Host was quick to seat us. The restaurant was clean and nicely decorated. The waitress was professional and the food was good. I was pleased that the portions were plentiful too. If you like spicy sauce, I recommend the green chile sauce. It was unique to me because it was served warm like a queso. The waitress was a little bothersome because every time someone had any trash at the table like a straw paper or a squeezed lemon, she was at the table picking it up. They weren't very busy; guess she was bored. We had to ask for extra lemons, extra napkins, extra tortillas (they only served two with the fajitas) and sour cream because no sour cream was served with a fajita wrap but other than that, it was good. I am pretty surprised I never wrote a review for Tortilla Factory. Not sure how that slipped through the cracks there but at least I managed to realize a review was needed at some point. We came here with a friend (a former coworker of mine) and it's just so hard to resist not to get Green Chile Burritos so that is what I ordered. The Green Chile sauce I liked quite a bit and I thought it had a hood spice to it. It did seem like one part of my food was a little colder than another. It was noticeable that it was heated unevenly but not enough to make a complaint or ruin my meal so that was the only issue that was happening during my meal here. No other issues were present here. My friend's recommendation to come here was a good one and it's good to put in my mind as a dining option when in Cheyenne as one or two of my old standbys aren't open anymore in town. read more

Horrible cold food, enchilada still had a chunk of cold cheese in the middle, Carne Sada plate was ice cold and greasy. We ate a few bites and stopped. Would not even give 1 star. A group f us went in to eat. We got drinks and ordered. Other customers got their meals before we did. Our group ended up leaving without eating because it took over 45 minutes and still on food. We only had an hour to eat. We didn't get our food within that hour. Horrible service!!!! read more

My first order at any new Mexican restaurant is a Chili Relleno. I prefer the crispy (wrapped and fried in an egg roll skin or tortilla) over the traditional egg batter method. Batter version only when crispy is not on the menu. I ordered the Crispy Relleno platter. Best in town so far. I did NOT detect that 'canned' taste in the stuffed chili inside or the mild green chili I had them smother the Relleno in. It moved to the top of my list immediatley. Also tried the green chili on the side. Got hot. I'll go with the half and half on all future visits. Hot was just barely over my threshold of too hot to enjoy. Stopped by in a whim to grab some tortillas, as we walked out we decided to go back & get some cocktails & guac. It was a Wednesday around 3pm, ordered & paid at the front, were quickly seated & received our guac, chips & salsa immediately. Cocktails were margaritas on the rocks, Jose Cuervo & Patron, & they were good! The Patron was the "Cadillac" margarita, it came a bit more dressed up; with a sphere ice cube. We had options of salt or sugar on our rims. Staff was friendly & the newness of the building with high ceilings & open window letting in sunlight was nice to sit under with a friend. I haven't tried the tortillas yet, I'm sure they are delicious. I would highly recommend to take visitors to on a not so busy time for extra care & attention. read more

