Yummy and fast service! Nice big portions! We found on yelp that was close to where we were visiting.

This place is great! Way better than the current rating. Theres a lot of open space and you can seat yourself upon entering. They were flexible with our order and the food came out in decent time (15-20 minutes). I expected powdered gravy given the location but it was nothing like! Bits of sausage loaded with flavor over flakey soft biscuits. The meatlovers scramble did not hesitate on the protein either. The ambiance and service could be improved on but if youre here for quick traditional American breakfast, then this place does not disappoint.

I don't come here too often anymore. The food still really good. I got the Country Fried Steak, did not disappoint. Coffee could be better though. Service is ok, nice lady.

Updated menu. Definitely going strong BEFORE 1991 and will keep going, probably even longer.

Having new owners since 1991, Tommy's is that family owned local diner that you always drive by but never really go into. That's UNTIL you walk inside, and wanna walk in EVERYDAY. The building is old and probably needs a remodel. You notice the foundation and floor are sinking in several places. But the regular customers who pack the parking lot every morning know that. And it's almost part of the charm. You pretty much seat yourself on the weekdays, and the staff works to bring you family customer service. And man, do they work hard. And boy, are you taken care of! I go mostly for breakfast, and that's good enough for me, although they do have a tasty lunch menu. Not simply a greasy spoon, the menu is broad to include steel cut oatmeal, fresh sliced fruit, and veggies in your omelets. If you would like a heartier, meatier flare, you can order pork chops, corned beef hash, and even some house made chicken fried steak with house made gravy. There's traditional bacon and eggs if you wish. However, you might as well push the boundaries of what a good American breakfast diner is supposed to be like. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and my friend ordered the veggie scrambled eggs. It's definitely PLENTY of food. It also has plenty of diner-grade black coffee (regular or decaf) at the ready. Juice upon request. Be advised, do not come here with a dollar menu attitude or a chain restaurant value mindset. It's a small business that charges an appropriate amount for the homestyle quality you expect. And, as a local Renton resident, I'm happy to go out of my way to go to a neighborhood spot for good morning grub. The doors are open at 6 am! Come join the neighbors at Tommy's!

We just want to go local place for breakfast. It is traditional breakfast menu. My sister in law got Mini breakfast two eggs, hash brown, and toast. She likes the coffee. I ordered French toast combo with two eggs and bacon. I asked for bacon and sausage but got just bacon. It was not big deal, I wanted to try the sausage for the review. The eggs were cooked as ordered over easy. The bacon could be more crispy but I did not ask. The French toasts were okay, it was not bad or good, meaning it was not completely dry. They used regular size toasts. I have many French toast from different places. The service was good.

Needed a good breakfast to last me the day so I headed over here. Immediately had a table for myself and the waitress was the only one working and it didn't even feel like it. My coffee never got lower than about three sips before being topped off. I went with a taco omelette and it was very tasty. Nothing unexpected but it was exactly what I was hoping for. Hash browns were crispy and good and toast was the right amount of cooked and buttered for me. It's a typical diner so I loved it. Close your eyes and picture a stereotypical cozy diner and poof you are here. Stop by and get you day started right. Side note the table next to me got a cinnamon roll and let me tell you it smells amazing.

    They have silent giant TV.

Ambience. B Service. A Food. A Price. A Found on Renton main drag. Lots of parking in private lot. 2 entrances in front and side. Family run business. Open for breakfast!!! Very old fashioned dated Decor but like the cares for live plants. And clean albeit table was a little sticky. You walk in and they scream..."SIT ANYWHERE YOU LIKE!!!" lol Very friendly and swift service. Had the senior meals on the back! NO way are they small portions and so reasonably affordable for sub huge portions!!! Under $15. Bottomless coffee avail. Very good coffee. Had the senior country fried steak. Came out within 10 mins. Love the house made home fries with onions and bell pepper. Rye bread toasted with butter, eggs cooked PERFECT sunny side up and runny, the country fried steak was smothered in white sauce and very crispy batter and tender pounded steak... Looks freshly painted but walls getting dingy in some heavy traffic areas. Dates Bathrooms looks like efforts to keep !clean. Overall, I'm a FaN!

