    Grilled local pork chop

Who knew we'd find great falafel in Three Rivers, CA? We stopped Tony's on our recent trip to Sequoia National Park. It looked inviting and had excess parking (many places in the area lack ample parking). We were pleasantly surprised to find out there is great Greek restaurant here with excellent food. Their bar serves a good selection wine and beer. We had falafel as an appetizer and it was quite good. My husband had the grilled local pork chop. It was moist and delicious. I had a small Greek salad with gyro meat. The dressing and the sauce for the gyro were homemade and quite tasty. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was light and comfortable. We ate inside but they have a lovely covered patio and on the Friday night we were there they had live music on the patio.

Beautiful place inside and out! We went on Mother's Day and sure enough the place was packed. I had a reservation at 1 and was seated right away, awesome! Our server Katrina recommended the sangria to start things off and a sides of Hummus, both were delicious, some of the best fresh sangria we had had! I ordered the lamb shank as it is rare to find a place the truly knows had to do it right. They nailed it, tender juicy fall of the bone love. Nestled on a bed of mashed potato's with gravy and roasted carrots. If you love lamb this is your gig! We will be back, thanks Katrina for your fun spirit and great service on a very busy day.

We've heard a lot of great things about Tony's Taverna and we were so excited to try it out for ourselves. We made a same-day reservation and showed up for dinner on a Sunday evening. The hostess was charming and kind. We were seated in the patio, the first guest of the evening shift. The waiter did take a little while to greet us. Once greeted, he was kind and professional. We ordered an appetizer and then he never returned until he delivered our entrées. He also didn't return again until we were done with our meal. We wanted water refills and bread refills. We had further questions and he was nowhere to be found. We started with the Grilled Spanish Octopus which was so refreshing. Will definitely order that again. My husband had the Branzino and the rice was overly al dente like way too al dente. We waited for the waiter to come back so we can discuss the rice but again he left us a bit stranded. The food got cold as we waited and waited to flag down the waiter but he was no where to be found. My husband reluctantly ate the cold hard rice. I had the salmon gnocchi. It was good but extremely heavy. The baklava was a nice size and was delicious. Once the waiter arrived with the bill we shared our food experience with him and he said he'd notify the kitchen but that was it. No service. He didn't even try to make it right. Just a bit disappointing. I can only give 3 stars as the service was lacking and the rice was sadly a miss! The bill was $147 and I wished we could say it was worth it.

We came to Tony's with no reservation and we were seated within 10 minutes. Our server was Naomi and she was so amazing and sweet. Gave us great recommendations for the food, which did not disappoint, and some local recommendations as well. We enjoyed talking with her for a bit. The food was delicious and good portion size, especially the Lemon Chicken! We are visiting on vacation but will be back again.

    Halloumi appetizer was so good!

So good we actually went there both nights of our trip! First night, hubby had the ribeye and I had the halibut & chips...both excellent. The second night we had the avgolemono soup and a cheeseburger...so dang good. Do not miss Tony's!

Tony's Taverna food Is authentic Mediterranean style, Greek to be specific. The restaurant ambience takes me back to the Greek islands we visited years ago. Tony, his wife and daughter are so kind and welcoming as soon as you step in to their place. We visited on a Sunday and the live music was so cool. His daughter is a good musician and if you get lucky she would perform a melody for you to enjoy. Highly recommended, reservations encouraged. Opaa!

    Branzino - it was delicious!!

We came here during a trip to Sequoia and it was the best meal we had on the trip. There was a long wait on a weekend even though we got there around 4:30pm and there was a lot of open seating. We also had to wait a while for service and to get our food. Not sure if they were understaffed but the food made up for it and they were also friendly. The branzino was my favorite - it had a smoky flavor to it and no bones. It complimented the rice nicely and we subbed the veggies for fries. The fries were huge and delicious! The place is new/remodeled and had plenty of seating inside. There was also an outdoor covered area with live music playing and sports on the tvs. Would come back on the next trip and make a reservation to hopefully help with the wait or get take out.

