Great service, seated right away late on a Tuesday night. Live music was very good, we had one speaker near us that was a little too loud but waitress had it turned down for us :) I had the blue lump crab cakes, awesome flavor, and I am a crab cake fanatic! The Pina Colada cake is a touch of heaven I highly advise you give it a try. Tried to find a nice spot for dinner tonight. Walked by the place and checked with the hostess whether there is availability for a party of 3 for dinner (we didn't have any reservation). She said that they are fully booked for the night. After we left, we checked Open Table and there was plenty of reservation for a party of 3 later that night around 7:45 pm. Not sure if there was a misunderstanding but the hostess didn't even bother to check anything before answering us. Made us feel like she didn't want us to eat at the place. Hostess is the first impression guests get at any restaurant - pretty surprised an upscale restaurant like Tommy Bahama gave off such a bad vibe. Greg was incredible. He thought of all the small touches to make this meal top notch. We were there for Sunday Brunch. We had fresh out of the oven bread. Delicious crab cakes - the best I've ever had. Banana fosters French toast - so sweet, but too good to pass up. Filet and eggs with a filet that sliced with a butter knife it was so soft and tender. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Yummy fish tacos but the chips were not the best this time. Everyone was very friendly, but Greg was amazing. He was very attentive and took great attention to detail. Our drinks were never empty. He brought us some delicious salt. He even gave us ladies a napkin to place on the seat so that we didn't get waffle legs. It would be nice if they offered a cushion for those with exposed legs. He was very informative. He knew so much on where the food came from and how it was cooked. He was a wealth of knowledge. Always coming to Tommy Bahama and ordering the same dish, Miso King Salmon. The Miso King Salmon is full of bold flavors. The shiitake mushrooms and bok choy are sautéed in miso glaze, over a bed of rice. Every ingredient in the dish complements one another and it is a perfect blend of flavors. As for the service, it was amazing! The staff visited our table and greeted us various times at our stay. They ensured that we were well taken care of; and we definitely were! Swing by during island hour (2-5pm) and save some money with $5 off starter apps & specialty cocktails, or order like I did and go for surf & turf (slider, blackened mahi mahi taco) served with a local beer. Perfect pairings! Service is professional and social with just the right blend of decor, lively local & tourist patrons as well as this stunning HI weather. Ambiance: This is such a beautiful restaurant and in such a great location in my opinion. It is on the second story of the Wailea Shopping Mall and you are faced behind with beautiful palm trees. We got lucky to sit outside with the nice fresh air. The setting and the decorations are very beachy! We also had great live music playing, Overall great place for a date night dinner. Service: Our server Ethan was so polite and sweet. He gave my boyfriend a great recommendation of food as well. He even gave us hot towels to wipe our hands after. He had such a bubbly and happy personality that made us all in such a great mood. This guy really just wrapped the whole night up with the great luxury experience with a smile :) Food: I had the Lobster Mac and Cheese as their special for the night. It was delicious and creamy, cooked perfectly and the lobster had so much flavor. The touch of the bell peppers threw me off a little tho. But the actual meal itself was to die for. I could not stop eating. My boyfriend had the Guaza Glazed BBQ Ribs which were his "new favorite ribs of all time". The ribs were super tender, and had a great crust. The meat is super lean as well, with incredible flavor. The glaze over the ribs just threw it all together. The slaw and the mashed potatoes fit together, and was incredibly delicious. Price: This place is DEFINITELY on the pricey side, so if you are looking for a spot on a budget this is NOT the spot for you. We met up with friends for a birthday celebration at Tommy Bahamas. The reservation was for 16. They weren't quite ready at our 6:00 time but no problem. It only took a few extra minutes. Everyone was pleasant and glad we were there. You don't always find happy staff when you're in such a big group, especially when you want to squeeze in an extra person. Our server, Kathy L, took it in stride. We were seated at a long table on the balcony, where a guy was performing with his ukulele. Good tunes. We immediately got water and carafes for refills and drink orders were taken. Cocktails arrived quickly. Kathy took food orders from people in a circle around the table. I'm sure it helped her keep track of who gets what as they come out of the kitchen. Kathy was very helpful in answering questions about menu items and let my wife order the fish tacos from the lunch menu, even though it was long past lunch time. I ordered the Tamarind-Pineapple Glazed Mahi Mahi. I also ordered a side order of fries, to share. The kitchen staff was really efficient because servers hustled our plates out quickly. Well, except for the girl sitting across from us. Good thing I ordered the fries so she had something to nibble on while waiting for her entre to show up. As for the fries, they were disappointing for the 10 buck price. Nothing wrong with them