I just told my husband that the empanadas at Antojitos Las Delicias are my death bed meal. This place is the true definition of a 'hole in the wall' type place. They have no dining room but the new owners put out some sturdy large picnic tables so on a nice day like today you can eat outside. Otherwise plan to eat in your car or take it home. The only thing that keeps this place from being 5 's for me now is the huge price increase. My husband and I got two entrees-no sides-and shared a drink. The bill was $40 for lunch. There is no ambience because there is nowhere to sit as it is just a walk up window that's not in the fanciest area of town, but that has the best Mexican and Salvadoran food! They have recently added American food to the mix as well. My favorites are the chicken empanadas, sopes, and Gorditas! I must say that the small empanadas have become my absolute favorite here! They are always fried to perfection with fresh chicken and cheese and I always ask them to add refried beans inside as well. They also put sour cream on top which I don't prefer but have gotten before, and it doesn't harm the taste at all. I just don't prefer the extra calories that the sour cream adds as the taste benefit is not worth it to me. There's always salad which consists of onions, shredded lettuce, and tomatoes as well. I have also gotten their pupusas. That come with special salsa and the coleslaw that is always delicious as well. The salsa and the pupusas are such a good marriage with The coleslaw that is vinegar based. They are served fresh and delicious with the freshest ingredients! The prices are relatively reasonable and the service is always friendly and quick. They also serve Aguas Frescas that are pineapple and Agua de Jamaica. My favorite is the Jamaica, which is just iced hibiscus tea, but it is so delicious! It's never overly sweet at all which I love. After the very pleasant experience of trying the Huaracha at this small, out of the way spot, I returned to try their tacos. So I ordered 2 Chorizo Tacos and 2 Carne Asada Tacos - they go for $2.50 each. The tacos had a single tortilla rather than two and were not as well filled as some, and the amounts were uneven. The Chorizo Tacos were outstanding, loaded with the flavor this sausage can produce when it is a quality item. I decided to try them out for the first time, I didn't bring my lunch, so it was the perfect time. there is no seating inside. You either order outside the window (pictured below) or call in your order,which I think is best to do. My co-worker told me about this place, and to be honest, I was a bit hesitant, but I figured I would try it before I judge because she said they were great! I called it in, and the lady who answered was super friendly. She gave me options and or alternatives for what I wanted to order,there is even a few hidden plates that are not on thier menu that you could ask for like for example, I got the Chilaquiles verdes (consists of 2 fries egg, beans, Avocado, fried cut up tortillas in green tomatillo salsa with white onions and creama(kinda like sour cream) and I added Carne asada for an extra charge, but oh my goodness, it was BOMB! I have been here a few times. The main draw are the tortillas which are clearly homemade and an unbeatable flavor. I had not been here in a year and the serving size seems a bit smaller compared to the past. That is disappointing. Also note the tables which were once out front are no longer there. Hands down the best Mexican food in town. I'm a big fan of El Rancho and will continue to eat there when I want to sit down in a restaurant. But this little gem has no dining room. There are no menu boards, but ask for one at the window. There is a window with iron bars to place your order and a few patio tables scattered in the parking lot in front of the restaurant. Or you can eat in your car... which makes me want a Carne Asada air freshener for my car! It is located on 5th Street, just one block east of MLK. The owners are fantastic and take a lot of pride in their food. The meats are so jam-packed with flavor they will make your head spin. The carne Asada was amazing and tender. The Barbecoa was like tender pot roast. The Al Pastor was delightful. The tortillas and gorditas are homemade and fresh. The prices are ridiculously low, we had three items and a drink for nine bucks. I cannot wait to go back and work my way through their menu. Visit #2 - ordering was slow and painful. It took about 15 minutes to order 4 items. Each item was written down in it's entirety, so they might want to learn restaurant shorthand. Then everything had to be looked up for the price, then written down, then added on a calculator, then entered into their credit card processor. They might want to get a "Square" to process payments and actually ring it up as they go to shave 12 minutes off the order time. Otherwise they will only be able to serve 4 guests per hour at this pace. It wasn't this slow on the first visit, so I'll chalk it up to the family uncle that doesn't actually know what he's doing. They actually told another guest to wait 15 minutes prior to placing their order. A third guest arrived to pick up a phone order and it wasn't ready, they were also told 15 minutes. We ordered Chicken Enchiladas with Red Sauce, Tlacoyos with Barbecoa (shredded beef), Tacos Con Consome, and Baleadas with Carne Asada. We've been here 35 minutes, still no food, but 15 minutes were spent waiting to pay, so it's been 20 minutes waiting for food. And it's still just the same three customers waiting, no other guests in site. We were informed that the Consome was not made today and the tacos would be served without it. At the 50 minute mark, we finally got our food, and the lady with the to go order got hers. The other guy just watched us eat and asked if it was worth the wait. The food is worth waiting for, but not 50 minutes. The tacos were rolled and crunchy and delicious. They also have traditional street tacos. The enchiladas were packed with tender chicken and a nice red sauce. The Baleadas was like a quesadilla but filled with carne Asada and refried beans. The Tlacoyos has a masa base similar to Sopes, and topped with beans, shredded beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese and crema. Everything was excellent but I would still give my nod to Carne Asada as the go to meat based on flavor. We had two hot sauces, a red one that was very mild and a green tomatillo sauce that had a little kick. But ask for the green sauce with avocado... That's the star of the show. We left with a full belly and wondered if the third guy ever got his food as he had now waited over an hour. read more

