Dined on a Tuesday night and oh boy, the service was extremely different from our previous experiences. I was shocked at the difference. We were immediately seated with no wait time. The chef arrived after just a few minutes and started cooking and cooked all our orders (we were a party of 8) simultaneously that time the rice and meats were cooked was not too far away. Luckily, we got a better chef this time and he knew what he was doing and did it properly too. He also did a couple of tricks while cooking which entertained us (and we had some guests with us too). The food as always was great. I ordered seafood combo and a side of chicken and noodles and enjoyed my dinner. I highly recommend dining here when they're not busy.

Went here on a Monday; it was fairly busy and packed when we left. We were told our table would be ready around 5:00 PM, but we sat down around 5:15 PM. Our chef was very kind and chatted to us. The filet mignon was incredible, and now I'm always craving it. You definitely get lots of food and meat. My sushi was good. I asked for no cream cheese in my roll, but it was still there (I was too hungry to mind). Overall, I really enjoyed the restaurant!

The service here is consistently excellent. I love the burst of aroma from the teppanyaki as you walk in--it instantly sets the tone for an enjoyable dining experience. The sizzling sounds and rising smoke from the grill top combined with the clatter of the utensils create a warm and inviting atmosphere as the chefs cook in front of you. The bacon fried rice soaked in the bacon was flavorful and the new York strip paired with their two sauces were cooked perfectly. Beef Sashimi with their slightly sweet tangy soy based sauce is a must have. Tender, medium rare and smoky taste. The spider roll was proportionate and tasteful.

We really contemplated coming here because of the terrible reviews, but our two other go to places were closed and we had a birthday to celebrate. Anyways.... here was my takeaway. Cleanliness was not there...the restaurant really is not super clean, but I kept telling myself that the grill would cook off anything that could potentially be icky. Food...the bacon fried rice was delicious. Steak was average and the veggies were mainly onion with a couple zucchini, mushroom and sprouts sprinkled in. The sauces is where I got confused. The "yum yum" sauces was spicy and thick but mainly tasted like mayo. The typical "ginger" sauce was not ginger...it was teriyaki sauce and that was not a vibe. The soup was delicious and the salad dressing had good flavor at the beginning but it was overall just too salty. Teppanyaki is typically a "show" but here it is not. Our chef poured the eggs out of a bowl where they were pre cracked. No onion volcano, no beating rice heart, no huge fire opening, no boy peeing to put the fire out, no throwing chunks of raw veggies into people's mouths....NOTHING. This was a first. Would we give this place another chance? Maybe if the other two are closed again but it's not a first choice.

Meet my friend for early dinner to beat the busy crowd. Beautiful decor. Waiter was friendly and prompt. We order the japanese style dinner. My friend ordered the chicken and shrimp I had the chicken and scallops (could have been cooked more). No worries because so much add on i took most home to recook the scallops anyway lol. Dinner came with soup, salad and bacon stir fry rice w all the fixings. Sooooo good. The chef was fantastic. He didn't do a fancy show but that's ok. Price was under $30.

We celebrated our cousins birthday here and the food was delicious. The aesthetics could have been better, perhaps a lighter feel to it. Just felt dark and dated. The Chef was just there to cook the food, wasn't any enthusiasm or entertainment just someone standing there preparing your meal on the hibachi. The bacon fried rice was different but tasty at the same time. The salad was delicious and the soup was surprisingly tasty as well. The teriyaki sauce was the best! I would definitely recommend eating here if you like Hibachi dining. Last but not least the bar was not stingy with the liquor, always a plus.

I said 3 years ago that I would probably never come back to this Tokyo Steakhouse based off of my last review, but I am pleasantly surprised to say that we came back last night and had a great time. My Aunt from Alaska was in town for the holidays and wanted to come check this place out. When we arrived around 4:30pm, it was already pretty busy - we waited about 20 minutes before they seated us. The inside seemed fairly clean, I saw the tables being sprayed and wiped down, but the chairs seemed sticky and I did not check out the bathroom. All 8 of us ordered the dinner combos, I went with the Chicken and New York. We were all big fans of the Bacon Fried Rice and I thought my steak was cooked pretty well, but my chicken was a tad dry. Everyone seemed to like their food and our Chef was great - he was very friendly, made jokes and interacted with our whole party including my 8 year old daughter. Our server who brought us our drinks, salads and soups was also very friendly! Based off of last night, I'd say we'll definitely be coming back again now! Don't forget to tip your Chef!

The staff was very friendly and the good Portions were worth it! We had plenty of food for leftover lunch! Ps. The bacon fried rice is the very best!

Over the years, I've been here a few times and enjoyed every single time. Bacon fried rice? Need I say more? This restaurant offers teppan yaki (hibachi), traditional dining, and sushi. I've been for dinner and enjoyed sushi. There's been times when I've gone here with a big party, a double date night or even just my husband and I for a date night. During each visit, we got seated in a reasonable amount of time, the employees were really nice, and the chef made the food fresh to order. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot and the surrounding parking lot. Next time you find yourself out in Natomas, consider coming here for lunch or dinner.

