We were talking about trying it out and we were pretty disappointed. We ordered from a kiosk but you can order with a cashier if one is available. We found a table and waited for our food. It's been so long I can't even remember what we ordered exactly. I just remember that the food wasn't all that great. It wasn't bad, but the tortillas seemed stale. Oh yeah, if you order anything with fish, beware of the tiny fish bones! The place wasn't mad busy, but I can see this as a teen hangout. One of our dishes also came out after a really long wait. We've been here almost 2 years and finally decided to try this place. Coming in the staff was all very welcoming! We used the self check out and the staff was still welcoming and let us know they are there for any questions. We got several items and a margarita. We got the chips and queso, a steak fajita taco, and a burrito, and it all tasted amazing. Love the street corn and beans and rice. The dip was so good and love the little kick to it. I came here Thursday late afternoon out of convenience since our original destination was closed. You order on the kiosks when you walk in and I didn't have any issues with them. It was a fairly long wait for our food though. It was their happy hour so I did the 3 street tacos for $6. I got 2 barbacoa and 1 asada taco. This is one of those stories you like to hear about. Torchy's tacos has its humble beginnings from a taco truck and now has expanded to over 110 locations in 14 states!! And are all owned by the same person! How do they do it, I don't know?! But dang let me tell you there is a reason why they have had such great success, good food, good service and decent prices "that is certainly a recipe for success" this location has a full bar and big screen TV's with plenty of seating, I ordered a breakfast burrito - refried beans, it came with bacon, eggs, tons of cheese, chorizo, and potatoes. All for just over $8. Let me tell you this was one good breakfast and it's very filling. We also trio chips, sausage, and dip. "The chips are all you can eat, they refilled us 3 times and we did not have to ask, they came and asked us. Like I said... good food, good service, and good prices. read more

First off, you have to order from a kiosk when you walk in. For a place charging $5.40 to $6.85 per taco, I expected at least some customer service. No one greeted me the entire time I was there, and the ordering kiosk was not user-friendly at all. There was no real way to customize your food--it's basically take it as it comes. While waiting for my order, another customer came in for her mobile pickup and also wasn't greeted. It took quite a while before anyone helped her. Came to give this a try 2 different visits, even though reviews aren't promising. Last week I ordered (To Go) Bonfire Bowl with jerk chicken, that was really good, I could easily split meal into two meals as rice is filling with ingredients. I got queso and chips along with kids quesadilla (size of quesadilla is literally for toddlers it's that small so definitely not worth $3.40 (Nino quesadilla is free at cafe rio for younger kids fyi!) I ordered margarita to go, which was odd to be handed over in a bag, which spilt inside of bag on way to car, which leaked from bag before I could get cup out. Went back this week as my daughter wanted a Grande Burrito Bowl, when we got home with our order, seeing how they pack containers in a bag to find her burrito bowl is on its side, who in their common sense would pack bags like that!? I get it there's high schoolers working but management there needs to do better at training, I can see why reviews are low, shame as their food we ordered was good but not worth dealing with ignorance on how to put containers in a bag and to not put drinks in a bag, why didn't they have a tray for drinks? read more

This our family's local and closed Torchy's Tacos. We eat here at least once a month and are often joined by my in laws. For a total of 6 people who come here often, they have never made our order incorrectly. Service is always great - with cashiers noticing our littles and offering crayons and coloring sheets. Sometimes, the tacos are packed and sometimes it's half filled. That is the only inconsistency I've found. The taste is always the same - delicious. I love their queso and chips. I also joined their rewards program and found it to be pretty decent in offerings and point accrual. Will continue to patron Torchys :) read more

