We purchased white choco cake #2 yesterday for our daughter's birthday. Bottom of the cake had all these black molds all over. Honestly, who checks the bottom of the cake? We only found it by an accident. When we addressed it to the employee, she apologized and refunded us but wanted the cake back. I am keeping the cake because I will be reporting to the health dept. I was also told there is no manager and just an owner but he is in Korea so we will not hear from him for a week. Gross!! Though I lovingly refer to Tous les Jours as "Toilet Juice" this isn't a bad little Korean bakery. However, there are two reasons for the low rating: 1. Execution could be better. What I tend to enjoy about Asian cakes/pastries is that they're lighter and not as cloyingly sweet as their Western counterparts. But here? Holy crap, their sweet potato cake was like eating a leaden, heavy brick of sugar. It was as rich as a traditional New York cheesecake, but in a bad way. Contrast that to Cake Town Garden in LA, a Korean bakery whose sweet potato cake is light, airy, fluffy, perfect with green tea, and cheaper. 1a. Overpriced -- not by Western bakery standards, but definitely by Asian bakery standards. It's alright for the Northridge area, but in LA there are better, cheaper options. read more

If you told me there's an Asian Bakery in town I would have booked it over there. If you told me there's a French bakery owned by Koreans, I would probably not have budge. But here is a sad tale of my unfortunate wallet who found his way to this bakery located on the side of a Korean market. I ordered this cake that was $30 something dollars. I have had this cake prior because my friends bought it for my birthday and it was pretty good but I had no idea how much they paid for it. So at least for this price I'm paying I would have expected it to be consistent and amazing. But nope. The frosting was really eggy and not consistent with what I had the last time. I also bought a couple of other HELLA overpriced bread that were not even mediocre at best. Only this morning bread priced at like $3.75 was on par with the bread quality I'm use to for the price I'm paying. My overall assessment is to take your money and go to other bakeries. Heck even Red Ribbon's cake for $20.00 which is much bigger and is consistently great tasting is better. If you want an even better cake, heck make your way to Burbank and take your money to Portos. BECAUSE I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN. read more

Not to hot on the service today at Tour Les Jours. I came in the morning around 10am and their shelf was quite empty with about a third of their normal selections. I thought it be a great idea to pick up some Korean pastries as a gift for someone. So i ask the cashier if she can pack the $25 worth of baked goods in a nice box because it was a gift. She proceeded with a plan brown box. I asked if she can pack it in their nicer designed cake box and i will pay extra for it. She didn't know how to respond and ask her fellow cashier for help. In return I got a stink eye and a "no, the nicer box is only for cakes." I guess it doesn't matter if I spent $25 or $100 on their pastries because they were stuck on cake box is only for cakes. Oh my goodness!! I love Asian pastries... because they're so yummy! I am actually really not sure why I love them... I just do. I grew up having red bean buns...and I still love them. Not sure why. I can actually never find the yellow bean ones... which sadly, they do not have here. Anyone know where I can find them?! Anyway, this place is adorable! It's adorned in darker woods and all the little pastries/breads are adorned on little wooden trays with mini written markers to describe whats inside and the price. It's a "french" based style set up... and it's definitely cute. I ended up getting several red bean ones... 2 regular and 1super red bean? Who knows what that means... It felt slightly heavier than the "original" one... so I'm guessing there is more filling in that one. Ahhh! Love! :) I actually couldn't contain myself and had to bust into one on the way home... it was delicious! :) Fresh, warm and yummy! I also have a red bean donut that I've yet to try and a sweet potato one.. yum! So they had 2 different red bean buns, a snowpea bun, a custard one, sweet potato (which I had to try - speaking of... I've been craving those southern bean pies... but I digress), cream filled bread and there were tons of others. They also had loaves of breads in addition to buns in similar flavors. Those look yummy! I will have to look into those. They had some adorable little mini pies... sweet potato and apple. They also had a red bean donut...which looks like a giant donut hole with sugar on the outside... it was warm when I picked it out... will definitely have to try that out! They also had a heated case in the back...with some croquettes. I believe there was a plain one...which I don't know if it was filled with anything... it didn't say. Then there was a tuna one... *yuck!* and there was a curry one... so... that's interesting. They also have a couple boxes of sticky rice sweets... which are tasty... if you've ever had those you know what I'm talking about... but I only saw boxes of these... not anywhere where you could buy them separately. Sad! Also, they had these 2 different display cases with cakes! Absolutely adorable! I swear... they were decorated adorably! I loved looking at them... they were so and I mean SO... SO... cute! The birthday one had these adorable little fondant-looking, realistic mushrooms and one had a panda and the other a hippo and a tiger. Too cute! There was also a kiss me cake...which was sprinkled with red flakes with what looked like an arrow made of chocolate going through it... and I think it was heart shaped? I'm not sure now... but it was absolutely adorable and the sweetest thing ever. And there were also these "cloud" cakes which were just adorably decorated. They looked like dollops of meringue (but I'm don't think it was) all around the edges... and covered with a sprinkling of powdered sugar to look like snow. I don't know.. everything was just so appealing. They really have perfected the decoration of these cakes. They looked gorgeous...and are much more "gourmet" looking than anything you see at a traditional supermarket, hell, I'd say even more so than a traditional bakery. They're adorable! When I was leaving I noticed that they also serve teas and coffees...but I think this place is probably all about the baked goods. Also, the Korean girls who work here are incredibly sweet...and they must be amazingly talented to create adorable cakes. As for the person complaining that this is not a French bakery... Hello! You're in an Asian market! If you're expecting French baked goods in a Asian market where everything is written in a different language... and it's not French... then you should take a hint. read more

