My absolute favorite Teppanyaki Grill. I Love their Food, Especially their Fried Rice and spicy Chicken

We went around 4:00PM and the ambiance was nice and calm. There was music playing, they had a great playlist. It had bangers and classics. Music that creates a comfortable atmosphere for the restaurant. They provided a variety of options and great combinations on their menu. There was sushi AND steak?? This is the perfect place to go to if you don't know if you want sushi or steak. This is the place! They also offer teppanyaki, sushi bar, or dining. Our server was Lena, I believe. The service was quick and amazing. They were efficient in ensuring a comfortable dining experience as well as serving the food quick. The food was pretty good too! I've been going to Tokyo Steakhouse for many years for hibachi lunch/dinner and probably enjoyed 90% of visits. The place is kinda dated compared to the other modern hibachi restaurants. Food/Offering: All my experiences have been hibachi (aka teppanyaki). I've never experienced reagular sitting nor do I plan to when visiting. The cooks have been very good in each of my visits and their preparation has always been on point. Service: Service in the hibachi area is also a highlight. One of the servers, the guy with the handlebar stache, has been there as far as I can remember and ALWAYS provides great service. Drinks are always refilled and check up is not overbearing. 5 of 5 stars. Overall: With the emergence of other, more popular spots, I feel the restaurant has lost some of its customers. It's not as busy as it was before but I'm sure they still have their loyal customers. I would still give my business to Tokyo Steakhouse whenever I feel like enjoying a nice hibachi dinner. read more

Only giving it 2 stars because our cook was friendly and a jokester. I definitely had better teppan elsewhere. First time here and the ambience was pretty dead, seems like only regulars go there. Very outdated looking. I ordered the NY steak and added scallops. This place doesn't have combos like other places, they also didn't have anything we asked for like pepper or anything spicy besides siaracha. Place wasn't packed when we came so I don't understand why service was a little delayed. My scallops weren't cooked the way I liked it, a bit on the tougher side. Ugh I used to love this place, but the food and service has really gone downhill. I try not to post too many negative reviews because I never want to bring a small business down, but the service was so terrible that it really impacted me. I called our food in and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes, I was there in about 23 minutes and was told it was not ready. To clarify I had to ask them as they did not ask me or check in on me. I saw bags and food being brought up to the counter and assumed it was mine, but figured if it was they would tell me. However, they didn't. The food was packaged and they didn't call me. After about ten minutes I decided to walk over and ask and they told me if was my order. I told them I had been sitting and she did not say anything about that and just told me my total. I paid and then realized the person helping me was the manager. She never said thank you or sorry or anything at all. When we got home we realized our sushi was bagged with our hot food and then our sushi was warm. None of the food was amazing. There are so many other sushi places with good food and amazing service, which I rather support. read more

Decent teppenyaki presentation. Nice fellow who i could barely hear or understand. Not too sure if I was served proper filet mignon since it was a bit tough and chewy. Enjoyed being the only other couple in there so will try a different protein next time. Hopefully with more flavor. read more

First time customer. Service was great. Our waitress took the time to explain everything to us. We both ordered the tempura chicken boat (it came in a miniature wooden boat). Everything on the boat and the side of rice was done to perfection. Generous portions of teriyaki chicken. The tempura shrimp and veggies was delicious dipped in the tempura sauce. There was so much food that we had to get takeout boxes. It's going to be good for dinner today! My wife and I plan to go back soon to try the beef boat, which looked fantastic! read more

First I would like to say the service there was so slow. It was not even busy the day that we went and it was so hard to get a servers attention. Our teppanyaki chef though was fun and kept conversation going. I remember a while back, which I hadn't been in years since it's so far from me now, it use to be pretty good but after visiting this last time I won't be going back at all. The food was mid and they had nothing to give us for added spice besides sriracha. We ordered a teppanyaki plate to share with extra fried rice and the portion was pretty small. I've been to plenty of teppanyaki restaurants and always share a plate with extra fried rice and still have plenty of leftovers. Just took my Wife out for dinner for her birthday to a place we have visited for years. But it looks like will have a find a new place. Food is still good but the prices have gone up quite a bit. I would say around 50%. I know cost has gone up, but not that much. read more

Ambiance: There is a lot of indoor seating and we only had to wait ten or so minutes to get seated on a Friday night. The staff were super friendly! They kept asking us if we needed anything and were very attentive. Taste test: This was my first time at a steakhouse and I will say that the food was good! I'm usually not a fan of Miso soup but the one here was tasty There was no powerful flavor that is usually offsetting to me. The rice was flavorful and if you want it to be more spicy you can ask for a sriracha. The noodles and chicken were cooked well and had a nice flavor to them. They give you lot of veggies! I don't know what happened to this place over the years but the quality in food has gone drastically down. It's the lazy Japanese food for me. We walked into the restaurant with an empty dine-in side (which was a sign) but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. But unfortunately, here are their 3 strikes for me. First thing you'll notice is that prices here are very expensive. So obviously, everyone is there for teppan. Probably because if you're going to pay these prices, you might as well get your bang for your buck. So do that. Second, the sushi here is really pricey. An average roll is like $20 now and it states on the menu that it'll take a minimum of 20 minutes. On top of that, the miso soup is really watered down and tasteless. It was like tasting sweet water broth. Very basic food for crazy prices. Third, the host service wasn't welcoming. The waitress that took our order felt really nonchalant and like going through the motions. The one star will be for Tim, he was the food runner who only seemed to care if we were okay and needed anything. All in all, I wouldn't say this place is a true Japanese restaurant. It's very inauthentic and doesn't hit the spot. I will say, the only spot it hits is your wallet. Decent for teppanyaki, but definite miss for dine-in. read more