Ah, Torchy's. We had a thing. You, me, a Trailer Park taco (trashy style, obviously), and the kind of queso that makes you question your life choices in the best way. But lately? You've changed. And not in the "glow-up after therapy" kind of way, more like "midlife crisis in a Bluetooth headset" kind of way. Let's start with the kiosks. Great idea on paper. Slick screen, no human interaction (introvert win). But watching people try to order on these things is like watching someone defuse a bomb with mittens. One guy stared at the burrito screen like it owed him money. I aged three years in line. I came for tacos, not a live-action performance of Black Mirror. Once we finally ordered, the wait for food made me question if they were out back harvesting the corn, raising the cow, and spiritually preparing the tortilla. Spoiler: they weren't. When the food came, it was actually good! But by that point, I was too emotionally drained to enjoy it. And the music. Sweet queso-covered chaos, the music. Picture this: it's 12:45pm, you're trying to eat lunch, and suddenly you're in an EDM warehouse rave hosted by a possessed speaker with a vendetta against your eardrums. One speaker was so blown out it sounded like it was screaming for help. I like loud music. But not when my taco is vibrating out of my hand. Look, I wanted to love this visit. I really did. Torchy's used to be our ride-or-die. But between the kiosk confusion, glacial wait times, and the sonic assault on my cochlea, I think this was our "it's not you, it's me (but really it's you)" moment. Still love the concept. I don't think the food is really good here but I do come back for their queso dip. On Wednesday I went in to get some to go, and the girl that was checking me out charged me 10 dollars, I was confused since I've only been there 4 times, I normally don't pay that much. I asked her is there a smaller size and she got that sorted for me. But she seemed annoyed for some reason. She brought out the chips and queso, but there was about a pound of salt on the chips. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, but it was so salty I had to spit it out and throw away the entire bag. It was too late by the time I noticed because I was already home. I was really irritated by this as I was unable to eat any of it. Let me clarify by saying I love salt but wow this was way too much. There was more salt than there was chip. Showing up with pitchforks and torches to anyone's house who dare say torchys isn't great. This place is TexMex done right. The tacos are all great with plenty of sauce and flavor. The real center of the show is the queso. This spicy queso with a guacamole center is incredible. Worth it to order a few chips and queso with a side of tacos. I hate dealing with crazy crowds, so we were the ones who waited months to try this new location in QC Marketplace. Came here with my husband with an open mind. I just wanted something light to fill the hunger pangs. We shared a Guac and chips. Loved how fresh the tortilla chips were. Super crunchy and not overly oily. We dined inside and thought that we'd have to pick up our food at the window, but we were pleasantly surprised that they brought it to the table when the buzzer thing went off. I liked the crafted fruit teas at the beverage fountain. A nice change from only soda options. I liked both the mango and the blueberry I just had a green chile pork taco. Not pictured since other Yelpers had already posted it. It was super moist and full of flavor. I would have liked the option for some cilantro or other toppings, but otherwise it was a thumbs up. I loved that the tortillas were freshly made. That made all the difference. My husband had the Crossroads and he must have enjoyed it because he went back to order one more. This is the second location of Torchy's Tacos I have been to, and I must say is my favorite as there is more indoor seating. The service at both locations has been friendly, and I love the laid back atmosphere for a quick low key meal. The vegetarian options are abundance and extremely delicious!!! The mofaux is my favorite vegetarian taco, and really dig the queso dip - best in The Valley I've had! Lastly, I tried a cocktail for the first time and loved the Tito's Cherry Limeade so much that I ordered a second. I've heard a lot about Torchy's Tacos and finally gave it a try. Overall, it was a decent experience, but not quite the taco heaven I was hoping for. The menu has a fun, creative vibe with unique taco options you don't see everywhere. I tried the Trailer Park (trashy style, of course) and the Brushfire. The flavors were bold, and the portions generous, but the meats were a little on the dry side and everything leaned heavy on the salt. Service was friendly but slow, and the place was packed, which might explain the wait. The atmosphere is casual and lively, though it can get loud fast. Torchy's is great spot for some quick chips and tacos. The queso has good flavor and the tacos are pretty large/filling (if I'm super hungry I can eat three easily but two is normally enough). I like that they put the taco sauces on the side and provide a good amount of it. Service is always quick, even if they are pretty busy. Arizona has some creative tacos out there, and I got to say these are towards the top of that list. First off we did a faux pas and came in close to closing time. We apologized and said we'd be quick, but the guy we that greeted us (sorry I didn't get your name) was awesome. He helped us select and customize our order. If you come across this taco oracle just go with what he says. We had the Tokyo Drifter (my favorite), Trailer Park - Trashy style because when in taco-Rome, Green Chili Pork and the Democrat. My to Torchy's Tacos. It was very busy and very noisy. To add to the noise they had piped in music to make it worse. The tacos were not first rate but okay. For over $5 each hardly worth the price. I had the trailer park taco which was made with a flour tortilla. The tortilla was ice box cold. The filling has what looked like a fried chicken stick advertised fried chicken period. The fried avocado taco was also a let down made with a cold corn tortilla. The sauce made it somewhat tasty. We had the queso and chips. The chips were thin factory made but the queso quite good. I have mixed feelings, and this will be a mixed review. The first time I had Torchys, we picked up a to go order and it was incredible. I appreciated that sauces were separate. I tried the brushfire (jerk chicken) and the fried avocado taco. Both were excellent. The Diablo sauce is too spicy for me. The queso was too spicy until I got past that. The second time, I took my husband to lunch with high hopes and unfortunately it wasn't very good. I tried the fajita beef taco and the meat was not good. The pieces were huge, tough and unappetizing. My husbands tacos were better. He liked the shrimp taco. The line was long. The wait was long. The tables were dirty. The tacos were sloppy. Another huge complaint is the lack of to go containers and boxes. They offered us tinfoil. Not exactly conducive to taking chips and queso home. I'm willing to give it a shot again, but I'm assuming it's takeout is the way to go to avoid the line. read more

