(4/5) Let me start with this: The French Room is that girl. She's classy, dramatic, beautiful and a little high maintenance. The Food: The tea service is stellar. Everything comes out looking like a Pinterest board in real life. The finger sandwiches are fresh, the scones are warm and actually taste good (not dry and crumbly like some places), and the desserts? Dangerous. It feels indulgent in the best way. You leave full but still thinking about that one pastry you should've grabbed two of. The Vibe: The vibe is stunning. Grand ceilings, gorgeous décor, very "main character at tea in Europe" energy. It feels special the second you walk in. This is why we host our annual mother-daughter tea here, it's the kind of place that makes memories feel a little more magical. The Service: Once you're there, the service is great. Attentive, polished, and kind without being over the top. They make you feel taken care of. Why 4 Stars Instead of 5: Booking. The. Reservation. Why do I have to call like I'm trying to win concert tickets in 2003? You have to call... and call... and call again. I leave messages. No callback. So I just keep dialing until someone finally answers. For a place this elevated, the reservation process feels unnecessarily chaotic, especially when you're planning something special. That said, once you're seated with a teacup in hand, you almost forget the struggle. Almost. Still one of my favorite spots, just be prepared to work a little for it. ‍

Non alcoholic prosecco. It was so good, I had to get a pic of the bottle !

The food, service, ambiance, and overall experience was absolutely amazing. Worth the money. Great experience would absolutely recommend.

Amazing breakfast! Service was phenomenal! They were very attentive and made my boys feel special and cared for. The star of the show was the espresso martini and the eggs Benedict. The eggs Benedict had Wagyu beef inside. The eggs Benedict was served differently than any way that I've had it before and I loved it. Everything was classy and delicious! Drinks were amazing for the most part! I wasn't a fan of the initial old fashion that I had but the second was just how I liked it. The bar was decorated beautifully and we were able to have a drink by the fireplace

We had a really nice time at the holiday tea. They are very well trained in keeping your service running smoothly to ensure you are done in almost exactly 2 hours. I am a vegetarian so I got a slightly altered menu from both the vegan menu and the regular menu, but each item was very tasty and I managed to be very full afterwards. It's really beautiful inside and was still decorated in January. The only issue we had was they charged one person in our parties card twice and mine not at all but we later figured it out and settled it amongst us.

This place is nothing but wonderful. Food, service, ambience are top notch. It can be compared with the library afternoon tea in Edinburgh library but at a fraction of the cost. Parking is expensive. I bought a bag of tea upon departure, as a regular tea drinker, I assure you that they use quality tea. We ordered vegan and regular version, both are great. Ambience: 5/5 Food: 5/5 Price: 5/5 Service: 5/5

Finally made it with some girl friends to the fabulous French Room! You feel so special as soon as you step in to the beautiful surroundings. Impeccable decor and ambience, attentive and thorough staff. The tea & savory course was perfect with a light tea flavor with perfectly delicious bites. The sweet course had a richer & lightly smoky tea that highlighted the various rich and decadent desserts. Add ons are an option from caviar to salmon. The best experience for a special occasion. Felt like a vacation on a Thursday. Definitely a special foodie highlight!

Had a lovely afternoon tea here with a large party for my wife's birthday in September, 2025. Everything was excellent. The service was attentive and professional, and both the savory and sweet courses were fun and tasty. The kids even had their own menu. The hotel is a beautiful space with many photo opportunities. Everyone had a lovely time as we made some lasting memories together.

We came here for their Cherry Blossom tea and everything was so cute! The French Room is located in the Adolphus Hotel. There is valet parking and you have to mention that you're eating at the French Room when you park. The parking is $12 for the whole day. Everything is digital when you're parking so you text the number when you are ready to pick up your car. They park it in front of the hotel. The French Room is at the very corner of the hotel but the front desk can direct you to where it's located. The service was very good. They sat us very quickly and they offered champagne when we sat down. We had the three course Afternoon Tea. The first course was the savory course with sandwiches, the second course were the scones and the last course were the pastries. They even explained the different teas that came along with the courses. Overall, the food tasted very good, but for $75 per person you're going for the experience and service.

