My travel companions and I decided to try this new Greek restaurant on the last day of our stay. After some awful food at other restaurants in town, we saw this had good Yelp reviews and it was recommended by the guy at the local market. We stopped in for lunch, and right away the place looks beautiful. They really spent some money renovating, decorating, and the tables and chairs are high quality and comfortable. We had burgers and a gyro wrap. All were delicious! We decided this is where we should have dinner too, with a much more expansive menu. We returned for dinner, and on a Monday off-season they managed to pull in a good crowd. People really like this spot. Ok the food was absolutely amazing!! Wow!!! We couldn't believe this restaurant is in Three Rivers. This could rival any restaurant we've been to in San Diego, and there's a lot of great restaurants back home. Two of us got the lamb shank and one got the pork chop. My companion said the chop was amazing, and sides equally as good. The lamb shank though, OMG! So flavorful, tender, just one of the best I've ever had. Our server explain that it cooks overnight. They put a lot of love in their food and it shows. The sides were outstanding as well. Everything was just perfect. And dessert didn't disappoint, just amazing. Our server, Alejandro, was super friendly, attentive, and added to the wonderful experience. We enjoyed talking with him, getting the back story on the restaurant, and learning more about the area. He has nothing but praise for the chefs and owner. What a nice guy! 5 stars for service!! This place is so good! Very large, great for big or small groups. We went for dinner one day and lunch the next and it was busy both times. I forgot pictures of the food but it is absolutely delicious! The branzino is fantastic some of the best I've ever had . We had most of the appetizers they were fantastic. We got the hummus to go day before to bring it into the park and that was a great idea. They have a great beer selection, wonderful atmosphere, and great staff. All and all a wonderful place to eat if you are coming from the parks or staying in town. Highly recommended the branzino for dinner and any appetizer. read more

Literally the worst service I've had in a long time, we sat down and were completely ignored for 30 minutes straight. Not even like they forgot about us, they would make eye contact with us and turn the other way to serve other people. The ambience is good I found the lights a bit too bright for my taste but nothing major. It took a while to get our orders taken maybe like 15-20 minutes of servers walking by and no one acknowledging us. But once we got our server a very lovely lady she was very attentive and explained they were busier than expected and short staffed and got our orders in pretty quickly. We got the mediterranean calamari to start with and it was very fresh and had a good taste to it. The bread was excellent. I got the branzino and boyfriend got the pastisio and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals the branzino was huge and had great flavor to it and the pastisio was hearty & comforting. I'll definitely be back! I've been a couple times with family and everything we've had there is delicious, fresh, and great quality! I also feel like you get a really good amount of food for the price. Happy to have leftovers : ) The service has been great so far, and the owners are so friendly. They have really done a great job of trying to honor Three Rivers history, while bringing something new and fresh to town. They've really put a lot of work into it and into creating a beautiful space. I also love that they have live music there on certain nights, and are open for dinner on many holidays. I'm from the Temecula area and I recently went up to the Sequoias for Thanksgiving weekend. Found this amazing spot that just opened about a month and a half ago. I went here both nights that I was there because it was just that good! It's a multi-generational owned family business. The owners are very friendly and also happily social (one of the owners is also the chef). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent too. Everything was of the highest standards. On the 2nd night there was live music. A lot of the people at the restaurant joined in with singing and gave song requests to the pianist. There were very minor inconveniences due to how busy they were (very understandable) but the waiters were superb about handling it all. There was no issues at all and everyone was having a great time. The wait is long (over an hour) if you don't have a reservation, so call ahead of time. If you happen to not have a reservation you can leave and come back (if you're staying close by). Next time I go back to the Sequoia's, I'm definitely going to this Tonys again. read more