I've been to Torchys a bunch in Austin so when I was in town I needed to grab some. This location was very different. Ordered togo at 12:30 online and the app said it would be ready by 1p. I got in to pick up my order at 1p and the workers were next level RUDE. Immediately rolling their eyes to let me know it's not ready. The female cashier was extremely smug and the male bar tender wasn't much better. Around 1:15 I ask again. Fair enough to ask after 15 minutes right? Again smug, and lied that the tacos were getting bagged. Finally at 1:38, after watching multiple people walk in, order, and get their food, mine was ready. No "sorry" nothing. We tried this with friends today. Restaurant was an open setting with seating inside and an outdoor patio. There are no servers, you walk up to order and then they bring it to the table. Food came pretty quick and was fresh and delicious. We ordered the green chili Queso that was spicy and full of flavor. The chips were light and not greasy. A must try. We also ordered several tacos, green chili pork, fajitas and the Baja shrimp which was our favorite. They do serve alcohol which was a surprise. There were also a few TVs inside in case you wanted to catch a game. All in all, for the price I think it's a place we'll definitely try again. read more

We have eaten here 3 times. The first time was shortly after they opened and we ate in the restaurant. We were impressed and thought it was good. A couple months later we got take out and it wasn't good at all. Everything was soggy and tasted like it had been sitting around. It had been a while so we figured we would try takeout again tonight. This was the tie breaker- and unfortunately it wasn't good. We ordered online which was pretty easy, it allows you to add or subtract things. We removed cilantro & pico from everything. When we got home there was plenty of cilantro & pico. We did our best to pick it off. The fried avocado taco was soggy and tasteless. We also got the steak fajita plate. The steak was sinewy and had a strange taste. Unfortunately, I think that's the end of our relationship with Torchy's. read more

Gave Torchys a try to test if they were the best tacos in town! We started with a house margarita and Chirizo queso. The tacos were small and not full of flavor. It took a very long time to be served and when I went to the counter to ask about a timeline, she stated the order was accidentally not put in. To my surprise when I returned to the table the tacos were there. The inside is big but smelled very strong of cleaning solution. Not the best smell to walk into when wanting to eat food. The price is high and other local taco spots have much more flavor and filling. Maybe give them another shot when they are open longer. read more

When you pay $3 for a soda and there is no CO2. It would probably be a good idea to let guest know so they don't waste their money. I told the manager that the soda was flat and he said. I see great value in each of the menu items I have ordered so far at Torchy's Tacos. The taco filling combinations are unique, flavorful, large portions, and always prepared fresh to order. I've tried the green Chile pork, the Brushfire, the Democrat, Baja shrimp, and MoFaux (beyond beef) options so far over 3 different visits (could never eat more than 2 at a time!) The staff seems really happy to be working there, that's always a plus! There are two different options for ordering within the restaurant... at the counter or at the full-service bar.
