When it was our turn we headed down which was a very short drive thankfully. I wasn't expecting the store to be very small when we entered. They had some samples of an osmanthus drink which I tried. It was very good! Trying the sample made me realize this shop was going to be very good. After waiting a couple minutes it was my turn to order. The drinks came out shortly after. I ordered the popcorn milk tea and matcha einspanner. The popcorn milk tea had a very unique taste; it was very buttery, like popcorn! I really enjoyed it. As for the einspanner, it was very good! Worth the hype! You can order online to skip the line (note: they charge an online ordering fee). I don't like paying extra fees so I opted to go in store and it wasn't that bad of a line around 7pm. The wait for the drinks was about 10-15 minutes. The tea flavor was floral and light, I enjoyed the jasmine oolong the best. Wow wow wow. I went on here on a Sunday after church and there was a waitlist that was 51 deep. I couldn't believe it. I then decided to try it on a Wednesday morning right when it opened and I was able to walk right in. I can see how this place had the waitlist because it did not disappoint Cute little place with cute seating, but you're not gonna stay there as you'll probably take it to go as there is only probably a max seating of less than 10 comfortably. Super small inside. Everything sounded so good so I ended up getting four drinks! Each one of them was so good. The cashier was so helpful and patient as it is as it was my first time there. 5 stars for the tea jelly by itself. I'm huge on texture, and this was perfect! Definitely not your typical boba tea spot, unless you really like the slight bitterness from the pure flavors of the brewed tea. Their sweetness levels are "perfect" (recommended, intended this way) and there are some customizations, so if you do get "less" sugar, it'll mostly likely be barely any, which was fine with me as I loved the bitterness of the tea. Their default / perfect level of sweetness is great as well as all of it weren't too sweet. They specialize on popcorn milk tea. I tried it (thank you, bestie!), and it wasn't my thing so I was glad I didn't order a whole one for myself. I did appreciate the drink though as the flavors were there, but I'm not a popcorn fan in general. The popcorn milk tea contained brown sugar tapioca mochi, which was amazing. I absolutely love the toppings here. We also tried their Cassia milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi, and the black tea flavor was rather unique. I got their misty oolong with vanilla cloud and tea jelly / tapiochi. So good! I really wanted to try their matcha einspanner, but wasn't really in the mood for that at the time, but next time, I'll get that depending on the time of day and how I feel. Thought it was time to leave an updated review. I have since come back to try a couple of drinks since then - I really liked their Jasmine Oolong Milk Tea and yesterday when I came in they had samples of their Bamboo Jade Oolong Milk Tea out (which I think is seasonal if I read the sign correctly) and it's my new favorite drink! More herbal-y than the Jasmine and I just love Oolong in general - Torotea does an outstanding job, I've yet to find anything remotely close to their balance between milk and tea, and perfect sweetness really is perfect sweetness. Came by one night after dinner for a drink. When we arrived, there was actually a bit of a wait. In order for you to go in and order, you have to put you and your party on the waitlist. When it is your turn, they will let you know, then you get in line to order. It's actually the first drink place that I've gone to that uses this type of system. It was not a short wait either so it seems that Torotea is fairly popular. I decided to go for their popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapioca mochi. My husband got their roasted barley tea and my friend got their creme brulee iced milk with brown sugar tapioca. The popcorn milk tea was pretty aromatic. It smelled like popcorn and the taste was pretty light in flavor. There may be a hint of popcorn flavor in there as well so it wasn't extremely weird or anything. I couldn't really taste much of the tea in the drink. I felt like the milk just drowned it out. The brown sugar tapioca mochi was interesting -- they were square so they didn't go up the straw as easily as regular boba. The mochi's texture was good but flavor was also pretty light. My husband wasn't a huge fan of his drink cause the barley flavor was extremely subtle. We're used to regular barley tea that is typically served at Korean restaurants. My friend really enjoyed his creme brulee drink but if you do get it, be sure to mix it. Otherwise, it's just milk at the bottom. Overall, good quality but the tea flavors are a little too light for my preference. It may be their style, which is fine. This place met the hype! I came on a Friday night and it was