So we all know now that it's not that they forgot to clean the trays, it's just that they do not want to clean them and then lie about it when asked. This place has a variety of breads, I'm honestly not sure where they are from since the name of the bakery sounds french but they have melon pan and Japanese items. I had melon pan which tastes just like pan dulce! So yummy and the sugar on top so crunchy. I also had milk bread which I really enjoyed it taste like cream cheese with soft and sweet bread super yummy. I also tried the honeydew popsicle it was pretty sweet but tasty it had a milky flavor to it. I'll definitely come here again to try some of the other stuff. I like this place - my cute younger cousin used to work here. But it's crammed inside the market in a small corner, and when it gets crowded, you just don't want to deal with the tiny aisles around the bread. This place has a more french take on bakery than other Korean bakeries do, so the breads are a bit more buttery/rich. None of the pastries here really stand out for me, and I've tried quite a few. Hence the 3 stars. I really love their CAKES though. They are the bomb shizzle, and totally beat the generic mocha cakes that, for some reason, every Korean family buys for every gathering (wtf??). FRESH. My faves: Milk soft, cheese rolls, and the chocolate croissant. Everything is baked fresh daily and you can literally smell, taste, and feel the love they put into each pastry. Quality is consistent. I've had a slice of their cloud cake, which just absolutely melts in your mouth. All other cakes look just as scrumptious. I would have given them 5 stars if they would stock up on their "best-sellers". I've walked in a few times just to grab some chocolate croissants (they're a family favorite) only to be disappointed with "sorry, we've sold out". Things here are overpriced, quality is okay, and the cashier needs to work on her friendliness and how not to be sloppy when handling beverages. I ordered a coffee and an iced caramel macchiato. When she closed the lid of the coffee, coffee splattered out and onto the outside of the cup and she didn't bothered to clean it up. A little tip to the cashier on making a caramel macchiato, might want to drizzle the caramel syrup all over the cup instead of dumping it all on the bottom of the cup. When she did that when I tried to mix the drink the syrup didn't mix with the drink at all. the syrup just got stuck to the bottom of the cup. Also, she took a straw unwrapped it and just threw it on the counter. Either, stick the straw into my drink after unwrapping it or let me do the unwrapping myself. I asked her for two creamers for the coffee and she just handed me one then proceeded to walk to back room. There needs to be an improvement in customer service skills. read more

Cute cute cute. And quite yummy. It took a while for me to get over ice cream cakes after having fallen in love with them in the 5th grade, but I've slowly come out of my shell and fallen back in love with non-ice cream cakes with the help of great bakeries like Tous Les Jours. I love that the cakes are not as sweet or heavy as standard store bought cakes. No, these angelic creations are surely crafted by the hands of master elves who create amazing decorations that pair with light, yet flavorful cake. If I need any kind of cake, this is my go to place in the valley. Plus, the packaging, the candles, and plastic knife make for a very nice touch when bringing it to a party - a welcome contrast to the plastic containers you'd get at a local market. I also have sampled quite a few of their other pastries and baked goods and have to say that if I lived any closer to this place I'd be ten pounds heavier. read more

Pros: Cheap, delicious food, lots of variety. Free samples! Cons: SO MUCH GARBAGE. All the stuff they carry is wrapped in so much plastic it would make a seagull explode. Also, the bag boy refused (or didn't understand) my request that I repeated several times not to use plastic bags; I'll use my back-pack thank you. I purchased many fruit cakes from this bakery. They're pricey but the cakes were delicious. However, for the last year I've purchased their fruit cake. The strawberries in the middle of the cake are going bad. The strawberries in the middle of the cake are purple in color and very soft. They used to use fresh strawberries but now are using old ones. They always use fresh strawberries on top of the cake but the middle ones are definitely bad. The cake itself is great. Very most and sweet. I prefer their cake then any other bakeries. But what ruins the cake for me is the old strawberries. I have now started to purchase my fruit cakes from a different bakery close by that uses fresh fruits on the outside and middle. The cake itself is not as good but overall better then Tous Les Jours since the fruits are fresh. read more