TLDR: NASTY! I will NEVER go here again. Went with daughter. Daughter wanted marble soda. Ordered. Soda, although sealed was nasty like they retrieved it from rolling around in a dark grimy space. Wish I got pictures. Asked for something else. Got one without grime. Now I'm on alert. Food was brought to me. All our chicken, beef and steak was on the lowest level of the cart next to my feet. The sauce bottles yall! Look at them! I'm done will never eat there ever again! You shouldn't either

The kids absolutely love it, and it's always such a great experience for everyone. The food is consistently delicious, my daughter is obsessed with their fried rice, and honestly, everything we've tried has been so good. The chefs are entertaining, and the whole teppanyaki experience makes it feel special every time we go. What really stands out to us is how incredibly accommodating they are with food allergies. One of our friends has a severe gluten allergy, and my husband is allergic to dairy and eggs, and the staff goes above and beyond to make sure their meals are prepared safely. They cook their dishes separately with dedicated cookware, and we've never had a single issue, which gives us so much peace of mind. We also went for my birthday this year because my daughter specifically requested it, and it was another wonderful experience. The staff is always friendly, kind, and attentive, and you can tell they genuinely care. We always leave feeling happy, full, and taken care of, never any issues afterward, just a great meal and great memories. Highly recommend!

I grew up on Benihanas (Burlingame), Sakura (Redwood city), and other similar style restaurants. We had dinner here a couple of years ago and thought it shut down. But I called the other night to see if they were still in business and they had re-opened. Lynn and Leo were spectacular. She was the hostess and Leo was our Cook. They were both personable, friendly, fun, courteous, and the food was fantastic. I feel the prices were descent with the amount of food that comes with the meal. They have the big sit-around grills just like their competitors and a similar show on the grill to get the guests excited and keep them happy. We were lucky that our chef/cook had worked for one of his competitors prior to his career at SoHo. So he had the best experience and training. The dressing on the salad was a this delicious mayo-base dressing with a hint of lime maybe cilantro but very creamy and refreshing when going down. The Teppanyaki was cooked perfectly. We had the steak and shrimp. One steak was medium rare- and the other was medium. The shrimp were cooked exactly how they are supposed to be. Pink, edible & not rubbery at all from over cooking. The onion soup was good for someone who is not an onion soup fan. I still gave it 5 stars. The Vegetable medley was cooked Al-dente and the garlic butter was delicious. I highly recommend this place for a fun family night, a work party, birthday party, small corporate luncheon or event. Call ahead of time for big groups. Friday nights and Saturdays are busy. So are Sundays. Walk-ins are welcome. Please if you visit, leave them more reviews. I will definitely be coming back and making recommendations to both my friends and family. Shanna Flanigan

This is honestly one of the hardest reviews I've had to write because Wasabi Japanese Restaurant…read morehas been our go-to sushi spot for years. When I say years, I mean years. We know the family, we've celebrated special occasions here, and there was a time when we were coming in almost weekly. This has never been just another restaurant for us, which is why this review makes me so sad. We placed our order around 5:00 pm and I ended up waiting until almost 6:30 pm for our food. To be fair, they were incredibly busy and appeared to be short staffed, so I tried to be patient and understanding. While I was sitting at the bar waiting, I was informed that several of our rolls had been made with all the sauces on them despite us specifically ordering them with no sauces. Normally that might not sound like a huge issue, but we don't order them that way just because of preference. My husband and daughter cannot tolerate spicy foods, which is why we always ask for sauces on the side. What surprised me most was how the situation was handled. There was no offer to remake the rolls. After waiting an hour and a half, I was simply handed the order, given an apology, and sent on my way. Unfortunately, once we got home, it became clear why that mattered. Much of the sushi couldn't be enjoyed the way it was intended because of the sauces. Sushi isn't inexpensive, and it was frustrating knowing that after such a long wait, a large portion of the meal wasn't something my family could comfortably eat. I also ordered my usual Mixashimi salad, which has been one of my favorite items on the menu for years. When I got home and started mixing the fish with the dressing, I noticed dark lines running throughout several pieces of fish. I don't know exactly what they were, but it was enough to make me uncomfortable. After taking a closer look, I ended up throwing the entire salad away. What makes this review especially difficult is that this wasn't one bad first impression. This was a restaurant we genuinely loved and recommended to people. That's why this visit felt less disappointing and more heartbreaking. Restaurants have off nights. Mistakes happen. Being short staffed happens. I can give grace for all of those things. What was harder to overlook was waiting an hour and a half, receiving an order that wasn't prepared correctly, not being offered a solution, and then coming home to a meal that largely ended up in the trash. I truly wish I was writing a different review because Wasabi has been part of our family's story for a long time. Unfortunately, this visit left us feeling like it may be time to find a new sushi spot. Helpful tip: If you have dietary restrictions or specific preparation requests, double check your order before leaving, especially during busy periods. This is one review I never thought I'd be writing.

