I ordered a slab of ribs from Grubhub for me to pick up. The ribs were of good size and looked tasty. I went with the dry rub choice, but unfortunately for me, the rub was too spicy to enjoy. I removed the top layer and it the meat was good. I think next time, I will try to get a slab with sauce on the sides. Even though I didn't eat all of the ribs, out of 6, 3 were more than filling. The Macaroni was delicious with bacon bits and cilantro. The ribs themselves were under two pieces of toast, but I didn't get to try the toast because it made the toast soggy. As my second side, I chose fries. The fries are waffle style, but I didn't like them at all. After trying 3, I just stopped eating them. Though my experience didn't leave a great first impression, the service was friendly and I can't blame the restaurant for me not liking spicy food. I knock down 1 star for the fries, but when I try them again, I will definitely try the other meat choices.

Driving through Nashville, we were in the mood for BBQ and they were open. So why not? From the outside they don't look like much but inside was nice no frills... typically all good signs for a BBQ joint. And true to their name, they were fast. Good sit down without being held up a long time. I ordered the wings combo with slaw. It was delicious! The wings were smoked just right, juicy and tender. The slaw was definitely house made and was the way I like it. My mom had the pulled pork sandwich with fries. She said the fries were just like chick-fil-a (high Praise). I snuck a bite of pork - good flavor, not fatty or too dry. Just right. And not swimming in sauce! Dad did the combo platter of pork and brisket. He couldn't decide which he liked better... he kept tasting until he had none left. The star though... sweet tea for $1.50! it was yummy and just the right amount of sweet. We'll be back next time we're in Nashville.

THE BEST!! So far Toto's has been the best barbecue we have had here in Nashville!! The ribs were so delicious and so tender that they fell apart to the touch! Brisket was very tender and juicy and melts in your mouth. The flavor of the meats were unbelievably good, I just couldn't believe how good it tasted. Now on to the sides. We had the potato salad, Mac and cheese b cause no barbecue meal is complete with Mac and the charro beans. The Mac had cilantro and bacon bits and that combo is great, the overall flavor was absolutely amazing!! This is going to be my go to spot when I come into town.

Don't let the outside fool you, it might look like some small restaurant starting out but the food and customer service will sweep you off your feet. I was just driving by trying to find somewhere to eat and I saw this little restaurant with the cute little pig logo. I wasn't expecting anything special since it wasn't as crowded as the rest of the places here in East Nashville but bruh let me tell you. This place is slept on, customer service was on point, the atmosphere was lax and I didn't feel rushed at all. The food comes quick and man the brisket here is Amazing, literally melt in your mouth. I ordered the brisket burger and if I didn't have to go back to work I would've probably ordered a second one. I'm telling y'all, don't sleep on this place, bomb food that won't break the bank Also you know it's good since I didn't even expect to leave a review. I forgot the to take a picture of my meal but the staff and owner really deserves to be put on the map based on their service and how great the food is.

We were in town and wanted to find a good BBQ place. Read the yelp reviews and decided to check our Toto's BBQ Express. We were greeted by some friendly faces. We ordered the pork spare ribs, brisket, beef rib (one), and some sides. I'm a huge fan of mom and pop type shops and wanted to give this place a higher rating. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't up to par. The brisket was slathered in bbq sauce, and it didn't have a smoke ring and did not have a smoked flavor consistent with BBQ. The pork spare ribs were tender but again didn't have a smoked bbq flavor to it. The beef ribs was good but at $20 a rib, I was expecting more. Don't get me wrong the meat were tender but it didn't have the usual smoked smell or flavor. It reminded me of BBQ meat smoked in an electric smokers (not pellet style). Overall, food was just okay but I wouldn't come back for the food.

Pulled pork tacos and potato salad

This is a barbecue joint unlike any other in East Nashville. They specialize in the usual southern smokehouse staples but with a south of the border twist. I'm no purist when it comes to barbecue or its sides, but most of the time when people start mucking with things I find myself wishing they'd left well enough alone. That is not the case here. I got the pulled pork tacos with potato salad. The tacos were delicious in corn tortillas that seemed like they could have been homemade. They came with two sauces. One was a green, avocado based sauce and the other was a sweet, vinegar based bbq sauce. Both were great and I doused my tacos liberally. The potato salad was surprisingly spicy and I loved it. I would go back just for the potato salad. My girlfriend got the brisket burger with mac and cheese. The sauce that came with the brisket was a thicker, more traditional barbecue sauce than what comes with the tacos but it was very good as well. The brisket was tender and juicy and the mac and cheese was good even though she opted to go without the bacon and cilantro. This is definitely a place to check out if you enjoy barbecue but especially if you're in the mood for something outside the ordinary barbecue joint.

Ribs, brisket and pulled pork with beans and Mac and cheese.

