The Tapioca Mochi's texture is also perfect. It's very supple with the tiniest of bounce. With ease, I effortlessly imagine myself biting into the softest of popcorns. The Popcorn Milk Tea itself is not too sweet nor bitter; rather, its flavor is thoughtfully balanced. After blinking, I'd noticed my drink was finished, and I needed to forcibly restrain myself from rushing back inside and purchasing another. Torotea (Diamond Bar) wins. I arrived at Torotea (Diamond Bar) on Friday (around 10:36AM). To my shock, there was no line. Staff warmly welcomed and assisted me. I purchased their renowned Popcorn Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Tapiochi ($6.95). It was ready in three minutes. Fast! (Important Note: No Cash Accepted. Expect to use Card.) The ambiance at Torotea (Diamond Bar) is a pleasant surprise. It's located in a bland plaza with a forgettable exterior, yet its interior is cozy and almost fantasy-like. It's almost laughably ridiculous how hidden this location is. It had Disneyland Woodland vibes with its tiny wooden trunk tables. Torotea (Diamond Bar) effortlessly gives the impression of a trendy, hipster, upscale cafe in a well-to-do neighborhood. However, expect to grab-and-go. This location is very tiny, and it makes little sense to linger too long. Overall, Torotea (Diamond Bar) is perhaps one of the best tea spots in Southern California. Fortunately, I came on a Monday morning around 11am. Was surprised to see about a dozen customers there, which to me is an indication of how great this place is. The decor is simple & sleek, with few areas to sit; but not a place to work or study. The employee that helped me was friendly, took the time to explain the menu and made recommendations. Heard there's typically a long line here. Good thing it wasn't a huge wait when I went during weekday after noon. There was definitely a lot of people though! This place is WORTH the hype!!! Highly recommend stopping by here to try all of the drinks. Service is always great and friendly, as they thoroughly help you navigate their unique menu. They also usually have a sample out front as well. Although their website offers online orders, it has never been actively available during the times I've wanted to use it. PARKING: Free in the strip mall it's located in. YELP WAITLIST: Use this to help indicate how long the wait is. If there is a waitlist over 30 minutes, the line is pretty long. Join the waitlist on your way over (you have to be within a certain distance from the shop). Once you are notified, then you can stand in another line inside the shop to order. They did this because there's only so much space inside for a line and lines have gone around the other shops blocking others' businesses. Less of a wait on weekdays vs. weekends for sure. Their PERFECT SWEETness is described as slightly less than your usual 100%. Here's what I've tried: -JASMINE OOLONG MILK TEA: One of my go-to's as I enjoy more "floral" jasmine drinks. I always get this with black tea tapiochi, less ice, and perfect sweetness. -MISTY OOLONG MILK TEA: This oolong milk tea is descibed as "malty, roasty and creamy." The line wasn't crazy but still took about half hour from the time we got in line and when we got our order. There's an option to get on the waitlist but not sure how much it helps. It's a tiny place with limited seating so it's best to grab and go, which is what most people were doing. Drinks are high quality and sweetness level is on the less sweet side for its standard sweetness. If you have a sweet tooth, you will need to adjust for higher sugar level. There's no reason why a tea shop needs a waitlist; you can't even order without going through the waitlist, even if there's no in-person line. The interior is a bad attempt at modern brutalism; though apparently people love the prison concrete vibe. I came here back in September when they were still in their opening stages and it's crazy to see how much they've grown. They have a waitlist now (either on Yelp or in-person) and just opened their second location in San Marino. I went in person at 5 p.m. on a Sunday and there was virtually no wait. I was the second group on the waitlist and was called in within 5 minutes. Their tea remains one of my favorites from any boba shop and the quality control is great. I had my mind set on ordering the cassia milk tea this visit but they started offering samples of the misty oolong pure tea and my mind was changed. I've tried the misty oolong milk tea before, which I loved, so I changed it up by ordering the pure tea with Himalayan sea salt cloud. The cream top was not my favorite but the tea was pure bliss when I ordered it less sweet. I also sampled some of the ember milk tea, which had a robust nutty taste. Their most popular drink, the popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi, also had a nutty undertone. However, it's reminiscent of buttery caramel, similar to that of kettlecorn, hence the name "popcorn" milk tea. I highly recommend visiting at an off-time because I've heard of many stories where the wait is insanely long. I love their drinks. It is really, really good. I would love to try all other options on the menu again if I can. But! The biggest downside of Torotea is its location. It is far from where I live. Here's a thing, though. If it is just far, I understand. If the food or drinks are really, really good to my liking, I will sacrifice the long drive to go there even if it is far, only if it is close to the freeway exit. Torotea is situated in, like, the middle of a residential area by a school, and so even after I exit the freeway, I have to drive miles and miles to get there. That is a big no-no for me. I wish they had considered another location to open, but this could only apply to me. I had the Ember Milk Tea with Barley Jelly, and it was sooooo good. I love the roasted, nutty flavor from the jelly as well as the milk tea itself. I personally love this kind of flavor, and I look for it whenever I am out and about. I also got my friend a Roasted Barley Iced Tea with a little sweetener as he preferred, and he enjoyed it as well. The line was pretty long, and I did have to wait about 15 minutes to order and another 15 minutes to get the drinks, so if you are in a hurry, it's not the best option for you. The line kept getting longer, and it was a weekday too. Though it was worth waiting, and my drink was so good, because of its location, I am not too sure when my next visit may be. read more

