Barbacoa was perfect, tortillas were big & fluffy, and the salsa was immaculate. I wonder why they don't get more hype than what they already have these guys are amazingggg!!!

Sooooo me and my brother decided to try because my bf, brother and me had to take my baby blue bird to the mechanic and we saw this sign that said Tony's Barbacoa. It was a small little place but very well organized! I was treated respectfully and was served right away. When I got home with my order and made some sunny side eggs after I served my self i was super hungry so I savored everything and came to conclusion that Tony's Barbacoa is good & I could definitely see why their a 5 star restaurant. Now the charro beans were ok! I'm not going to say they were good because they just weren't like the ones I make or my momma make but they were healthy looking ones lol overall all I review 5 stars because of the great customer service and the barbacoa and big red were bomb .com! My plate "No Tenia chanza" will be going back for sure!

Update on menu and prices!!! Totally worth it!

Absolutely LOVE Tony and his barbacoa!!! The corn tortillas are the best in town as well as his beans and spicy salsa. I do not have one bad thing to say, I love all of his food!

Storefront isn't where they put profits!

Great breakfast tacos - I did simple bacon and egg - fresh super hot. Weirdly they didn't have cheese for a bean and cheese, but family run, authentic to this South Texas native. I wouldn't have tried this place without Yelp. Looks sketchy. But yum! Glad I took a chance.

Cute little hole in the wall restaurant that's open Fri/Sat/Sun from 7am-3pm. My Mom had been telling me about how great their food was so I decided to get my usual breakfast tacos and try their barbacoa. I would suggest ordering/calling in rather than dining in because they only have three small tables. You order right when you walk in and Tony's offers a nice selection ranging from family barbacoa meals at $25+ or simple breakfast tacos at $1.25. I felt as if I was walking into a small grocery store catered to all after church needs, plenty of Big Red, fresh packaged tortillas, and other items. The people running the show were pleasant and constantly busy answering phones. The tacos were a bit small but very good. The barbacoa went perfectly with their green salsa that was almost too HOT for me to bear. The carne guisada with cheese was very tender and to my liking they used American cheese instead of cheddar. The corn and regular tortillas are all extremely tasty. I'll definitely be back to sample more items. You must try this place if you're a barbacoa fan! For some odd reason Yelp wouldn't allow me to check in when I was ordering.

A coworker recommended Tony's after I told him there weren't any good Mexican places around me since my beloved one was closed due to a kitchen fire. Went in around 12 and thankfully he wasn't sold out. I got the #2 which was 1LB of barbacoa, 1 order of charro beans, 10 tortillas of your choosing, and salsa. The barbacoa was great, there wasn't any fat and it had great flavor. I was disappointed in the tortillas, they looked store bought but when I heated them up, they were redeemed. I'm not sure they are home made, though. The charro beans had great flavor but could have been cooked a bit more. The salsa verde was AMAZING. It had amazing flavor and a burst of heat. We will be returning customers

Barbacoa was DELICIOUS only reason for 4 stars is I was hoping for "thick Fluffy" style flour tortillas. Tortillas were good but more of a thin style. But if you don't mind either way then it was definitely a 5 star barbacoa

Barbacoa really good! Tamales not so good.

We arrived around 5pm on a Thursday and got in queue which was out the door and wrapping around the front porch. Their host/doorman was kind, he offered the line water on many occasions and made pleasantries with almost all guests as the line moved. It was a hot day so those waters were clutch. By the time we made it to the front of order line maybe 40 minutes had passed. But ladies and gents the wait is worth it. When we plated our trays on the table my family all had heart eyes, and had equally loved our first bites. Their brisket is extremely tender. It's beautifully sliced and made for an amazing welcome back to the South taste for me. I was in heaven. I particularly enjoyed having the fresh pickled red onion for fresh, zesty cuts through the abundance of other saltier elements on the plate. Their menu is slammin! Their sides, and sausages all had crafty ingredients. I enjoyed their spicy link options and their macaroni was delightful. Their BBQ sauce was a nice 4/5 but certainly did the job. As a native Texan who's had their fair share, this was easily some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Top 5 top 5 top 5. I'm of course coming back and looking forward for more banana cream pudding especially. They were small, slightly sweet, and had great balance with the vanilla wafer ratio. That whip cream on top too had me hooked. I couldn't have asked for a better welcome back meal for the bold Texas cuisine, hospitality, and novelty animal and cowboy decor.

Favorite item was the Alamo huevos rancheros. This was a rare treat to enjoy a dish with brisket, cheese, and salsa without some kind of heartburn afterwards. But this was lighter than expected and tasted amazing! Other dishes we tried: Egg white frittata: very good and a nice touch that it is served in a skillet! Texas waffle: was one of the best waffles either of us has had in a long time Blueberry pancakes: very good. I really enjoyed the stewed blueberry Chilaquiles: this we felt was the only miss. Didn't like that it was prepared with tortilla chips instead of fried tortillas Steak and eggs: ask for extra chimichurri sauce and maybe add some extra salt. Once you do that, this dish is fantastic Avocado toast: this definitely needs smoked salmon or other protein. Otherwise it isn't very substantial. I had it with smoked salmon and it really hit the spot. The service was polite and attentive. We're excited to return for our next visit

Y'know it's impossible to find street parking especially on the weekends normally. I had made reservations to meet some friends here for brunch/lunch 1145 am on a Sunday. This place is bigger than it looks! There's seating at the main building, plus a huge outdoor patio seating area, and an entire other building beautifully decorated. The hostess was welcoming and friendly and our server was excellent. We were seated in the other building near the windows. The menu wasn't huge, but just right with a few lunch and brunch items. After debating for a while of what to order, I decided on the Texas Gulf Shrimp plate. Agua Fresca of the day per our server was strawberry pineapple. Our server was able to water mine down slightly- since it was very sweet, but love knowing that it was freshly made. Complimentary chips and salsa always a plus, and we were able to order some spicy salsa to accompany at no charge. My shrimp plate was delicious! 2 skewers of nicely cooked and seasoned shrimp atop salsa with perfectly cooked cilantro rice and a fresh leaf salad. A half slices avocado accompanied my plate. Oh how I love avocados. I thoroughly enjoyed my plate. The chicken al carbon was also a good choice - half a chicken that was juicy, not dry. The avocado toast was beautiful and the pecan salsa was quite interesting. The female performers during our brunch in the room, made it very hard for all of us to have conversations. The volume echoed loudly in the room, so it was very hard to speak and understand each other. Although a great idea, maybe outdoor patio area might be more suitable. Beautiful space, great service, good food.

It is served over green curry, which also happens to be my favorite! The brisket is served on top of the curry bowl, so I first tried just the meat. It was also delicious and filled with potatoes and carrots! I am used to green curry being pretty spicy, but this is definitely a milder green curry. When I mixed the brisket in it was the perfect combination! The smokey meat blended with the curry spices was a delight to the palette, and it was just the right amount of food for a big and hungry guy like me!
