Stopped by here yesterday and it was definitely a new experience. The place gets crowded fast, we went around 8am and people were in and out, steady flow of customers. I got coffee (serve yourself) & a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with cream cheese and jelly. The coffee was good, but the bagel was meh. Nothing that stands out for me , I found the bagel hard and unappealing. The bagel was chewy, but NOT in a good way and it was cold when I received it like it was never toasted even though I asked for the bagel to be toasted. The service was no different from the bagel, while we were paying the coffee filters needed to be replaced and the cashier asked the other worker to refill them. The guy stomps out of the kitchen area and goes "Why do I have to make coffee? This is not my job." They went about it for a few minutes until the cashier got tired and said "Forget it then, don't make coffee." Mind you they're yelling at each other like there's no customers around. Uhm is this a business? Your arguing about who needs to make coffee? I think I will skip the bagel and the free show next time. read more

This is one of the oldest bagel places in the area, and the food taste like it. When i walke in to place my order the person wrote it down on a container and gave me a ticket for my order, wtf? It's not like this place was busy, and now i know why. I ordered a simple bagel with bacon, eggs and cheese. The bagel was rubbery and for a whole wheat bagel way to salty. They sell other stuff such as newspapers, milk, beer, etc. Prices were slightly high and the employees are snobby and not very friendly or trustworthy. I also paid for a plain bagel and the cashier asked me 3 times if there's anything on it and each time i said no! Unbelievable!!! This store is out of control with the amount of people that are inside most of the customers have no masks on and the people cooking your food also don't wear masks. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Never as a paying customer, have i been treated as rudely and disrespectfully as i was treated at this store. The older woman at the counter treated me in such a way that i have never been treated before. Between there being no formal line or check out, I was scrutinized for coming up to the counter to pay after someone let me go ahead of them leading me to believe i was next in line. She completely disregarded the fact i was there, not giving me the courtesy or decency to inform me that she was going to ring someone else up first .... again there was no formal line. The WORST part was she called me an entitled millennial telling the person she was ringing up what I did or said nothing to warrant such treatment. I also asked simple questions such as "is this cash only" and "can i have a bag" giving me the rudest response that she "wasn't finished stapling my receipt and that she's getting to it". The younger woman who took my order was soooooo nasty, I let it slide because it's 11:45am and I figured she was probably tired from being there since before sunrise. But what made this my last visit here was the old nasty woman at the register. I ordered a mini bagel with a slice of cheese for a 2 year old and 2 egg sandwiches so they wrote the price in it. When she went to ring in the mini w a slice of cheese that was marked $1.50 she had a fit how they do things at that location so she obviously was not from this location but she made it such a big deal that it was embarrassing! Tottenville bagels is one the best bagels stores i have ever been too. First off the bagels are hand rolled. everything is fresh, because this store is so busy you will never get anything thats not fresh or stale because the bagels are made there and are bought like crazy. saturday and sundays the place is packed, you need to get the bacon egg and cheese!!! amazing. the everything bagels are my favorite! Chicken salad and tuna salad out of this world. all the sandwiches are packed with meat they are HUGE! the bagels are also hugeeee. I have also received catering from there as well, which was awesome. Great Italian heros! I live in the neighborhood so I got to know the owners. Bagel stores are busy, I have no issue waiting patiently, When you go into a bagel store on a Saturday you expect it. What you don't expect is to get reprimanded by the woman working. I stood patiently while sandwich phones orders were taken, I stood patiently when deli orders were taken with two people behind deli counter knowing the deli is separate..... The woman helping at register walked right by me to deli adding now a third person to deli and took a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel order - I said, excuse me I was next...... Guess that was the wrong sentence . She snapped "did you hear me say bagels? I SAID can I help anyone with a deli order - he is the one who answered me "!!!! I just turned and walked out - I was there for a bagel not an argument.....
