Excellent sushi and mochi dessert. The restaurant also had a warm and relaxing atmosphere. I would definitely recommend!

I was craving sushi and so my boyfriend and I went to Tomo Sushi for a quick and light dinner. This was our first time at Tomo. Tomo Sushi is located in the strip mall on 152nd St. It has about 15 tables plus seating at the sushi bar. You order via the QR code at the table. He had already eaten, and so we only ordered a couple of dishes. We ordered the BLACK PEPPER TUNA (+$16.95 for a half order, which is 4 pieces) and the SPIDER ROLL (+$10.95 for 6 pieces). The BLACK PEPPER TUNA was excellent. Pricey, but excellent. It came with a sweet and savory sauce and was topped with microgreens. Each piece was generously coated with black pepper and seared to perfection. The SPIDER ROLL was wonderful as well and was just what I was craving. The deep fried snow crab was nice and crunchy and the eel sauce offered the perfect sweet contrast to the otherwise savory roll. All the fish was fresh and the sushi just melted in my mouth. If I was hungrier, I also would've ordered one of their chef special rolls such as the Salmon King Roll or the Spicy Girl Roll which has spicy tuna, spicy mayo, cucumber, and avocado (they also have the Spicy Boy Roll which is the same roll but with salmon). Service was great and we got our food relatively quick after ordering (note that it was a weekday at 5pm and there were only a couple of other people eating there). There were a handful of people who came to pick up takeout though. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is nothing fancy, but the interior and bathroom are modern and clean. Overall: 5/5 for food, 4/5 for service, 4/5 for atmosphere

Delicious and quick sushi meal! Perfect meal for three people. You do have to order through QR code!

Eel and avocado roll, 4pc nigiri.

Fantastic little place! Our server was so friendly when we stopped in for lunch. Had the lunch special roll combo with nigiri. The nigiri was such a high quality and they did not skip out on the flavors of the eel and avocado roll. Definitely recommend!

Wow such a pleasant surprise stopped in for lunch and the special 2 rolls was amazing and super fresh. The 1 dollar add on for miso soup such a treat! Will be coming again for sure!

GLUTEN-FREE PEEPS!! THEY HAVE TAMARI! Solid neighborhood sushi with that welcoming, family-owned vibe. Good service, reasonable prices, and clean booths. The favorite part of our meal BY FAR was the Cajun Salmon nigiri ($8.50 for 2 pcs). It's a seared salmon nigiri with some delicious, smoky, savory seasoning on top. Definitely recommend trying this if you normally like seared salmon!!! Also enjoyed: Plain Sunomono Hulk Roll Godzilla Roll Spicy Yellowtail Roll Salmon Roe nigiri Bluefin Tuna nigiri Creamy Scallop nigiri Miso Soup Plenty of parking spots along this shopping strip in Burien. Will be back for more Cajun Salmon nigiri!

Tomo sushi has been our regular date night restaurant since it opened. All of the employees are very nice especially the owners. We have brought so many out of town guests and everyone has always been impressed. The food is great. Our favorite way to spoil ourselves is with the Nigiri and Sashimi platter. Look at the presentation. Also we tried the A5 wagyu tonight and it melted in our mouth. Absolutely delicious!

I love all the food here, especially sushi they are a lot less rice than most places. The cooked food are also very yummy. I pretty much can eat food from here everyday! My favorite that I ordered often is Spider roll (even though my kids are really worried that I eat spider!!)

We are thrilled that Tomo Sushi is open for dine in now! We did take away orders during the pandemic, but now get to sit inside and have orders flung at us one after the next. That's probably the best part - you can bring up your menu and tab from your phone and just order as you see fit based on your appetite and current fullness level. The go-to plates are the veggie gyoza and OMG salmon. Whatever seasoning is on that salmon is out of this world. There are a variety of rolls, and we keep going back to try new ones. The Buddha Roll and Futomaki are solid staples that shouldn't be missed, but there are no wrong answers when it comes to the options at Tomo. I would love to see a rice bowl added to the menu, but it isn't anything that will keep me from going again and again. Give me all the red snapper sashimi and I'll be happy.

Started off strong with the uni shot, which was really good, and the sashimi fresh, clean, and exactly what you want from a sushi spot. We also ordered the mushroom and pumpkin salad with spinach, which tasted great, but at $20, it felt a bit overpriced for what it was. The rolls, unfortunately, didn't live up to how they looked. Presentation was definitely there, but the flavor just didn't hit. On top of that, they were falling apart pretty easily when picked up with chopsticks, which made them a little frustrating to eat. Service was solid overall staff was attentive despite how busy it was but they did miss our hamachi kama, which was a bit of a letdown. A couple things to note: this place is cash only, and it gets very busy, so expect a bit of a wait. That said, the vibe is nice, and the design of the space is something I actually liked. Would I come back? Probably for sashimi and appetizers but I might skip the rolls next time.

However, expect slow or inconsistent service and just an okay environment. //CONTEXT// Came here on a Friday evening as a party of two. Found a seat immediately //ENVIRONMENT// Honestly the environment felt a bit sad. There was no music, it was super quiet and just not a typical restaurant environment. Even when I ordered I went up and had to write down my order on their receipt lol. //SERVICE// The service was really slow. I understand that rolls take a while to make and they have a lot of takeout orders but I would hope they'd improve based on what they're seeing. Here are some examples: - When we got there, there was another couple who already ordered and was waiting for their food. Three other parties came in and we all got their food before them. This couple never got their food, had to check and then waited more and then just left. We were there for 45 mins before we got there so they were waiting even longer. - Another party got their food before we did and we ordered before them. Also it was interesting in that this person got their order placed with the owner but we had to write our order down - As mentioned it took us about 45 minutes for 3 rolls. I thought this was kind of long. //FOOD// Food was amazing! If you can get past the wait the rolls are so good! They're fresh, tasty and not too large or too small! I got the Akron, Newport, and the Juneau! These were all so good! The tempura and fried soft shell crab was perfectly crispy and not soggy at all. The fish tasted so fresh! The Newport did lack a bit of ponzu. Aside from that these were great rolls Overall, the rolls were good but the service and wait does make me hesitant to come back.

The chewy bounciness at my favorite Japanese locations is almost physics-defying. The texture is simply divine. In comparison, this mouth feel is a cheap knock-off. The broth is not bad. The dashi is not as satisfying, but this was drinkable without being bland or too oily. I was more impressed by the fried sides. The giant potato croquette was excellent. The level of crisp and mushiness of the inside was on-point. The chicken was also nicely crispy and juicy. Of course, the fact that it was dark meat automatically gave it a head start over a lot of American fried chicken filets. The zucchini was good. The pumpkin was a bit dried out, but I think that was partly because I ate it last. Overall, this is quite authentic, from the way the noodles are prepared, to the way customers self-serve the sides. They even have a tray return. There are certain Japanese main-stays that I wanted to see, which are missing. Like, some kind of fish in the tempura line would've been nice. One of the biggest localizations is probably the veggie udon, which is violently un-Japanese looking with its carrots and broccoli and would certainly ruin the mouth feel of a smooth bowl of udon. If there's one plant root you want in an authentic veggie sanuki udon, I'd argue it should be grated daikon radish, which I don't think they have. But well, having too many unfamiliar things might be off-putting. That grated ginger at the end is already dangerous enough lol.
