I'm really getting into Mediterranean food and I really like this place! The food is tasty, filled with flavor. For the amount of food you get, the price is outstanding! For an appetizer I had the Barbunya Plaki (red kidney bean), which was very tasty and for my meal I had the Adana Kebob....it was yummy! The meat had great flavor. Wow. Loved it!! First and foremost, the food was absolutely Delicious! The portions were very generous as well. we took my 7yr old daughter who mentioned she didnt like Turkish food...well, she gobbled up her dish and had her left overs for breakfast the next morning. This is a beautiful restaurant with superb service, attractive decor, good food, and reasonable prices. Everyone in our group was delighted. They serve a fixed price lunch with a wide variety of excellent choices. The food seems genuinely authentic, and in the spirit of trying new things I ordered Patlican Salatasi, a smoked eggplant dish. For me it was much too smoky but I'm sure that was me and not anything wrong with the way it was prepared. I ordered adana kebab (skewered ground lamb) as as a main course and it was excellent. Have been here for lunch today. Its a lovely place and the best part is we liked the quality of food. The food was both fresh and delicious. The ambience was warm and friendly. It feels nice to have a good lunch on a weekend in a good restaurant. Will definitely suggest Toros to anyone who like Mediterranean foods and flavors. Added bonus, they also serve really delicious desserts which also taste just perfect besides tasting fresh. Terrible. I've never had an oil drenched Shepard's salad in my life. I'm talking soaking in poor quality oil. Everything was greasy, which is shocking for Turkish food. BAD fast food at restaurant prices. Bad service too. Go to Hunkar instead... great service and light, flavorful traditional Turkish fare. read more

We had a party of 4 arrive at 5:30 for dinner and we were told because we did not have a reservation we would have to be out by 7; Since we did not make a reservation, we understood, however, we did feel completely rushed way before our 90 minutes was up. The food was good, but there was a very loud party right in the middle of the place, the parking lot is so small, so the valet took a while. They don't even let you finish the apps, they took our plates away without even asking; and they really did rush us. Never brought us the dessert tray, and there were a lot of empty tables. If you do go, make a reservation, but safe to say we wont be going back. read more

This is definitely one of my favorite if not favorite Turkish restaurants.. let's start with the ambiance very cozy intimate setting, old hookah, backgammon, nice bar, nice paintings that set the mood as if your in another world. Then let's get to the food absolutely amazing!! The hummus is honestly the best hummus I've ever had., I have had hummus in many places even in Egypt and this place by far makes an awesome hummus. The shepards salad is delicious the dressing it comes with and the fresh vegetables they use make this salad a refreshing appetizer. I have ordered the salmon to the kebabs and even this platter I forget the name but sautéed chicken with melted kashkaval cheese out of this world!! Again you really can't go wrong with the dishes here the food is simply very good. Also the best part is the prices are excellent! For the quality and ambiance for this type of place their prices are very good. I was with a group of five we ordered wine two appetizers, five main entrees and two orders of baklava which came out to 35 dollars a person including tip!! That's an awesome price for all the food and quality.. btw the baklava was excellent too! Reminded me of how they make it in Egypt! If you haven't been here please check it out! i usually meet my husband or coworkers at toros for their lunch special which includes beverages, bread, soup or salad, appetizer, and entree....a pretty amazing deal for like $12...the service is pretty decent so im usually out of there in time to get back to work on a very full and happy tummy...my favorites include the lentil soup, the babbaganush, falafel, and salmon...the place is rich in ambience due to the beautiful decor and warm atmosphere...definitely one my favorite lunch spots. read more

I have been there three times. I like the food but I always feel rushed. Last time I went we were 6 people and we got their at 8:00 p.m on a Saturday. by 8:30. pm. we were done. First, without writing anything down the waitress took our order. She came twice to change the order because they ran out of the shredded meat and something else. So we settled for cubed Lamb, she brought us chopped beef skewers!!! We didn't make a fuss, we wanted to enjoy the outing and we blamed it on her lack of command of the English Language. At the same time different waiters and waitresses were standing all around our table just watching us, literally grabbing the dishes off the table the second you put the fork down. It was uncomfortable, I thought they were going to hurt someone because they were coming unexpectedly from all angels and pulling the dishes away. By 8:30 pm were done with appetizers and dinner and the waitress was taking our dessert order I told my husband that I was uncomfortable and wanted to complain to the waiters and waitresses to stop staring at us but my husband didn't want to make a scene. It seemed that they have too many staff members for such a small space. I didn't like the experience, I was not happy and it made my dinner with my family lousy. I am never going back. I feel it was a waste of money, I could have enjoyed the time more at home with a pizza or went to a fast food chain. read more

I went with my boyfriend and was very diappointed. It has a beautiful, romantic atmosphere and the decor is beautiful and evocative of Turkey. I'm a vegetarian so was really looking forward to the meal based on my boyfriend's recommendation(he's a meat eater). We had warm baked bread which was average with the Yogurtlu Ispanak-spinach sautéed with onions and tomato served with yogurt and served cold. For the entree, I had the ebzeli Guvec-green beans, zucchini, potatoes & bell peppers baked with tomatoes & carrots in an earthenware casserole dish-basically a vegetable stew. The vegetables were very overcooked and basically mush. The rice that was served with it was tasty. Overall, not a good experience but to be fair the place is best known for their kebabs. My boyfriend loves the place so when I go back, will try a hot appetizer and stick to the kebabs! read more

