We wandered in after having a stroll along the strand. We just wanted to chill with a bite and drink. We went upstairs to a packed bar area and were given a seat facing the walk. It was during the World Cup and there were lots of fans filling up the bars. It's fun watching the crowds. We ordered a tasty, crisp bbq pizza that a bit of spice, added with arugula. I enjoyed an ale on tap. This is a fun hangout if you can snag a decent seat. Make a reservation if you want a good seat

Girls trip means exploring the food scene of our surroundings ! A recommendation of a local guide we found ourselves here for sunset and late night bites. Great bar, seating inside and out. DJ set up mid meal and dropped some great throwbacks ! Great service and great bites between the shrimp and the chopped cheese outstanding !!! Def loved every part of this experience!

Yet another yummy dinner here. Awesome service food was great. Drinks were real good. The pretzel with beer cheese is best in town. Great bar area playing sports and everyone drinking and having a great time. Suck a nice place to have dinner at the beach, amazing sunset!! A+

Been coming for years. Just now making my review. Good food, good service and good drinks. Gets crowded on Friday nights and weekends. Weekends is fun with a DJ and all.

Superb sports bar vibes with enjoyable spacing to enjoy some company with friends! Had a good time. There wasn't any sport games playing when we came, the focus seemed to be on their music. I love the multiple sections and especially the theming of homey/cozy furniture on one section. It was my favorite. It was an absolute vibe and we even joined a group of people playing cards. The left side bar had a live band playing some classic rock music with a guitarist and drummer. Super loud and was overwhelming but the right side bar had a more quieter mood despite there being a DJ playing some music lol. I think I'd prefer ordering drinks from that bar instead! Other than that, lots of opportunities to sit as a large group or as a couple. Great balcony seating to watch and a plus while it was cold was some fire pits going on! - No outside food allowed - Not sure if there's an elevator for ADA, we needed to climb up a staircase to come inside as it's on the top floor! - Different genres of music played every day!

Treehouse type vibe.

You can distinctly tell which side is an older crowd and which is a younger crowd. Chill place. Love the outside views and fun treehouse feel. Lots of drinks to choose from. There was a spill on the floor that I also slipped and it was never cleaned up. That kind of s u c k e d. Everyone just walked over it.... Especially the staff. They check IDs at the front. You take stairs to get up to the bar area. Lots of space. It gets really packed. The bar tenders are very attentive and work quick to get you your drinks. Prices are reasonable to all but of the other places there. Good vibes. 4 stars ONLY because of the large slippery spill . Otherwise it would have been 5

I ended up coming here on the weekend to check out a brand pop-up for sparkling wine. It was very busy and crowded so if you can't handle the sports bar vibe this is not the place for you. Otherwise if you want a great location to watch the game with others with great drinks and food I highly recommend Tower 12. I ended up getting the Mac and Cheese and was pleasantly surprised that it was pretty good! It's not "homestyle" Mac and cheese but it was very creamy and I would definitely order it again! Honestly I kinda wished it was a bigger portion too because I wanted more haha. They have plenty of seating that faces the windows/outside so if you feel a bit claustrophobic you could actually sit there and feel fine!

Came here with my daughter and my husband for drinks. First time here for me; I knew the owner of the previous place when I lived here... Very chill surf vibe. Restaurant/bar is upstairs overlooking ( Hermosa) Pier Plaza. We didn't eat, just had a few drinks. Servers were great ( we came during a shift change). 6 days later I forgot what we drank but they were good!!!

Reviewing both daytime and night time, as the environment changes completely here! That said, this really is a Hermosa staple. I've been to Tower 12 a handful of times for brunch - food is always good, not too expensive and the service is great! Waiters are attentive but not annoying and it really is prime real estate right on the main strip of Hermosa. They have both a breakfast and lunch menu so you have options. We all opted for breakfast - I ended up with breakfast burrito (they make them with tater tots which is superior to standard potatoes imo) and my friends got French toast and the eggs Benedict. Everyone was very pleased with their meals! Pics attached. I went back for the first time at night for a friend's birthday in which I learned they turn into a full bar. While I had a ton of fun, I definitely prefer brunch. At night, there is a $5 CASH cover charge. I'm definitely a hater when it comes to cover charges, as if the bar isn't making enough on drinks.. but I digress. This is a cool spot - they have a DJ playing music, there's places to dance, places to sit, and just overall a good vibe. I'm taking away a star, just because the number of people they allow inside at once is a little concerning. I'm all for a poppin bar, but you really can't even walk two steps without being pushed or bumped by someone else. That all said, I would definitely go back! Just probably during the day instead, lol.

