My daughter and I visited to jointly celebrate her birthday and Mother's Day. One of the reasons we celebrated each a bit late was to make sure we could make reservations at Topside. The views of Baltimore are beautiful. The staff is welcoming. Our server was thoughtful and made sure our evening had multiple special touches. The drinks, entrees, and dessert were memorably delicious. The chef is magical. Thank you Topside for a wonderful experience!

Overall, I would give it a 3.5! I've had Topside on my list for awhile now and glad I made it and I would have liked to have given it a higher rating, but perhaps when I return I will update my review then. Located in Mount Vernon on top of the Revival hotel, this rooftop restaurant offers amazing views of the city. Just take the elevator up to level R/Topside. Parking wasn't hard - I found a spot right across the street. They offer valet it seems but I would say just look for street parking. On a Monday it wasn't too busy so no reservation was needed but I would say on weekends it would be. They offer a burger and beer special for $18 on Mondays - seemed to be popular. I don't really drink beer so didn't go for that. Our server never told us her name. She disappeared for awhile and again, it was a Monday so not busy at all. My friend ordered a glass of wine and she completely forgot. He eventually got it after we had to remind her. I liked the "Suede" cocktail with mezcal. I did stop by the bar on my way out and thanked Shep (not sure the spelling) but he was very nice. The hostess was very friendly. Now onto the food. It's a very limited menu. I went with the lamb, which I enjoyed with the chimichurri, but pricey for the portions. My friend got the rock fish. We shared a bread plate which came with assorted breads and butter, but it was $14. I plan to visit again.

My husband and I had dinner at Topside last weekend before an opera at the Engineer's Club. Topside is a restaurant on the top level of Hotel Revival. It has stunning 360 views of Baltimore's Mount Vernon neighborhood (and further out into the city). People were talking up to the windows and taking pictures throughout the evening (especially at sunset). It's a really stunning place for dinner or just for drinks! We shared: the octopus (blistered shishito / black garlic aioli / peppadew oil); the tuna tataki (ponzu / pear brûlée / wasabi aioli / crispy quinoa); the blue catfish (sorghum glazed snakehead filet/duck braised collard greens/white cheddar grits/ duck crackling); and a panna cotta for dessert. All the food was good. The cocktails and were really good. And the service was really great, too - our server was lovely, friendly, and helpful. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Topside. I'd return for dinner, but I'd definitely return for drinks before a show or concert. A really lovely way to take in Baltimore (especially at sunset)!

This meal was the highlight of our Baltimore trip! We were staying in the Hotel Revival and didn't want to leave again to eat so we went up to Topside - and we were SO happy we did. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive and the view was amazing. But the highlight was the food! We ordered the lamb, tagliatelle, and the bread basket along with some drinks. Everything was 10/10 - we are still talking about it days later! So delicious and filling. If I am ever in Baltimore again, even if I don't stay at this hotel, I will make sure to head to this restaurant again.

I went to Topside on a Saturday night with two friends, and even without a reservation, we were seated immediately--major points for that. The ambiance is modern and elevated, and the view overlooking Mount Vernon is absolutely gorgeous. It honestly makes you feel like you've been transported to another city. I had the short rib dish, which was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor--definitely a standout. Plentiful paid street parking nearby made it easy to access, which is always a plus in Baltimore. The only downside? Portion sizes are pretty small, especially for the price point. This isn't the kind of place I'd go if I were starving, but it is a great spot if you're looking to enjoy good food, a beautiful setting, and a chic vibe. Highly recommend for a night out or a date spot.

The ambiance and atmosphere is always in point here. The views are breathtaking, especially at sunset. Our server was one of the nicest people, very kind and positive. The manager let us into the garden room to take some photos and all the staff were very professional and friendly. The food was great. We shared a handful of dishes (octopus, short rib, duck breast, lion's mane mushroom) and tried a couple of the mock tails. The short rib and duck were a bit in the dry side but were still very flavorful and delicious. To my surprise the lion's mane mushroom dish was by far the best of them all. Absolutely amazing! You have to try it.

