With the liquor initiative passing in WA, It would be nice to have one of these stores near here. Last time I visited a few bottles of my fav, Laphroaig Single Malt, ended up in my trunk along with large bottles of Jim Beam Black and Gentleman Jacks...made the ride back to Seattle worth it (shhhhhh, don't tell anyone). Seriously, the selection is incredible and the prices are good, you can get the large bottles of just about any liquor for almost the same price as a fifth in Seattle. We are frequents at this location of Total Wine and everyone is very friendly, there's always someone willing to help if you need it. The store is clean and everything is usually in stock (My fiance' just wishes the Angel Envy Bourbon was in stock more often). Just a warning: They card everyone who looks under a certain age (35, 40 or something like that), so even if you're not physically paying for the alcohol, they still card! A man can find large selections of wines in several Phoenix locations however the service at this TW location makes one feel relaxed about learning the wine ropes. Worst Total Wine store I've ever tried to shop. Extremely rude/arrogant employees & after spending some time shopping this trip they blatantly denied my coupon issued by Total Wine because it didn't come up on their computer. What really got me was they acknowledged this 20% off coupon, but refused to enter it manually. Not the first time I've had a problem at this store, but guaranteed it will be the last----------never go back. Other than that, this is a good company for your wine/adult beverages requirements-------just stay away from Desert Ridge! I've been a fan of Total Wine for some time now but this is a "As good as it gets" review in my opinion. I've lived in both Glendale (Arrowhead), and Phoenix area and love that I've been able to find this store near my home in both cases. The selection of wine is phenomenal. I've recently found a Pinot Noir from Argentina that has turned my fiance into a red wine lover, and a Cab from Chile that I've regarded as good as some of Napa Valley's, without the heavy price tag. That's the best part, I LOVE tasting wines from around the world and Total Wine gives you that opportunity. It may appear overwhelming, walking in and seeing isle after isle however, they have made it simple to navigate thru by listing each isle or section of an isle by grape and region, and then my manager tips and favorites which I've found to be helpful. And if your looking for a great bottle of Vodka for that occasional martini, look no further. Total Wine also has an amazing selection of spirits as well! read more

Total Wine has one of everything - liquor related. I mostly shop here for wine and beer. Their prices are the best and their selection is really good too. I like a beer from Pennsylvania (Victory Brewing) that is not easily found but Total Wine has it of course. They also have wine at a good price, even better than Costco. read more

The Candy Store for a Wino. LOVE IT. Shocked to find Korbell priced at $8.47 - cheapest I've ever seen it over BJs @ 9.49. Store attendant said items that end in a 7 could often be priced at just 5 cents above their costs to attract people to the store. It worked, went back and bought 8 bottles of Vueve; however found pricing to be significantly different between stores - not sure if its a store by store thing within a state or because we traveled out of state to Total Wine in Palm Desert - Vueve was literally $8.00 less per bottle - significant difference (38.47). Read fine print on coupons that offer 15% off for 6 mix and match; it can't end in a 7 but those prices as I said are already rock bottom. If I was a local I'd want more consistency between stores, but as a traveler - love when I'm visiting a town to see a local Total Wine. Need more in New York! We travel a lot and Total Wine is always one of our first stops when we get where we are going. Every other Total Wine in all other locations, 5 star. I would give this one -5 if I could. Not only is it small, over crowded, dusty and has boxes in the aisles, there is no one to help you find anything in the crammed together mess, when you do find someone, they are clueless about their products. The registers always seem to have people training and thee trainers are often rude to the customer and downright mean to the trainees. On one of our trips over Christmas my 70 year old husband was refused his purchase because he didn't take his wallet, just took some cash, and couldn't prove he was of age to purchase alcohol! I am dead serious! We travel to Scottsdale every few weeks to visit our kids, Fry's will be our soul provider of wine, beer and spirits from this last trip forward. Another bad experience! Customer service is deplorable! This is the second bad experience we had with rude employees! The aisles are congested, they were out of stock on Buffalo Trace but were trying to up sell to a product double the price! The products were to heavy for me to carry - as my 18 year old son tried to help me they said that was unacceptable because he wasn't 21! Yet they had no one to help me! The manager was so incredibly rude to me. Went in to buy a gift card for my parents for Christmas. They asked for my ID and I said oh I'm just buying a gift card not buying alcohol. And he freaked out yelling at me saying I can't even be in the building and told me to leave right away. I've never experienced anything like that before. I am still in shock. While Total Wine's selection is absolutely unquestionably phenomenal, from wine to beer to liquor, I find it difficult to locate specific bottles of wine. For all you wine snobs out there who spent a semester abroad in France and are turning your noses up at me, I'll remind you that most of us who like wine aren't connoisseurs, and our average wine intelligence is what should be catered to. Now that I got that off my chest, let me comment on the service. At best, it is inconsistent. I'm in there a lot (A LOT!), and it's normal for me to walk in past three managers doing whoknowswhat without eye contact or a greeting. Then I walk alllll the way to the very back of the store to grab that choice little 6-pack I've been thinking about, passing two more employees, and not a word! Am I intruding?!? Should I come back at a better time? Perhaps when the economy isn't doing well and they really need my hard-earned discretionary income? Wait...they do need it. Anyway, then I am ambushed with a surprise hello as I turn the corner and end up dropping whatever was in my hands. I will say their prices overall are hard to beat and that is certainly why I tolerate their service. I have noticed a lot of price increases on things I buy regularly, like the Blue Moon 22oz bottle, which went from $1.89 when the store opened to $3.78! I simply don't buy it anymore. I know businesses are doing what they can to stay alive, but man, that's brutal. If I could do half-star ratings I'd give Total Wine a 3.5, but until their service improves across the board, they're just another warehouse liquor store with a great selection. read more

