I ordered from Tony's on a Tuesday night for delivery figuring "hey it's Tuesday night and it shouldn't take that long"...very wrong. Delivery took 2 hours! It took 2 hours for 4 rice balls and 2 pies (1 pepperoni pie and 1 white pie with broccoli rabe). All we could think of was wow two hours hope this is the best food we ever eat! Wrong! Guess again because the food was absolutely terrible. The rice balls were smashed flat and I am assuming this was an easy way of heating them thoroughly...besides the fact that the looked stepped on I tried them hoping for a miracle that they would taste good. The rice had a lemon flavor which was different but whatever cheese was in there tasted sour and a few days past its due date. The kicker and this was the absolutely best...we got the wrong pie! So we paid extra for a white pie and never got it. Instead they sent one with red sauce...I don't know if they were having an off day or they just don't care. Either way skip this place! Born and raised in Manhattan, I moved to Greenpoint 10 years ago. Tony's Pizza captured my heart. The Uncle Phil pie is something I have raved about to countless friends over the years. Tonight, my sister and nephews came to my place and requested the best pizza in the neighborhood. They've traveled all the way from the Bay Area of California. My face lit up as I said we're going to order the Uncle Phil from Tony's Pizza! It's my favorite in the neighborhood. Well, what do you know. Apparently things have changed at Tony's on Graham Avenue. After placing the order for my beloved Uncle Phil pie and a few other items, we waited an hour as I raved about how this is going to be the best pizza they've ever had. The delivery person handed over the goods. I was very excited to open the pizza box. After all, I had paid full price and tipped very well. As usual. To my dismay, the pizza in the box did not even resemble the Uncle Phil pie that I have been ordering from Tony's for about a decade. My family was so hungry, they tore into it. Wouldn't you, after waiting an hour for pizza? I needed to know what had gone wrong, so I called Tony's to ask. Something resembling a female answered the phone, and quickly gave me strong attitude regarding the incorrect order. When I asked if anything was going to be done to make it right, she said someone would return to take the food back. I was confused. I asked if the order would be corrected, or simply cancelled. She seemed infuriated, like a rabid dog. Things devolved quickly. I thanked her for nothing, listened to her nasty voice talk down to me, and threw my cell phone across the room in anger. Now, before you judge me as someone who you think probably writes nasty Yelp reviews all the time, click on my name. What are you going to find? Maybe two reviews. This kind of anger regarding food is seldom awakened in my tamed adult self. I had no choice but to pause family time, and help to prevent your life from being negatively impacted by trolls. Their pizza is absolutely delicious, the crust is amazing and the sauce/cheese are top-quality.. you can tell. However their hugeeeee menu is what keeps me coming back, whether rice balls, calzones, meatballs, heros (fried clam hero was amazing), every kinda pasta you'd ever want, wraps, soups, you name it. The lasagna was fine and bread were these fancy croissant looking things also good, but I want Italian bread with my lasagna. I ask if Tony still owns it because this looks like another attempt to make a regular pizza joint more upscale to try to hustle you into paying more. Stop with the gentrifying please. I've been ordering from Tony's for years. Their prices are fair and make pretty good pizza. The pizzeria itself is a bit small in size but it got the goods. They also serve Italian ice here. I was at a friend's house last night and we ordered delivery from here. Although there were a few blips, overall the food was super good & their menu is quite extensive. Our food came in a reasonable amount of time, although they forgot one item which it took them forever to bring back. Luckily that was dessert so we didn't mind waiting for it. So, besides the delivery issue everything else was great! We ordered a Napolitan pizza with mushrooms and olives, some sauteed broccoli rabe, stuffed mushrooms, and zapolis. All of our items were delicious except the stuffed mushrooms. The stuffing was a soggy mess and the mushrooms were too big to eat in one bite, but too tough to cut through with a fork. Avoid this item! The pizza was delicious - great sauce, fresh cheese & toppings, soft yummy crust. Need I say more? The zapolis were a kind of fried dough dusted with powdered sugar - tasted kind of like a donut. They're probably incredibly bad for you, but they tasted amazing. Highly recommended! read more

This place is so frustrating! The food is about a 3.5, and I order here a lot because it's the only Italian that has online ordering in my neighborhood. They always take a while to get here, which I can handle, but what's frustrating is that they never ring my buzzer. It has my name and apt. # on it, so I don't understand the confusion. Instead, the delivery guy just calls and says he's downstairs. When I tell him which buzzer to ring, he just acts like he doesn't know what I'm saying. I'd think it's a language barrier, but a lot of delivery people don't speak a lot of English, and yet this never happens with anyone else. So I end up having to walk downstairs and get it at the front door. This time was the last straw... I didn't have my ringer on, so instead of trying to buzz the door when I didn't answer my phone, they just left. Eventually I noticed the call and they came back, but they still didn't ring my buzzer. Oh, and they forgot my coke that I paid for. Honestly, this is my first one star review (I would give it zero) I have ever written. I try to give most establishments the benefit of the doubt, since I know what its like to work in the service industry, but after my experience with Tony's, I can do nothing more than strongly warn people about what a total shame this place is. The food, to be fare, isn't bad, but I've suffered through a lot less for a lot better. The complaint is basic. The food was over a half hour late. The reaction from Steve (apparently the owner/manager or something) was absolutely ridiculous. After I called a second time to see where my food was, not only did he offer no solution to the situation, but actually was arrogant enough to suggest that it was my fault to believe that they would hold to the estimated time Seamless web had quoted. He then promptly hung up on me when I asked what he was going to do to make it better.
