Came here for a meal (and drinks) before heading to a rave a few months back, and enjoyed what I got! I had a birria taco platter and shared a frozen mango margarita flight with my friends. Food was filling, and the drinks were strong! The space within the restaurant is set up to host different sized parties, and finding parking may or may not be a problem (depends if you can find some on the street or park across at the grocery store lot). Not really sure what the hype is all about. I tried the downtown SJ location but have heard the San Carlos location is better. Food wasn't great and the drinks definitely weren't something I'd recommend. I ordered a blueberry smash and it has no actual blueberry smashed in it and rather a very distasteful syrup. My cousins, friends and I are obsessed with tostadas whether it's for brunch or dinner. The workers here change a lot based on time of day; but recently the consistency has dropped a bit since 2021-22 which I will give the benefit of the doubt, I just miss the intimacy workers brought. The pizzadilla are always our the go to, and of course the weekdays they have their special of the days which I enjoy. Parking There's a small parking lot right opposite this place which might suffice on weekdays/ Sundays. You might have to find street parking on weekends, which might be tough 2. Vegetarian options As a vegetarian, I found this place to be mostly meat-based and not have a lot of vegetarian options. The ones I did end up trying i.e. Vegan Tostadas, were honestly alright and seemed a tad flavorless 3. Ambience + Hygene They have a fairly small indoor space which is currently being used to accommodate large and small groups. Given how crowded it can get on weekends, the indoor space seemed too cramped up for such a large crowd. If you like tasty, but very unhealthy food, then this is going to be a gold mine for you. The food is really really good. Only problem is that it could possibly give you a heart attack. I ate the birra burger, and it was truly exceptional. Except that I felt a bit uneasy after eating it. It's meat on top of meat on top of meat. Prices are also a bit high for what you get, but again the taste was worth it. Not sure if I'll come here again soon, but I wouldn't put it past me to try their other location. read more

This place is at a corner in downtown San Jose. The food here has always been good portions and all so tasty. Ciro is the best server hands down :) Birria tacos, benedicts, posole, and the drinks. Their food is always displayed nicely and some drinks come with flowers. I always get a benedict as that is my go to and a drink. Tried La Toxica and it was so pretty and also deliciously strong. While waiting for our photos to develop a few doors down, we decided to stop by this nearby bar for a cocktail. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of our drinks, and although we were the only non-locals in the bar, the atmosphere was welcoming and inclusive. It was a bit intimidating initially, but we soon felt right at home. The waitress was attentive. The drinks were ice-cold and refreshing, and they hit the spot. Parking can be in the street in front of the restaurant or in the grocery lot right across. Just make sure to bring all of your belongings with you. Servers are quick and nice! Bathrooms are clean. Menu is delicious. Options for both breakfast and lunch/dinner. My husbands favorite is the birria burger. If you are a large meat eater, highly recommend. Their drink menu is tasty as well - can't go wrong with a margarita with tajin on the rim! Came here for me and my partners 4 year anniversary yesterday first off after being seated the silverware was still dirty and had caked on food and his napkin was dirty with lipstick marks before we even touched it. We told the hostess and let it go, decided to order food we wouldn't have to use silverware for. My partner ordered a burger and specifically told them multiple times he's allergic to cheese then once the food comes out the burger has cheese on it so he told them he can't eat it and would need it remade so I didn't even want to eat yet without him on our special date. Since he was facing the kitchen he saw the waiter point at him after bringing it back into the kitchen and they started laughing pointing at him and the cook was eating fries off the plate. They did offer us complementary appetizer while waiting but we were both very disgusted that the people who are supposed to be feeding us are eating off the plates in the kitchen while service is going on and felt extremely disrespected so we decided to leave and had a great time somewhere else. Never coming back here and will never recommend to anyone else due to the blatant disrespect from the kitchen staff. We did appreciate the manager coming out to apologize to us. read more

Last Sunday I decided to try this place for the first time. Luckily I used their yelp series to be on the waiting list. I arrived on time and immediately noticed how busy the place was. From this moment I decided to be patient and very objective about the service and food. The wait was not that long but it was clear that they needed more staff (both in the kitchen and waiters) at this point, I assumed that with all the new COVID19 rules most likely they are restricted to having more staff (you know, social distance). I had to ask (twice each item) for napkins, cutlery, and seasonings. The atmosphere is great, the food is good, but I think if this is your first time at this place, the best option is to go on weekdays to avoid busy days/hours so you can appreciate/enjoy the whole experience because the wait for your table will be long, the people who attend want to take their time to first, enjoy their drinks, then order their food and finally their dessert. I had Mexicano omelet and my friend chilaquiles rojos and Michelada with shrimp and he was really happy. In his own words "The best Michelada in town" and legitime chilaquiles. I highly suggest ordering there birra tacos, they're by far one of the best in downtown. Alcoholic drinks are the best! Walking distance to downtown clubs and about a 5min drive to SAP center. Great food with a really fun atmosphere. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed. We ordered tostadas, 2 orders of tacos and an order of eggs benedict. Presentation was great and the portions were plentiful. We definitely over-ordered and had plenty of leftovers. The place gets pretty loud with music with a packed house. We were seated fairly quickly after checking in, but the food also took a while to come out. We waited around 20 mins. For highlights, the crispy tostadas and the birria were our favorites. The only thing this restaurant can boast about is ambiance. The rest is a train wreck, and needs a complete overhaul, including menu and staff. If you can't afford good cuts of meat to serve in your restaurant, just reboot your menu to reflect that you don't care about anything but your bank account. Serving unsuspecting customers second class meat while charging premium prices is a crime in itself. Maybe someone not familiar won't notice, but most of us know you aren't serving what you claim to be serving. As for your staff, I can only assume they are family and friends. There is no other explanation for the nonchalant, rude, and downright hostile staff you have supposedly working for you. The drinks were fine, but on the weak side. While weak drinks are fine with me, it speaks to the cuts this restaurant is willing to take to save a few pennies. We do wish we had looked at reviews before spending our money here. read more
