I enjoyed the easy games Topgolf offered. My son's first time there was a pleasant one and he is a die hard Sonic fan. Luckily there so happen to be a Sonic game that was easy to figure out and dominant in. He and I had a blast. We were placed on the 2nd level deck where we received speedy and friendly service from our server. The background music was good and kept up with the current songs playing on the radio or in clubs. The food and appetizers were delicious. My son order a basket of fires and a pizza flatbread. I ordered the wings and ice cream. It was hard to find a waitstaff if you needed to order drinks later on so just order right in the beginning. We had a good time here on a weeknight. We made reservations a few days in advance and had our bay right at our reservation time. Everything for the game is set up on the screen in your bay- and we requested kids golf clubs once we got there. Food and drinks are ordered through their staff. Our waitress checked in and was attentive. We ordered a few drinks and appetizers to have during our two hours of gameplay. The music is loud and it's a really fun atmosphere. You can select different games and all skill levels can play. Food is ok - hit or miss. I would do the flat bread and wings, but hard pass on the nachos next time (super dry and no flavor). Hello, today was my first time trying Top Golf and it was fun! We went on a Monday evening, and they have 1/2 price days mon - Thursday and it's a great deal. We played for 2 hours and felt comfortable with the staff. They were courteous and friendly. Our waiter was Carlos. He was attentive and polite. We ordered the nachos with steak which came hot and displayed perfectly with guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream. The nachos are for 1 or 2 people. We also ordered the pretzel platter it came with 2 dips. We enjoyed our time and will return for the deal again. Can't beat the price for a fun evening out with your partner or friends. First time at topgolf. I was prepared for the worst because of all the reviews about service being slow, fortunately it wasn't that bad tonight. I had all my food orders ready and it came at a decent time. Forgot my server's name but he was very attentive in the beginning. Idk how many other tables he was serving but towards the middle i wanted to order a drink and asked a different server for it, it never came. I asked again once our original server came back. I wish there was a way to call the server when we want to order something. I mean we could probably go to the bar, but what's the point of having a server then. Food: Avoid the flatbread pizza!!!! It's actually so bad. The frozen pizza at the grocery store tastes better. Seconding all the other reviewers talking about the fried mac and cheese balls! The marinara sauce mix was the best. Had a work event in the afternoon. Luckily, we came at a slow time, so parking was readily available. We arrived on time but started late. Check in was a bit organized, with other people clustered in the front trying to get situated. Overall, group had a decent time. Food was ok. Drinks were a bit limited with a paper ticket system. This was my first time ever coming to a TopGolf. The outside looked really big but it l seemed kind of small inside. When I first walked in, I couldn't help but notice the massive big screen TV at the bar. I was impressed with how clean and neat the place was from top to bottom. My friend got a summer fun pass so we were able to get 2 hours of unlimited golf. Besides some light tapping for mini golf, I had never taken a big swing with a golf club before. Thankfully, they had The Sure Thing club for beginners like me. I had no idea what I was doing and hitting the ball all over the place which made the Angry Birds game a lot of fun. I tried using the other clubs but I felt like an idiot missing most of my swings. Anthony was our bay host and he was great. We didn't really need anything except a couple of food and drink orders. My favorite was the chicken wings trio. I got the lemon pepper, Asian sesame and garlic parmesan flavors. I thought all the wings were nicely seasoned and tasted good. I really liked the sweetness of the Asian sesame wings. Other than golf, TopGolf seemed like a good place to just relax, watch a game and order some good food and drinks. I could see why some people didn't mind being on the waitlist for a bay to open up or didn't want to leave. The Golfing experience is really great and fun!! Only issue we had were a few points that didn't register. I really hope this business takes my feedback as something to build on, I don't want to bash the place because disappointing experience. I booked a bay for my wife's birthday, the booking reservation was easy! I even had an issue, I called the customer service line and Mary was great. We arrived and walked to our bay. When we placed our orders for food and drinks I asked if they did birthday cakes, the waitress said yes and told me she would take care of it. The food came at a reasonable time. I noticed my wings were missing. I had to let the waitress know, sounds like they had forgotten. At about 1 hour in, I asked again about my wife's birthday cake thing, waitress said not to worry that she didn't forget. My wong's arrived with no sauce. Miscommunication no big deal they got me some side sauce. So now where are in 1h 30 min still no birthday cake celebration. The manger and waitress let me know they couldn't find the sign. Still no big deal. They tell me " we will still come by and bring donut holes." 