Came in for our needed Day fix. Am surprised they had a whole lot of baked goods selections available and they all looked delicious. We even saw some baked pizzas, my husband didn't hesitate to try one but he was worried that he would have to try it cold. Maybe they will warm it up if we ask and sure thing, cashier rang us up and happily warmed it up for us. He also got himself an Almond Croissant, Chocolate Croissant they had ran out for the day. I used to come here a lot but haven't been in a while! I decided to stop by here for a matcha and breakfast/snacks and it's just as good at it was since the last time I visited a while back! I came in the morning on a weekend when it had been open for a couple hrs and it was kind of busy but my drink came out relatively quick, everything was fully stocked, and it was super clean inside! There is lots of seating available and the layout is very open so it's a good place to study or catch up with friends. What I ordered: -Curry Pan: This is my go to order every time I come here, it's actually the reason why I love this place so much! The slight crispness is a nice contrast to the softness of the bread. The curry is so flavorful and is complimented well by the sweetness of the bread. You've definitely got to try this!!! -Garlic Cheese Croissant: I saved this for later and heated it up in a toaster oven and it was perfection! There was a slight sweetness to it that was so good in addition to the savoriness of the garlic and cheese. No one flavor overpowered the other, they all worked together in harmony. I especially loved the crunchy cheese that hung off the croissant as well! -Iced Honey Lavender Matcha Latte: This was okay, I'm honestly not a huge fan of lavender but wanted to give this a try. It tasted too herby or plant-like to me with the lavender, I should've just gotten a plain matcha latte. I also kind of wished they mixed the honey in instead of just squeezing it along the cup because it looked messy and it took a while to mix and dissolve. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience with the food here! I wouldn't get the latte again but would give the plain matcha a chance. This place is such a hidden gem. It is like the better version of Paris baguette. Believe the hype! The bakery here is amazing. They have a great selection of singularly packed pastries. They have a wide variety of sweet and savory pastries. My favorite is the chocolate croissant. It's buttery, flakey, and full of flavor. They also have the best French macarons. The birthday cake, red velvet, and salted caramel flavors are the best. They pair perfectly with their iced coffees. If you're like me and love going to local coffee shops, you have to try this place! I finally tried their chocolate cake and it was amazing. It's moist, full of flavor, and definitely worth the price. It's always pretty busy when I come in here but the workers are fast and are able to serve the line quickly. Rethink Quality. Their Butter Cream Milk Soft Bread is very good and I have been craving for pastries with whipped cream. However, it didn't sit very well in my stomach after eating one (mainly stomach inflammation/gas) so I went online to check their nutrition facts on their website. I found out there's 4g of Trans Fat in each roll, the Bulgogi Sausage rolls have 1g for three rolls and the Yuzu Pie has 6g each. I'm not a health nut but try to avoid trans fat whenever possible because they add up (google what they are if you don't know). Trans fats have been banned in CA since 2020 and many fast food chains have since removed them from their preparation. To me, trans fat and quality don't go together, so I'm extremely disappointed that a fresh bakery would still choose to use trans fat especially a whopping 4g and 6g per bread roll! read more

10/1/2022 EARL GREY LATTE CAKE Let me say this first. I'm an Earl Grey Tea fan. Earl Grey Tea is MY FAVORITE of all teas! Read on to see what I wrote on this "Earl Grey" cake. First impression: Tastes like brown sugar boba. No joke! With overwhipped cream. Very overwhipped! This is not a fresh, made-the-day-of cake. However, the cake itself was moist.  Thankfully! The chocolate cake was delicious. I must give them that. BUT to go in and purchase this cake based on the flavor profile, it does not fit Earl Grey Latte. After a couple of more bites, it tastes like another popular tea that Asian people will be familiar with: CEYLON TEA. BUT Ceylon Tea is NOT Earl Grey Tea! Not sure what Tous Les Jours Bakery was aiming for when they thought of this cake. There are 5 layers of chocolate cake and in the middle there is one thin layer of caramel or tea concentrated ganache. The other layers have the Ceylon Tea whipped cream frosting and then the same whipped cream frosting all around the cake. Ceylon Tea flavor is the overwhelmingly strong flavor throughout this cake. I like Ceylon Tea, so I did not mind it. The whipped cream on top is supposed to remind you of milk foam on a cappuccino. Then you have that cocoa powder sprinkled