Yummy and fast service! Nice big portions! We found on yelp that was close to where we were visiting.

Meatlovers scramble and biscuits and gravy

This place is great! Way better than the current rating. Theres a lot of open space and you can seat yourself upon entering. They were flexible with our order and the food came out in decent time (15-20 minutes). I expected powdered gravy given the location but it was nothing like! Bits of sausage loaded with flavor over flakey soft biscuits. The meatlovers scramble did not hesitate on the protein either. The ambiance and service could be improved on but if youre here for quick traditional American breakfast, then this place does not disappoint.

I don't come here too often anymore. The food still really good. I got the Country Fried Steak, did not disappoint. Coffee could be better though. Service is ok, nice lady.

Updated menu. Definitely going strong BEFORE 1991 and will keep going, probably even longer.

Having new owners since 1991, Tommy's is that family owned local diner that you always drive by but never really go into. That's UNTIL you walk inside, and wanna walk in EVERYDAY. The building is old and probably needs a remodel. You notice the foundation and floor are sinking in several places. But the regular customers who pack the parking lot every morning know that. And it's almost part of the charm. You pretty much seat yourself on the weekdays, and the staff works to bring you family customer service. And man, do they work hard. And boy, are you taken care of! I go mostly for breakfast, and that's good enough for me, although they do have a tasty lunch menu. Not simply a greasy spoon, the menu is broad to include steel cut oatmeal, fresh sliced fruit, and veggies in your omelets. If you would like a heartier, meatier flare, you can order pork chops, corned beef hash, and even some house made chicken fried steak with house made gravy. There's traditional bacon and eggs if you wish. However, you might as well push the boundaries of what a good American breakfast diner is supposed to be like. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and my friend ordered the veggie scrambled eggs. It's definitely PLENTY of food. It also has plenty of diner-grade black coffee (regular or decaf) at the ready. Juice upon request. Be advised, do not come here with a dollar menu attitude or a chain restaurant value mindset. It's a small business that charges an appropriate amount for the homestyle quality you expect. And, as a local Renton resident, I'm happy to go out of my way to go to a neighborhood spot for good morning grub. The doors are open at 6 am! Come join the neighbors at Tommy's!

We just want to go local place for breakfast. It is traditional breakfast menu. My sister in law got Mini breakfast two eggs, hash brown, and toast. She likes the coffee. I ordered French toast combo with two eggs and bacon. I asked for bacon and sausage but got just bacon. It was not big deal, I wanted to try the sausage for the review. The eggs were cooked as ordered over easy. The bacon could be more crispy but I did not ask. The French toasts were okay, it was not bad or good, meaning it was not completely dry. They used regular size toasts. I have many French toast from different places. The service was good.

Needed a good breakfast to last me the day so I headed over here. Immediately had a table for myself and the waitress was the only one working and it didn't even feel like it. My coffee never got lower than about three sips before being topped off. I went with a taco omelette and it was very tasty. Nothing unexpected but it was exactly what I was hoping for. Hash browns were crispy and good and toast was the right amount of cooked and buttered for me. It's a typical diner so I loved it. Close your eyes and picture a stereotypical cozy diner and poof you are here. Stop by and get you day started right. Side note the table next to me got a cinnamon roll and let me tell you it smells amazing.

They have silent giant TV.

Ambience. B Service. A Food. A Price. A Found on Renton main drag. Lots of parking in private lot. 2 entrances in front and side. Family run business. Open for breakfast!!! Very old fashioned dated Decor but like the cares for live plants. And clean albeit table was a little sticky. You walk in and they scream..."SIT ANYWHERE YOU LIKE!!!" lol Very friendly and swift service. Had the senior meals on the back! NO way are they small portions and so reasonably affordable for sub huge portions!!! Under $15. Bottomless coffee avail. Very good coffee. Had the senior country fried steak. Came out within 10 mins. Love the house made home fries with onions and bell pepper. Rye bread toasted with butter, eggs cooked PERFECT sunny side up and runny, the country fried steak was smothered in white sauce and very crispy batter and tender pounded steak... Looks freshly painted but walls getting dingy in some heavy traffic areas. Dates Bathrooms looks like efforts to keep !clean. Overall, I'm a FaN!

Philly what?