15 min before we had to leave, nothing had came, I gave up hope. Sure enough nothing ever did come. No cake, no donut holes absolutely nothing. I had asked 3 separate times about the birthday stuff and at the end nothing ever came. Not even an apology. The customer service is just really bad. A friend that came even said "yea I like this place but unfortunately when you come you just have to expect bad service" apparently it's a known thing... I know it's not their problem to deal with a birthday but when I asked 3 separate times about and I'm reassured it's going to happen it's hard to not feel annoyed about it. I was very shocked and disappointed to see that if you book 2 bays you have to may an ADDITIONAL $35 to guarantee the bays will be next to each other! Thats like making a reservation at a restaurant and them charging you to guarantee you'll all be at one table and not two 4 tops across the restaurant from each other! Of course if you are booking 2 bays you expect them to be next to each other. Maybe we'll just choose another family activity. If you're trying to hold conversations in their event spaces, be aware that the noise insulation is terrible and you'll have trouble hearing the people in the room with you. The golfing was beginner friendly, and I enjoyed that there were various game options that you could choose to play. While it took a while for us to get started due to the staff being busy, we were able to play 2 games during our time there. The food was also surprisingly a hit. While I'd personally skip the flatbreads, the Wings Trio, Cheesy Macaroni Bites, and Harvest Hummus were the perfect golfing snacks. Two employees had nothing but attitude, ignored our table, scoff, rolled their eyes, hiding and just chit chatting, and literally threw a box at us and told us to box our own food. When I asked to speak to a manager, the guy who was clearly a manager covered his name tag and claimed he didn't know where the manager was, even though later on I saw his name tag and sure enough he was the manager. As an activity, Topgolf is unique and definitely a fun experience for both the non-serious golfer and the one looking to practice a little more accuracy. My team really wanted an offsite here so we made it happen! Reservations were very easy as long as your group is less than 12 (including rotations in, you can get up to 16 people in 2 bays). On the day of the offsite, most of our cars were unfortunately stuck in an unexpected 3 car accident on 101S. Topgolf not only called to inform us that if one car didn't arrive within 15 minutes of the reservation they would cancel our bays but they also didn't even bother to consider the reasoning which was pretty heartless in my opinion. Luckily my car did arrive within the first 15 minute window....upon arriving I thought we would check in and that would start our 2 hours. Nope. We were politely informed that our time had started at 11am and that we essentially were wasting time talking. Omg. As the rest of my team arrived, we finally got to start enjoying the game though we had to golf that much faster since we were SOL for the first 30 minutes. When it came to service for food and drink we were not approached by any server except for the very very beginning when we requested a round of waters. Given that it was a Tuesday early afternoon, I was just really put off by the sheer lack of service. It's certainly a point of consideration for any future games. read more

Been wanting to try them out for a long time. An AMEX promo helped us take the plunge. They have multiple locations, but for the SF/Bay, San Jose is gonna be the only spot. We made the commitment to travel south and glad we did. It was definitely an impressive setup. Plenty of feee parking for the massive tri-level driving range. It's a state of the art driving range meets trendy bowling alley. I don't want to confuse anyone. It's just golf. There is NO bowling alley, just the vibe of one. Basically, you have to book a "bay." A bay fits up to 6 people. Just as you would be at a bowling alley with your group. You can order drinks and bar food. The burgers and tater tots were a hit. We also tried the injection donuts. They were tasty but way too messy. Wet wipes would be nice. Especially if it's your turn to hit the ball next. Since none of us were golfers, we took private lessons w Claude. He was great! My kids had a lot of fun and want to come back. Claude was a great instructor and answered all our questions. No pressure on the kids and allowed them to just play and have fun. I'm sure if you needed more specialized instruction, he would have been able to, but we were seriously just starting. It was an expensive experience for a family new to golf, but Claude's customer service bumped up my 3 stars to four. Apparently, they have youth classes in the spring/summer. It was busy, so the service was slow. We had two bay costing $440 for two hours plus $250 min for food ordering requirement. We end up spending $800 plus. Like I said, you got to have the mind set to spend, spend, spend and you will have a great time. If your too cheap, go to miniature golf instead. I got lucky tonight, didn't have to pay. Overall, I had good time but if I had to pay, I probably play miniature golf instead cause I'm too cheap to pay for over price drinks and food that was just average. I had never been to a driving range, so this review is for someone like me who didn't know what to expect and has only played video game golf. The only clubs in my hands prior being playing cards, sandwiches, or the occasional caveman Cheeto. I showed up, knowing only that my group of friends were in Bay 233, and I found it easily enough. At one on a weekday, the place was not crowded so the extra wide staircases made it feel