to get the fried rice without telling me there was an extra charge. My wife's beef came over cooked. We we mentioned it to the waitress, it was as if my wife was lying. A big No. Lastly I paid the bill with a small tip( due to service) and we left Next thing I know the young man who acted as host comes running out and starts asking about the bill in public . Told I had paid and let him know he was an idiot. I do not appreciate this type of treatment. Last time we went to this restaurant the food was so so. We wanted to give them another try. Great service and generous portions. Great value for your money. I've been to this place numerous times for over 15 years. I used to frequent this place when I lived in the area and always busy. Unfortunately they took a big hit during the recession but I am pleased to see their quality never went away. The same people have been working here for over a decade. It's great to see all the same smiling faces for the past 15 years. There are vegetarian options too! To top it all off before I got home I had a fraud alert on my credit card. The charged my credit card $1,161.70. Thank goodness my credit card company notified right away and stopped the transaction. Pretty good. Not authentic but the staff are nice and the food is decent. This used to be the only sushi in lancaster. It is old School. Lots of pictures on the wall of stars that visited and such. The decor is japanese style and theres alot of seating for community type dinners with the teppan yaki style meal. There is a tiny sushi bar too off to the side for a few people topartake in. Teppan style food: It is usually the act that is part of the food experience here and they do a decent job of putting on the act. They do the volcano trick and cracking the egg and some other stuff. They dont do the shrimp flying through the air to peoples mouth as I saw somewhere else long ago. Its entertaining and fun though. I tried the filet with shrimp and they were good. The shrimp were of a good large quality. The meat was tender and not of bad quality, I was actually impressed with the steak. Also had a dragon roll, this was pretty good too. A little larger than other places serve too. Drinks are strong. Not the best quality alcohol but I ordered a well maitai. It was pretty strong. read more

My friends and I came to celebrate a late birthday and we are all black women very visually too. I usually come here with family and have a well experience but today when it was just the three of us we left feeling miffed. The servers and cook were kind and very pleasant but the manager or owner who was bald in a sweater with glasses around his neck sat in a corner and watched my friends and I. Excessively checking on us as if we were going to run and about 3 minutes in to eating made the waitress give us our checks and watched us even when we pulled the money out to pay. It felt very racially motivated as no one, there was a white family that was there longer than us , was treated the same way. To be Black and treated as if we didn't belong in the space or had to be rushed out was very annoying and made us all angry. I am not exaggerating when I say he watched us like a bald hawk making sure to see our every move. This is unfortunately not a safe space for Black people who want to just enjoy themselves and it's especially disappointing because it is by a Black neighborhood so to be treated by a place that benefits from the area of the culture was just appalling. I do hope other Black people especially Black Women heed this warning that this is not a welcoming environment for us at all. read more

It's a bit outdated in the feel, but wasn't dirty. We ordered hand roll, that wasnt to my liking, also the manager that came asked me what it was herself... The sushi rolls are huge and well worth the money, we also got two of the dinner plates from 25 dollars a plate with a good portion but not much flavor and I had my shrimp redone, but they came back perfect the second time. It reminds me of one of those Japanese restaurants from the 70s or 80s that you would see in the movies. Tacky decor. Drinks in extravagant glasses like a buddha or a bowl. They mainly do teppan and cocktails. The waitresses are super nice. The teppan chefs are cheesy and funny. Its a fun time with a group. Pricey, but you get a TON of food. The food is OK. Second time being cheated by the Lancaster Tokyo Steak House. First time we ordered To Go for Lunch the Hibachi Shrimp. When we get there my friend and I receieve the box and open it. Where's the Soup? They tell us that To Go doesn't give out soup. Why? Because they don't have soup bowls. We ask if the price is going to be adjusted accordingly and they say to get soup you have to bring your own bowl. I've NEVER heard of some loony crap like that. We had to go down the street to Subway get a bowl and return to get the soup. And when we get there the waitress didn't want to give us the soup because she didn't like the soup bowl we brought. I should've taken my hint the first time around... Went today with my mother. Both of us ordered Yakisoba. I ordered Shrimp and she ordered chicken. Mom decided that she wanted shrimp added to her yakisoba and the waitress says, "That's just couple dollars more." Couple of dollars? Okay sure. So the food comes out. Soup is great, Salad is awesome, yakisoba is okay (had better). Then she gives us the check. Mine comes out to about $9. Moms comes out to $17?! We ask what was that about and the waitress says that the shrimp added in is an extra $7.00! We told her that SHE told us that it was only a COUPLE of dollars more. The lady tries to take us to the back and show us that a side of shrimp is $7. How in the world could it be $7.00? The meal itself with soup, salad and the yakisoba is $6.95 and since they mixed in chicken and shrimp she got even less shrimp than usual. We point out to the waitress that they basically just charged her for another meal and the woman says that she never told us that it was a couple of dollars. Even though we KNOW she said it was only a couple of dollars extra (because NO ONE in their right mind would order shrimp added in for an additional $7 when the meal itself is $7) We tell her that if it was so drastically different she should've told us that the price was $7 to make sure we were okay paying that much. We have a group of friends visiting in Palmdale and she took us to Tokyo Steak for dinner. I've had Teppan Yaki only once before and I enjoyed myself today. If you're into eating at places the 'famous' have eaten, many of them have eaten here and their pictures are posted on the walls with their autographs.