Stopped here for lunch. I had vegetable beef soup which had a good flavor. I also got the Philly Cheesesteak which was like nothing I have seen before. It had thin slice of meat and a slice of cheese and onions. I took one bite and did not finish it. They seemed shocked when I told them I didn't like it. They did comp that sandwich. The fries were good. My husband had a club sandwich which was good

On a visit to Seattle Washington, I acquired an AirBNB in Rainier Beach neighborhood. I found this…read moregem of a restaurant. This restaurant location has been in operation for 11 years, a dream of retired NBA and local Rainier Beach native Nate Robinson, the restaurant originally was "Nate's Wings and Waffles" to provide memorable comfort food to a diverse community. The name has changed to reflect the current ownership and operation by Nate's sister Chelle and boyfriend Drae. I was drawn to the restaurant because I was looking for a traditional breakfast spot, but was challenged to find one in the area. Drae's Lake Route exceeded my expectations. It was clear that this is a destination for locals and by the steady flow of patrons this is the place to be. Good food made to order, dine-in or take out, plus choices of alcoholic or non-alcoholic speciality drinks to round out your meal. I chose the Deluxe breakfast, which comes with 3 meats (choice of bacon, pork link sausage and turkey sausage). I chose 2 thick sliced bacon strips and 1 pork link with 3 eggs over medium and (choice of cubed potatoes or grits) I chose the cubed potatoes with a buttered English muffin. My breakfast was satisfying and the refills of coffee hit the spot. I stayed long enough conversing with local patrons to transition to lunch and chose 1 pound of naked chicken wings, tossed in habernaro-pineapple sauce. My wings were cooked to perfection and the sauce provided just enough spice to liven my tastebuds. The next day I made a return visit for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast I chose Ava's fish and grits plus buttered wheat toast 2 eggs over easy for breakfast plus coffee. As a son of the Southern United States, grits are a staple. My grits were cooked to perfection with a dollop of butter. I just added salt and pepper to taste. My catfish fillet was corn meal battered and was nicely seasoned. I later ordered the pork chop sandwich for lunch dressed (no mayonnaise), which comes with a choice of fries or kale salad. I chose fries. My bone-in pork chop was lightly breaded and fried on sliced white bread, old school! The sandwich took me back to my childhood, goodness like grandmother cooked, magnifique! My service over these 2 days has been fantastic. Chelle handles the front of the house and Drae handles the back of the house for a winning combination. Chelle manages the dining room with patience and top notch customer service, even calling customers by name. She is the epitome of a professional, even under pressure with numerous orders coming in near closing. Drae is friendly and an accomplished cook and car enthusiast, as seen by the decor in the restaurant. There is always a comforting tune playing and the venue has scheduled events featuring local musicians performing at their building next door. It is obvious the there is a lot going on at Drae's Lake Route. Check it out when in the South Seattle area. You won't be disappointed.

Have heard lots of good reviews from this spot and finally got to try it out!…read more You order at the counter and then your food gets brought to you. Service was very friendly! They had a good flow of traffic throughout the entire time we were there. They have two picnic tables outside of the restaurant for outdoor seating and a handful of tables inside. We had the salmon Philly, fish & grits, and a side order of the waffle. - The salmon Philly was flavorful and the cheese pull was elite. We chose the fries as our side and they were cooked well. - I loved the size of the waffle! It was on the thinner side though so definitely don't put all the syrup on it unless you like it soggier since it soaks up pretty well. - I loved the combination of the catfish and grits because they balanced each other out well. The catfish was cooked to perfection, but I wouldn't eat it on its own since it's pretty salty, so you gotta eat it with the grits for each bite.

I remembered Salty Blue was on my list and they had a front patio, so that was THE CHOICE! We found a small table for two right outside their window, just in the shade- perfect for me and my husband. I ordered the cod (battered) fish and chips, I wanted to go simple my first time. When it arrived at the table, it was a huge piece of fish sitting atop plenty of fries! The crispy batter stayed on the fish as I ate- a big plus. I enjoyed it with malt vinegar and an incredible sauce full of dill, and I LOVE dill. The fries were good but slightly soggy, maybe from the fish sitting on top, perhaps I'll immediately push them to the side next time. My husband got the grilled Mahi Mahi with chips. It looked beautiful and he said it tasted wonderful, even without any sauce or condiments. The servers came outside to check on us a couple times, which was much appreciated! We had our meals with a cold pint of beer each and just loved having delicious food while relaxing in the warm air on a sunny day. One of my favorite things about the food is that you can choose to have your fish & chips either grilled or battered and either with fries or salad. Fantastic for those days when you want something on the lighter side. The menu also has so many other items I'd like to try. Definitely will be back!