I stayed at Hotel Revive and this restaurant was located on the rooftop. The view is beautiful and the vibe is great. The menu not so much. I wasn't really hungry but wanted drinks and the menu is very limited. They need more small bites. The appetizers were not appetizing. I definitely would t go back because the menu just didn't hit. But I'm giving them a four star because the service was amazing. I ordered a side of collard greens, cornbread and fries.

Wow. What a PLACE. What a LOCATION. What amazing FOOD. This was simply a phenomenal experience. I can't believe I've been here for 2 years and no one has talked about this? You have one of the best views of the stunning baltimore sky line. Coming here and seeing the sunset is just dreamy. The ambiance here is the most dreamy location I've been in a long time. It's cozy, it's upscale without being intimidating. And the food is WOW. We got the duck and rock fish and it was stupendous. The charcuterie was stunning. And I couldn't let that octopus sneak past me. When I tell you that octopus was one of the best things I have ever put in my mouth? I have been to MULTIPLE. Michelin star restaurants. And that octopus outshines. It was tender. It was supple. It was charred and delicious. Ugh. I want it again. I truly truly cannot recommend coming here enough. Come have a drink at the bar by yourself if you have to. Come witness this amazing location. You won't regret it.

A plot twist!! The crazy part is that I wasn't even excited to go to this place at first. I started the night out with a cocktail and I wasn't a huge fan. It was floral and it tasted like quality ingredients, but it just wasn't for me. Then we started ordering food. First was the bread board... Wow!! The bread! The butter!! I cannot rave enough about the butter!!! Wow! It went from strength to strength from there. And I'm telling you...that is the best burger I've had in my life. Those fries were the perfect amount of crispy and soft. The octopus was decent, but I wasn't obsessed. Regardless this is some very nice dining. The service was top-tier! And the food came out so quickly. The aesthetics were beautiful. I love when a place has quality food that lives up to their aesthetics!

Food, service, ambiance were all incredible! Can't wait to visit again. Such a lovely date night spot!

Very cute date night spot. They close at 11pm so keep that in mind. We came in at 10:30 and just got one drink. Beautiful ambiance and music, def will be back to try the food. I got the HollaDaiq girl and That Feel Old Fashioned and we will be back to try more drinks!!

Everything from the view, to the service, to the mocktails, to the cocktails to the food is amazing here! My girlfriend and I had the zero proof cocktails one night and another day, I had the perfect aperol spritz with a happy hour appetizer of hummus and muhammara. One evening I had the fish with coconut rice and my friend had the gumbo and we shared the octopus which was outstanding! The fish was prepared perfectly. Last I had brunch with my girlfriend on Sunday and she loved her coffee and had several refills. I had a grapefruit pomegranate mimosa along with the omelette of the day, which was one of the best omelettes of my life. It came with a little frissee salad, and that was amazing too! Also, we shared a house-made lemon blueberry scone, which was huge and tasty! My server many of the times I was there was a lovely server named Sue and she was fabulous! The bartender who made the excellent cocktails and cocktails I think was Christian. And Dwayne was their most elegant and charming staff! He knew the history of the area and since I had returned for my college reunion, he knew everything I was reminiscing about. Don't miss the sunset view either because it's just a gorgeous view of the city. I will be back.

Since it was New Year's eve, there were few patrons or maybe this is the usual scene? Don't know. But there are some comfy couches by the front in which a young couple with a baby was nursing. Another couple was just finishing up dinner and started to head out. We were the only two diners for about 20 minutes before another couple came in for dinner. There were also about two or three people at the bar. So basically a very quiet place. No one at the hostess stand, only a woman at the bar. She eventually sat us and took our order. Things were slow but not so slow that I would complain. I would surmise that most of the staff was off that evening. Food was also slow in coming so there might have been a small crew in the kitchen as well. We ordered the mezze appetizer. Nothing to rave about. It was just a plate with vegetables and hummus. We both got the wagyu burger and fries. The whole meal was quite decent. The meat was cooked to the correct temperature and the fries were crispy. It was quite filling for me. Maybe it was NYE but everything was quiet and nice.

