We stopped here after visiting Sequoia National Park. The place looked busy and the menu looked good so we stopped. The great experience started at front desk with Lace our hostess. She greeted us with a warm and friendly smile and guided us to a nice table in the main dining room. Our server was Michael and he was quite attentive We enjoyed an appetizer that was very good cheese that was grilled with honey and balsamic on sourdough. We then had the chicken souvlaki which was incredible! For dessert it was a raspberry float which was very good. We were on our way to Sequoia National Park and honestly weren't expecting much when it came to food in the area... but Tony's Taverna completely surprised us. This place is such a gem. The vibe is amazing--live music, relaxed but lively atmosphere, and it works perfectly for both lunch or dinner. It's a Mediterranean spot inspired by the flavors of Cyprus, and you can really taste that authenticity in the food. We actually met the chef, and it made the experience even better knowing the care and background behind the menu. Everything felt fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully made--definitely not your typical "tourist area" food. Parking was super easy (which matters a lot on those winding roads), and the location is perfect if you're heading in or out of the park. Inside, it's cozy and comfortable with a homey feel. The Sequoia Burger was packed with flavor, and Tony even brought out a house tzatziki dill sauce for the fries--next level. Finished with carrot cake, excellent. it's been a week since I had dinner at Tony's and I'm still thinking about the salmon I had. it was perfectly cooked and seasoned, in an amazing lemon and caper sauce. While the food was amazing, we also had amazing service from our waitress Naomi, who when she heard my sister in law was sitting in the car with my sleeping 10 month old niece, not wanting to move for fear of waking the baby, Naomi had a a box of warm bread and olive oil made up for use to bring her in the car so she had something to eat while waiting for the baby to wake up and join us. The care and attention we received was unparalleled and frankly I was surprised to be met with such amazing food and staff in little ole Three Rivers. My husband and I visited this establishment last weekend as we were staying in Three Rivers to visit the national parks. We dropped in on Friday around 8pm just for a coffee and dessert but once we were seated, we were not provided any menus nor were we checked on or greeted by a waitress for about 30 minutes. Once we finally ordered our dessert, we noticed others seated around us were also waiting for an absurd amount of time to get attended. We even saw a couple of small parties leave due to the lengthy wait. The restaurant was not even that busy so I'm not sure what the issue was there. The hostess at the front was also proving to be unhelpful during this time as she was just standing there ignoring the calls from the nearby tables requesting a waitress, check, and even a box! Wow, talk about "it's not in my job description"! After we received our check around 9:30pm, my husband paid with his credit card that we also didn't see again for another 15 minutes and once we finally got out of there and after a few days later, he realized that Tony's not only charged for our $27 bill but someone else's $100+ bill. We were already home at this point so all he could do was call his credit card company and Tony's to get the $100+ charge refunded. After speaking to manager Derek, the issue has still not been resolved. Apparently neither of those charges could be "found in their system". We still also have not received a call back from this manager as he stated he would do as of two days ago. That call back would still be nice. C'mon Tony's. Do better, please. read more

Came here for my boyfriends birthday and it was amazing. Took a second for someone to come up front to seat us but was totally worth it. My Airbnb host recommended this place. The decor is really beautiful and the ambiance amazing. The food was probably the best Greek food we've had. The lamb was incredibly tender. Our server Jordan has very speedy and accurate. I was in Three Rivers last September and saw Tony's Taverna under construction. I was disappointed it wasn't opened to try yet since it looked like it was going to be a fun restaurant. Thankfully I got to return this May and I was so excited to get to try Tony's Taverna. My expectations were exceeded! The ambiance was great. We were seated on the terrace and they had a live musician and the volume wasn't intrusive. The servers were friendly and efficient. Our table shared the halloumi appetizer - and it was amazing! My travel companions and I decided to try this new Greek restaurant on the last day of our stay. After some awful food at other restaurants in town, we saw this had good Yelp reviews and it was recommended by the guy at the local market. We stopped in for lunch, and right away the place looks beautiful. They really spent some money renovating, decorating, and the tables and chairs are high quality and comfortable. We had burgers and a gyro wrap. All were delicious! We decided this is where we should have dinner too, with a much more expansive menu. We returned for dinner, and on a Monday off-season they managed to pull in a good crowd. People really like this spot. Ok the food was absolutely amazing!! Wow!!! We couldn't believe this restaurant is in Three Rivers. This could rival any restaurant we've been to in San Diego, and there's a lot of great restaurants back home. Two of us got the lamb shank and one got the pork chop. My companion said the chop was amazing, and sides equally as good. The lamb shank though, OMG! So flavorful, tender, just one of the best I've ever had. Our server explain that it cooks overnight. They put a lot of love in their food and it shows. The sides were outstanding as well. Everything was just perfect. And dessert didn't disappoint, just amazing. Our server, Alejandro, was super friendly, attentive, and added to the wonderful experience. We enjoyed talking with him, getting the back story on the restaurant, and learning more about the area. He has nothing but praise for the chefs and owner. What a nice guy! 5 stars for service!! So i really needed to hug a tree. K and I drove the nearly four miles so I could get in to the sequoia forest and hug a GD tree. Everything in LA felt fake and made up of "supposed to's". I just needed to hear Ranger Grant in the forest talk about standing at the foot of Denali and saying to himself he was going to be a ranger some day . And there he was so intentional, so real, so connected to the General Sherman- the largest tree in the world. K and I hugged a bunch of mature sequoias - something I used to laugh at - but I felt or I imagined or I imagined I felt the network below me - the roots below doing something grander than anything that could happen above. Afterwards we came to Tony's Taverna where our waiter Michael gave us the five star treatment. The salmon was perfectly cooked - moist and flakey. The Greek salad - tangy and delicious . There were definitely tree huggers here but also people who just wanted a perfect Greek meal on a nice patio. read more

