His quote was by far the most affordable of any I'd received. 3 hours later his crew was on site (on a holiday) and they brought down one of our 45' trees by the end of the day. Carlo Ramirez has worked for me for over 10 years. I am proud of the way he has expanded his business. We first started with general lawn cleanup about three times a year.....he put in a new front lawn for me.......he started a weekly gardening service.......he obtained a state contractor's license. My lawn is his lawn. When I had a major exterior remodel, he was in agony as my grass was dying. As soon as the painters left, his crews came in and adapted my landscaping to the new remodel. We never officially arranged anything, it was simply done. Any issues are taken care of immediately. Tony & his company are amazing!!! Tony came to our new house the day I contacted his company for an estimate. We just moved and there was a section of concrete that had sunk a good 3 inches from the sidewalk. Having a toddler and being concerned for anyone visiting, we needed to fix this tripping hazard immediately. So, I began getting quotes for that work. But, the problem was that I also really hated the landscaping that the previous homeowner had put in. After quite a long time of neglect, it was overgrown in areas, dry in others, the soil was hard as a rock in some sections, and some of the plants had grown so large they were blocking meters and valves. Also, the sprinklers were set up in a way that had caused water/termite damage on a section of the front porch. The prior owner did replace the damaged section, but we didn't want to have the same thing happen to us... So, after reading through yelp reviews and looking at the website, I had a good feeling and reached out to Tony. As noted above, he met with me shortly after my 1st phone call to the office. Not only could they fix the concrete slab (for less than other quotes), but also address all of the issues mentioned above. He immediately had the same vision I had for our new home and really worked with us on pricing. Once everything was agreed upon, they began working. Literally, that afternoon Tony and his men began ripping out the dead bushes and hard soil. They are wrapping up their work now, so in total, the job took just about 4 days! We are so pleased and hoping that others in our new neighborhood will utilize Tony and his team to revitalize their yards. We also plan on using Tony's BC Tree Services for the monthly maintenance on the beautiful work they did for us (we trust the professionals much more than ourselves). Tony did a great job trimming all our trees. One had not been trimmed in 14 years and had cut off the sunshine to most of the side yard and stopped a lemon tree from producing. Now there is light and everything will get healthy again. On the other side of the house we had a mini orchard with a variety of fruit trees and he trimmed these so production will be good. He also transformed the front of the house from very sad looking to very neat and presentable. He answered our call for a quote within half an hour and started the job that same day. The job was finished the end of the next day. He is coming back after the weekend to complete sealing the trees and will even fix the one sprinkler that was broken in the process. I highly recommend Tony and his crew. They were efficient and left everything clean as well. Five stars!!! *Update - unfortunately the sprinkler did not get fixed so have had to hand water. We had Carlo give us an estimate to remove two huge trees and set an appointment for the following week . The crew came out on time and they were very professional and really nice too. They worked like super robots taking down the trees. These two trees were also in a location that made it a lot harder for them to work around. They did a great job. PLUS , they cleaned the yard of all leaves AND cleaned the entire roof and rain gutters. All the rain gutters around the entire house ! We needed tree trimming and we have used this company in the past and they did a good job. This time I needed additional work to be done-a fruit tree and 2 rose bushes trimmed. Tony went to the property and called me with a quote and suggested some additional bushes be trimmed and another tree taken out due to termites. I agreed but was never sent a formal quote until after the work was completed. Later that day my tenant called and let me know that the roses were cut down and the stumps left in the ground. I went to the property to look myself and the fruit tree still had moldy dead fruit left on it and the rose bushes which were over 25 years old but still in decent shape were gone. I sent a text to Tony with no response. I sent another text 2 days later and finally received a call back. He apologized for the roses being cut down and offered to buy and plant 2 new bushes, clean up the fruit tree within 4 days. The clean-up/fix work was NEVER done. I will not use this company again and I didn't pay them for the fruit tree and rose bush-if they come finish what they promised then I will pay them. It's too bad because they did well in the past and other people on the street use them and had recommended them to me. If they had finished the job like they said they would then I wouldn't be writing this review and I would use them again. He was very proud of his good reviews and asked me several times to write a review so here it is! My opinion-he is way too busy and can't keep his customers straight. I had to call to get an invoice and the lady who answered the phone didn't know how much to charge me because it was never communicated to her-I had to tell her what was discussed for price. PS-the work was done in Garden Grove 3/5/17: Update- I was contacted by Steve who arranged a time to properly finish the fruit tree trimming and plant 2 new roses. During the process of the tree removal, one of Tony's guy