but it looked like an order from Mickey Dee's. My mahi mahi entre was delicious. The glaze and the cook of the fish were perfect. Flaky, sweet and moist. Mushrooms were nice and the almond rice was very good, especially with the salsa of pineapple, peppers, shallots and jalapeños. The serving size was sufficient but nothing to take home. The fish tacos that wifey ordered were a better deal. Good size pieces of mahi in each of 3 tacos. I would order them next time, although the tortillas were dry and falling apart. A bit of a challenge to eat without making a mess. But very tasty nevertheless. Interesting that we weren't automatically charged a tip, considering the size of our group. Just a normal night in Maui and my boyfriend and I wanted to try something new. I came in not expecting much but my expectations were blown away. At first we were a little taken back because the host said she was full for the night even though open table said reservations were still available & we saw many open tables. Thankfully we got a seat at bar & received excellent and fast service from the bartender Kelly! Aside from recommending a yummy pineapple beer she even recommended some waterfalls for us to hike to as well. As far as the food goes, we chose the award winning coconut shrimp as an appetizer & the macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi. My boyfriend and I shared the mahi mahi entree and they were so nice to split our entree for us onto two separate plates without us asking. We were pleasantly impressed with the kind gesture & how perfect the dish was cooked. For the fried coconut shrimp it was crispy, coconutty & delicious. I thought the coslaw salad would been bitter but it was actually very refreshing. I wasn't a big fan of the ginger apple sauce but a staff member Jason brought me out an aioli (used for the crab cakes) and it definitely paired well together. We recently held our wedding ceremony at Tommy Bahama in Wailea, and the entire experience was absolutely perfect - thanks to the Manager Rick and his incredible staff (I wish I recalled everyone's name). The event was handled with such care and professionalism that all we (and our guests) really had to do was soak up the experience. We reserved the restaurant's private room (for our 20 guests) that made the occasion calm and intimate; and important to us, we avoided feeling that we had been caught up in the Hawaiian wedding machine. Not great service, overpriced food for the quality, and most of the drinks are subpar. The only refining quality is that they are strong, but that shouldn't be a qualifier. This place is so consistently great to come back. Every time in my eyes are fantastic. I had the Thai and scallop shrimp and some curry sauce and my husband had the ribs which are to die for I had a salad to start, which was also fantastic. The music is live and it's so nice to hear while sitting outside. The servers are great Crystal was our server and she was fantastic. We come back every year. I know some people think it's kind of cheesy that the clothing store has the restaurant, but they know how to do it and trust me Tommy Bahamas know how to do it right more power to them. read more

I really wanted to like this better. Everything was just kind of weird from the get go. The hostess asked for some personal information before she would seat us we kindly declined but it got weird. We were here on the early side for lunch so the restaurant was not too full yet. We sat outside which was nice because they had good shades. Our server was friendly but seemed to be MIA a lot. We split a burger and the quesadilla. The quesadilla was pretty decent. The chicken was nice addition and the portion was nice. The burger however looked (and tasted like) it came from a preformed frozen patty. It was dry and under seasoned. The fries were the best part of the burger. A fantastic surprise. First of all I had no idea that Tommy Bahama had a restaurant so we went into this blind. We honestly had a such a great time and great food. The restaurant itself is really pretty, offering lots of seating both inside and out. We got a table pretty quickly with no reservation and could hear the live music that was playing outside. We started off with a round of drinks, the Mai Thai was really good and so was the classic mojito. The blood orange margarita was fine but not my favorite. For an appetizer we did the Goat Cheese Dip which went CRAZY, the bread was perfection and my family fought over who could have the last piece. Our one regret was not getting the coconut shrimp because they looked massive and so good every time we saw them being brought to another table. Dinner itself was delicious. I haven't had ribs in forever so I went for the Guava glazed baby back pork ribs.... So yummy and the mashed potatoes were some of the best restaurant mashed potatoes I've had. The Thai shrimp and scallops were also very good and the concept of almond rice blew my mind. Lastly the Duroc Pork Katsu (seasonal summer 2024 menu item) was perfectly crispy. The Coconut Cloud is a standout favorite drink at happy hour. I do wish there were more vegetarian options on both the happy hour and main menus--there used to be a delicious flatbread that's no longer available. The bartenders are friendly and helpful, though often stretched thin, especially during busy times. I'd recommend avoiding Saturday evenings at the bar or patio--the live music can be surprisingly downbeat for such a lively restaurant in paradise. Might be time to find a replacement.