The also have delicious cakes here for birthdays or any occasions. Make sure to try their coffee as well. In any event, I went here looking for French pastries (because of the French name) only to find Chinese/ Korean baked goods: airy breads & cakes, some mochi (not a wide selection), and a lot of fried dough. I tried the pumpkin donuts (fried dough with a teaspoon of sweet pumpkin inside - it was mostly fried dough (very little filling). It's impressive how they can bake it so perfectly round - the size of a tennis ball - though it's almost hollow inside (just a little bit of pumpkin rattling around inside). In addition, I bought a few pastries including one with red bean. I must admit, I think this is just slightly better than what you get at Ranch 99's bakery. They're kind of expensive, and they don't usually have that great a selection. However we went to pick up a cake just the other day and I do have to say that the cake was excellent. It was perfectly creamy and just enough sweet without being cloyingly sweet. My family thoroughly enjoyed it. The cream is perfectly airy, the sponge was so moist. And they used fresh fruit and gave us a bunch of candles free of charge :). All in all a good choice for Asian cake. The hot dog pastry is so good. A little hot sauce and it's like a meal. read more

This bakery use to be my favorite. Until they hired this one employee who has made shopping there unpleasant. She's rude, unprofessional and I throughly believe she should not be working in customer service. I've had her roll her eyes at me, and speak to me in a monotone/condescending voice. It ruins my day. She's only worked here a couple months since I shop here three times a week but it puts me in a sour mood every time. She's on the bigger side , dark hair and short, always has a blank face and rarely smiles. She was working there this morning when I decided I will no longer be shopping here until they hire a new worker to replace her. Bought white cake with whipped cream and fruit on top for my mom's birthday. it was delicious and moist. Came back and bought 2 cakes for Thanksgiving: - tiramisu cake had no coffee flavor and very strong cream cheese flavor not mascarpone. I was informed tiramisu is frozen and to leave out 30min prior to eating. Left out for 2 hours prior and cake portion still hard, not moist at all. - white chocolate cake was also not good. A favourite destination when crossing back over into the Valley to visit my mom, "Tous Les Jours" should be renamed "Tous Les SURE!" as there's little amongst this Korean interpretation of a European bakery's assortment I wouldn't find my greedy lips approving. Pastries here run the gamut from light and fluffy to dense and significant (eat too many, and it will be your significant other for hours afterward), thanks to fillings made from red bean, chestnut and a variety of ingredients one could argue are "healthy" compared to their Western counterparts, all wrapped in recognizable exteriors, such as croissants and lightly sugared donuts. Flavoured creme spiral cakes are especially good accompanied with coffee or tea, while fanciful full sized cakes are paraded inside display cases near the register, offered for more formal affairs. But for those uninitiated in the tastes of Asian fusion baked goods, don't let these ingredients deter you from trying the desserts, as many of their best desserts are buttery-rich, less heavy handed with sugar, and immediately likable to a Westernized palate. A few others have noted that the prices are expensive compared to other Asian bakeries, but they forget this outpost of the KTown confectionery spot is located many miles north of competition, so the prices aren't all that bad all things considered. If you're going to complain about $1-$3 baked goods, I'd recommend heading over to Winchell's with your allowance and splurge away on .43 cent donuts, accompanied by the world's smallest violin (played by an accomplished 14 year old Korean violinist, of course), because this Valley boy remembers having to drive miles down southbound to get these sort of treats just 10 years ago. read more

Tried it at home and needless to say, won't be trying that cake again. Service was so-so. Cakes are somewhat overpriced. Very inconvenient. They do not accept credit or debit card if purchasing less than $10. Most places that have this requirement will at least charge a processing fee if there is absolutely no cash on hand. This establishment is ridiculous and does not care to lose customers. Inside the Korean galleria. If you don't want to drive all the way to an 85 degree bakery this is a good alternative. They have some of the same breads for about 2 dollars. They also have some cute moist cakes that come in different flavors. There's a dog shaped one, hearts, and various other ones decorated with fruit. I am allergic to butter & finding baked goods made without butter is really hard. Even though this place has a few baked goods made without butter, I like this place. I just went there today on 7/26. There were two cashiers. one male and one female. Both were eating something inside and came out only when customers called with chewing something in their mouths. And the male cashier had a really bad attitude when I came up to the front to pay. He literally gave me shitty face and looked like he really did not want to work. I experienced horrible service their today and im not going there again. To the owner, it is really gross and does not look good seeing a cashier comes out from back with chewing something. I have managed a restaurant for more than 10 yrs and that is one of the thing that servers should not do. read more