We came across Ol Buckaroo off a recommendation by our AirBnB Host. It was so good we came in TWICE for dinner on different days during our stay. I'll highlight both meals I had. But first, the service was great. Both times we came in the restaurant wasn't terribly busy (around 5 PM on weekdays) and we were seated right away. Keep in mind by 6ish/6:30 loads of customers were coming in. The restaurants is cute and small inside with maybe 10-12 tables, but a ton of outdoor seating with mist-fans. We decided to stay inside both times. Our servers who take care of us on both days were attentive and kind, getting us everything we needed quickly and constantly checking on us. Regarding the food: 1st night I ordered the "Pesto Pasta with chicken"--Spaghetti with a creamy basil pesto sauce. To drink I ordered their house-made soda--soda with Watermelon flavoring (yum). You get a large portion of delicious spaghetti (definitely your money's worth) soaked in pesto sauce. The chicken was tender and moist. It was a perfect, carb-filled meal following a long day of hiking. The soda was also tasty and fresh. I highly recommend this dish to anyone coming in with some big-time hunger. The 2nd visit I ordered the "Buckaroo Burger:"--a durham ranch beef patty, American Cheese, lettuce, tomato and Buckaroo sauce. I had a side of fries and to drink, the "Pims Cup:" Sparkling Water, lemon, cucumber, and fruit garnish. On the menu the drink is described as, "slightly sweet and refreshing with a hint of anise flavor," perfectly described and true. The burger was good (maybe not as good as the Pesto Pasta I had a couple nights before, but good). It was everything a good burger should be! Ol Buckaroo contributed to our amazing stay and vacation and we hope to come back one day. We'll definitely be recommending to any of our friends and family who ever plan to go to Sequoia or Kings Canyon National Parks. What a gem.

After ordering my food I didn't know because this was my first time here, but the chips that come with a meal will be located to your left, and if you order a drink you pick up your own cup on the left side of the soda machine. I say this to you because it wasn't told to me and after receiving my food I had to get up and grab it myself. The food was not good good but it wasn't horrible, with that being said I wouldn't recommend this place at all. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and asked for EASY CHEESE and got so much cheese. The chicken was like shredded and cooked in something because it wasn't just basic plain shredded chicken. The blt was ordered for my son who said the bread tasted gross and sandwich had no flavor. Now how the heck can anyone mess up a basic blt‍. I ordered basic hamburger. Lettuce and tomato were great, it had too much special sauce and the meat was just meat. Their potato salad is actually some of the best I've ever had but the macaroni salad now if you like food that you can chew with no flavor then I highly suggest ordering the mac salad lol. There's a first for everything and also a last and this location was definitely that for us. Why did we eat the food? Well we used a lot of energy and needed to refuel our body, plus I hate wasting money so I was not about to throw the food away.

But there was something we had not considered, we were going to be going to a place that required us to be fresh and ready to receive the wonder of place by a lack and we only had the energy for an angry stop at a gas station. So this place I visited when I was tired and that kind of gunked up the experience. If I would have gone with more energy to fully open my eyes than this experience would have been wondrous. When I booked the reservation I did it because it was a place by a lake. I enjoy water front dining and I usually use an ocean for scenery and today I was in a place where I could use a large creek. And since I was not going with any specific expectations that lake hit me like a bucket of wow. I remember like seeing the mouth of the lake going down like actual rocks. Like I was seeing the waters that people raft on with commitment to the outdoors. It felt like I had traveled into a place where trees were purest, bird melodies were the only noise in town (besides the water running in the creek), and cabins belonged to those who called the mountains home. I was in a novel and for some reason I felt like it was written by Twain. And that is really what I can say about this place. That is mostly what I remember the beauty of the creek. I wanted to spend more time there, I could have walked it, they had like a lounge but I did not. But I do remember the forested view that went on, and the roaring, jagged leg being a central character other than that I have small things to say. I remember the salad being ok. Denise and I shared a dish, I can't remember why but we did not eat the whole thing. It was inherently bad. But this could have been an off night, or just not the dish of the place, and really you go here for the lake, and the food was great in some ways just not in this specific way. I went to this place a few weeks ago, and, if I had not make it clear I remember the experience of being with the lake. So go here for that experience and let the rest just fall into place.

Customer service plays a huge role in the relationship between a restaurant and its customers. A friendly attitude and welcoming environment can make all the difference.
