My friend ordered tagliatelle alla bolognese and said it tasted like Chef Boyardee...so she wasn't impressed. I ate a few Italian places and this one was just ok. I don't I would come back here. The staff was great, the food not so much.

Our server "Nico" was a super pleasant fellow that worked very hard to provide great table service, albeit just a dash slow. I think it was a kitchen issue. The ambiance was casual but still nice. Crushed stone floor for this indoor/outdoor restaurant. Restaurant served no charge table bread with dips. The food was delicious. I had the off-menu fettuccine Alfredo ($190p) with Ham & Mushrooms (they forgot the mushrooms)? Even without the mushrooms it was delicious. This is a definite do over.

We started with some ceviche and stuffed jalapenos. Both were delicious. I order a glass of Malbec from Argentina- happy they had a decent wine selection as many places in Mexico only have good beer or tequila. For my entrée, I had bacon wrapped tiger shrimp on a bed of mashed potatoes. Yum!! Daniel had a lobster pasta dish and it was quite good too though I think we both preferred mine. The price was very reasonable - for 2 apps, 2 entrees and 2 glasses of wine it was $77 USD before tip. It would be nearly impossible to have that much for that price at a fine dining place here. Then We both got the grilled Octopus and if you like this sort of seafood, then you will love this. I know people don't like the texture, so then you can try a steak or something. But this Octopus was very delicious. The mashed potatoes were a hit and the French fries were really good as well. Before I end this review I have to give my extreme props to this place- for getting Italian food right!! Every dish I took a bite of, I wanted to cry. This is how it's meant to be- Italian food AND eating out at a restaurant. The espresso at the end - made me cry. So perfect.

Restaurant looked pretty busy and the waiter was able to accommodate 8 people at the last minute. Restaurant was clean and nice vibe to it. Staff was friendly and attentive. Waiter brought complementary bread and sticks prior to meal which was good. I ordered the Calamarata pasta with shrimp, baby lobster, octopus calamari, clam mussels, presh tomatoes and parsley. Others ordered homemade spaghetti with mussels and shrimp, homemade tagliatelle, carbonara, and Alfredo with lobster. Waiter was nice and brought sampler on the house, which was half meatball on top of some type of Chipotle sauce. Meatball was not too bad with the sauce. Dishes came and I was bit disappointed with the presentation. Even though it was the most expensive dish on the menu it was around $26 and in US this kind of dish could easily be over $40. The baby lobster looked pretty good, two clams tasted fresh, and mussels were ok. I took my first bite and the sauce had strong seafood flavor which was overwhelming, and it was not a good flavor. Fishy seafood flavor was over powering. I tasted the mussel and other lobster dish and sad to say the flavor was very similar. Half way through my dish, I flipped over the baby lobster and to my surprise the meat portion by the tail was empty. I was like what the heck happened to my lobster. I looked through the dish to see if it fell out and nothing.. So I showed the waiter my dish and asked him what happened to the lobster tail. The waiter said maybe then they cut it in half other dish got the losbter tail.. {Ok}. Then the waiter had the audacity to ask me if I already ate it. I said ummm no I just flipped the lobster and called you. The waiter then said he will take care of me later. Shortly after he came back with one full baby lobster split in half. This was a nice jesture and the lobster tasted good. Over all, the dishes were just average and service was great until he questioned my integrity. Finally the icing on the cake was when the bill came and I handed the waiter the bill, he counted the money in front of me. . After he realized I gave him a tip he said thank you. I was hoping this place would be so great I would want to come back. But nope, I left here going man, I wish Yelp had option to give 2 and half stars.

The location of the restaurant at the end of 38th St. near the beach, away from the crowds on Quinta Avenida makes for a relaxing, quiet ambiance. A total winner!