Great food, great staff and filthy bathrooms. The food here is so good like the bacon fried rice is delicious! The teppenyaki chefs always do a great job. That being said, the bathrooms are filthy. I normally do not write reviews, but last night dinner is worth my review. Very disappointed in the chef. He did not interact with our group. No jokes, no heart beat with the rice, no fireworks and no onion volcano with fire. I love their fried rice which is the only reason why I go. The fried rice was cooked within minutes and while he was filling the bowls up with rice I noticed that he didn't cook any eggs. I asked about the eggs and he said no eggs because of the "shortage" of eggs. I am no fool, it's because of the cost of eggs. Now, eggs in the rice does not change the flavor, but the rice had no flavor at all. The vegetables had too much liquid (oil, soy sauce and teriyaki sauce) that my plate was full of it. At one point I had to drain the liquid off my plate onto an empty plate. The chicken and steak had no flavor. But another experience to our dinner; when the chef was putting the food on our plate, he dropped our food on the table and he picked it up and put it on our plates. He did that to 3 of us! Gross! Tables are not clean even if they wipe the tables down. Last, he cooked the noodles of the leftover seafood burnt area. Ruined the noodles. Could only taste a fishy taste. We've been going here yearly for the last 20 years. We are done going here. All they do is increase the price and give you less. And now the experience is not worth the cost. read more

We ate here last night and had teppanyaki. It was a Friday night and there were 6 people there. We ordered the calamari appetizer and it was so overcooked it was like eating rubber. Mother called and ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll that the worker happily recommended. She also ordered the Tokyo Crunch Roll and their baked mussels. The worker was very nice and said it would be ready in 25 minutes. We went to get it. The order was ready and the workers were kind! Clean, safe and practiced restaurant! Lunchtime! I got everything ready and split evenly per usual. The baked mussels were flavorful and fantastic! The Tokyo Crunch Roll was fresh and tasty! Even better with the wasabi and soy sauce! Crunchy and delicious! Same with the Spicy Tuna roll. It came with ginger and wasabi and that was great as well! My mother said hers was really great! Update: (totally forgot to update my review so now I am!) I ended up calling the restaurant the next day to tell the manager about my friends and I getting sick. Her attitude was awful. It felt like I was being interrogated and almost like she was suspicious of me? She said "we served over 200 guests and you're the only complaint we've received" and "I wish you told me when you were here because I'm the manager on duty" which makes no sense?? How would I tell her while I'm there if I got sick as soon as I got home... absolutely horrible customer service. read more

I've been a customer for many years. I love their sushi signature rolls, Kamikaze Roll and Tokyo Crunch. Their sushi always tastes amazing and their customer service for regular dining is always good. Regular dine-in has limited tables as they also offer teppanyaki so majority of their space is taken up for that. They decorate indoor for the holidays such as for Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Halloween. Parking lot is spacious but because there are a few big businesses in the same lot it can fill up on the weekend. read more

I love Teppanyaki but have only been here once before, we came for a family dinner and there were enough people on our party to take up a whole table but I'm not sure what the seating would be like if there are less than a full table. The service was fine, there were no issues but also no memorable interaction with our Teppanyaki chef. Overall the food was good no complaints we split a dinner plate and ordered an extra rice between my fiancé and I and we still had leftovers so the portions were good. We had the steak and scallops and the steak was more well done than I prefer but it was still good. In comparison to other local teppanyaki restaurants this once does seem overpriced. Overall it was a pleasant experience but I wasn't impressed. read more

Wanted so bad to give this place more stars, but this is even a stretch. Been coming here for years because I love their sushi, fried rice and hot and spicy sauce. This time I placed a take out order. It literally took me 28 times to get through on the phone. I placed the order and my son picked it up. When he got home, the order was a mess. I ordered a sushi roll that didn't come (fortunately they didn't charge me for it). My son ordered the Tokyo Combo but it was missing the tempura shrimp and vegetables and chicken wings. Another 20 attempts to get a call through and the guy offered to have my son come by and pick up the rest of his meal, which he did. No discount or anything additional to make up for the mistake was offered. The fried rice, hot and spicy sauce and tempura vegetables were very good, but that's the extent of my warm and fuzzy feeling about this place. Today, I was reminded of why I don't eat here. Food was decent, our chef was still new so he did the best he could to cook our steak to the desired scale. However, the SERVICE is what i'm rating this review on. Our waitress (the tall Asian chick) was unfriendly immediately upon meeting. She was impatient and rushed us to order our drinks and food and purposely skipped our teppanyaki table multiple times to avoid refilling our drinks. When we did get a hold of her, I asked for refills on waters and napkins. She came back with both but as my sister asked for another refill she responded with a harsh "give me a second!" later we when asked for another "water" refill, she replies again by slamming our glass down on the counter with "I need my tray!" please take the $20 tip from my brother and attend to a shop to fix that attitude. read more
