Got a cake from here on Chinese New Year that was pretty looking, with fruit inside. It was overpriced, however, which is why I will never go back. A roundie cake for $30 where I can get better nearby for less (try Ara's Bakery on Chatsworth for a $25 that is larger) or better yet, Mey Fung (which I haven't tried yet, but am sure according to Yelpers provides a better deal) or Portos (mmm). read more

pretty good. i've gotten cakes from here twice and the first time it was just weird. it was the cloud cake but on the inside it had random fruit like grapes, cherries, and shit that i would never expect inside of a cake that looked so pretty on the outside. that was a huge disappointment. the second time was a lot better because it wasn't random fruit... but then there was barely any fruit in it? I'm not sure what the hell is going on, but all in all once the fruit was eaten (the 2 slivers of mango that was inside) it was still a very light and airy cake with a yummy whipped cream frosting. the reason why this place gets 4 stars instead of 3 is because of their sandwich bread. it is the most heavenly piece of bread you will ever eat... in fact, after having a slice.. you'll want to eat the entire loaf! read more

I ended up being so embarresed after serving a cake from this place at a Christmas gathering. It was supposed to be strawberry shortcake and it ended up being a cheap boxed cake mix with artificial frosting and two strawberries hidden in the middle of the cake. The reason I picked it was because I thought that as pretty as it looked, that it would be equal in taste. Villarta or Costco makes a far better cake for half the price, but I wanted something along the line of a "specialty" treat for this discriminating group...and for $37.oo I thought I would achieve this. HA!!! Somehow, politely, they (this group of ladies) intimated that I got SCREWED. When I went to purchase the cake, I AKSED THE GIRL to esplain the cakes to me and she said that the descriptions was on the board above, which I couldn't read because it was in small writing. I insisted for her to brief me what the fillings were. She gave me one word decriptions and then I gave up. It was Christmas and I wouldn't allow myself to get stupid. I know their culture is different as far as being outwardly friendly...well they sure displayed this NOT !!! They were calmly outwardly UNFRIENDLY. The KOREAN supermarket itself in which this bakery is, is right in step with the LACK of customer service or helpfulness with a smile. Certainly unwelcoming. So why do I go there?? They have the best extensive sake selection, certain spices one can only get there ..and the best snack foods-cookies and junk food treats ever ( a full isle)..and for ridiculous prices when they are on special. So, if you want to be left alone while you shop and paruse the the store...this is the place. No store employee will ever approach you. I like this place and keep going weekly. last week I ordered Chocolate Mousse cream cake but I got just beautiful design normal cake. Also they missed to add caption. The gilrs in the front are ridiculous and they don't care about customer service. When called to check on the cake they said this is how they make cake, if not interested then don't buy from here. Everytime I try something from this bakery, I always leave a happy camper. Their white loaf bread is really good! Probably the best that I've ever had. I know it's a loaf bread...but seriously, it's soooo soft! Sometimes I find myself eating the whole bag. Their minature cakes are sooo yummy and so cute especially the Tiramisu. read more

Tous Les Jous is fancier than your average Korean bakery. Something about how they package and present their goodies creates excitement. But truthfully, it all comes down to the taste, and in my opinion, their bakery goods just tastes average for me, if not, overly sweet. Now when it comes to pastries and cakes, I have a fairly high standard (my dad used work at a high end bakery), but I'd say Tous Les Jous can really 'decorate' a cake. But hopefully they lower the price a little bit and create some new pastries. read more

A cute little bakery located in the same building as the Galleria. They sell all sorts of delicious Asian pastries. I love all the breads! they serve coffee too. I got a lattes once and it was...OK. nothing to write home about. The macaroons are really good. The red velvet aren't amazing but the salted caramel ones are to die for. Eat them all!!!!! read more

Scrumptious, Korean pastries... Go in the morning, and you will have fresh tasting pastries, go later and you will get good pastries, the only difference is that, they will taste like they've been sitting out... The pumpkin "donuts" and the cloud cake are my personal favorites! read more