I was very underwhelmed. It was somewhat upsetting because I had been waiting for this place to open when the construction began. The fries and burger were very mediocre. The Greek salad was also very regular, nothing extraordinary but definitely not worth $22. The pita bread also reminded of something I could get at Costco. The chicken was the worse, it was absolutely dry. Horrible sad to say, I will not be coming here again. I gave it a extra star because it has a very beautiful ambience, and the wine had quite a punch to it. Service wasn't bad but no good, generic one could say. He was friendly, knowledgeable, attentive. He was trained well. Perfecto! This is a must go to restaurant in little Three Rivers CA by Sequoia National Park. Our group of 6 has dinner at Tony's Tavern last night. Although the place looks lovely, the food was passable at best and the service was terrible. We were given 1/4 of a glass of water. I asked if we could have more and our server said yes. When she came back again with wine, my husband asked again and was told yes. I took the water bottle to the bar 15 minutes later when no water has yet arrived. the service was extremely slow. my husband ordered a side of rice instead of potatoes with his very dry pork chop and it arrived when we had all finished our dinner. my pappadelle did not have enough sauce on it and was dry in the middle - we had asked to sing to two of our group with milestone birthdays and our server told us it couldn't be done last night after saying it could be done. Ever since I've lived in Three Rivers, Sierra Subs has reigned undisputed as the king of Three Rivers Restaurants. Well now there can be some dispute, because while Sierra Subs is still spectacular, Tony's is AWESOME! There are a million little decisions that go into running any business, and Tony's feels like they got every single one of them right. The service was quick and friendly, the ambiance was great, and the food...let me give you the rundown on what my wife and I ate: Sky High Sierra Burger- AWESOME Onion Rings- AWESOME Avgolemono Soup- AWESOME Baklava- AWESOME Ice Tea- AWESOME Pilsner Beer on tap- Pretty good. But I'm sure they have an awesome option somewhere in the bar. I plan on going back to find it. Even the ketchup for the onion rings was the best ketchup I've ever had. We hear wonderful things about this place, first time we drove up to try it the wait was too long and the only bad thing with that is they don't have a place or a bar to sit at and wait. We made reservations for Valentine's Day through the website and planned a whole day and evening around it only to get there to find out they had a special menu for $85 and no choices which neither of us would eat . Wanted to believe. Three Rivers needs a good restaurant desperately. Afraid this won't be the one! Alas the beef and chicken were minimally spiced and dry. The "Greek" rice was not what the menu said it was. My dinner according to the menu was to have been accompanied by Pita bread and charred lemon, it was not brought to any of the 4 dinners we purchased. The water was highly chlorinated and undrinkable - ice tea covered it up slightly. GET AN RO SYSTEM! The veggies were under cooked. It was quite loud overall and hard to talk with each other at our table. The service workers were great and properly cordial. Hummus was terrible. A friend who ate here previously warned us not to order the Spanakopita- as the phyllo dough was soggy and tough - we avoided it. OVERALL THE QUALITY COULD NOT COMMAND THE PRICE. Great food, amazing service and ambience! This is a small city family restaurant and they make sure to make you feel like you are at home! The tzatziki is to die for! The beef/lamb gyro is on point! Good flavor and taste! The French fries are out of this world! Sprinkle some lemon juice and they taste even better! I was extremely surprised by the lemon chicken soup! I have tasted a lot of Greek Avgolemono soups around the United States at top rated authentic Greek restaurants and this is by far the closest to the real thing when you go to Greece! Wow, everything was fantastic and that's not an overstatement. We were in a hurry to get into Sequoia so we just ordered a smash burger with cheese and a small Greek salad. The burger was excellent, the flavor was fantastic. We upgraded to onion rings and they were cooked perfectly and the salad was super fresh. Being from Southern California, we have tons of food options but this place really blew me away. Everything up near Sequoia is very rustic but Tony's is new and fresh, the ambiance can't be beat. I've heard really great things about this place so we decided to check it out. To start with the pros, the restaurant is gorgeous and has such a nice vibe. The service was great, food came out quick, and the free bread with dip was such a nice touch. We got the vegetarians paradise to share and unfortunately everything was either stale or soggy, as if it had been sitting out for quite some time. I don't know anyone whole eats chunks of raw onion. In addition I got 8 pieces of pita (while great), and a half a plate of fries. There was no dipping sauce for the pita. So in all I got meat, 8 slices of pita, 4 bite size pieces of tomato, and chunks of raw onion, and a half a plate of fries. The plate was completely unbalanced. We made a reservation for 6pm and arrived at 5:45pm. We were seated fairly quickly at a table outside in the cold. After waiting for more than 30 minutes, we flagging down a waitress to order our drinks and dinner. It took another 30 minutes for water. Then after more than an hour and a half wait, the waitress stated she was sorry but they gave our food to another table. The food finally arrived cold. All in all the dinner took over 2 and a half hours with only an apology and a free hummus. This was the worst service I have received in years. I will never go back. The food tasted okay but the service was so slow, the space heaters did not help much as two in our party had to switch seats to get closer to the heaters as we were seated so far way, outside and it was very cold. I would NOT recommend this restaurant for any reason and put up with awful service. read more