Food was good, variety on the menu was very good. Waiter was friendly and helpful but not very attentive. Watched our food sit in the kitchen for 5 minutes before served. Never came back to check on how it was and waited a long time to get our check when finished. Was going to ask for manager but not about service or food. They were not busy but they sat us in a booth next to someone else and felt constant movement while eating. They really should use every other booth when not busy to avoid this occurring. Before we finished, they sat a family with young children behind me and the constant kicking and banging on the back of my seat was very annoying. I inquired up front about their carnitas and was assured it was phenomenal, so ordered the lunch platter and a side of guac to eat with their chips n salsa. The guac tasted off and the salsa is better from Taco Bell. The carnitas they served me were INEDIBLE. Chunks of dried out fat (didn't know you could actually dessicate animal fat, but they managed!) masquerading as pork. This is my second visit here. On the first, I was not impressed. This time is much different. I visited the restroom about 1:45 pm, after lunch rush. Eating area is very light and open. Server was very courteous and efficient. I had the three tamale plate smothered with mild green chili. I usually don't care for green chili but this was excellent. Guacamole was great. Not too many filler ingredients and a good flavor. Good portion sizes. Another worker was cleaning under the booth seating. Good job! Favorite Mexican Place EVER. I'm from out of town and come out to Wyoming every year for Frontier Days. This is a must stop while I'm in town. Their green chili is the best out there. I always get a meal to-go (sometimes we dine in too) and then a quart of the half and half green chili and a dozen flour tortillas to take home. I'm not from Cheyenne but made two trips to the Tortilla Factory while we were in town for Frontier Days because it was just THAT good. Food: If you like breakfast (or even if you don't), please try the huevos con chorizo. It's amazing, spicy, and HUGE. Stuff a tortilla with the chorizo and just wait for your mouth to melt at how delicious it is. The ceviche is also good, but a little bland. I stopped in here for a business lunch. It happened to be during Cheyenne Frontier Days; a true test for a restaurant. I had the chicken fajita wrap with rice and beans. The chicken was seasoned just right with the right amount of onion and green peppers. I asked for the sour cream on the side. The meal itself was just the right size for lunch. The guy I went to lunch with had the 3 taco meal; I believe it was two beef and one chicken. He said his was good too. My boyfriend and I usually come here on a regular basis with no problems. I would like to start by saying I don't normally pay for our lunches, but when I do, I leave a 15%-20% tip. The fact I even have to explain that baffles me. My boyfriend on the other hand finds that the service isn't above and beyond exceptional. We see our waiter for maybe 10 minutes the entire time we're there. They bring us drinks and our food and that's about it, so he doesn't always leave a tip for that reason. Our bill is usually less than $30, meaning our waiter would get about a $4 dollar tip from us. I view this place to be fast food more so than a "true" restaurant, such as Outback, Applebee's, etc. Yesterday, we walk in wanting to grab some lunch. The hostess recognized us and greeted us by saying "you guys do know that our servers work for tips, right?" my boyfriend responded with a yes, and the hostess asked us if the service we were receiving was good, because the workers were beginning to complain about having to serve us. When she said this to us, my jaw dropped to the floor. I personally find it highly unprofessional and inappropriate to tell paying customers that your workers don't like serving them. Besides from that, I don't see how it was any of their business if we leave a tip or not, a tip is not required. I understand where she was coming from, and not receiving a tip can be disappointing, but this situation could have been handled much better. We were going to walk out, but decided to stay because we didn't want our lunch to be ruined. Our server was Sam. The last time we had Sam, he didn't ask if we wanted beverages, he waited to serve us last, even though he was serving food out to people who had come in after us and didn't even give us the chance to leave a tip. Yesterday, he served us respectfully. I told my boyfriend that we should tip this time and left 15%. While we were still at the table, Sam looked over the receipt to make sure we left a tip. We were both furious, and expressed to the hostess after our meal we found her actions to be inappropriate. I had told her that I understood her point of view, but there were other ways to bring about that situation, and she asked me how. I explained how this could've been applied to all customers, instead of singling us out. Maybe a sign that says to remember your servers? Our server, Sam, decided to come up behind the hostess and try to INTIMIDATE my boyfriend my crossing his arms and staring him down. My boyfriend decided it would be a good time to explain our last experience with Sam to the hostess, and Sam's response to it was "I wasn't having it that day." We all have bad days, but that doesn't mean you can treat your customers with disrespect. It got to the point where the hostess and boyfriend were arguing back and forth, so I expressed we will not be coming back. Her response to this was "that's your choice." Comes back 6 minutes later and says they're closed. I ordered a cheese enchilada and fries for my 2 yr old and they charged $6 prices were really high and sour cream was 1.50 for a side since the enchilada didn't come with it and the waiter forgot to bring it till I mentioned it at the end when my food was almost gone then she brings it and still Charges me. Once the mistake was corrected he brought the salad, it was a small tortilla bowl jammed with iceberg lettuce and a few bits of steak... no beans, or other vegetables or cheese? Not much of a salad. Still not a bad place to eat. But the food is honestly not as good as it used to be which sucks because they used to have the best Mexican food in town. I ordered the Carne Asada on my latest visit and I literally got an unseasoned cut of steak. If it wasn't for the 2 small pieces of lime they put on the plate I would've honestly had no idea it was carne asada. The reason I gave 3 stars though is because they still have the best green chili in town and their service was absolutely awesome on a busy night with them being short staffed.