Only went for a cocktail and the view but friendly bar staff and beautiful Christmas martini. The upstairs faces the downtown bar strip of Hermosa beach so perfect for people watching with a fire and view

Super fun veranda-like rooftop seating vibes with vintagey surf beach decor, overlooking the plaza, close beach access and great for people watching. The staff was friendly throughout our visit and we were seated promptly with no wait time during an early weekend lunch. The food... We ordered the blue fin tuna poke, the presentation was very pretty but not what we expected for poke. It tasted more like a lemony fish ceviche and we were not a fan of the avocado mousse. We also ordered the 12hr short ribs with mashed potatoes and asparagus. This had also very nice presentation and nice flavor but the asparagus tips were not cut out properly so were very stringy and tough. Overall they offer fun vibes and have some nice weekend specials and fun events for various holidays. The entrance is on the side and you do have to walk up a staircase to access the variety of rooftop seating areas, so I'm not sure if they have handicap access. Also although there's plenty of metered parking but it is a busy area so the parking is always best left to luck or distance. I will probably visit again and try other food items before judging based on what we ordered alone but definitely recommend for the fun beach vibe alone.

I've been coming here for years, enjoying both the meals and the bar. It's the perfect spot to chill, with a great ambience whether you want outside seating, the bar, or the comfy couches. They host live bands occasionally, which adds to the festive Hermosa vibe without ever feeling loud or overwhelming. I tried a new dish called the Woodfired Garlic Shrimp with garlic bread. I wasn't sure what it was called at first, but I looked it up and found it's the Woodfired Garlic Shrimp. It reminded me a bit of a similar dish I've had at BJ's, but they nailed it, delicious and flavorful! Tower 12 consistently delivers on ambience and flavor, making it a go-to for a reliable good time.

Waited over an hour to get our table text to be told it was a mistake and told it was an automated text and there we're still 9 parties ahead of is! Horrible customer service. Probably doesn't matter because of their location.

Do they still serve the giant mimosas?

Yup! Saturday and Sunday

Are they ever bringing back the socialbowl drinks? :(

Hi Marilyn~ It's funny you asked this today b/c we JUST added them back to the menu at 4pm today. We've brought back the 90oz Moscow Mule and 2 of the 48oz Social Bowls. Hope to see you soon, cheers!

Do they have veggie burgers?

Good morning Alan. I do not know if they have veggie burgers but, I would call them and ask... happy Sunday!

Does the kitchen close Before 2am?

On the weekends (especially in the summer) the kitchen will open until around 1a; never 2a though.

Do you guys do bottle service similar to how bungalow has it?

Do you have to have the shots to dine?

No, you can dine and order whatever you like

Is the dance floor open or can you at least walk around the place?

You can. It might be crowded

Is there still happy hour?

How is the store operating during COVID?

Everyone has to get their temperature take downstairs at the host table. While seated you can take off your mask but it has to stay on when you're standing up. The tables…

Do they have Happy hour menu? What time H.H starts?

Yes, we have Happy Hour Monday-Friday, 3-6pm featuring discounted appetizers, double sized draft beers for the price of a pint, double sized cocktails for the price of a single, half off shots, half off bottled/canned beer and discounted wine.…

Is there brunch on Sundays?

Hello Hector! Currently, we don't have brunch, BUT, we are launching a brand new weekend brunch menu on Sat, 8/25. So yes, we will have brunch in just a few weeks.…

Do you guys have Happy Hour speicals?

Yes. Tower 12 has an excellent happy hour. The food options great. Unfortunately, the beer specials are the super, extra large schooner fish bowls. "Super-size" This doesn't really work for me.

What's the corkage fee for your place?

What are the dinner hours during the week?

Don't know. But we always go there around 5ish to enjoy happy hour deal and get a table easier.