like I was Jack entering the Titanic or Cinderella entering the ball. Let's split the difference: I felt like Jack's ball. The bays are similar to bowling, so if you have a party next to you, it might seem tight. On the flip side, with no party next to us it felt more open. The L-shaped comfortable couches and huge table makes the sitting arrangement is more conducive to hanging out than a bowling alley, though I sometimes felt we were playing musical chairs. The person in charge usually micromanages things, and 2/3 of the party were experienced golfers, yet nobody bothered to give me instructions on the electronic system or how to swing a club, so that part was a little maddening and intimidating. Unlike bowling, you have to press your name on the screen, which I neglected to do over half the time because I wasn't aware it was necessary for a while, and once I did know, I still forgot because I was distracted or confused or wondering if I was going to repeatedly miss the ball (there's only so many times you can say "that was a good practice swing" or dribble the ball over the side. The "glaucoma medicine" and pitcher of beer likely didn't help. Maybe it was more like Cinderella's ball because I almost came back with one shoe. It works both ways. The only golfer there worse than me often golfed under my name, which explains how I came back from the bathroom to find I had a negative score. The point to this is that I mistakenly golfed under someone else's name, which messed with their score. There's no real protection against that. Maybe your name should be displayed bigger, or the club release requires your thumbprint, or the bay knows your recorded weight, or you have to provide a semen sample into the ball release hole to identify yourself. It's a small hole but life finds a way. As far as the golfing experience, I recommended (via the satisfaction survey) that they provide something for newbies, which are easy to detect since they will be registering as a new customer ($5 membership fee). There should be a golfing video game in the corner or an attendant or a video or something. [First address the ball.... hello, ball]. I had no idea what to do. I was too big and old to have someone wrap their arms around me to show me how. Finally a friend told me to back away from the ball, probably to keep from getting the ball wet with my tears. Later I was told to bend my knees but not my arms, which made things awkward. Do I keep bending my arms which was eventually effective and fun, or do I force myself to be super self-aware by awkwardly swinging without bending my arms? I don't know, which is why I'd be more likely to return for the socialization aspect, not the game play. By the way, I must point out that my friends wanted me to give them four stars because they said the wait time, attentiveness, and accuracy of our waiter was poor. Instead, I am just mentioning this. Maybe they were understaffed, maybe the guy was busy moisturizing his lush head of hair, I don't know, but I think since the place has a stadium feel, there should be at least a beer vendor on the same floor. PS. Fellow Yelpers, stop complaining about being booted off of your bay at the end of your reserved time. You entitled little participation trophy winners are not an exception to the rules you choose to ignore. If you want more time, reserve it. read more

The facility itself is great. Tons of bays and very spacious. We had a great time hitting some balls. The food though is below average. Your typical bar bites but the quality isn't great. We ordered the wings trio, nachos, macaroni bites, pretzel bites, and pulled pork sliders. The nachos are dry with barely any cheese covering the chips. The pulled pork sliders were super sweet. The Mac bites, pretzels, and wings were decent. So basically just come here for a good time and drinks, but not the food. The service here is nonexistent. They have so much staff walking around but it's never your server. And when you try to ask someone else, they act like they don't even work there or we are inconveniencing them. Our server never checked on us once or asked for refills or anything. Even bringing out waters should be an automatic thing. We're doing a physical activity. First we drove into a pretty full parking lot with lots of fancy cars. Lucky we found one open parking spot after a few try's on an early weekday. We had to wait a long while to get a spot to play golf (45 minutes +). As we ate at the restaurant, there is no server serving us. We had to go up to the bartender to place our food orders. Then it took a long time for the food to arrive to our table. We had to reminded them a few times tho. Once we finally got to our golfing spot. I booked for a group of people originally only 6 people were going to show up but we ended up having 11 show up we didnt know it was a problem for one bay. Ellis the manager came by doing a head count and told us we either had to book a second bay or 3 people had to leave and i told her oh only 6 are playing and she raised her voice at me and told me "ONLY 6 CAN GOLF AND ONLY 8 PER BAY" she repeated that 3 times cutting us off from talking. We eventually had 3 people leave. But her mannerism and way of handling the situation was extremely rude. Coming from customer service background this is not how you handle guest. Even the waiter said that she came up rude and couldve handled us a different way. The crazy part was the bay next to us had 9 people and the bay down the way had 10. If shes going to make her rounds and talk to people like this at least keep it equal, felt like she singled us out. Food was alright and drinks took forever. read more
