I had left an event in the area and we were starving, so we looked for a spot close by with the best Yelp reviews and found Tony's. Once arriving at Tony's we weren't greeted by anyone and thought that we would have to order our food at the pickup counter, but after asking a waitress that was walking by, we just chose our own seat. The menu had plenty of options and the thing that I think stood out to me the most were the prices of the food. It seemed as if years went by restaurants raised their prices, but Tony's has kept theirs around the same. I decided to order a lasagna and it was fine, nothing special. It felt like a lasagna that I could make myself at home. However, I think that for the price I got what I paid for. The service in the place was great and it gave a very family friendly atmosphere. Tony's is a great place, very good food at crazy low prices. Inflation has passed this place by, including free garlic rolls with Mariana sauce. I would rate it 9.5 out of 10 if I could, with a slight discount for service, as the staff sometimes gets behind vs. the number of customers. It is usually a busy place. Bring your own wine and leave a big tip for the hustling wait staff. And try the Tortellini Bolognese. read more

There's a reason people look for NY-style Italian in Dallas and not the other way around. In fact, Dallas-style Italian isn't a thing...or is it? Apparently it is, and it can be found at Tony's because it is always packed. They must be doing something right, I just can't figure out what it is. The pizza is solid. If I were strictly basing this review on the pizza it would be better. The problem is everything else. I've had entrees and appetizers here that have been poorly prepared (overcooked or undercooked). Service was relatively quick. Complimentary garlic knots and marinara sauce were brought to the table. There's red pepper flakes, salt and pepper on your table too, if you wants a kick. I ordered the veggie slice. My friend got the two with meat. So, we got to try a bit of both. Slices were huge. A little thicker a crust than traditional Ny. I wasn't mad at it. It came out crispy and tasted great. Friends told us we had to try the cannoli. Two came to an order. Between the bread, slice and cannolo, I was set. Coming from the East coast, I'm a hard sell. This is my son's favorite place so my daughter planned a special dinner for his birthday Oct 2. It was a Monday night but we needed the back room and took up several tables! We had one server but she was so attentive - Nora was the main one and she was on it! She brought drinks quickly. By the way, they do not sell alcohol here so you're welcome to bring your own, which none of us did, lol. I forgot. I rarely eat Italian food, even though I love it, so I ordered my 'usual' manicotti in alfredo sauce instead of the marina sauce. They got it right and served it boiling hot. The rolls were served in baskets and there was plenty to keep us occupied while we waited on our meals. I saw pizza, salads, lots of great-looking dishes. And when the time came to serve the cake my daughter brought, they walked in with candles lit and enough plates for everyone. What a fantastic serving staff, and a great attitude on top of that. We all needed to-go boxes, which gave us the opportunity to savor the flavor the next day and remind me that I need to go back soon. I love this place, I wanna be this place! Lol! It was my first time eating there & it immediately became my favorite Italian restaurant in the DFW area! It reminds me of Garozzo's in Kansas City. AND...... it's BYOB!! You can't beat that! Period! Lol! The food was amazing, marinara was so deep and tasted authentic, Alfredo sauce was creamy and flavorful, and all of the pasta was cooked perfectly! The veal parmigiana, eggplant parmigiana, and fettuccine Alfredo were all phenomenal! Now if we are being honest the calamari was not that great but everything else was so phenomenal that they are still getting 5 stars! The service was great! Everyone was so polite and the ambiance felt like a little mom and pop place and that is a very good thing! Plenty of seating with extra space in the back. The food was too good, I didn't even get a picture! Mozzarella sticks, pizza, and homemade bread all amazing 100/10!!! Our server was also very sweet and friendly! My toddlers said their "please and thank you"s and she came back with a cookie for each of them for being polite. We walked in about 40 minutes until closing and they didn't seem to mind, that sat us and served us right away, the food came out piping hot and timely. There were still a good amount of people in the restaurant as well, about half the open seating area had busy tables and I see why!! We'll definitely be visiting this place again read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. I would give Tony's six stars if I could. Huge portions at low prices accompanied by baskets of pillowly garlic bread. Menu highlights include the alfredo, tortellini bolognese, the chicken and shrimp cramora, and the stromboli. I think their pizza is just okay in the shadow of their amazing pasta dishes and turnovers. The bill is usually less than $15 per person, and you will have leftovers. If you split with someone, the bill is under $10. My modest criticisms include that they are stingy with the salt, but better to under-season than over-season. I salt my entrees myself, and they taste great. It can also get pretty loud inside, but that comes with eating somewhere with great food. Lots of people there to enjoy it. I come here about once a month with my Meetup group. Never is there an unhappy customer in our group. We will be back for years to come! read more

Definite decline in the food. On 10/25 I ordered take-out chicken picca and chicken sofretto. They totally skipped the necessary step of pounding the chicken breast thin. They were just thick chicken breasts. Flavorless and tough. The pasta accompaniment was drastically overcooked. No texture left to it. I'm sad to see the decline in the restaurant. I've lived in the neighborhood for 30 years and been there more times than I can count. Does anyone know? Has the ownership/management changed. Hiring untrained kitchen staff? I no longer feel comfortable recommending this place to friends or visitors. I won't be going back. Predict they won't be around much longer. read more