not packed at all. Was in and out within 15 minutes. I love the aesthetic and the staff were very kind too. The popcorn milk tea has an elegant, nutty, and sweet flavor and this unique innovative drink reflects the creativity of this place, and if this milk tea wasn't good enough already the tapiochi further elevates this drink. Dalgona Latte 5/5: This drink is definitely on the sweeter side but that doesn't take away from their amazing tea flavor. Was introduced to Torotea earlier this year and was able to try many of their signature drinks. There's a waitlist when the shop gets a bit busier than usual which is great considering the interior is not too big. The waitlist is required when busy, otherwise you cannot get in line to order. Staff are wonderful and even professional to a certain degree, they have great recommendations and there's always free samples of a drink they're trying to promote. Unique from other drink establishments, they have taipoca mochi as a topping instead of the traditional boba pearls. A nice change of pace from the standard because the mochi is just perfect, it melts really nicely and it's super smooth in the terms of how it feels to sip. Popcorn brown sugar milk tea and many other drinks like their misty oolong and cassia black tea. You can't really go wrong with any drink here as their drinks are made differently. Cups are hand size and has nice covers caps for easy accessibility. One of the few shops that feel very gourmet when you receive your drink. This specific cafe has a nice corner where anyone can sit at and its a nice spot for a new photo taken. Their "to-go carrier" is also unique compare to other shops, using a paper-like strap instead of a box, bag, or cupholder is certainly a different look. While a nice design, it can easily be taken apart or easily spilled/fall if not taken care of, otherwise a nice, simple design. Torotea is a absolute must try when it comes to the quality of the tea. Torotea was so good that I went on Sunday and came back again on Saturday!! For those who don't know, instead of using boba, torotea has "mochi" cubes. I would say it has the flavor of boba but is less chewy and more bouncy. But you'll have to try it out for yourself to fully get what I mean! Before you visit, I recommend checking the Yelp waitlist. It has a time estimate and I would say the estimate is accurate. I would also send 1 or 2 people to get drinks for the whole group; not 100% sure but I think this might help you get to the front of the virtual queue faster. Once you're in on the Yelp waitlist, you'll get a text. This is the point when you can enter the inside line and order. It took about 30 minutes on the waitlist, 15 minutes to order, and another 10 to receive our order. The interior is very cute, very much modern Japanese design. There aren't many seats though so I would plan to take your drink somewhere else. I've tried the cassia milktea, misty oolong, and bamboo jade oolong. The less sweet is the perfect version for me. Of the three cassia is my favorite. My only complaint is that I wish there was a bit more tea flavor rather than milk. I am lactose intolerant but had no issues with this milk. As long as you're willing to wait, I would recommend trying torotea's unique take on boba! read more

Finally got to visit Torotea, hooray! We used the waitlist function and it was a pretty fast wait. We went on a Sunday morning around 11:30. The shop had the cutest aesthetics and is quite cozy inside. There's some sitting spots inside to wait for your drink or chat with a friend. Pro tip if you're already at the store, most definitely place an order directly at the register instead of scanning the QR code on the wall and placing an order online. I was warned about long lines here but decided to give it a try anyway since my family and I were in the area today for Mother's Day. The line wasn't crazy but still took about half hour from the time we got in line and when we got our order. There's an option to get on the waitlist but not sure how much it helps. It's a tiny place with limited seating so it's best to grab and go, which is what most people were doing. Drinks are high quality and sweetness level is on the less sweet side for its standard sweetness. If you have a sweet tooth, you will need to adjust for higher sugar level. Ordered Popcorn MIlktea, Dalgona Cloud Top Koan-im Oolong Latte, and Creme Brûlée Ice Milk. They were all excellent but I liked the last one the best. They did this because there's only so much space inside for a line and lines have gone around the other shops blocking others' businesses. Less of a wait on weekdays vs. weekends for sure. It literally tastes like the name and is very unique to Toro Tea. Everything in this drink complements each other and is definitely worth a try, although I just gravitate towards my usuals. -MULBERRY OOLONG: This drink has a puree made with real mulberry fruits blended with their freshly brewed light roasted