The pastries and cakes are beautiful-looking and the sweet potato cake and cloud cake are delicious but the price is so high for an Asian/Korean bakery. But I'm so used to super inexpensive cakes at an Asian bakery. And $30 for a moderate-sized cake isn't overly expensive. The pluses are that when you buy a cake, they put it into a cute box that isn't flimsy or pink and they also give you cake and candles without cost. read more

I stumbled upon this place on accident on my way to the post office inside the store (total goldmine by the way, no line ever!). Anyways, I love love asian bakeries and I just moved here so I had no idea where to go. So happy I found this place the baked goods are so fresh and yummy! I love the chocolate croissants, cinnamon twists, all the cream filled stuff and fresh bread! I always go crazy there and buy way too much. Everything is 1-2 dollars each and the bread loafs are $4/5 I think. I'll definitely stop by again when I'm round. I need to try the cakes next! They looks amazing. read more

I was hosting Chinese students and wanted to find foods that they would enjoy. This bakery is in a big Asian market. The breads rolls and deserts are individually wrapped. The students enjoyed them and so did I. They have a big selection of baked goods. read more

I am writing a bad review for the first time due to the poor customer services. I had been coming to this bakery whenever I was nearby. But the cashier (noon shift on Sunday 1/21) really provided unpleasant customer services with her poker face. She did not greet nor had any intention to help customers. You can't really compare Korean style cake to others because the density and sweetness factor. It's a whole different animal. Korean cakes are light, fluffy and not sweet. Whereas other cakes such as PORTOS is meant to be heavy and ultra sweet. I don't like the sweetness overdone so I get my cakes from Korean bakeries. The downside or eating Korean cake all the time, I know how it's suppost to taste like and sometimes I can tell the cake is old. At first I wasn't sure if they had just made a bad batch or dryass cake, then I figured that They simply change the top fruits/decor and voila! New cake! So yah, the shadyness of it all makes me angry because it's embarrassing when you take an old ass cake to a party and announce 'it's Korean cake, Korean cakes are the best!'. So when you order a cake from a Korean place make sure you look at the cashier in the eye and ask if this cake is old. She will always say it was made this morning, then tell her if it's not light and fluffy that you will come back and make her eat it. read more

Worst service ever. A young female employee was playing on her personal phone for at least 5minutes in the back. When she saw me, I asked for help, she ignored me. When she was done playing on her phone she put out some baked goods. Then came to ring me up. Didn't even even say hello or how can I help you? I often dropped by TLJ to buy pastries in the past due to the convenient location and decent pastries but no more. I was turned off by my recent experience and TLJ lost a repeat customer and a potential customer as well. I took my coworker to TLJ to introduce her to Korean food and culture and I was going to buy my coworker a coffee and pastry. When my coworker got her coffee, the cashier gave her some cream and she asked for sugar. He said that it was at another counter so we went there and there wasn't any sugar left. When we asked the cashier for sugar again, he said that there was no sugar and didn't even offer to check in the back for more. My coworker asked for a refund so that I can get money back and because she needs sugar in her coffee, but the cashier said that he can't do that because the coffee left his hands. We didn't even leave the store and if that was TLJ's return policy, shouldn't he have made sure that sugar was available? During his shift shouldn't he be making sure that all the accoutrements are available? WHAT KIND OF BAKERY AND COFFEE PLACE DOESN'T HAVE SUGAR? TLJ is next to a market -- couldn't he have asked his manager to pick up some sugar? I was so flabbergasted that I couldn't think straight enough to ask for a manager to file a complaint, which is my biggest regret. We ended up leaving the shop and all I could think was "Why would I go here instead of Starbucks?" and I am sure that my coworker felt the same. It made me so embarrassed and all I could think of was that this was a terrible impression to leave on someone about Korean culture and people. read more