Is there an area that is dog friendly?

Yes, we love dogs and we allow them on the patio.

Do they do any sort of brunch specials on the weekend?

Not yet but they assured me its coming. They said they are working on it. I'm there often and it is usually the first question I ask before ordering a drink. lol

Is this place officially open yet?

Hello Kyle, Our Grand Opening is tomorrow (Thurs 3/9) at 5pm. Thanks!

I recently came in on a weekday before the dinner rush hour since the top floor tends to fill up QUICK. I'm a fan of their beer battered fish & chips, Korean BBQ chicken bites, and their Reuben (pleasant surprise). I've also heard the pub nachos are popular as well, but I haven't had the chance to try them. I just tried the house 'Henessey's Rita' w/Espero Blanco with blackberry puree. I've got to try the mango one later this summer! One of my favorite, underrated feat. of this restaurant is that they can give you water in a full to go cup if you ask. My boyfriend and I have been coming to this Hennessey's for over three years, and since moving to Hermosa Beach last year we've made Wednesday happy hour our weekly tradition. We genuinely loved coming here, and always looked forward to it. which makes this especially disappointing. Lately, we've received consistently poor service. On multiple visits, we've waited 15-20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us while watching tables around us get greeted and served promptly. I've even raised my hand, made eye contact, and said "Excuse me," only to be completely ignored. We're honestly at a loss for why this keeps happening. We're easy regulars--we order a couple of drinks and an appetizer every Wednesday, never send food back, never ask for anything extra, and my boyfriend almost always tips the highest suggested amount (except this last visit, which was the final straw). I've worked in restaurants myself, so I understand how busy things get, and how to be a respectful employee as well as patron. This doesn't feel like a simple mistake--it feels like we're being deliberately avoided, and it's honestly hurtful. Basic acknowledgment and courtesy shouldn't be too much to ask. We've had a couple of wonderful servers over the years, and this isn't about them. We also loved the food and drinks. It's about a pattern that's become impossible to ignore. We're genuinely sad, disappointed, and confused. We loved our Wednesday tradition, but after this last incident we are pressured into finding a new spot. We just wish we understood why loyal, respectful, low maintenance customers are being treated this way.

If you are looking for a restaurant with a large menu, you will be disappointed. Sure, portions of La La Land were filmed here, and they have some movie memorabilia in the back of the place but they offer far more than jazz here, if that is your impression. There is rock, reggae, salsa, lots of tribute bands, and other stuff. While this may have once been purely a jazz club, I am certain the market simply won't carry (most) strictly jazz places for very long. Based on one photo I saw on the wall, this place has been around for about 76 years. That is impressive. For jazz aficionados, they offer a three hour Sunday jazz brunch (and this is the only time when folks under 21 can enter, by the way). For brunch, there are only four food items available on the menu: a breakfast burrito, avocado toast, one pancake (singular, not plural) and bacon, sausage, and eggs. Remember, you are here for the music, not the food. As for the food, my breakfast burrito was interesting. Knowing restaurants in California, it was probably cooked by a Latino gentleman but this looked like th emost Caucasian burrito of all time. It had chorizo, eggs, potatoes, and other stuff in it, and the tortilla had a nice cheesy skirt on it. It was also on the spicier side, which I enjoyed, but fair warning. I wasn't sure I was going to like it by its looks but I ate the whole thing. It was also a belly bomb and kept me satisfied for about 6 or 7 hours afterward. The avocado toast was actually very good and made with good quality bread. I thought the music was excellent. The members of the band (the John Kithcart Quartert) played their assess off and really seemed to enjoy themselves. True jazz (not that soft elevator music gunk) was popular at one time but let's face it, it is not popular anymore. Jazz certainly can be enjoyed as background music while you enjoy your one pancake but it is certainly not intended to be enjoyed that way. To fully appreciate it, you have to pay attention to it. That doesn't seem too much of an ask. After all, it is the folks on the stage who are doing the hard work. Our server was very good. She was friendly and attentive. My only experience here is with the Sunday jazz brunch so I cannot speak for the venue at any other times. At least for the Sunday brunch, whether you like jazz or not, this place is well worth a try.