oolong. This place was highly recommended to us, and let me say, it did not disappoint. We were greeted with a warm welcome upon entering, which is always appreciated. The ambiance is very modern, very unique for a boba/tea shop. They have quite an extensive menu, so I can't comment on all their variety, but I ordered their most popular popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi (tapioca mochi, TRY IT), and my fiancee had the creme brulee milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi. I love boba, the traditional variety, so I was hesitant with the concept of tapioca mochi, but boy oh boy, don't knock it until you try it. Which brings me to the popcorn milk tea. It sounds strange, yes...BUT hear me out, the flavor, as best I can describe it, is reminiscent of the popcorn kernel, not overpowering. Another way to describe it is that popcorn flavor you get when you lick your hands after a handful? Yeah, they somehow replicated that and infused it into the milk tea. The creme brulee milk tea was ...WOW. It was actually topped with creme brulee, authentic with the toasted top as well. The creamy-ness of the creme brulee complimented the milk tea perfectly. This was a disappointing experience from start to finish. Although Torotea has a unique concept with their tapiochi, everything else was not well executed. I joined their waitlist and was 6th in line. Upon arriving, my group stood in line to order. We were confused why we joined the waitlist or why it was open on Yelp since it was not being enforced. About 20 minutes later, they started enforcing the waitlist. I don't think the waitlist should be open if it is not being enforced since it was confusing. Service was fine. We tried to order the dalgona cloud top koan-im oolong latte and add brown sugar tapioca to it, but the worker said it could not be customized. Another worker said to order the koan-im oolong milk tea and add the brown sugar tapioca and himalayan sea salt cloud to it to make the same drink. We didn't understand why we had to order a deconstructed version of the original drink instead of being able to customize the drink we wanted... Once we ordered, there was a long wait before receiving the drinks. Once my friends received their drinks, there were several other drinks called before mine was even though I ordered immediately after them. Total wait time after placing my order was 28 minutes. Ambiance: 3/5. The inside is small with minimal seating areas to wait for your drink. My group ended up standing in the small hallway since there were no seats available. The inside is very dim and had loud music playing (gave me club vibes). The menu was projected on the wall and was too dim to read. They had samples of the oolong milk tea at the front which I liked. DRINKS Popcorn milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi: 3/5. I was disappointed since this is their most popular drink, but I did not enjoy the flavor of the drink. I don't think I would be able to finish this drink. It tased like cereal milk. Koan-im oolong milk tea with brown sugar tapioca and himalayan sea salt cloud: 4/5. The flavor of the milk tea was nice but nothing special. I enjoyed the tapiochi texture. Misty oolong milk tea with brown sugar tapiochi 3.5/5: The drink had a weak tea flavor even before mixing the creme brulee in. Oojicha einspanner: 5/5 Overall, I don't think the drinks were worth the wait or the cost. The concept is unique, but I would not go out of my way to come back. read more

Who knew that some of the best boba and milk teas around could be found in the tiniest location? 5/5: drink quality and homemade tapioca toppings are top notch. They don't offer milk substitutes, so caution if you can't handle real milk. 3/5: small location but clean. Less than ideal for parties of 2 or more people looking for a place to sit and chat. They try and crowd control with yelp waitlists but it can be really confusing if you've never been here before. There is usually someone at the door to help with check ins. Caution that even at the 8th place in line the wait can be over 30 mins. Bring your patience but the drinks will be well worth it! read more

One of my fave boba shops!! Honestly I do like the waitlist feature that this shop has. Basically you would waitlist to order. It seems like a lot of people don't like it but it rly helps so that I don't have to wait in line but I can just wait in my car instead. The shop is also so aesthetically decorated and it makes the vibes feel so peaceful and chill. My go to is always the popcorn milk tea w the mochi tapioca. This is one of the most unique drinks I've tried. Totally unexpected. The texture of the topping really brings the drink together. Although it's called popcorn it doesn't really taste like popcorn. It's a creamy caramel ish(?) taste. Definitely hard to explain so I def recommend trying it for yourself. You def won't regret! Only complaint is that the drinks are pretty expensive.