Stopped here for lunch. I had vegetable beef soup which had a good flavor. I also got the Philly Cheesesteak which was like nothing I have seen before. It had thin slice of meat and a slice of cheese and onions. I took one bite and did not finish it. They seemed shocked when I told them I didn't like it. They did comp that sandwich. The fries were good. My husband had a club sandwich which was good

Have heard lots of good reviews from this spot and finally got to try it out!…read more You order at the counter and then your food gets brought to you. Service was very friendly! They had a good flow of traffic throughout the entire time we were there. They have two picnic tables outside of the restaurant for outdoor seating and a handful of tables inside. We had the salmon Philly, fish & grits, and a side order of the waffle. - The salmon Philly was flavorful and the cheese pull was elite. We chose the fries as our side and they were cooked well. - I loved the size of the waffle! It was on the thinner side though so definitely don't put all the syrup on it unless you like it soggier since it soaks up pretty well. - I loved the combination of the catfish and grits because they balanced each other out well. The catfish was cooked to perfection, but I wouldn't eat it on its own since it's pretty salty, so you gotta eat it with the grits for each bite.

The waffle itself was good, and the chicken-and-waffle dish was decent, but the chicken was average at best. The chicken wings were very average, and the Philly cheesesteak was okay/good, but nothing about the food felt special. Portion sizes were fine, but again, nothing memorable. Service was also hit or miss. The lady at the counter was friendly and nice, which we appreciated. However, the rest of the team, including someone who appeared to be the owner, came across as rude and unwelcoming. No one checked on our table, asked if we needed anything, or really interacted with us during the meal. When we arrived, there was no clear sign explaining whether we should seat ourselves or order at the counter. We ended up waiting around 10 minutes before realizing no one was going to help or explain the process. Overall, this place felt overhyped. The food was average, the service needs improvement, and the owner/team should make guests feel more welcome. Based on our experience, I would not recommend it and would not go back.

It had been five years since our last visit to Melrose Grill. Getting a table here isn't easy,…read morewalk-in waits can easily exceed two hours, and reservations often need to be made a week or two in advance. This time, we actually planned ahead. The hostess was friendly and welcoming, and we were seated within about five minutes of arriving, which was a great start. The service was excellent... until it wasn't, which ultimately left a sour taste. Our server was attentive and personable early on, but as the restaurant got busier, she was clearly given more tables than she could reasonably handle. It wasn't her fault, it appeared to be a management issue. By the end of the meal, it took nearly 20 minutes to receive our check and another 10 minutes for our credit card to be run. I ordered the filet with a baked potato and added grilled shrimp, which I split with my dining partner. The filet absolutely lived up to the hype. It was like butter, perfectly cooked and incredibly tender. The shrimp were equally impressive with great seasoning and a perfect char. We both started with the blue cheese salad. It was good, but if you're expecting a bold blue cheese flavor, you may be disappointed. It was much milder than expected. The complimentary bread service consisted of two rolls that were unfortunately overbaked and rock hard. It wasn't a huge deal, but it wasn't the best first impression of the meal. I also thought charging an extra $2 for cheese and sour cream on a baked potato was a bit excessive especially for a $84 meal. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner, and the steak was excellent. However, the experience didn't quite live up to the reputation or the effort it takes to get a reservation. Between the service falling apart toward the end of the meal and a few small disappointments, I'm not sure we'll be rushing back anytime soon.

I first reached out on April 12th with a few possible dates and an estimated guest count of 15-18. I received an immediate reply the next morning from Rob Miller, who guided me through every step of the planning process with professionalism, warmth, and clarity.Although the initial information focused on their private dining room, Rob worked closely with me after our conversation to secure the patio instead. A perfect choice for a July shower, especially since the indoor rooms didn't have windows. He made sure I could personalize the table arrangements to reflect my daughter in law's personality, include a small gift table, and offer an open menu for our guests. Communication was seamless, and I was able to update the guest count right up until the week of the event. All forms were easy to complete and sent exactly when expected. On the day of the shower, the patio table was set beautifully, exactly as promised. Our servers, Becky and Madison (a trainee), were exceptional. Their service was warm, attentive, and highly professional. The food, including the mocktails and brunch beverages, was absolutely delicious, truly perfection. Since the parking space is quite tight, we decided to park outside and walk in. They don't take reservations, so we walked in and were greeted by a long line! When I asked the staff what a first-timer should get, they recommended the Chicken & Waffles. We ordered that, along with a mushroom omelet, chicken salad, and a side of pancakes. It had been over a decade since I last ordered Chicken & Waffles, and wow--the chicken here was incredible! No gamey flavor at all, perfectly crispy on the outside, and paired with a wonderfully chewy waffle. The maple syrup wasn't overly sweet, tied everything together beautifully. Our group was thrilled with the rest of the order, too. The salad was a big hit, and the mushroom omelet was fantastic. But the real star was the pancake--it had an amazing chewy texture with a subtle, delicious sourdough tang. Now I completely understand why this place gets so busy in the morning. The overall vibe was lovely, complete with a beautiful view of the lake in the distance. The service was laid-back and casual, fitting the warm, relaxed atmosphere.