She took our orders and shortly thereafter gave us the roasted eggplant app we ordered. But it was awful. When the waitress finally showed back up, only to bring our entrees, we told her..classic mistake-she disagreed with us saying the app was fine. And then she left it at our table even though we never touched it again as some kind of punishment for complaining..and then she never showed up again until it was time to deliver the bill.. I would have had another drink, but she was a no show..I would have asked for some cheese for my bolognese but she had already gone on vacation. And the food, my wife had the beef souvlaki and I had the bolognese, was mediocre at best. And their prices! I live in LA and their prices for entrees were INSANE. No way I'd return read more

This place is so good! Very large, great for big or small groups. We went for dinner one day and lunch the next and it was busy both times. I forgot pictures of the food but it is absolutely delicious! The branzino is fantastic some of the best I've ever had . We had most of the appetizers they were fantastic. We got the hummus to go day before to bring it into the park and that was a great idea. They have a great beer selection, wonderful atmosphere, and great staff. All and all a wonderful place to eat if you are coming from the parks or staying in town. Highly recommended the branzino for dinner and any appetizer. read more

I'm from the Temecula area and I recently went up to the Sequoias for Thanksgiving weekend. Found this amazing spot that just opened about a month and a half ago. I went here both nights that I was there because it was just that good! It's a multi-generational owned family business. The owners are very friendly and also happily social (one of the owners is also the chef). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent too. Everything was of the highest standards. On the 2nd night there was live music. A lot of the people at the restaurant joined in with singing and gave song requests to the pianist. There were very minor inconveniences due to how busy they were (very understandable) but the waiters were superb about handling it all. There was no issues at all and everyone was having a great time. The wait is long (over an hour) if you don't have a reservation, so call ahead of time. If you happen to not have a reservation you can leave and come back (if you're staying close by). Next time I go back to the Sequoia's, I'm definitely going to this Tonys again. read more

Boyfriend and I had a reservation for 6:45 the night before Valentines. We got there a few minutes after that time and were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. We were seated on the patio. The ambience is good I found the lights a bit too bright for my taste but nothing major. It took a while to get our orders taken maybe like 15-20 minutes of servers walking by and no one acknowledging us. But once we got our server a very lovely lady she was very attentive and explained they were busier than expected and short staffed and got our orders in pretty quickly. We got the mediterranean calamari to start with and it was very fresh and had a good taste to it. The bread was excellent. I got the branzino and boyfriend got the pastisio and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meals the branzino was huge and had great flavor to it and the pastisio was hearty & comforting. We had our entire staff out for dinner at Tony's Taverna--20 people--and it was truly fantastic from start to finish. Naomi took wonderful care of our group, and the whole team was attentive, responsive, and gracious throughout the evening. With a group this large, even great restaurants can sometimes struggle to keep everything moving smoothly, but everything was beautifully coordinated: appetizers, wonderful wine, warm and delicious entrées, and dessert all arrived with great timing. Ever since I've lived in Three Rivers, Sierra Subs has reigned undisputed as the king of Three Rivers Restaurants. Well now there can be some dispute, because while Sierra Subs is still spectacular, Tony's is AWESOME! There are a million little decisions that go into running any business, and Tony's feels like they got every single one of them right. The service was quick and friendly, the ambiance was great, and the food...let me give you the rundown on what my wife and I ate: Sky High Sierra Burger- AWESOME Onion Rings- AWESOME Avgolemono Soup- AWESOME Baklava- AWESOME Ice Tea- AWESOME Pilsner Beer on tap- Pretty good. But I'm sure they have an awesome option somewhere in the bar. I plan on going back to find it. Even the ketchup for the onion rings was the best ketchup I've ever had. Like i said, it feels like they've made every single decision right. So there is now more than one great restaurant in tiny little Three Rivers.
