We were originally seated in a booth, but it was pretty tight, so we moved to a table. We were seated quickly and served water right away. Everyone was friendly and pleasant. Our waiter, Jon, was personable, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. My wife and I started with cocktails. I had an Old Fashioned ($22). Nothing over the top, but it was a solid drink. My wife had the Pineapple Daiquiri ($20) and absolutely loved it--enough to order a second one. I started with the Clam Chowder ($18), which was a very generous bowl. Honestly, it was big enough that I could've just eaten that and called it dinner. We also ordered the Bread Basket ($11), which my wife really enjoyed, especially with the garlic chive butter. For dinner, I ordered the Wagyu Steak medium rare ($86). Unfortunately, this was the biggest disappointment of the meal. Our waiter said it was A5 Wagyu, but it wasn't what I expected from A5. The steak was very tough and actually difficult to cut with a steak knife. Meanwhile, my wife ordered the NY Strip medium well, and surprisingly, hers was excellent--tender, easy to cut, and delicious. I definitely had a little steak envy at that point. Even though I ate my Wagyu, I mentioned the issue to Jon. He confirmed that it was A5 Wagyu, and the manager ended up taking 25% off the steak, which I appreciated. For sides, I ordered the asparagus ($18), and it was cooked perfectly with Parmesan and what tasted like chimichurri. My wife had the mashed potatoes ($2 up charge instead of the fingerling potatoes) and said they were very good. The Wagyu also came with fingerling potatoes, which I enjoyed. For dessert, my wife ordered the cheesecake with mixed berry sorbet, and she said it was very good. According to Jon, the cheesecake is made by a local bakery, which was a nice touch and a great way to finish the meal. Overall, the service was very good and most of the food was enjoyable, but the Wagyu was a major disappointment, especially at $86. Our first dinner in Seattle came to $327. Definitely an expensive first night! After traveling all day, I was hungry and we went all in, but next time I'd probably keep it a little simpler--and I'd definitely choose the NY Strip over the Wagyu.

It took a while since the place was packed and the kitchen was overwhelmed. Our order seemed to have been lost in the chaos. The tempura cauliflower was ok but not something that I would order again. The burger on the other hand did not disappoint like Team USA did. It was huge, came with piping hot fries and was perfect with the beer. The wait staff did an amazing job. My sister ordered the beef short ribs and an apricot caprese. The short ribs came with asparagus, a chayote puree, and was topped with a spring onion chermoula, which she removed because it was too spicy. The apricot caprese consisted of whipped mozzarella, mint, sprouts, and pistachios with crostini. It was a big hit. They also have an extensive drink menu and my sister had a Zazzou mocktail made with pineapple juice and hibiscus. She enjoyed it.