As a Winston native I've never been here but it gave it a shot and I don't regret it one bit! The location may appear a little sketchy but the food is delicious! I ordered a veggie burrito and it was MASSIVE! You really get your bang for your buck with this place. They also give you sauces that really add flavor to your meal. The service was fantastic, and everyone was very friendly. There is no seating on the inside, so it's more of a stationary food truck vibe, just as an FYI. This is my taco spot. I get jealous when other cars pull into the parking lot while I'm there waiting for my food. Most Tuesdays I'll stop here and get 5 or 6 tacos and inhale two before I leave. At $1.80 each, I've never ventured to try much else on the menu. I tried the flautas once and I did not like them. They were authentic and handmade, but they just didn't taste that great. I got a gotta once and I had instant regret. I really just wanted tacos. "Stick to the waters you're used to..." So I'm just going to get tacos from here on out. My only complaint is that the tacos never seem hot enough--as in, the meat may still be in the danger zone and not heated up to a cool 165°F. But guess what: I don't care. If you're seriously hungry, get a torta--it's a pile of meat, cheese, and avocado on a huge slab of french bread. Not the sexiest thing on the menu, but it'll pretty much ruin every other sandwich for you forever. It can be a bit slow, but that's because they're making it to order. Just call ahead--they're great. I've called ahead for a pretty big order and everything was done on time, as promised. As others have said, there's no indoor seating, so either go on a nice day and sit on the little patio, or eat it alone, in your car, in the parking lot, as you saturate your upholstery with al pastor aroma. I forgot lunch one day and needed somewhere close to my work to grab a bite to eat. This was nearby and I haven't had the chance to try the Mexican food in the area yet. It did not disappoint. It may look a little rough from the outside with bars on the windows, but the food was great at a reasonable price. I never had pupusas before, so I gave them a try with cheese and pork. The salsa that came with it was extremely spicy, but it was so good that I powered through. Will definitely be back when I need a quick fix for lunch again. Hear me out, hear me now, hear me loud, and hear me clearly! The absolute best Mexican fare in the entire Triad is here at Antojitos Las Delicias!! I've been watching this place from afar for a while, noticing the reviews, and watching to see if they stay afloat. There is no inside dining, so you either get it to go or on a nice day you dine at the tables provided outside. Not a big deal to me as this is common in these type stands in the inner cities of San Diego, L.A., San Fran, Vegas, or Phoenix. Everything here is made by seemingly the grandmother and she certainly knows what she's doing! Everything is authentic and extremely fresh! I got a few things to sample and was blown away by each one! The order of tacos, pastor and pollo, were extremely good with fresh made corn tortillas, and excellent meats! The Sopes were the best I'd ever had and perhaps the largest. Crispy corn patties with that slightly heated pastor and another with that seemingly tomato stewed pollo just rocked my world! Perhaps the most pleasant surprise, and the winner of the three, was the Pupusas! One bean and cheese, and one pork and cheese, all stuffed into fresh corn tortilla like cakes was absolutely incredible! I wish I could speak Spanish so that I could have possibly made my order slightly better. It was my first time here, I wasn't sure what to order, and the language barrier prevented me from asking a lot of questions. I ended up with 2 carne asada tacos and 2 chicken tacos -both with pico & cheese. I ordered rice and beans on the side because they couldn't add it to my tacos. The steak was SO good! Nom nom! The chicken was just okay. I was expecting grilled chicken from the pictures on here, but it was stewed and I don't love the texture of stewed chicken. For stewed chicken, it was pretty good. The Barbacoa is some of the best I've ever had and when it's piled on that massive torta and topped with delicious red sauce it makes for one of the best meals in the city. This was a good little place to stop for a quick lunch while passing through W-S. I got a couple of gorditas ($5.99), one with chicken tinga (spicy shredded chicken) and the other with puerco con salsa verde (pork stewed in tomatillo salsa). As everything - including the masa - is made fresh here, it did take a bit longer than expected for the food to come out, but it was ultimately worth the wait. That said, I'm still deducting a star, since the wait did seem a bit excessive, and since I wasn't completely into the flavor of the tinga. I've heard it's great...unfortunately they're always closed early whenever I try to go. The first time I figured it was because it was raining but the next two times (including this week) I checked their social media and they clearly said they'd be open until 6. At 515, the place was deserted. This is no way to run a legitimate business.