on top. Which reminds you of tiramisu. Which is why they called it Earl Grey Latte Cake. Ironically, the cake flavor was CEYLON TEA! If you called it Royal Milk Tea Cake, that would make sense! And I know my teas! I'm a tea lover. I prefer tea over coffee any day. I get it. Tous Les Jours wanted to make a Earl Grey inspired dessert that reminds you of Tiramisu and Latte. Don't get me wrong, the flavors are good. The point is it is NOT made of EARL GREY TEA! The cake itself was $35. To pay $35 for a 6-inch cake that is not made fresh with overwhipped cream, the stiff cake collar around the cake has even taken off the whipped cream around the cake! (see pictures). It's unacceptable. The flavors overall saved it, but it was a lot of whipped cream for this cake! Glad I tried it once, but I'm good having tried it once. read more

I opted for the turkey avocado club with a vanilla latte. I can say that both items were worth the higher cost. the sandwich was stuffed with fresh slices of avocado, turkey, and bacon. I felt like the cost was worth it. The latte was sweet with the right amount of cream. Yummy location with lots of seating! Free Wi-Fi and many outlets on the walls for studying. Different groups of people, ranging from those who want to study, those who were hanging, and those who just wanted to try their breads! I ordered the assam tea which was a bit too sweet to my liking, but my boyfriend enjoyed it. We also ordered the strawberry "smootie" which was also delicious! Overall 5/5 for great service, welcoming ambiance, and delicious food. Another note, come early! We came an hour and a half before closing and lots of baked goods were already sold out. Being it's sort of self serve, you do the selecting but the staff is awesome with answering questions as well as preparing your coffee and teas. The pastries are great as well as the hot beverages. Their cloud cakes are also delicious as well. They rank pretty high up there in terms of Asian bakery. I say it's the best. Bread is the most superior compared to all the other Asian white breads. I can't comment on their drinks, haven't had it. But it's a one-stop shop to pick up cakes, pastries and breads for future in-laws or company events. It's going to impress even the elders who don't like sweets. Two things I don't like about it is they are pricey and their app is not very user friendly. Parking lot can be packed but no big deal, just park on the Optum side. Workers are professional and courteous. The cafe is always bright and spotless, decorated seasonally. I've been coming regularly, about once a week for the last year for their pastries and sandwiches BUT TODAY I tried their matcha latte and it blew me away. I had to come online and put y'all on. Pastries first, they're always so good and fresh. I'm not really a sweets person but everything is excellent. THE COLD SANDWICHES are, to me, the hidden gem of this place. Really crunchy and fresh lettuce, a light & sweet & savory spread, a fried egg and some bacon and tomato, this shop is my favorite to go and get a bakery sandwich. But today I tried the matcha and I was extremely impressed. The pumpkin matcha was so smooth, so creamy, and worked wonderfully together, I could taste the matcha itself as well as the pumpkin foam. I'm picky with matcha and I can't wait to go again tomorrow. Their matcha tastes high quality and it also could've been a combination of how good the barista made it. Wanted to write an update that I finally got to go to this bakery during the morning and they had a full selection of bread that I've never seen before. It must have been sold out by the late afternoons, which is when I used to go. My favorites for bread are the milk toast, pillow bread, and hot dog. It's incredible and SO SOFT and fresh. It does get busy on the weekends so make sure to be aware of that and come early if you would like to study. Even if you do not come so early, there are many spots to choose from. There is many items to choose from here, but my go to is the garlic cream cheese bread. Warned or not warmed, this savory and slightly sweet bread fills you up for the day. Beautiful new TLJ shop in Cerritos on the outskirts of the shopping center that houses a Ralph's. The inside is very nicely decorated with super high ceilings. Due to the pandemic, customers currently are unable to dine in. Like other Korean bakeries, you grab a tray and tongs and choose what you'd like from the display cases. I appreciate that they offer hand sanitizer and plastic gloves before you start your selections. The pastries and breads we've had so far have all been great. Red bean buns are generously filled and fresh, cloud cake slices are so light and airy, milk bread is soft and pillowy, and the garlic bread in the aluminum tins are addictive. They always have freshly made and beautifully decorated cakes and tarts in the cake display - you can purchase slices or a whole cake. I don't care for coffee, so I haven't had their coffee drinks, but the hubby loves their pumpkin spice mocha.
