This was a slightly novel take on the oft-used sandwich shop idea, but the execution just wasn't up to par. I ordered the beef bacon sandwich on wheat berry with smoked gouda, dill pickles, and dijon mayo. The toasted bread was good, the beef bacon interesting but not as flavorful as I would have liked, average gouda, and the dijon mayo had a slightly pungent bite reminiscent of hospital disinfectant. To make sure it wasn't my taste buds having an off day, I compared it to a homemade dijon mayo mix of my own which tasted fine. This was most likely just the unexpected taste of the mustard's white wine or vinegar component being one that I'm not familiar with, or even the brand or type of mayo since that wasn't specified. Olive oil mayo, for instance has a widely varied flavor depending on the brand, and even between a brand's batches. TOM+CHEE might be for some folks, but at $8 for a sandwich with no drink or sides, I probably won't return. read more

My first time in I was greeted very promptly along with hearing the business story from the manager. She proceeded to tell me all about the menu and gave me samples of the soups. I was immediately sold. I ended up getting the kickin chicken sandwich with a cup of creamy tomato basil and a bowl of chicken pot pie (or it could have been turkey. Either way it was delish) for another time. The food was no more expensive than any other sub shop around town and I loved the sweet service. Very expensive - over $30 for 2 small sandwiches and 2 cups of soup. Service was spotty - the women were very nice and quick and with it, but there was this really rude and grumpy man who interrupted our cashier while she was taking our order and made her go bus tables! Then he refused to give us cups for the fountain drinks I paid for, and made us go FIND them ourselves. NOT COOL. The other of us got the tomato basil soup - heavy on the basil, lacking totally any salt or other seasoning, plus it was lukewarm instead of hot. Her sandwich was the turkey and cheese. I got the chicken tortilla soup, which was tasty enough, but lacked tomato flavor despite large chunks of tomato, and, again, lukewarm. My sandwich was the chicken ranch. The sandwiches were small, slightly on the burned side, and not filling at all. The bread was insubstantial, the cheese barely there, and the fillings were all on one side instead of evenly throughout the sandwich. They were also rather bland and lukewarm. For a grilled cheese sandwich, it was very disappointing. For that price, I expect to leave satisfied, not hungry. I probably won't be back since there are many other restaurants in the area that are tastier and less expensive. read more

Pretty tasty soup and sandwiches. You can customize the cheese you use and they have plenty to choose from. We ordered Tater tots and tomato soup as sides to our sandwiches. Probably can be made similar at home but if you're lazy to cook or out and about and hungry I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot. I'd go back for sure. Hubs had The Flying Cow and tomato soup; I had the Green Goat. We both left happy and full, but we found the prices high given what we had. To be honest, I'd just as soon support The Mule when Hubs wants a grilled cheese "sammich," as The Mule's fully locally owned and not part of a chain. (We try to keep all our dollars fully local whenever possible.) Also, this place is quite a hike from our home in Midtown, soooooo . . . The manager (franchisee?) is friendly and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better simple lunch! The melts are perfectly gooey inside and toasted well. I had the Flying Cow (cause I love gouda, and the pickle addition seemed interesting), with a white chicken chili soup. Both were fantastic! The worst eating/ordering experience I have had in years!! We attempted to make a phone to go order, got rudely pasted around to four employees. They were annoyed that we called. None of which could even understand how to take my card number. Finally we gave up and placed a online order through Google/Post/Mates for Pickup. On the order it showed no fees since we were picking up the food ourselves. When picking up our food we were asked to sign their original receipt which was $10 more than what I paid. Then we were given our bags. Once we made it home we realized they did not even give us all of our food! So I have now paid almost $18 more for the hidden charges and missing food. The food we did receive was awful tasting, greasy, soggy. Absolutely OUTRAGEOUS!!! read more

I almost gave this a four, it's right on the borderline. The girl that served us was super friendly and helpful when I put in a special order. The grilled cheese we ordered were really tasty and cheesy and melts, but the soup seemed a little canned. The Mac and cheese side was a four outta five, very good. The thing tipping the scale was the cost. I got a grilled Philly plus soup and that was $12. Or my husband got a sandwich plus tater tots, also $12. Guys this is a must try! I saw the guys who started this on Shark Tank years ago, but didn't have an opportunity to try it out until now while visiting the area. I just went 2 days in a row it was that good. I ordered the West of Philly sandwich, and man is it packed full of delicious flavors! I also had a chocolate chip cookie which was super tasty. The staff were very friendly and the GM Rocky even came and chatted with me for a bit. Please please go check this place out! I remember seeing these guys on Shark Tank a few years ago, so when I stumbled upon it while visiting OKC, I had to try it. First off, the staff is great. Alexis at the register was super helpful, and offered a taste of their soup of the day(chicken cordon bleu). I tasted it, and it was good. I initially wanted the tomato basil, so she let me try it. It was good. Then she suggested the classic tomato, so I tried it. It was the best of the three, so that's what I ended up with. I also had the crunchy garlic chicken sandwich, and it was excellent. Today I got the Chicken Bacon Ranch just to switch it up a little bit and, while it's not as mind blowing as the one I normally get, it is still a phenomenal sandwich. Firstly: I almost never leave a review. It's either got to be so awesomely fantastic I'm blown away OR so bad it couldn't have gone worse. This place didn't seem like much when driving by but my friend and I were pretty hungry and we have very few options where we can eat out as we both have food allergies to consider. We called ahead to clarify if they had viable options. They are gluten free - as in they actually have gluten free bread as well as an allergen protocol when preparing food. With people in my family being allergic to wheat it's fantastic to find a place that serves good food that isn't just 'the innards of a sandwich on a plate'. I HATE when places are like 'yeah we have gluten free' and it's literally everything in a bowl, that takes ZERO effort. This place had actual gluten free bread AND quite nearly everything on their menu can be adjusted for that and I don't just mean the bread, literally almost any ingredient can be adjusted. The food was rather pricey for being what it is BUT it was delicious, had good presentation, was a decent sized portion, and best of all great customer service. Shone was our cashier/server and she was helpful, friendly, and attentive. Shone really did a fantastic job at checking on people at tables to see if they needed or wanted anything. She was quick to bring it out too. The cooks in the back - sorry I don't know your names - did a fantastic job making the food quickly and making sure allergen things didn't mix. We have this place pinned as a quick go-to now mostly because everyone in the family can eat it and not have to 'settle for a salad again' or bring their own lunch box with. Placed an online order for lunch on a weekday. They were pretty busy and the order wasn't ready when I arrived, they gave me a free drink while I waited and it wasn't a big deal. I ordered a sandwich and a side of Mac and cheese as I thought the sandwich may not be filling enough... oh man I was wrong.