accidentally dropped a large branch onto my vinyl fence. This resulted in the top portion being cracked. Called Tony's Bc tree service to get a last minute tree removal/ stump grind done. We are having a pool installed in our backyard and thought the excavation crew could remove the existing stumps with their mini bobcat but it was too risky being that the stumps were close to the walls. So I called Tonys last minute and he arrived within 20 minutes after our call and gave me a great deal and had his crew on the way within 30 minutes after we spoke, needless to say the job didn't get held up because Tony and his crew were quick to respond and got the job done. This rating is only for their communication and lack of professionalism. We did not hire them to do our work because we couldn't get them back out to our property. First impression was good- I contacted him through yelp and he came out that night to give us a quote. I got a couple more quotes that week and contacted him to come do the stump removal, but wanted to save the other projects for another time due to our budget. Tony said he wanted to come out one more time to see exactly what we wanted done. He said he would be there in 45 mins, 90 mins past so I called him, he said another hour. I said I needed to leave for work but my husband would be available at 6pm- he said he would come at 6pm and he never showed up. I texted him a couple days later and never heard back. If your company doesn't have the time to do our work that's fine but at least communicate that to the customer, who is planning their schedule around what you tell them. read more

These guys were great! Tony came out to give me an estimate in the morning, and said he could come back the same day to remove a very large grapefruit tree in our backyard. He also trimmed back some ivy. They came back the same afternoon, with a very clean truck and a very friendly crew. They cut down the tree, pulled out the stump and trimmed the ivy in about 3 hours. They took all the wood away, cleaned everything up, swept, etc. My backyard was cleaner when hey left than when they got there! I first called him on a Saturday morning to get a quote (based off of his Yelp reivews), and he called me back within 10 minutes -- by late afternoon that same day he was at my house giving me an estimate of costs for the work I needed done. He also had a photo album of jobs that he had completed, and it was clear to me that he was truly an arborist and not just a guy who could cut limbs off of a tree--having someone who understands tree growth and behavior is crucial to healthy tree life. His crew was efficient, tidy and had everything hauled away in one day--they even coiled up my garden hose the way it should be done! He even sends copies of his insurance certification and business license with his invoicing--a nice legitimate and professional touch. They gave us an estimate on our tree's, lawn, and bushes the same day I called. They were at my house within 2 hours of me calling them. The estimate was very reasonable. We found Tony through Yelp. I looked at a few reviews & thought great I'll give him a call this was November 16, 2016. We had an olive tree in our front yard that was infested with termites so we had him remove it. His crew was great a lot of hard work to remove the tree. He asked about replacing the tree and I mentioned that I was thinking of putting a crepe myrtle and he said that he can have a crepe myrtle here within a day or two and that he would give us a great discount so we did. Everything went smoothly I asked him what kind of warranty the tree has and he said one yr. Well our year is not up yet and just before the Labor Day on Sept. 3rd the tree that they put in fell over. The stake that they put to support the tree cracked causing the tree to fall. My husband tried to put the stake back in to support the tree but he wasn't able and the tree broke in half. I immediately called Tony an apologized for calling during the holiday weekend but we were frantic about the tree. He asked me to send pictures which I did and that he would get back to me and he said he would take care of the situation not to worry. I called again on the 5th of Sept. each time he answered the phone like I was a new client and how could he help me. I explained that I've been waiting for him to call me so he could come out to see the tree. He again asked me to take pictures which I told him I did but would send them again. I called later the same day to make sure he got the pictures he again answered his cell like he didn't know who I was so once again I explained why I was calling! He said oh yes let me look and I'll call you back. Sept. 6th still waiting for a call Sept 8th still waiting for him to call so I called again and he said he'd be out on Monday the 11th and I'm still waiting. My husband said a very expensive lesson to be learned the guys a real jerk and for me to stop calling him as he wasn't going to returned any of your calls. I can't believe he would do this to customers, take our money and when something happens he does nothing! He started off to be a really nice person and promises a lot but that's because he wants your money and does not back up what he says! We found Tony and his crew while working on several of our neighbors homes. He gave my husband a reasonable quote and we decided to book him. His guys showed up early Saturday morning and got straight to work. They trimmed a ficus tree, two red leafs, one silver sheen, planted a new silver sheen and trimmed twenty large thin trees. The twenty trees are actually on the other side of the wall which his guys had to climb over to access them. His workers were hard working, friendly and very detailed. Juan would check up on us to see if we were happy with their work or if they needed to change anything. They picked up every branch that was cut and left the back yard spotless.
