My husband and I enjoy Torchy's! You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. My favorite tacos are the Mr.Orange, the grilled Baja shrimp, naughty Santa from the secret menu, and trailer park. My husband's favorites are the democrat, the republican, and the fajitas. The chips and queso are satisfying and the half portion is perfect for the two of us. We also enjoy the damn good tots. I like that they have a taco of the month. In our experience everything comes out relatively quickly and we have been pleased with this location.

Torchys is one of my favorite places to get tacos. They have the most flavor and always have excellent seasonal tacos. I've had over half the tacos on the menu at this point and really liked all of them. So excited this Texas chain is expanding. The queso and guac are also so good. This location is my favorite because it's the fastest one and they always clean as soon as people leave their table. The bar inside this one has good seating and the drinks are a great price. The best parking is in the giant lot behind the restaurant. The order ahead and pickup is also very quick here.

Wow, looking for a relaxing place to go on Friday night with no crowds and a delightful bartender named Jules with my husband and I came tonight. It was such a relief not to have to fight the crowds and have such a pleasant bartender service. We will come back we love this place.!

This is my favorite Torchy's by far. The bartenders have always been super professional and friendly. The Hogfather and Scallywag have been my favorite specialty tacos. They have a monthly specialty taco that always changes so there's always new things to try. The tacos are very unique and have that Austin vibe (where they originally came from). Not the typical street tacos and such. But all kinds of unusual and delicious flavors. The Trailer park is a favorite saucy fried cheesy chicken taco with poblano, and I suggest making it trashy by adding their signature queso. The taco sizes are very generous. They have a full bar and my favorite signature drink so far has been Keeping it 100 (very smooth with that 100 proof Blanco tequila). The environment is very chill and great for all types of meet ups. I always have been treated like family here. This place is one you won't regret.

Torchys has very unique tacos with all kinds of toppings that you will not find elsewhere. They also have seasonal tacos , secret menu tacos and a great salad on the menu as well as a full-bar. This location has seating inside and outside. You order your food at the counter, get a drink at the refillable drink station or bar and your food will be brought to the table/bar. Sign-up for their rewards program for random free food offers and a birthday reward.

Torchy's, I love you!! If you're looking for good Tex-Mex tacos make your way over here. They have a variety of tacos to choose from but my favorite is trailer park (make it trashy). The chips & queso are bomb as well!

Shrimp taco without cheese

We were at The Rim for a quick bite to eat and decided upon tacos. Super casual walk up counter to order- easy and fast. We chose the green chile pork taco, shrimp taco without cheese, and chips with avocado dip. Hubby loved the pork taco. Shrimp taco had nice pieces of breaded plump shrimp, but I didn't care for the pickled onions. It overwhelmed the taco and I would have preferred sliced avocado instead. Chips were nice and light, however the avocado dip was underwhelming. I think a green spicy tomatillo salsa would have been perfect. Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating and cool decor. FYI - get 10% off your bill with military ID

Ask for Jules, she was amazing! Food is always excellent and such a fun place to be at!

Queso dip and chips

Sat at the bar to watch the NBA Finals and have a good meal. It is a very relaxed, low key restaurant to come kick back and chill. The queso dip was amazing. Highly recommend with or without the chorizo. Wish the chips were a little thicker so they wouldn't continually break when trying to pick up the cheese, but still sooo good. My husband thought the chili wagon taco was more flavorful than the pork. He would order that again hands down. I enjoyed the chicken fajita in the bowl for less carbs and it was also quite flavorful. I added some queso on top and oh my was that yummy. The staff was attentive and personable. The only thing that I noticed was the floor. It hasn't looked like it's been mopped in awhile. Not in just certain spots, but all around the restaurant.

GAME CHANGER! When…read moreI visit San Antonio Plantaqueria is an absolute must. I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Plantaqueria has revolutionized modern, classical Mexican street cuisine. It's open 7am-7pm so you can literally have this all day and you might wish you did. Y'all need to get you some, and don't thank me, thank the purveyors of this Alamo City gem. P.s. I've brought my mom in to eat this stuff and she totally agrees!

