We love Top Pot Doughnuts and visit when we're in Seattle. There's a vast selection (more than 40 daily) and the staff is always patient while we try to decide what to have. I like that they usually have more than one type of cinnamon donut (my favorite). What kind of donuts do they have? Fritters, raised, crullers, long johns, monthly specials. We visited on the first of June, so I got to try one of the June specials, the raspberry lemonade cruller--yum! And, they have coffees to go with your donuts. The line, if there is one, goes quickly. Take your selections upstairs like we do and enjoy your treats with a view of the street and patrons entering and exiting. We'll be back for more on our next trip to the Emerald City.

Lovely space with plenty of seats. Tried the cinnamon sugar raised donut and the lemon glazed old fashioned. The raised donut was on the dense side and very tasty. The lemon old fashioned was also good. I would love to visit here again.

Solid donuts in Seattle. Friendly staff and lots of different options. Lemon glazed old fashioned was perfect. Raised donut was nice and fluffy. Will come again

I have been waiting to come back to Top Pot doughnuts since 2018. I can confirm it didn't disappoint! We had a banana foster fritter that was so flavorful and filling and a chocolate bar. My favorite thing about this location are the glass windows and all the books. It's such a calming place to start your morning before a full day out. Staff had great coffee recs and I can't wait to come back again!

I Was staying at a hotel nearby and this place had good reviews so we came one morning for coffee and donuts. I did a glaze donut and a maple bar, With two caramel macchiato's. Great selection of donuts, friendly service. (they had a cute peep donut option for the spring/Easter. ) The macchiato was not bad, but I didn't really taste the caramel.

Great huge doughnuts. Loved every bite. The mood is quiet coffee shop vibes with books lining the walls. Would definitely come by again. Service was fast and friendly.

I've been a fan of Top Pot for years. I haven't been here for more than 5 years though since I stopped working downtown. I had a Sugared Raspberry Donut. It's so light. I love how the raspberry jam counters the sweetness of the donut. It's very light. It's perfect with a hot cup of coffee. Love this cafe on 5th Avenue. It's very airy, with a nice loft. Love the look of the floor to ceiling shelves filled with books. Music is nice, not too loud. Service is friendly.

Got a doughnut and an iced golden latte after work since I was craving a sweet treat. 10/10. Love the inside. Service was good- one person stepped out to take care of somethng else so took about 10 minutes and there were only 2 people in front of me. Regardless, I'd come again. The only thing was there was a person outside asking for money but he seemed pretty friendly when I said not at this time, but he was sitting right next to the door pretty close. Ambiance- many people inside working and having conversations

Was in town to go on our cruise. Went in for a couple of donuts and ended up with a dozen. Everything we got was great. Bavarian cream, apple fritter, raspberry jelly and so on. The staff was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We will come back again if we are ever in town.

Ok so after my second time at this shop I can say I feel better about my options. The store had more donuts so we were able to try more than just donut holes. I got a chocolate cake and also an old fashioned. The old fashioned was so by far one of the best in a long time, how ever the cake donut was so dry we couldn't eat it. So I guess it all depends on the donut? We got a latte and a frozen coffee the latte was good and the frozen was eh. It wasn't very strong. Since this was the second time giving them I chance I wouldn't go back a third.

I was sold as soon as I saw the stock photo of their pot holes, which are basically an assortment of mini donut holes! I love me a variety but can never finish too many donuts at once, so the pot holes are perfect. We did come closer to their closing time, so we were actually scared that they were going to be out of them, but thankfully they were not. That said, they weren't as fresh as they could be, but they were still delicious. We also got their Vietnamese style cold brew, which wasn't too shabby. The 2-story floor to ceiling book wall is stunning and gave me nostalgic memories of my college library. There were plenty of tables upstairs with outlets.

Visiting Seattle I stopped by here for some morning coffee and donuts. The service was fast and good. The spot has an upstairs and downstairs area, full seating. I would recommend this place when in the area.

How many donuts did I eat this weekend? Umm....I plead the fifth? =P Top Pot is one of Seattle's OG donut institutions, I recall picking up donuts at this exact location many years ago when visiting. Back then, my friend had raved about their donuts and when I walked by this weekend having just gotten Oh Mochi donuts the day before, my eyes were of course larger than my stomach, so I couldn't say no. This store is spacious for a donut shop and cafe, high ceilings, lots of seating - maybe enough for two dozen people between first and mezzanine floors. Classic-American-diner-meets-cozy-study vibe, the full length two story windows let in plenty of sunlight, wooden bookcases extend almost the ceiling, stretching out the height of the room even more. Donuts: they have such a variety! I counted around 25 different kinds shown in their enticing glass donut display. I went with a chocolate glazed raised (yeast style) and a plain old fashioned, because the latter to me is a signifier of a quality donut shop--can't go wrong if they get the basics right. Found the plain old fashioned $3.10 to be a touch softer on the exterior than I would'd prefer, though not bad, I'm used to a little more crisp and slight browner color. The chocolate glazed raised $3.60 (yeast donut) was perfect, they found the golden frosting to donut ratio! The donut was pillowy and reminded me of fresh yeast donuts from Doughnut Plant and Dough Donuts in NYC, really huge too. You really can't beat their prices for fresh donuts, they've managed to keep it affordable for $18.95/half dozen, $30.95/dozen. I will say their donuts lean towards the sweeter side, many are glazed all-over. I asked the staff which ones were the least sweet and the plain old fashioned topped the list. They've grown over the years to become a popular local chain for a reason, with several locations in the greater Seattle metro area. Street, lot or structure parking is available nearby. Public transportation via bus or downtown monorail is available. Walking distance to many downtown Seattle attractions. Would recommend if you're in the area!

