Yummy and fast service! Nice big portions! We found on yelp that was close to where we were visiting.

Meatlovers scramble and biscuits and gravy

This place is great! Way better than the current rating. Theres a lot of open space and you can seat yourself upon entering. They were flexible with our order and the food came out in decent time (15-20 minutes). I expected powdered gravy given the location but it was nothing like! Bits of sausage loaded with flavor over flakey soft biscuits. The meatlovers scramble did not hesitate on the protein either. The ambiance and service could be improved on but if youre here for quick traditional American breakfast, then this place does not disappoint.

I don't come here too often anymore. The food still really good. I got the Country Fried Steak, did not disappoint. Coffee could be better though. Service is ok, nice lady.

Updated menu. Definitely going strong BEFORE 1991 and will keep going, probably even longer.

Having new owners since 1991, Tommy's is that family owned local diner that you always drive by but never really go into. That's UNTIL you walk inside, and wanna walk in EVERYDAY. The building is old and probably needs a remodel. You notice the foundation and floor are sinking in several places. But the regular customers who pack the parking lot every morning know that. And it's almost part of the charm. You pretty much seat yourself on the weekdays, and the staff works to bring you family customer service. And man, do they work hard. And boy, are you taken care of! I go mostly for breakfast, and that's good enough for me, although they do have a tasty lunch menu. Not simply a greasy spoon, the menu is broad to include steel cut oatmeal, fresh sliced fruit, and veggies in your omelets. If you would like a heartier, meatier flare, you can order pork chops, corned beef hash, and even some house made chicken fried steak with house made gravy. There's traditional bacon and eggs if you wish. However, you might as well push the boundaries of what a good American breakfast diner is supposed to be like. I ordered the chicken fried steak, and my friend ordered the veggie scrambled eggs. It's definitely PLENTY of food. It also has plenty of diner-grade black coffee (regular or decaf) at the ready. Juice upon request. Be advised, do not come here with a dollar menu attitude or a chain restaurant value mindset. It's a small business that charges an appropriate amount for the homestyle quality you expect. And, as a local Renton resident, I'm happy to go out of my way to go to a neighborhood spot for good morning grub. The doors are open at 6 am! Come join the neighbors at Tommy's!

We just want to go local place for breakfast. It is traditional breakfast menu. My sister in law got Mini breakfast two eggs, hash brown, and toast. She likes the coffee. I ordered French toast combo with two eggs and bacon. I asked for bacon and sausage but got just bacon. It was not big deal, I wanted to try the sausage for the review. The eggs were cooked as ordered over easy. The bacon could be more crispy but I did not ask. The French toasts were okay, it was not bad or good, meaning it was not completely dry. They used regular size toasts. I have many French toast from different places. The service was good.

Needed a good breakfast to last me the day so I headed over here. Immediately had a table for myself and the waitress was the only one working and it didn't even feel like it. My coffee never got lower than about three sips before being topped off. I went with a taco omelette and it was very tasty. Nothing unexpected but it was exactly what I was hoping for. Hash browns were crispy and good and toast was the right amount of cooked and buttered for me. It's a typical diner so I loved it. Close your eyes and picture a stereotypical cozy diner and poof you are here. Stop by and get you day started right. Side note the table next to me got a cinnamon roll and let me tell you it smells amazing.

They have silent giant TV.

Ambience. B Service. A Food. A Price. A Found on Renton main drag. Lots of parking in private lot. 2 entrances in front and side. Family run business. Open for breakfast!!! Very old fashioned dated Decor but like the cares for live plants. And clean albeit table was a little sticky. You walk in and they scream..."SIT ANYWHERE YOU LIKE!!!" lol Very friendly and swift service. Had the senior meals on the back! NO way are they small portions and so reasonably affordable for sub huge portions!!! Under $15. Bottomless coffee avail. Very good coffee. Had the senior country fried steak. Came out within 10 mins. Love the house made home fries with onions and bell pepper. Rye bread toasted with butter, eggs cooked PERFECT sunny side up and runny, the country fried steak was smothered in white sauce and very crispy batter and tender pounded steak... Looks freshly painted but walls getting dingy in some heavy traffic areas. Dates Bathrooms looks like efforts to keep !clean. Overall, I'm a FaN!

Philly what?

Stopped here for lunch. I had vegetable beef soup which had a good flavor. I also got the Philly Cheesesteak which was like nothing I have seen before. It had thin slice of meat and a slice of cheese and onions. I took one bite and did not finish it. They seemed shocked when I told them I didn't like it. They did comp that sandwich. The fries were good. My husband had a club sandwich which was good

Very cute and cozy breakfast spot! If you're in Renton would def recommend to try it out! Food was delicious!