(It had Just Egg but I think other things added with it. It felt that it was softer and lighter than if it was only Just Egg) and pico de gallo on handmade flour tortilla. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

That's exactly the energy at Los Weyes de la Asada. From the second you walk up, it feels alive. Not in a forced way, more like you've been there before, even if it's your first time. The kind of place where your stress, your diet, even your cruda takes a backseat. Now the food. No overthinking needed here. Everything coming out of that truck is a straight up pow pow of flavor. The carne is cooked just right, juicy with that perfect char, and the corn tortillas are legit, soft but with enough structure to hold everything together. I ordered the Mamón and the Chingón, and honestly, both lived up to the names. No misses. And the agua fresca de fresa? That sealed it. They serve it in a little bolsita, which somehow makes it hit even better. Simple, nostalgic, and just cool. It's all tucked inside El Camino, which adds to the whole vibe, string lights, people hanging out, that easygoing outdoor feel where you lose track of time a little.

The smell alone made me think we were in for something special. We grabbed a couple of cocktails and ordered tacos, which seemed like the obvious choice. The tacos were good, but that's about where I'd leave it. They weren't bad at all, but they also weren't particularly memorable. With the aroma coming from the grill and all the recommendations I'd heard, I was expecting a little more flavor and a bigger wow factor. The atmosphere was fun, the service was good, and the charcoal grill definitely adds to the experience. I just found the food itself to be more "solid" than "spectacular." I'd rate it about a 7 out of 10. Worth trying if you're already at El Camino, but not a place I'd go out of my way for.

My wife and I use to frequent this place YEARS ago, the service was good and the food was good,…read moreyears later we decided to go back & mannn the food quality & service has went down terribly! Pulled up on a Friday late night with my family ordered the standard 5 tacos. They are a bit pricey as well. I ordered the carne Asada and my mother in law ordered the chicken. While it did seem like it tasted good it was super greasy. (TMI coming up) When I woke up the next morning my I noticed my bowels were literally moving the next day, (I counted about 9 times). I felt bloated and everything. My wife even told me that as we were pulling off she witnessed the cook I believe his name is Julio eating some of the product while he was preparing peoples food (the side door of the food truck was open so you could see right in). Funny enough we decided to go back Saturday evening to give them another try, thinking it would be better, BOY was we wrong. I ordered the same order plus charro Beans, elote (corn in a cup) and 3 cans of sprite. This time we took literally one bite and the meat was DRYER than the Saharan desert both the carne asada and the chicken. (Tasted like some reheated old meat or meat that had been made days prior). We were already at the hotel at this point and was infuriated!!! We ended up calling and I believe I spoke to Julio (or whoever the cook is) over the phone. After lying saying that he cooked the meat fresh that day he stuttered I told him aint no way the meat was fresh. He then said and I quote " I cooked the meat "a couple days ago" then said "sorry I burnt it or overcooked it". (Knowing that why would you serve that to me?) I then stated "yes it tasted old period". I requested a refund in which he agreed to. Driving all the way back I brought the food back as well. Julio (or whoever the cooks name is) tried to plead his case to me saying that the meat is fresh and took a fork and tasted the food himself and then tried to offer me the food. I told him "no I don't want to taste it, just refund me please" in which he did. Dishonesty, Not handling food with care, lying. Is something that crosses the line and I won't be back. *Also if the owner is reading this I have the phone conversation recorded and the video evidence to show proof this whole interaction, so do not just glaze over this review* I don't like writing bad reviews, but this one is for sure warranted. Seems like they will dress up the taco and selling you some "old meat" people just be careful and mindful when coming to this taco truck. "The Earths Best Taco" they say... that's a stretch!

The atmosphere and lighting create a very intimate vibe, and the darker setting really helps it stand out from other restaurants in Laredo. Just a heads up -- they do have a dress code, which honestly adds to the overall experience. The food was excellent. I ordered the chicken mushroom plate, and all the flavors were bold and well balanced. For drinks, I highly recommend the Jardin Eden. The fusion of lavender, blueberry, fruity liqueurs, and aromatic herbs made it one of the best cocktails I've had in a while. My only complaint was the service. We had a party of 10+ people with only one server assigned to us. He was very kind and professional, but it was difficult to find him throughout the night, especially when we were trying to pay our checks. The restaurant also wasn't very busy at the time, so service felt slower than expected. Overall, this is still a great spot for a special night out, and I would definitely come back.