Had the 3 meat combo with ribs, brisket and pulled pork, with Mac and cheese and beans as the side. Let's start with the ribs they were tender fall off the bone good, however I am not a big fan of vinegar based sauces so that was a negative for me. The brisket was tender, however it didn't have much flavor or smoke taste. There wasn't much fat in there so that was a plus. My wife loved the pulled pork, so that was a win. She was also impressed with the baked beans, they had a little kick with them. The same could be said about the Mac and cheese, loved them.

What A cool place. I've been told time and time again to come by this place. Food quality was great. The chicken wings were cooked perfectly. The home run was the brisket burger. I totally give them an A+.

I'm so excited to finally try this place! The food was so bomb. First off, the the lady at the register was super friendly and greets you as soon as you enter the restaurant. The place is clean. I had the brisket burger which was juicy and flavorful with onions and Serrano peppers. The waffle fries were seasoned well and made fresh. I enjoyed the side of charro beans they had. I would highly recommend this place and I am looking forward to returning!

Word of mouth is that this establishment has some really good fried chicken. We decided to give them a try and the chicken did not disappoint! It was cooked to order, great size (bc I hate big or enhanced chicken) hot & crispy and full of flavor! For my side item I got the Mac n cheese which was topped with bacon bits and cilantro. I wasn't a huge fan of the Mac and cheese. My husband got potato salad as his side. I'm very picky about potato salad, although it didn't look like I would like it, the potato salad actually had a lot of flavor and was pretty good! He also got brisket bc who doesn't like a good cut of brisket. We requested 1lb of brisket. Well, we did not enjoy the brisket. It had zero flavor and clearly wasn't smoked. Maybe cooked in the oven or pressure cooker. So disappointing I was expecting smoked flavor and seasoning. It came with a sauce which it definitely needed. So once we got home we drowned it in the sauce and warmed it up to eat. I will say it was very tender, which leads me to believe it was oven baked/pressure cooked which sucks bc they had a grill fired up outside. They have a lot of options on their menu but I think I'll stick to the fried chicken. The establishment was clean with plenty of seating. We were the only customers with two people coming in to place or pick up an order. Price is reasonable. I will definitely return but only for the fried chicken!

For the longest time, Bringle's was my absolute favorite in town, but Edley's may have just managed to take the crown. I almost feel like I'm cheating on Mr. Bringle by saying that, but as he famously put it, "You don't have to hate somebody else's barbecue to like mine." My default order at any top-tier joint is either a brisket plate or a multi-meat combo platter with brisket as the anchor. Edley's plates come properly equipped with two sides and a slice of cornbread. Where they really set themselves apart, though, is the menu flexibility: -The Add-Ons: You can throw on a $5 upcharge to add an extra 3 oz of meat or a jalapeño cheddar smoked sausage. -Burnt Ends: Edley's offers burnt ends, which is a bit of a rarity in town and something you don't easily find over at Jack's or Bringle's. If they're available when you order, grab them. Price-wise, Edley's isn't cheap, but it's far from overly expensive. It sits at fair market value, costing roughly what you'd pay for a comparable meal at any of the other major players in Nashville. The meats are high quality, wonderfully smoked, and packed with deep flavor. Beyond the rare burnt ends, the sauces here are what truly elevate the meal. Across the board, Edley's house sauces--from their classic red to their white sauce--are probably my personal favorites in the city. Between Jack's, Bringle's Smokin' Oasis, and Edley's, you genuinely cannot go wrong--Nashville barbecue is in great hands. But right now? Edley's holds my top spot. It is my ultimate "treat yourself" meal in town.

After all, can you imagine having digestive problems while playing hockey? I love barbecue so I thought I'd try this place. I walked in and it wasn't at all busy at 5:32. However when I finished my order, the line was out the door. I asked the cashier what was good and the manager (maybe owner) walked over and I asked him. I wanted ribs or brisket, but needed a 2nd opinion. He said he would choose brisket because theirs is USDA Prime and he would put it against any other barbecue restaurant in Tennessee. Those are some bold words. So I ordered the brisket platter (fatty portion) with green beans and cinnamon baked apples. What I received was 3 good sized portions (1/2 pound) of fatty brisket. The meat was tender, melt in your mouth without an overbearing amount of fat clumped together. The bark was salty and very peppery. It was actually good enough to eat without a sauce. Speaking of, there was only one sauce on the table, so I used that. It was a sweet sauce, definitely honey-based but not overly sweet like other honey-based sauces I've had in the past. The thing is I love everything honey-related, so I would definitely buy this to take home. It was so good, I was scavenging for brisket fibers on my plate. So I praised the brisket but I think the shocker was the green beans. These were hands down, the best green beans I've ever had...ever. Salty, tender, peppery, with chunks of meat and fat, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Who would have thought that a side could be that good? Last but not least, the Cinnamon Baked Apples. I love baked/fried apples. Something about the tart and sweetness brings me back every time. The apples were soft, but not mushy. I would have liked them to be a little more tender and more slices of apples. I think there was more sauce than apples but nevertheless, they were great. Overall I'm glad I visited Honeyfire for the first time. I'm here often (near Bellevue) so I'll definitely be coming back again and again.