The review is for the French Room Bar (open until midnight). We stayed at the Adolphus Hotel so we went to the bar for a nightcap. Our bartender was amazing. The drinks were sophisticated and delicious. We very much enjoyed the drinks. The banana cake drink was served with a small slice of banana bread. We really loved the banana bread and asked if they sold it. The bartender told us they have a bakery downstairs that provides all the baked goods for the French Room and the cafe and gave us a complimentary slice. Amazing vibes. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic. A 20% tip is included in the bill but I gave extra because the service and drink/food were all amazing. 100% recommend.

I had such a lovely experience enjoying afternoon tea at The French Room! The ambience is absolutely beautiful -- elegant, calm, and perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Our server, Carlos, truly made the experience exceptional. He was incredibly knowledgeable and gave such an in-depth historical background on each of the teas we tried. You could tell he was passionate about what he does, and it made the whole tasting so much more special. He was also very prompt, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. The tea selection was wonderful (I love Oolong and Darjeeling), the food was delicate and well-prepared, and the overall experience felt refined without being stuffy. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a classic afternoon tea in Dallas -- and if you can, ask for Carlos!

Just had holiday tea at the French room. Talk about an amazing experience. I highly recommend it for families of all ages. Our server Carlos was amazing and knew every fact about tea you'd ever want to know. So much fun and so much holiday magic.

Cute place to have a tea party brunch. I was in town visiting and decided to gather a few of my friends together to catch up on life. The service was superberb. We had Mrs Connie who has been working there for 40hrs.

Gorgeous Afternoon Tea! Perfect for the Holidays! Ambiance & Service: Stunning interior with gold crown molding and chandeliers. Loved the live harpist! The service was impeccable--Connie and Carlos were exceptionally attentive and friendly! Food: The set menu includes one tea for the savory course and another for the sweet. Both the Chinese Yellow Tea and English Breakfast were fantastic! As a vegetarian, I received a plant-based savory menu with regular sweet items. Everything was delightful! Favorites: Pumpkin & Smoked Cheddar Muffin, Cinnamon & Currant Scone, and Poached Pear & Honey Tartelette. You'll absolutely leave full and completely satisfied!

Looking somewhere to host a bridal shower brunch, is this an option here? Is there a private room we can reserve?

    Yes

Any idea if they take walk-ins for dinner? The night we'd like to go doesn't have a reservation available until 9!

They usually are booked a couple weeks in advanced, so usually no. I would call ahead if I am you! Or check open table ☺️

I read somewhere that they've resumed afternoon tea service. Can't find any info on days/times/menu. Anyone attended tea here?

Yes! I have gone and it was great! It is $55 and they do it from noon to three Friday Saturday and Sunday's

Have they remodeled the restaurant and menu?

They did but service and quality have gone down. I went 4 weeks after they reopened and it was spectacular. I told some family about it and they went 12 weeks after reopen and EVERYTHING was horrible.

It's dark, moody, and effortlessly romantic, with a live pianist playing throughout the evening. It's the kind of place that feels intimate without being stuffy, perfect for a date night. The service was honestly some of the best I've had in Dallas. My water never dropped below two sips from full, the team was that attentive. It became amusing (in the best way) how on top of everything they were. Our waiter, Rene, was outstanding. He provided stellar recommendations from starters to entrées, drinks, and desserts. I trusted him enough to let him choose my glass of wine to follow my cocktail, and he nailed it. He also walked us through the menu in detail, which was incredibly helpful as first-time guests. The food absolutely delivered: * Shrimp St. Martins - Five jumbo de-veined shrimp in a rich, butter-like sauce that was decadent without being overwhelming. * Frisée Aux Lardon Salad - Rene thoughtfully split this tableside and served it onto individual plates. The dressing leans heavily Dijon-forward, so order accordingly if you're not a mustard fan. That said, the bacon was some of the best I've ever had: thick, slightly sweet, and perfectly cooked. * Sea Bass Ratatouille - Served over a tomato sauce, it was flavorful, well-balanced, and not too heavy. * Rack of Lamb - An extremely generous portion (which I happily helped my date finish). It was boldly seasoned and on the saltier side, which I personally loved, though I understand that may not be for everyone. * Affogato - A simple but perfect way to close out the meal. Between the romantic atmosphere, top-tier service, and excellent food, this is easily one of the better dining experiences I've had in Dallas.