Can't believe I haven't written a review about this place! This is a pretty good boba place in diamond bar! Torotea is known for their strong, quality teas and their drinks are unique! Now I don't know it I should call this place a boba spot since they don't actually sell the boba tapioca balls, instead they have tapiochi (like boba mochi) which I find really good! This mochi is still soft the next morning after refrigeration! I like their popcorn milk tea which is an Assam milk tea with popcorn syrup! The flavor of the popcorn is subtle and the brown sugar tapiochi pairs nicely with it. I've also had the misty oolong and the manor milk tea which is also great drink options. I wanted to love Torotea so bad--especially with my friend's glowing recommendation, but maybe I just need to try a different drink next time. Is it good, yes. Is it amazing to warrant the craze and a 30 minute wait to just go into the store? Maybe not. Before you can even go into the store, you will need to add yourself to the Yelp waitlist on an ipad in front of the store to even step foot in the store. From there you will have to wait in another (shorter) line to then put your order at the register. Pro Tip: Add yourself to the Yelp waitlist on the Yelp app while you are driving there for less of a wait. Crème Brûlée Milk Tea - Firstly I am not a huge milk drinker in general, so this wasn't my usual choice. The milk tea was good, and perfectly sweet! Just right. My issue is that the milk tea didn't have a strong tea flavor, so it tasted more like milk. Also the crème brûlée on top did not have a nice thick sugar crust from the blow torch. Crème Brûlées are known for that sugary crust that cracks and mine was just a light sugar crust. I would also add that the crème brûlée was a weird consistency. A bit similar to a thick paste. It did not incorporate well when I broke the custard down into the drink--the custard with the tapioca jelly at the bottom didn't go together at all. Cool concept, but the execution isn't as good as it sounds. Some things are just meant to be enjoyed separately. Calamansi Oolong Twist - I love fruit teas, and this didn't deliver for me. The Calamansi was strong but the tea flavor was lacking. Felt as though I was just drinking calamansi juice with very little oolong flavor. What they do amazing here though are the Jellys! If you are a Jelly person this place is the perfect spot as they have perfected the art of boba jellys. Perfect texture, sweetness and flavor! I love my milk teas so when I first heard about torotea and how delicious it was, I knew I had to try it out. I think gone are the days where the wait is like 1-2 hours (luckily you can wait around the area until it's your turn) but a typical wait is around 15-20 minutes now. You can either put your name down via the Yelp app, or if it's really busy, you may have to show up to put your own down. Once you're called, you check-in and then head inside to place your order. I love how they always have something new to sample. I've been able to try several of their teas but I keep going back for the drink each time. My favorite drink here is the Koan-Im Oolong Milk Tea + Brown Sugar Tapiochi (perfect ice, perfect sweetness). I love how you don't have to make any adjustments which shows they really know their drinks. The flavor of the tea really stands out and I love how the tapioca mochi is still even good the next day. It's good. I got the Jasmine Oolong. The jasmine flavor is very delicate, so I'll recommend getting no ice. Perfect sweet is a little on a undersweet side (hence perfect). I got extra sweet like a plebeian. The popcorn milk tea is very in-your-face in a good way, it's like liquified caramel corn. A great drink for movie nights or something. I'm not a fan of tapiochi, but they don't have regular boba. The inside of this place looks and feels like an art gallery, complete with fancy painted recessed walls and art exhib. Been here multiple times and they definitely do tea drinks right. This is not a boba shop. They do mochi or jelly cubes instead. The brown sugar mochi is very addicting in your milk teas and jelly's are refreshing additions to their mocktails and fresh tea drinks. Popcorn milk tea is their signature item and yes it is that good. I have tried variety of their milk teas from some of the non caffeinated ones to unique ones like bamboo jade. It's a great balance of milk to tea flavor so you don't get any sugary or milky nonsense. I also love on the non dairy side their calamansi oolong with passion fruit jelly. It's citrusy and refreshing, perfect for a warm day. There is usually a line so try and time the yelp waitlist, but it does seem to have died down a bit when I've recently gone on a Saturday afternoon. read more

There are only indoor seatings available! There are small number of indoor seatings! 4. The staff was friendly and timely with our orders! 5. The parking lot is medium size, but we were able to find parking right away! The spaces were single lines but not compact! Note: There are restrooms available for customers! My friend told me about this cute little coffee shop! The shop was busy and booming. I ordered the dalgona coffee which took me back to lockdown days. The wait was about 15-25 minutes. I'd definitely come back to try the other stuff on the menu read more

One of my new favorite boba places!!! My favorite was the tapioca mochi as the topping. I'm personally a fan of all things mochi so pairing this with the milk tea was delicious! It was my first time here so I asked the staff which black tea they recommended. I ultimately went with the Uva milk tea and I'm so glad I did! The black tea and the creaminess from the milk and paired with the mochi, was delicious!! There's usually a wait but got super lucky and was able to just walk in today. I might be the last person in Diamond Bar to try this now famous tea spot that has been voted one of the best in San Gabriel Valley. Located in a pretty old school plaza next to Dominos in is Torotea. This place has had an hour or even two hours of a wait time since they have opened. It feels more like you are trying to get into a club than actually getting a drink. But trust me it is well worth it. You can Yelp Check in from time to time to see how long the wait is and also put yourself on the wait list. The interior is very clean and has a great vibe of being on vacation somewhere on an island with the ocean waves. The tea itself is lovely and they seem to make it when you order it so you can customize what you want with the ice level, and sweetness. I came here with my friends and everyone did get something different but it was lovely! The names of the drinks are also completly different from what you see at most regular spots. read more