I went into this location for the first time yesterday to pick up a few bottles of wine as holiday gifts. An associate asked if I needed help which I at first declined but then asked for his help with a wine name I could not remember. He felt the need to make chat about how he can drink one bottle of wine by himself and will be drinking tomorrow as it is his day off as my conversation remained on describing the bottle and label. Throughout he is leaning in and I start walking the other way looking for this bottle when he catches up to me and leans in and asks 'do I ever read a label and get dirty thoughts?' I have never entered a store and left so quickly due to the huge lack of professional, extreme inappropriateness and the fact that he felt this conversation was ok and wanted when I never engaged and kept the conversation on the reason I came in and told him what he said was inappropriate. Luckily I had a great experience at BevMo where they not only helped find the wine I was asking about but helped with the remainder of my list while keeping it professional. read more

Over the years we have enjoyed our experience at Total Wine. However, as of recent the customer service has deteriorated quite a bit. Customer service failure #1. We reserved two kegs for a wedding this weekend and when we arrived to pick them up the lady said she did not have a reservation for us, and she was kind of snooty about it. After looking in the back they had both kegs with a big sheet of paper with our names on them. Customer service failure #2, no apology for being snooty. Both of the taps for the kegs had issues. One would not hold pressure at all and the other required us to pump like crazy. When we returned the kegs I mentioned it to the gentleman at the service desk, more just so he would know. Customer service failure #3, he grunted at me (yes, I said grunted) and handed my deposit receipt back to me he then told me "go to the cashier". I sure felt like I was an inconvenience to him. These guys have a great model and we enjoy purchasing from them. However, if the customer service does not improve we will certainly take our dollars where they are more appreciated. read more

I absolutely love this place! They have a great selection of imported beers (it's always fun to try something new from different countries), and an excellent selection of wine! My favorite part is the wine tasting on weekends, where you get to try a wide selection of wines before buying (and if you buy what you tasted, you get a discount on the bottle!). The staff has always been very friendly, and will help find any wine you are looking for (and if they don't have it, give you some recommendations on bottles they have in stock). The only reason that I did not give them a 5 stars, is because last weekend I arrived at the store 7 minutes after their scheduled stop time for the wine tasting, and they wouldn't let me try any of the wines they had out (they had not put any away yet, and I was the only one in the store wanting to try the wine - would it really hurt to stay open an extra 5 minutes so I could taste before buying?). It was disappointing because I go there every week to buy wine, and I look forward to trying something new (which I don't like doing without tasting it first). read more

Total wine is a big box place w tons of stuff to drink and pretty much anything you want I never find it overly friendly and their check out leaves much to be desired. My first visit, I just wandered the aisles thinking, "Where's the Runquist Z or the Seghesio Home Ranch?" and not finding them. But what I did find back toward the end of the store was an entire section of PETITE SIRAHS!! You know, the varietal that most stores have only one or two of? There were at least 15 different PS's-- including the David Bruce (my fave) and Markham (also good). I'm not going to tell you what else I found, because I want there to be some still on the shelf when I go back tomorrow (wink-wink!). read more

i just had the most unpleasant experience while talking to the manager of this store. i returned 2 bottles of wine that were not good. i didn't know the return policy, and when i walked in i told the manager that i had never returned wine before and asked him to explain the process. He treated me and spoke to me like i was homeless trying to hustle some wine. had he asked me for my customer number, he would have seen that i have been a good customer for years, with a substantial number of customer points that are accumulated by purchasing. he would have also seen that i have never returned a single bottle of wine to Total Wine. i asked to see the return policy. there is no posted return policy. i asked how i was supposed to know their policy. He had no direct response. The manager needs to be replaced by someone that understands the goal of the Total Wine retail business and the value of the customers. Every customer should be accorded courtesy. there are lots of total wine stores in the community. i don't need to go to a store where my patronage is not appreciated. read more