Apparently it's a Dallas staple restaurant, having been around for more than 44 years, but it is now in a new location as of 2024. Starting from the moment you walk in you are enveloped in a very moody romantic French bistro. Just inside the front door you are greeted by the hostess. There's also a live piano player who plays live music at just the right volume. Tables are covered in white tablecloths with glowing candles. The booths are especially cozy! If you are looking for a romantic dinner spot this is your spot! The service here is on par and the food delicious! This particular night we started with the caviar service, then moved on to the mixed green salad. After that, honestly I was full so I just had Lobster Bisque for dinner while my husband had the lamb. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals, but were too full to move onto dessert, maybe next time!

Our group of 6 got there at 5:30, 15 mins early for our reservation, prior to the large crowd about to come in for the concert that night. It took 30 minutes to put 5 martinis on the table. Our food did not come out until 7:30 - almost 2 hours after sitting down. Tables around us were served before we were and finished and left before our food came out. Not once did a manager or our server George come check on us or tell us there was an issue. Every meal that we received was cold, but we had no other choice but to eat it due to how long it took and making it to the concert by 8PM. This was the night of the Andrea Borcelli concert and the restaurant was full. Management should have prepared for a busy night. My party was so excited to eat in the Polar Bear room and head to the concert. How does a Michelin star restaurant let this happen and then force us to pay 20% gratuity? I was a server for 10 years and I would never let this type of experience happen to a party paying $100 a person in food and drinks. This was hands down the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. Management - you need to really work on your guest service and experience. Such a disappointment.

The bartender repeatedly asked if I needed the wine list, but I politely declined, opting for iced tea instead. I accepted the complimentary bread with my lunch. For my main course, I chose the Salad Niçoise. As I sipped my iced tea, I noticed the second glass, also garnished with a lemon slice, was meant to be a refill-- warm tea only, no ice. This saved the bartender from leaving the bar. Later, he returned with the bread and its condiments. Despite not having napkins or utensils, the olive oil came with a spoon to mix the ingredients. I used this spoon to pour the oil onto the slices. When the Salad Niçoise arrived, I reminded the bartender that I needed utensils. He promptly grabbed napkin and utensils, but his distraction seemed to have lasted a while. Later, he mentioned that he had forgotten the salad dressing. Despite the restaurant's busyness, the bar remained relatively quiet. The bartender was not busy preparing drinks. There was even an opportunity for the manager and bartender to have a conversation about a customer, falsely believing the ambient noise would have muffled their discussion.

Oh man... what a let down this visit was for us…read more My wife and I have come here at least once a year for the past 3 years, and we've always loved this place. The food has always been great and the experience was something we looked forward to. That's why we chose to celebrate an early Valentine's Day here -- to avoid the crazy rush and the preset menu. But this time? Completely different experience. We got seated right away because of our reservation, which was great. It took a few minutes for the waiter to come by -- no big deal. I ordered an Old Fashioned and honestly... the bartender needs some help. It came out full of crushed ice and tasted watered down. I sent it back, and the second one was basically the same drink with more whiskey thrown in. At that point, I just let it go. Then things just kept going downhill. After about 20 minutes, we realized we hadn't gotten any bread. We asked the waiter and he said he'd check. Another 10 minutes go by and he comes back saying, "Still no bread," and drops off the wrong appetizer -- we had only ordered a salad. He takes it back, and it's another 15 minutes before our actual salad shows up. Still no bread. At one point, we could literally see him arguing with someone in the back about why we didn't get bread yet. Not exactly something you want to watch during a date night. The food, when it finally came out, was delicious. No complaints there. But it took forever. By the time we were eating, it was about 45 minutes until closing... and we had gotten there two hours earlier. Then comes the payment situation. The waiter brings the check back and casually tells me I gave him two credit cards and he "just picked the brighter one." I look down and he had handed me someone else's credit card while mine was still sitting in the book. That's not a small mistake. Overall, it just felt unorganized and sloppy this time. I don't know if they're short staffed or just getting too busy for their own good, but it was disappointing, especially for a place we've genuinely enjoyed in the past. Hoping it was just an off night... but it definitely made us think twice about coming back.