When we walked in I knew I was in the perfect spot-this bar has those low lights that all the bars in the 70s and 80s had-giving off a both romantic and mysterious vibe to it-I was in love with the place from that moment on. The music that day was awesome-I heard they have live music at times but at the time of my visit they did not-they were instead playing 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop-it was wonderful-one banger after another-so yeah I was vibing. Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. We ended up going with a few drinks that day. -Strawberry Negroni-($13.00)-This one blew my socks off-my favorite drink in the works is a Negroni but this bar makes a Strawberry version of it and let me tell ya-it's dynamite-10/10 rating -Old Fashioned-($12.00)-This is my go-to order at most bars because it's pretty reliable and most bars can make a decent one and I'd say they make a very solid one here-8.2/10 rating -Cucumber Gimlet with Tequila-($11.00)-This drink was made with lime-sweet vermouth and tequila-it was very refreshing and went down way too easy-rating 8.4/10 -Mezcal mystery drink-($12.00)-This was a drink the bartender made that after we declared our love for the smokiness of mezcal-I wouldn't be able to ask for it again unless I got the same waitress but if your a mezcal lover like I am-this drink was top of the line-smokiness intensity off the charts-9.1/10 rating So a little about the place that I picked up during my visit-I guess they serve food-I didn't know that but after my 2nd drink I looked back and saw this entire dining area with table side grills-so I guess the customers cook their own meats and such-pretty cool concept-my visit was strictly a drinking visit so I didn't partake but it looked pretty cool. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.

I was contemplating ordering from the ala carte menu but looking at those prices and comparing it to the AYCE price of $21.99, I decided to bring my mom to lunch. I checked the menu and made sure she had some good options to choose from. We showed up at 1:30 and got the lunch price. For my first round we got the Beef Fried Rice, the Snow Mountain roll (with soy paper wrap extra $1 charge), 2 tempura shrimp, tempura sweet potato, teriyaki beef and hibachi steak. Mom got the crab ramen and spring rolls. The Snow Mountain was so good and had 8 pieces! The tempura was crisp and crunchy, not overly flavored. The batter on the sweet potato tempura was a little too thick. Mom loved the ramen but thought the broth was very fishy. So she tried another ramen, this time the beef. We ended up getting another order of steak hibachi and the fried rice. The fried rice was Japanese style, no peas or carrots and has more of a toasted rice taste. I love it. The service was very quick, with the small plates being cleared right away. Food came out just as fast and I love the portion sizes, not enough to fill you up and everything goes well together. Our server helped recommend a few dishes and he did a great job. It wasn't particularly busy for a Wednesday afternoon, but there was sufficient staffing and the place looked great. I will definitely be back with my family on a weekend. They had booths and tables. As far as pricing, we paid about $56 before tax for the food, plus a $1 charge for the soy wrap and 2 sodas at $3.75 each.

The quality and flavor were outstanding. My only criticism was that it felt like they were trying to get us in and out as quickly as possible. There were literally seven unused grills, and the moment our food hit our plates, the check was brought to the table. Our fountain drinks were never refilled, and we weren't offered dessert. Since the restaurant was fairly empty and we wanted to stay a little longer, we went to the bar ourselves and ordered another round of drinks. We also had to ask if dessert was available before ordering it. Again, the food and entertainment were fantastic, which is why we'll likely be back despite the drive. But from a customer perspective, if tables are open and guests are still enjoying themselves, continuing to offer drinks, refills, and dessert opportunities can go a long way toward enhancing the overall dining experience. Has someone in the business drinks are what pay the bills.

Haven't had hibachi in a while, maybe 3 weeks Lol Frequent visitor of Kobe Steak & Sushi hibachi…read moreas this spot is conveniently nearby (been to other hibachi spots in the area as well). It was quite busy with all the grills fired up. This place is quite big and spacious with dining booths, clean and organized. Plenty of parking as well. Went to this spot before going to the movies to see Greenland 2: Migration (good movie, lots more emotional parts so heads up if you're the type of lady who cried watching The Long Walk). Got seated at the hibachi bar fairly quick once entered the place and provided with a menu. Already knew what we wanted. Ordered medium rare ribeye and shrimp combo with fried rice. $40 a plate. Also got hot tea. The cook did his usual entertainment and tricks. He did the flaming onion volcano, food (broccoli) flip, sake drink spray, etc. Food was cooked nicely and delicious!!! Ribeye was medium rare as requested and the shrimp was tasty!! Always gotta have some yum yum sauce too. This spot gets quite lit with the interactive entertainment and birthday drum/gong. It's a vibe!! This place already adds gratuity automatically as part of the bill so be aware. They also have dine-in discount cards (I have a few) plus a loyalty rewards card. With to go orders, will be back again soon.

It had a very prominent cold storage/ fridge taste. I tried and tried to eat it but the taste was definitely there. It was not fresh and not edible. We got a sake cocktail that was just meh. The sushi was okay. Can't complain. The service is really really slow. My husband and I don't mind waiting and relaxing for dinner. But we finished eating around 30 minutes in and then waited another 30 to get a check and they weren't in any rush. Maybe the etiquette is different but that shouldn't be the norm. we couldn't even make eye contact to get someone's attention. We eventually stood up and went to find someone. That's okay and all but the anxiety it causes to not know how to close out is just not professional. Won't be back. Don't want stale cucumbers and begging to close out.