*Imam Bayildi (Stuffed Eggplant; Whole eggplant served with delicious stuffing prepared from onions, green peppers, tomatoes, parsley and a hint of garlic; I liked this; the peppers and veggies inside the eggplants were fresh and seasoned well; I wish there was more kick to it or more spice, I remember liking Lalezar's stuffed eggplant but this was ok, I wouldn't say that I'd order it again; the eggplant itself was tasty too, perfectly soft) *falafel (Had them again and they are so good! they are juicy inside and very crispy on the outside; I loved how it came on a bed of chickpeas and salad, so it was like three appetizers in one haha, I love their falafel here and would always order it when I come); *Lahana sarma (stuffed cabbage; Cabbage leaves stuffed with rice, meat, pepper, onion & herbs; reminiscient of the Polish dish, but I really liked it, it was like soul food honestly; the meat inside was juicy and it had good flavor but definitely needed more pepper; they served 4 on a plate full of yogurt, which I barely touched; I feel like it was pretty but omg was it too much yogurt for me; the tomato sauce that the cabbage was cooked it was very nice too and not too salty) *Sutlac (oven baked rice pudding; omg, what?!!! this was so good!!! the pudding came in this clay dish and the pudding was cold but it was previously baked so the top had this carmelized layer and underneath was the rice pudding that was perfectly sweet, the texture was awesome; we loved loved loved this dessert; the way it was presented kind of looked like french onion soup haha) I love this place!!! been here a couple of times and they never disappoint read more

A mile and a half walk that resulted in getting caught in a flash thunderstorm and stuck at a mechanic shop for awhile waiting it out all to get to Toros! Was it worth all the effort? Well sorta...lets get a couple of things out of the way, the staff was friendly and courteous and the restaurant itself was nice enough plus they actually brought the check in a gold box filled with mints (classy). Now lets get to the main reason your bothering to read the review...the food. How was it? it was pretty good, I can hardly remember the names of half the stuff we ordered but the cold appetizer dish with the beans was good, the Toros combination thingamajig that had a little of everything was good too and we topped it off with a serving of baklava...aka pure unadulterated sugar overload! All that said though there wasn't any one thing about the whole affair that was remarkable...it wasn't very memorable...except for the baklava which i still taste 3 days later. So would I recommend it? Only if like me you just happen to be in the mood for something different then why not. read more

I'm very surprised by all of the great reviews here. Their food is ok. The doner was terrible and cold. Doner needs to be served hot or else it's just gross and this was not even warm. They also serve generic soda. The servers act like they are incredibly disinterested in working and would rather just stand around and talk to each other. I will not be going back here. read more

We had a little celebration and we wanted to go to this all time favorite place. But what a change and disappointment! We have no idea what happened to this beautiful restaurant, we ended up listening to very loud chatter of two female staff members throughout our dinner. The platter has been changed, they used to serve the dish with some salad, but it came in without salad this time, and forget about the presentation, food seemed like thrown onto the plate instead! I don't know if they have changed the chef, but the taste was not there either at all! It was all very dry! Last but not least, we had to wait for may be 10 minutes with dirty dishes on the table and hoping the female staff members would finally wrap up their chatter, and pick them up, but no luck! We had to wait for the check. Guess what, the prices have been all increased also! No wonder this was the very first time we have seen this place all empty with only 4 tables served with comparison to all tables were full and there used to be no room in their parking lot. It was all empty inside and outside and still no service. We left extremely disappointed and annoyed. We want the old, classy, elegant restaurant and the chef back please! read more

it's about time i post a positive review!! went here 6 weeks ago and it was yummy, manti and appetizer plate and gyro like platter with yogurt sauce stood out. the ambiance is nice and the service very friendly. Finally a yelp place that deserves it's rating!! will go back and the bread very good, lamb kebob, only disappointment , but hey nothing's perfect. Great Turkish restaurant. Everything is very tasty. Especially the doner, calfs liver and Turkish kebabs are delicious. I would stay away from the side dish pilav as it is the worst part of the plate. Stick with french fries. Their baklava and deserts are also delicious. There is parking but weekends and Friday nights a valet service makes parking a horrible experience. Prices were good but they lately increased all prices. This place has great food, good service, and a very well put-together atmosphere. I enjoyed myself while I was there as the setting was very warm and intimate. Our food took time to prepare, but when it arrived, we forgot all about the wait. The mixed meat platter was so very delicious, everything from the chicken kebabs to the kofte was savoury and of wonderful quality. I enjoyed every last bite. The gyro platters are also well put together with good strips of beef laid across a bed of soft bread soaked in butter and yogurt, all topped with a smooth, dripping, buttery tomato sauce. The combinations was tasty and just orgasmic, really. The appetizers are all rich and heavenly while the salads are fresh, crisp, and most importantly, refreshing.