    Any gf doughnuts?

their website says their donuts contain gluten. I have not seen a gluten free option at Top Pot.

    Any vegan options here?

Sadly seems not at least in terms of doughnuts. Of course you could get a latte with non dairy milk but avoid the mocha due to the dairy in its mix

How much is a maple bar?

Don't recall. Maybe 2.50. But whatever it is...was worth it!

What donut should I get the next time I go to Top Pot in Seattle? I ask this because I am searching for the best donuts in America.

The flavors change often, they have standard glaze, and cake donuts. I had a sugar raised berry flavored donut, I forgot the name as it was a 'themed' option. All I recall was it was too sweet and not memorable.

Spoiler: Absolutely no regrets, I wish I had visited earlier! I ordered a six pack with a variety of their donuts and shared them with four friends, having a bit of each. I'm glad we did it this way because I don't think I could have finished some of these donuts solo. I also had a seasonal rose latte at half sweetness which was decent, but very wholesomely came with a little donut hole that was pretty good. I will say, they nailed all the flavors. If you like the flavor, probably a 4/5 donut overall. They just weren't always my cup of tea. So the scores here are for personal enjoyment more than anything - like I said, they're solid donuts. Sour Watermelon (2/5): Holy smokes, this one felt like it was punching your taste buds. It's almost confusing on how this is in a donut form. It's more like a sour patch kid. It's intense. I don't think I could solo one. Mango Tajin (3/5): Similar to the sour Watermelon, it's perplexing how this is a donut. It was a bit spicy and tangy, just as the flavor implied. Cookies & Cream (3.5/5): Get ready to get messy. It's crumbly. It's sweet. It's more like a normal donut. Matcha Strawberry (4.5/5): My favorite of the weird flavors of donuts. They really aced the matcha flavor and it's well balanced for a donut. Blueberry Fritter (2.5/5): This was pretty hyped up, but honestly I felt like the blueberry flavor was overpowered just by the sheer amount of sugar. Texture was good, it just felt so sweet. Overall, I'd definitely recommend for a fun experience. Share some different flavors! Paid via inKind with no issues.

We decided to drop by after eating lunch in the area for a sweet treat afterwards, then ended up picking up a whole dozen... Some notes for a couple that I tried: Maple Bar ($4.99) - Hmm.. Not that fluffy or light. Instead or being airy, it's more dense and has a kind of springy chew. The glaze is sweet and gives off a heavy maple fragrance, an indication they use real maple syrup in the glaze. Maple bars from other places are usually disgustingly sweet with basically no maple flavor - this one is sweet but more well balanced. I think the texture is definitely different from a typical yeast donut. I wonder if it's just because it more difficult to make vegan yeast donuts vs cake donuts? It's a different type of yeast donut, but still very good. (4/5) Chocolate Peanut Butter ($4.45) - Good peanut butter flavor in both the topping and glaze. I think the donut base is also peanut butter but it could be contamination from the glaze. The base isn't very sweet and is kind of almost savory in flavor. The donut is dense but not crumbly and instead very moist. Not really crusty, so not too much textural difference. I think it's baked rather than fried. Still very sweet. (4/5) Devils Playground ($4.45) - The donut base is dense with rich chocolate flavor, and coated with a chocolate ganache of just the right thickness. I hate it when donuts just have a smear of topping to make the donut look attractive, but does barely anything flavor wise. This one, on the other hand, is richly flavored. (4/5) Chocolate Raspberry ($3.65) - This is my favorite, same chocolate cake donut base as above but with bright berry notes and specks of seeds. The tangy berries do wonders to temper down some of the sweetness. (5/5) French Toast ($3.65) - My least favorite by far. Covered with peanuts (which is fine), but the cake donut base or perhaps the glaze tastes heavily earthy, like an overload of cinnamon and nutmeg. (2/5) People who expect the exact same texture as a non-vegan donut, both the cake and yeast types, will probably be disappointed. If I just think of these donuts as their own thing, they're actually quite good. There's another donut shop that I prefer down the street, but Mighty-O Donuts certainly isn't a bad choice for a sweet treat.

But I have only worked here three days." Please, for the sake of other patrons, get your sh*t together. Your " staff" appears ambivalent, tired, and although on their phones, not wanting to be there. Staff may have been your saving grace, but no. Not no, hell no. Get it together Cupcake Royale- do you, or don't you cater to the people who have kept you afloat? I purchased cupcakes a couple of times anyway, just to support your business as I always have, and to pass into others, hoping to keep you in business. Tough times for so many. At 6:50 pm, I bought full priced crunchy , sitting there all day cup cakes, full price. Had I known they would be bird food, I would not have. Yes. I tossed them to the birds. Expensive treat. You have taken my money, and given me an inferior product once again. Should have known from before. My bad. I don't know why I expected it to be any different from last experience. I guess it was my utmost faith in you, and your product. The thing was, at almost closing there were over 20 cupcakes. No more. You lost me. You lost my business. Sad. Trophy, here I come!
