In a recent visit to Dallas, our family insisted we try Torchy's, their favorite taco spot. We ordered in a cafeteria style line and they bring the food to the table. This was a busy spot- full of family, teams after games and lots of to go orders. The tacos were good, but the queso was the real star. We filled up the chips several times. Solid food, medium priced. Parking outside the building.

Ordered two chicken fajita tacos to go and this is how we got them... :/ it's like a handful of oil was dumped on them and wrapped up... we couldn't even get these remade because we had already driven back home

Tacos are always good but these tacos are just special. The best fresh ingredients and so many options. The guy at the counter was helpful and nice. Even when we had no idea what to get. He gave us some great ideas. Chill environment with some music and everything was clean. Let's wait out traffic and have some tacos and drinks. Yippies

Goodbye Good Service and Quick Food. Went today and they are now using an automated touchscreen for everyone to order rather than a human, takes 5 times as long to get through the line, order was messed up, people are pissed off, 35 people waiting in line... the tacos are good but not good enough for the total inconvenience of this absolute disaster. Unfortunately never coming back to my favorite taco place again, unless they quickly revert back to real people at the register.

I was craving some Torchy's today! I went right before rush hour, so the line was short but quick. Shortly after I placed my order the restaurant got busy. They handed me a buzzer, but someone brought everything to my table (it's been a minute since I've been to a Torchy's, so I thought I would have to go up and get everything when the buzzer went off). The food came out quickly and the people were very sweet. The women's March Madness game was playing, and I was cheering on UT. It was a great environment. I tried a new taco, the Ace of Spades, off their secret menu, and I highly recommend it. You get jalapeño sausage, beef, and a runny egg yolk on two flour tortillas. Then Democrat is my go to and it did not disappoint. Sometimes there's a hole in your stomach that only Torchy's can fill!

So I've been a fan of Torchy's for a while, my go-to spot being the one off Preston Rd in North Dallas. I've indulged in both breakfast and lunch/dinner tacoliciousness in the recent past. Having moved, we decided to try the Torchy's closer to home for some breakfast grubbery. Enter Forest Ln location. Ordered online as usual, for a swift pick up and run to the casa house to fatten my Mexican belly. Once I got home, salivating as you would come to expect, I opened the bag of goodies and my heart broke to pieces as I saw the teeny tiny tacos that I've never been used to from Torchy's. They almost looked like play tacos that my nieces would make on their own, for Barbie taco time. Heartbroken, I opened my first potato taco, telling myself "well at least I can enjoy the taste." I soon realized that they replaced the diced potatoes I'm familiar with, with tater tots! Tater tots I say!! You may ask yourself, what's wrong with taters? Nothing....if you have them at a burger joint. But not in my Texas breakfast taco thank you very much. I may indulge from time to time in a fast food breakfast taco where tators are acceptable, but not when I'm paying this price for a good hearty taco. Diced potatoes gone with no explanation. A twist of the knife. The other tacos were good, at best, tasting a crumb by their size. Had to go get myself some additional breakfast to fill my deflated Mexican belly. Not sure if it's a change overall with all Torchy's locations, but I'm second-guessing whether I should even go back. Definitely not the Forest location anymore. Fo sho!

November 2024 I'm here for the first time during a business trip to the Dallas area. I'm from Southern California so we have a plethora of excellent Mexican food. We ordered the appetizer of queso and chips which was pretty good and for my main course I had a steak burrito. I found the meat to be a little tough and Lacked flavor. It wasn't horrible and maybe I picked the wrong item. The other people in my party seemed to really enjoy their tacos so if I ever go back, I'll try something different.

I'll skip the pastor and chicken quesadilla next time, and try and get the birria tacos if I'm there on a Sunday. I didn't get a picture of churros but they were the best I've ever had. Crunchy and flavorful. Service was fast, but the calling of your name (to pick up the order) is super low. I don't know how my friend heard our name. Ambiance is loud, but I was also there during the Mexico WC game, so that's understandable. The place was lively and fun.

There are multiple locations in DFW, and this review is for the Chilangos in Dallas off of Ross. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - The two Chilangos locations I've been to are both located in strip malls with a bright, neon "Chilangos Tacos" sign above the entrance. Inside, there's reggaeton music, tons of patrons, and ESL here. Once you place your order, grab a Jarritos, a bright red metal seat, and watch the staff cook your tacos to order. 1 Star. Service - The staff are very friendly and efficient. It really helps if you speak Spanish, so go with someone who does, or point to the menu item you want. Once you place your order, grab a seat and wait for your name to be called. The staff is super nice and efficient, and our order was available in about 5 min. 1 Star. Food - Birria Quesatacos with consume. Memorize it and order it. Kudos to my son who swears by this dish. I am now a believer. The tender seasoned shredded birria beef is so flavorful. The quesataco style melts the cheese into the corn tortilla. And when you take some diced onion and cilantro to top it, dunk it in the consume before biting into the most flavorful taco served in DFW. According to the menu, this dish is only available on the weekend, but I've used food deliver services to get my consume fix during the week so YMMV. Bottom line, it's not just the best item on the menu, it's the best taco bite in all of DFW. 2 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes. Chilango Tacos is expanding in DFW. There are now multiple locations in all of DFW so there should be a location near you. Chilangos Tacos is now in my weekly rotation. 1 Star.

It's a trendy, energetic pocket of Dallas that I had somehow never explored before, and it immediately caught my attention. The restaurant itself is quite unassuming. If I'm being honest, it didn't exactly scream "come on in." On this particular night, there was only one employee working. It took nearly 10 minutes just to place my order and another 15 minutes before the food arrived. By that point, I was more than a little annoyed. Then the tacos showed up. Talk about a complete plot twist. Not only was everything beautifully presented, but the flavors were absolutely unbelievable. Whenever I visit a taco spot, I like to order a variety so I can get a sense of what they're really capable of. This time it was the al pastor, carne asada, and Baja tacos. One word....incredible. I can't tell you which one was best! I've had great tacos before. I've had places nail one or two selections. But I honestly can't remember the last time three completely different tacos all delivered a perfect punch in a single sitting. Every bite was packed with flavor, expertly balanced, and memorable in its own way. Without question, this was the best taco trio I've ever had. What a roller coaster of a visit. I went from feeling completely ignored and wondering if I'd made a mistake, to wanting to walk back into the kitchen and hug the chef. Sometimes great food doesn't just redeem an experience--it completely rewrites it. The Taco stand is GOATED

Order this, and you won't go hungry. Cool downtown spot, open late, 10 minute walk from home. Plenty of seating inside and out. Only thing, and this doesn't go against the restaurant, but don't order delivery through their website if you can help it. Ordered through there, and it was assigned to Uber Eats. 6 drivers and 90 minutes later, my order was cancelled. I called the restaurant, and the staff was VERY helpful. Apparently, one driver stole my food, so every other driver was told there was no order to pick up. By ordering through the restaurant website, I couldn't dispute this with Uber Eats, since my account didn't reflect an order. However, the restaurant staff was VERY NICE in helping to issue a refund. I recommend the staff, not the delivery aspect. 2 hours later, and I wound up going to get a new order myself... even though I was feeling sick, which defeated the purpose of the delivery in the first place. Either way, I recommend the food, the staff, and the restaurant.. just not their hired delivery service.
