Tony's offers consistently delicious grinders and the salads are also as good as you would expect from a pizza joint. I have been eating at Tony's for the past 11 years and there is no other place I would prefer for grinders. This is definitely a popular place with CCSU students, it's close and satisfies hunger. The service was pretty bad by our waitress, but the lady that works there behind the counter is so friendly every time I go. It's pretty good pizza. Had the buffalo chx pizza for delivery...when we opened the box at home we were completely disappointed...it was burnt and unflavorful and didn't have much chicken in it at all. I absolutely love Tony's Pizza. This small business treats you very well, with the servers giving you all their attention. The owners are very kind and treat you like family. My favorite food to eat there is their grinders. They are huge, and for the price that they are, a fantastic value. Although sometimes, the food takes a little long to come out, it is worth the wait. Aside from the eternal waits for water, food, and anything else requiring service from staff there, it is hard to distinguish them from most other pizza/grinder restaurants. They benefit from their location, where there are few other options. Salads are fresh and copious, but if you don't have a couple of hours to spare, you should probably not go here. read more

This place is great, I have been going to ccsu for three years and I finally got a chance to go here. I ordered the small salad with tuna on it and it was amazing and huge! The food was really really good the delivery was fast and the woman taking our order was very pleasant and she was a lot of fun. We got a pizza with 3 toppings.... Pepperoni sausage and bacon it was exceptional you could tell that all the toppings and were fresh as well as the dough that the crust was made from..... I had the pastrami grinder..... The pastrami was delicious some of the best I've ever had we also ordered baklava for dessert and it was really good not the best baklava I've ever had but it was really good. I'm here for work and ordered a pepperoni pizza to the hotel. pleasantly surprised by what I received. Sauce was excellent and not standard bland, also the crust was great. A tad on the oily side but overall very good and I enjoyed it immensely. When the delivery guy arrived he called my cell, I answered and said "thank you Ill meet you in the lobby". Got to the lobby paid for my pie and went back up to my room. When I got there I saw that he called me three more times, not sure what that's all about. will definitely order again while I'm here. read more

I ordered boneless wings from here a year ago and they were pretty average cabbage...nothing to brag about. I had to give them a Yelp for my latest visit. 3 of my classmates and I decided to head over to Tony's and get some studying done. We were able to spread our notebooks, papers, pens, highlighters, etc all over the table without the waitstaff giving us any grief about it. Our waitress was very friendly and didn't check up on us as often as she was with other customers because she knew we were studying. (at least thats what I think....) I ordered the cheddar broccoli soup and we all split a basket of curly fries. I was excited to see curly fries on the menu (a dying commodity in the fast food place if you ask me) but was so disappointed when they came out! They were like the last bit of fries at the bottom of the basket.....hard, overly crunchy and burnt looking. The soup made up for the crunchy curly fries though. Super creamy, nice chunks of broccoli and a hearty portion. (I got the bowl which is a regular size bowl) BONUS! They had APPLE JUICE! (I'm a kid at heart lol) All in all this is the place to go if you need to get some studying done and grab a bite to eat. My meal only came up to about $8 bucks (music to any college students ears!) and I was stuffed after we left. I will definitely be visiting again! read more

I went to Tony's pizza, in the Dunkin Donuts Plaza next to the CCSU College Campus today, and ordered me a pizza with four toppings, Buffalo Chicken, Jalapeno, Onion, and Eggplant. I am a big fan of spicy food, and the restaurant made this pizza for me perfectly. Usually, if people ask me to tell them if I know a good restaurant, I ask them back, what dish of food are they looking for specifically, because I do not recommend everything everywhere, I make recommendations based on what I like where I like it. And what I have seen is that Tony's Pizza in New Britain, Connecticut makes some of the best buffalo chicken I've ever had. One other thing I like ordering at their restaurant is a buffalo chicken and jalapeno hot sub, hold the tomato. I hope if someone of the neighborhood sees this and likes the same type of food as me, they would go in and order some. I am very disappointed I ordered from here. The pizza took an hour to arrive. The bottom of the pizza was extremely soggy. They forgot my soda so I called the driver back and he asked "do you really want it?" YES I want it I just paid for it and I'm thirsty! After waiting a half hour I called back and the woman on the phone told me he was on his way. Another 15 minutes went by and I missed his call because I was using the bathroom. I called him back and he said he left because I didn't answer. Let me get this straight....I wait an hour for my pizza and then another 45 minutes because you forgot my soda and you couldn't wait 5 minutes for me? Unbelievable. I told him to come back with my soda and he said he's already halfway back to the pizza shop and doesn't want to turn around and said I can have a credit.
