Ahh- I hate to give this place 3 stars because honestly I think it has a lot of potential but it's just not there for me. I've been here a handful of times abs every-time the Coffee is just a solid ok. This last time I was there and got the bagel sandwich- I wanted 20 mins for the sandwich and then went up and I think they forgot it cause it came out about 5 mins later. Sandwich was good but the bagel seemed like it was microwaved ( the bagel bread was gummy). I really wanted to love this place. A local coffee shop right by my house!! Yes! After going quite a few times since it opened we won't be back. As mentioned in other reviews it is expensive and that only works if you are consistently good. I could get a great drink one day and the next it will be awful. The last time we went was the last straw. We were the only car in the drive through and it took 20 minutes for them to make 2 simple drinks. We get the drinks and they are wrong . No apology and when we asked for the correct drinks we were treated as if we were the issue. No thank you. I want my local coffee shop to treat me with better care than that. read more

Upon entering top cup we where immediately impressed with the spacious luxury meets modernity ambience. Masks are required, there is pretty much any style of seating you can think of couch, cozy big chairs, firmer more serious meeting vibe chairs & even the cutest outside seating. They offer a pretty wide range menu from gluten free to energy drinks to tea and of course espresso/coffee. At the front of the store they have a neat, sleek little shopping opportunity & there's nothing I love more than a good shopping thrill except maybe, coffee. They sell really cute bracelets, tumblers, tea pots & of course coffee. We ordered at the register and waited less then ten minutes for everything. We got an affogato, nitro vanilla cold brew, grilled cheese, 12 macaroons and a PBC iced latte. The affogato; visually, was the most delicately pleasing caffeinated beverage I have ever seen. Before tasting the velvety silk in a cup I devoured two macaroons one pistachio & one raspberry, Traditionally macaroons are served at room temperature to get the full essence of flavor however, I prefer my macaroons not so traditional and like them a little cooler..although I wasn't going to let atmospheric macaroon climate detour me from ordering 10 more of the chic, delicate little rounds. After letting the piquant gelato melt into a creamy coffee infused dessert beverage (it is served with a spoon) I first took a bite of the ice cream and made sure to get some espresso saucy saucy on the spoon. Delicious. No seriously I'm currently writing this review while convincing my husband that a nice drive to Gilbert feels right today..just to get this again. The one shot of espresso is probably just right for everyone, but with two kids one who just learned to scream and one who just learned to say ew gross to everything; including but not limited to anything I try to feed her, I added two shots to my affogato and it was perfection. We also ordered a PBC puff iced latte and a nitro vanilla cold brew. The PBC puff (peanut butter crunch) is not what you think, my first sip of the cereal we all know and love was peculiar, the layers of flavor was a delicious mystery to my taste buds. Could it be? The cereal that caused slammed doors and sibling rivalry if someone ate the last bowl, the cereal that feels a little naughty to eat so early in the morning, could it be..that they have just turned it into a caffeinated, nostalgic beverage? Is it getting hot in here? Beads of sweat are forming on my forehead while reminiscing on the delicious days of yesterday's. We also ordered a cheese panini for my one year old she licked it and threw it on the floor so none of us could taste it. She is wreckless and does things like wastes cheese, so who cares about her opinion. Moving on the nitro cold brew was pretty good my mom loved it and said "wow it's so smooth" & then asked my dad if they could buy nitrogen tap it was definitely a hit with her. Top Cup has quickly become my favorite coffee shop. They check all my boxes: energy drinks, white coffee, and freshly made breakfast. For their energy drinks they have a wide variety of syrup flavors to choose from. Their white coffee is amazing and because it's more difficult to brew, not many coffee shops offer it. I'm sitting at another cafe writing this review because the experience has really highlighted the best points of Top Cup for me. I only recently discovered this place but here's what I like about it: 1. As a student, my biggest appreciation is the number of outlets they have. Outlets at the counter seats, the couches, the big round table, and the smaller tables. Amazing. I'm writing this at 20% battery because this unnamed cafe I am at has virtually no outlets. 2. The aesthetic. If I'm going to hate every second of studying, I might as well hate it sitting in a cute vibey place. 3. The food and drinks are good. 4. The people are nice. 5. The bathrooms are clean. I wish I had a cafe like this where I go to school but unfortunately, I can only take advantage of this place when I'm home for breaks. One thing to note is that it does get a little more busy around the early afternoon when the high school across the street lets out, but not that big of a problem since I wear ANC headphones anyways. I love the modern rustic aesthetic they've got going on with lots of open space, and they've got a variety of amazing coffee selections to choose from that includes some specialty items including snickerdoodle and German chocolate cake. I was very excited to see another cafe open up in this area, and Top Cup will definitely be one of my new study spots. Interior is clean and spacious, and suitable for studying, hanging out, or even meetings! There are plenty of tables and seating areas, both indoor and outdoor, as well as outlets inside. I tried the Mediterranean chicken panini which was simple and filling, but I couldn't make any modifications (ex. No cheese) to ingredients since they're pre-made. I also tried the hazel hero which was still too sweet for my taste even though I asked for half sweet. I also tried the gingerbread mocha which was also really sweet. We have tried this place multiple times and the first 2 visits were a good experience, but not anymore. We always want to support "Local businesses" because we want to see the community thrive, but not at the expense of quality. The last 4 times we've visited they have gotten order orders wrong after multiple times repeating it back to them through the intercom and face to face. If the owner did a secret shopper to this place they would see their business is being destroyed by young women too busy to actually listen to the customers orders and provide a quality experience. At least they shove the tablet for payment in your face with the "Tip is optional" saying so you feel that regardless of the service you should tip them. For clarification, our last visit (which truly was our LAST visit there) they didn't get the double dirty chai correct, they thought it was cold, they forgot the extra espresso we paid for and it tasted awful, probably because we had the audacity to request that they actual correct the order. After we pulled away it was clear they messed up the restated and remade order. At least my salted caramel latte was correct, but we're done wasting time, money and tastebuds on a place that could care less about quality. Sadly, the Starbucks that appears to be opening up right by this place will again push a local vendor out, but if "Bottom Cup" provided what the customer paid for, it wouldn't be an issue. I guess we should have figured things were not going well there since 1/4 of there menu was covered over and not available. Prices are comparable or slightly better than Starbucks. Food selection was limited at 8am but reasonable for morning. Went through drive thru for a London Fog on my way to run errands. Ordered the medium and asked for it latte style (they said they make it that way all the time but I always ask because every place makes it different). It was nice and hot and tasted great. It was just a little sweet for my taste so I will ask for light syrup next time. Great service and not too long of a wait! So glad this place is so close to our house. It's nice to have a neighborhood coffee shop only a few miles away! My friend and I run to Top Cup in the morning and Jackie always knows our order and asks how our run was. The staff is always friendly and genuine which is always nice, especially when you haven't had your morning coffee yet! The coffee is really good (and I'm a coffee snob) and the menu offers lots of options for coffee and non-coffee drinkers.
