Pad See Ew, Prik Khing Green Beans

The food here is Soooo good for the food I would give this place 5 but as far as service it is almost non existent. The staff is very nice but they seem to be more concerned/ busy with their online orders than they are in their dine in customers. Customers had to get up to get the waiters attention to get things they needed and they dont check on you to see if you need anything. If you want something else you order in the app but then im not sure if they check because we waited a LOONG time for something extra that we order. So for service I would give them 3. Pre-Covid the service was really good... but now with their online orders they haven't been able to balance orders and dine in. But we will be back because the food really is good. I had three Pad See Ew and my husband had the Prik Khing Green Beans.

Great Thai food in South Bay! We ordered for take out but service was great and quick, and they kept our food warm. We didn't sit inside, but it seemed like there was decent seating if you wanted to dine in. The food was very good & portions were generous! Great if you're looking for something open late!

FOOD: was delicious! We got the fried tofu and pumpkin curry. Both were delicious. The coconut rice worked well with all the dishes. The Thai tea was a good flavor. INSIDE: was nicely decorated and easily accessible aisles. PARKING: lot is small but there is also street parking too. STAFF: is easy because you order via telephone and they bring the dishes to your table. You pay at the end after the meal. I'd definitely come back.

Absolutely love Tommy Thai! Their portions are a surplus in portions for the price and my usual is pad see ew and pad Thai. In this occasion I got tom Kha soup and it is mouth watering! Their service is top notch and the ambiance is always inviting :)

The food was really good, the pad Thai wasn't my favorite but I still really enjoyed it. Their pineapple fried rice and papaya salad was excellent though! This is my favorite Thai spot in the area that I've been able to find! Can't wait to try more of their food!

    N7 - Garlic Butter Noodles (Tommy's Way)

Such a cozy little spot with warm vibes and friendly service -- perfect for a casual lunch or dinner with family. The Spicy Catfish was absolutely amazing, packed with flavor and heat. The Garlic Butter Noodles were a huge hit with the kids -- simple, buttery, and perfectly cooked. We also loved the Chicken Satay -- tender, tasty, and a crowd-pleaser for both kids and adults. The Tom Yum Soup was spot-on -- savory, tangy, and super satisfying. Next time I'm definitely going to try their higher spice levels! For dessert, the Mango with Sticky Rice was nice and fresh, though a scoop of ice cream would've made it perfect. Generous portion sizes make it easy to share dishes, especially if you're dining with a larger group. Overall, a great spot for flavorful Thai comfort food and a cozy family lunch/dinner!

Unassuming spot with a tiny parking lot. I see half the business are from to-go order pickups on a Wednesday night. The portions were big and food was solid. This is your straight forward, no fluff Thai comfort food. I never had peanut sauce chicken before but I love peanut butter and dishes. This ran too sweet and I'm sure has cups of sugar in it. Pad See Ew was decent. Spicy Basil Fish had big pieces of fish and lots of peppers too. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area and craving Thai food.

I've been coming here for the past year and food been consistent. My go to is pad see ew. It never fails. Service is a hit or miss. They sat quickly on a Friday.

N7 - Noodle Garlic Butter Sauce
    Suman K.

Ordered here for lunch. The food was below average In my opinion. The garlic noodle did not taste very flavorful. Also the noodles were on the oily side, I asked for it to be spicy, but it didn't taste like they added anything in. Had more of a soy sauce taste to it. Gave two stars because the sticky rice was decent but I have had better at other Thai restaurants.

Cute little place with parking spaces! Great food ! We ordered the pineapple fried rice with beef with medium spicy And Thai iced tea

    Vincent C.

I got the S2 - Rock Cod medium spice with rice. I liked the blend of crisp, with sweet and spicy. Service was great! Low key ambiance and good environment to have dinner with friends or even alone. The Thai tea was also really good and sweet (more milky than tea).

What dish would you recommend trying here?

For entrees, Green Curry with coconut rice, Pad Thai or Pineapple Fried Rice. (choose chicken, tofu, or shrimp) For appetizers, Fresh Rolls chicken/tofu or house made fried…

Is there a picture how the dish - bbq pork, chicken and beef look like? Just so I see what I'm ordering. Thanks

Did Tommy Thai turn off their Eat24? I usually rely on that to order from and every time I try to place an order it tells me that they are closed and that I can pre order for the next day. :/

The restaurant is lively and loud, with walls adorned with cool art highlighting Vietnamese culture. The menu and prices reflect the upscale nature of the cuisine - you can have Wagyu for Pho or Shaking Beef. It reminds me of Slanted Door in San Ramon, only Tamarine has better food and selections: 1. Shaking Beef - a must-get dish, and the default filet mignon beef cooked medium is still super soft and juicy. 2 Chicken wontons - the appetizer is a riff on the Sichuan style red chili oil pork wontons and is just as good. The ground chicken really works here. 3 Green Papaya Salad is okay, but the standout it the beef jerky which is excellent - our 6yo gobbled all of it. 4. Clay Pot Cod - super flakey, soft and moist and packed with sweet-savory flavors. A luxurious fish best eaten with Jasmine rice, which comes nicely steamed in a large banana leaf. 5. The Hoisin-Land Chops cooked medium were good, but still somewhat fatty with some pink parts. Maybe medium well would have been better. 6. Basil Tofu - excellent appetizer - crispy soft tofu and aromatic crispy basil leaves. 7. Roti Banh Mi - basically a buttery, crispy Roti with curry-like dip - no beef flavors or pickled elements. Its beyond me what its called Banh Mi. 8. Lastly, save room for dessert - a slice of Hojicha Burnt Creme Cheese Cake with Strawberry Compote. Thick, creamy, and hint of green tea and definitely shareable with three people. Highly recommend for a dinner splurge in Palo Alto. They have a good sized parking lot in the back of the restaurant.

Because they are located at the beginning of downtown, there is usually plenty of parking on the adjacent streets and also a parking garage directly behind the restaurant at the Webster/Cowper Garage. The restaurant is well-lit, clean, and inviting. The tables are well-spaced from each other. For the appetizer we started with their salt and pepper calamari. This was excellent and was was served with a cilantro lime dipping sauce. Since a few of them have never dined at Tamarine or it's been years, I recommended one of my favorite dishes to share, the Empress Rice. The garlic and ginger sticky rice topped with a sunny-side up egg and drizzled with sweet soy sauce is a must. They break the egg and mix it in table-side. We also ordered their garlic noodles which was also great. Traditionally other restaurants use lo mein noodles or thin spaghetti, but they use egg noodles here. You can taste that wok-tossed garlic, butter, and parmesan cheese flavor in the noodles. I think there was a hint of black pepper too. For the mains, the shaking beef is always a hit. The filet mignon beef cubes are so tender and cooked a perfect medium rare. It's served with a side of arugula salad. It was our first time trying their lemon grass sea bass and we all loved it. Since this was pan roasted there was this flavorful lemongrass and garlic crust on the fish! The service here is consistently friendly and attentive. Our waters were constantly refilled and empty dishes removed promptly. Even though there are many new restaurants in downtown Palo Alto, year after year, I keep coming back to Tamarine and have been for the last decade+!