It was a gorgeous day, the first Sunday in January, 2026. We arrived at 11:00 am, when they open, because we wanted to make sure to be ahead of the well documented Sunday brunch crowd. Yeiboh Kitchen does not take reservations (although they do reserve for special parties/events). Yeiboh Kitchen has an intimate outside patio dining area in front for that alfresco experience. When we entered, we were greeted warmly, and waited in comfy chairs for about 10 minutes in the cozy foyer complete with fireplace, before being seated. There was a mix of smooth R&B and mellow Hip Hop flowing on the PA system - and then the DJ set it up, and continued the vibe! The bar, open kitchen, and cheerful wait staff enhanced our anticipation of the food that was in store! We were not disappointed! I had the Jerk Honey Glazed Lollipop Lamb Chops AND Grits! It comes with 3 chops, cooked to your specification. (Medium for me) I was trying to scrape my plate for the last morsel of grits, and suck the Lamb bones, it was so good! The hubby ordered the Deep Fried Salmon and Grits, served with a savory Cajun cream sauce, scallion and tomatoes - and 2, fluffy scrambled eggs! He absolutely loved his meal! We also had the Deep Fried Biscuit Flight. Three biscuits - Salted Caramel Apple, Strawberry Cream, and Banana Pudding - perfectly fried in a way you would not even think they were fried, but for that ever-so light, crispy texture on the crust, and every bite - perfection! I cannot say which biscuit I enjoyed the most - I'll need to visit a few more times to make a determination! For beverages, we had coffee, and I ordered my (usual) mimosa. Our server, "Ms. Sunday," was extremely personable, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The Chef, Mr. Chris Davis, greeted us at our table during the meal, which was a wonderful, elegant touch! He explained about the fried biscuits (without giving away too much!)- and we complimented him on his culinary innovations in the kitchen! The Sunday brunch patrons began to arrive around noon, and by the time we left - close to 1:00pm, it was jumping! If you are in or near Baltimore, or plan to travel to the area soon, please put this restaurant on your list. Parking is at a premium, so if you can, arrive by Uber or Lyft. The experience will be well worth the trip!

After all, it'd been on our radar since Tom Sietsema's 2019 review in the Washington Post but, because it's located a long way from us, we hadn't made the effort. We're so glad we made the trip to Baltimore this past Thursday for what wound up being a magical evening. The staff was exceptional: Eliza and George greeted us warmly ("that's quite the hat!"). George led us to table #4...the perfect choice (thanks Eliza!) as I'd had my eye on that table thanks to web-based interior shots of Charleston. Jocelyn, our Server, was friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable when it came to the daily menu, the evening's specials, and the daunting wine list. It's no wonder Charleston was a 2025 James Beard Foundation award winner for its "Outstanding Wine & Other Beverages Program." Thanks to Jocelyn's Busser, Dionicio, our water glasses were never empty and we had a constant supply of muffins, sourdough, and the best cornbread ever! He was the master of unobtrusive service. Ah, but whatabout the food?! Perfection. Champagne followed by Chef's welcoming sippable soup set the stage for a mix-and-match tasting tour. Potato & Beer soup, Lettuce & Beet salad, and Grilled Tenderloin for me and Zucchini Beignets, Lettuce & Beet salad, and White Truffle Fettuccine for her. All simply confirmed that Chef Wolf and her kitchen staff are at the top of their game. We finished the evening with our complementary desserts (Almond Pound Cake, Cashew & Dark Chocolate Vegan Cheesecake) and coffee. Even the chocolate Macarons, a parting treat, were delicious. Finally, a word about the room. "Calming" comes to mind. Never hurried. Conversation was easy. Very much appreciated nowadays where, even in upper tier restaurants, it's a struggle to hear your tablemates. The major hiccup we experienced was my gluten free lamb shank pasta being sent to the vegetarian sitting at the table next to us. Watching this unfold and the server's exasperated reaction was very awkward. That being said, the manager (or maitre d?)'s graceful handling of the situation thereafter was great. He told us what happened, played it off well, explained that it would be a bit of a wait for our next course as a result, and ended up comping all our wine. Really classy touch. However, even after the long wait for the pasta, it was ultimately under-salted under-seasoned and not impressive at all. As much as I appreciate the gluten free option, I wish I had just gotten something else especially after all that trouble! The rest of the service throughout the night was also oddly paced. We ordered less courses than last year (only three) but we were there for almost four hours. Tables around us who arrived after us were served their first courses before we even had a chance to order. We were asked to pick out a wine first before choosing our food and since we weren't sure what we were eating, we weren't ready to select a wine. Even just getting the food menu took a bit of waiting around. Our server didn't inquire about any food allergies either so it was tough making decisions when I wasn't sure what was gluten free - and this was an allergy that was noted in our reservation, too. At another point, I asked for a glass of red wine three different times until finally the maitre d grabbed it for me after the pasta debacle happened. As for the rest of my meal, the scallops and lobster soup were both yummy but not anything life changing. However, my boyfriend's lamb chop dish was very very delicious. The one bite I had, paired with the pomegranates, was heaven. By the way, they offer gluten free bread service too. Has the Charleston lost their touch after the recent James Beard press? I'm not sure but I do hope they step things back up again. You come to expect a little more from an institution like this, especially after being totally blown away last year.