Curiosity eventually won, and I'm glad it did. First off, the place itself is on the smaller side, maybe around 15 tables plus a bar top, but it's well organized and efficient. You're immediately greeted by an employee who asks how many are in your party, and before you know it, you're seated with a menu and water in hand. Smooth operation so far. I went all in and ordered the red velvet waffles (because obviously), paired with a milkshake, and my partner ordered the corned beef hash. The wait time was about 20-25 minutes, which honestly wasn't bad at all considering how full the place was. When the food arrived, it was clear why people keep coming back, the portions are generous and easily shareable. The red velvet waffles were amazing. Rich, fluffy, and absolutely worth the order. The corned beef hash was clearly made from scratch, you could tell the corned beef was hand-cut, along with the potatoes and peppers. No mystery meat here. It's served with crispy hash browns and an egg cooked however you like, which is exactly how it should be. Service was great too, super friendly, genuinely nice, and very on top of things. You can tell this place has been around for a while because the staff all seem to have their rhythm down. There's a groove, and it works. All in all, this is a solid spot for breakfast or lunch, and now I understand why it's always busy. Just one important note: they're closed on Tuesdays, so plan accordingly. Enjoy!

The waitress asked what drinks we wanted but she never delivered them. We waited about 15 min before asking the young man to help us! Despite how busy they were, to wait 15 just to ask again is not okay. Anyway. We finally got our food and the original waitress showed up to give us the bill. She had an 18% added tip on there. I told her I did not think the quality (hers) was worth 18%. She said I HAD TO PAY IT. I said it's not a law. But she said that's how the restaurant manager wants it. Suffice it to say, I'm going to look further into the rights of customers.

Nice neighborhood breakfast spot near Renton/Issaquah - traditional American style breakfast food…read moreand vibes Food: I had the chicken fried steak which also came with hash browns, 2 eggs, and a choice of toast/english muffin/biscuit. Everything was cooked well and I personally didn't think the chicken steak was super heavy. Service/Ambiance: Staff here is very friendly but move at the fast pace you would expect for a traditional breakfast/diner style. The restaurant also has some fun decorations. Everything you would needs for your meal (salt/pepper/hot sauce/half & half for coffee) is readily available at each table which was nice. Note: We've been here a few times now, and it does get packed on the weekends so prepare for a bit of a wait!

My husband and I were looking for a brunch spot in the area and came across this place. We hadn't…read moretried it before, but some friends had mentioned they'd been wanting to check it out too, so we decided to give it a go. I'll be honest--the service felt a bit odd when we first walked in. We were told we could wait a while to get seated at the dinning area or that we could seat ourselves at the bar. Since it was our first time, I wasn't sure if that meant the actual bar counter or tables in the bar area. When I asked for clarification, there was a bit of an awkward pause before someone finally explained we could sit at a table in the bar section. That said, once we got settled, the experience improved. The server who took care of us was very kind and attentive. I ordered my usual go-to at breakfast spots: chicken fried steak with a biscuit. It was really good--definitely hearty and comforting without being overly greasy. That said, it is a heavy meal (fried food plus gravy), so be prepared for a post-brunch nap. The biscuit looked a little underwhelming at first, but it actually tasted great. The overall vibe of the place is very much a local dive bar feel, and the service style matches that. As long as you go in with the right expectations, it makes for an enjoyable, laid-back brunch. Also worth noting--there's a decent amount of parking in the back, which is always a plus. Overall, a solid spot for a casual, no-frills brunch.

The restaurant is located in a small plaza. Parking lot is small and we were able to park easily. Upon entry, we were greeted and were seated right away. We had a window view which was nice. We enjoyed basking under the sun LOL! For starters, we ordered two coffee, cream and sugar while we browsed the menu. The restaurant was pretty spacious and clean. Not well lit or bright. It appeared that one section (rear) was kind of dark. It was a little odd. After we placed our order. It took approximately 45-50 minutes to receive our food. It was quite long. Sadly, our waitress didn't check in to refill our coffee. My daughter ordered the waffle combo with two sunny side eggs, hash browns and two sausage links $20.99. She enjoyed her food. I had a chance to try her Belgium waffle. It was light, airy and good. For my meal, I ordered the Avocado Florentine with carne asada (up charge $5.99) Total $25.99. It looked really delicious however, it was not. Unfortunately, it was bland. No seasoned and no flavor. I added salt and it still did not taste good. It didn't help. I had only three spoons and stopped eating. This has never happened. I had packed up my leftovers for my husband have at it. When my husband tried it, he stated it was bland. I rarely give bad reviews and rarely have bad tasting breakfast. This one hit that for me. =(