I also got an orange crush that was also good, a cider, and sampled their slushies. They have a strawberry bourbon slushie I really liked. You order food on one side (and can also order cocktails on that side too) but the beers and others are ordered on the brewery side. You're able to open a tab on either side though and it will be connect, so you don't have to do multiple transactions. Cool interior as well.

Both beer and entree were really good and I'm looking forward to my next visit where I'll try another entree out (or maybe have the meatloaf again, TBD!).

Coming to Annabel Lee Tavern is to experience an Edgar Allen Poe themed restaurant. It's not very…read morebig, feels a little crampy, dingy, in a rustic neighborhood you wouldn't think had anything worthwhile. Then you find out about this hole in wall spot. My friend said I had to come here. We did. As soon as we stepped out of the Uber the adventure began. The building is so out dated but the entrance door held its charm. Neon lit Edgar portrait reading from a book his Annabel Lee. Complete with a bouquet of flowers. To the right more words of the writer surrounded with a few tables and chairs for those willing to chill in the cold. Inside was no different. Several crows, skulls everything you'd expect. And a well stocked bar. Many writings on the wall, articles, awards, etc all added to the vibe and theme. And of course dimly lit but you could still read the menu. We were guided to the back for our party of 5, in a corner away from everyone else. That made it easy for us to converse as we perused the menu exclaiming this and that of the dreadful names used and deathly ingredients mixed in. It definitely made it more appetizing. After working all day I was ready for a drink and settled on the To Isadore; gin, lavender syrup, lemon squeeze topped with segura cava. That hit the spot. Unfortunately, I had eaten quite a bit on this trip and forced myself to order the Chef Salad. Nothing more to say there. My wife, though, ordered the seafood lasagna. Never had that and it didn't sound like something I could get into. I was wrong. This is Baltimore. The seafood here is astounding. It was delicious and had to take a couple spoon fulls. My friend ordered the double beef patty burger. I was jealous until he offered me a bite. That was really good too, and juicy. If you're looking for an experience and are not too afraid you may want to visit Annabel's. I do recommend it and do insist coming after the sun has been well down.

For the appetizer, we got the mushroom toast and miso soup. The mushroom toast was umami and creamy. And the miso soup had an interesting crunch on top, while the base was hearty. I really enjoyed both! For the main course we got the catfish. It was nicely fried and not at all greasy. I regret not getting the lamb instead, since I'm not the biggest fan of white fish. For dessert, we tried the shortbread and a blueberry cake. I forget exactly why it was, but the shortbread was so delectable. There was a nice caramel layer. Our server was very kind! Very attentive and friendly. I was celebrating a birthday, and when she heard that, she asked if we wanted a Polaroid photo to document the moment. It was so cute! Overall ambiance is nice too. It's cozy without feeling small. Although, it was very cold that day and every time someone opened the door, I would feel the wind draft. Maybe a slightly higher indoor temperature would be better. Anyways, I'd definitely come back! Solid food and lovely service. I like that they serve seasonal specials.

My husband encouraged me to not say anything. The food was good but I just wasn't feeling it last night. The tables were too close together and it was too loud. This was my second visit to Foraged. The first experience was much better. We had no alcohol and our bill came to $167 + tip. I'm thinking for that money, I'd rather go elsewhere
