I absolutely love this lifted bar that overlooks the Hermosa square. Their drinks, food and dessert make me happy. It's hard to beat....except when they do not let your friend in because he's in a lululemon jacket and casual attire. Perhaps because he was boisterous (which I would understand) but the explanation given was due to his outfit, and that is no bueno. So please, Tower 12 by the beach with people wearing bikinis and jeans and broken sandals - let my friends in with their 'athletic' attire on, they view their day drinking as a sport and simply dressed for the occasion! read more

I had meatballs (far from delish although crushed red pepper would've helped but never arrived) & garlic bread with an arugala, fennel & parmesan salad (decent) and my sister had the waldorf salad made with iceberg, really? I came in to Tower 12 Thursday night and to be honest my experience started off bad. I won't go into details but it was not good. After talking to the manger Will and him explaining everything that was going on I began to feel better. After being there for an hour Will turned a bad night into a night I will never forget. Not kid friendly?!?! I wish I would have known kids were not very welcome before I went there. My kids are older, so I didn't think twice about bringing them with me to have lunch. We were stopped by a bouncer (a bouncer at 12 noon?!?!?!) who had to contact the manager to notify the staff that minors were being let inside the restaurant? I found that very odd. In any case, the meatballs and pretzel bites were excellent. The pork ribs and pizza were also very good. The mixed drinks were very good. Our waitress was not very attentive, but I am not sure if it was because she was busy with the customers sucking down drinks, or because they were not happy we had minors?!?!?! This place has great atmosphere and decor, it's very cute and cozy. Drinks can get a little pricey but nothing out of the ordinary. Food is good although I haven't tried too many things on their menu. The weekend can get very crowded. It usually has a bit of a line to get in so your best bet is to get there early if you want to spend your night there in the Hermosa area. Inside also has some arcade machines if you're into that. All in all, it's recommendable but again, timing can make a difference. read more

This was a great bar to go to. I liked the fire display along the upper balcony. The servers were great both nights that I stayed in Hermosa Beach. I stayed at the Sea Sprite and they gave us a free drink vouchers for Tower 12 for both nights. Which was a nice discount when getting multiple drinks. Excellent service. The atmosphere is pretty good for drinking. But, dining there is a bad idea. My wife ordered a Korean BBQ for $23. It was done by someone who did not know how to cook Korean cut meat. My wife is familiar with Korean BBQ and did not finish the dish. We understand we cannot expect the real Korean BBQ at a Hermosa bar. I was frustrated with my BBQ brisket for $17. It's American BBQ. There's no excuse why their brisket had to be like a soft rubber. Honestly, it was one of the worst BBQ I ever had in my life. Again, it's a great place to drink. Little did I know it was the manager, Will who brought my food. He went out of his way, without me asking, and went next door and got me chips. Who does that? Tower 12 is amazing!! The food and drinks are delicious! My husband and I went there tonight for an early dinner. We loved the pretzel knots and the Philly cheesesteak poppers. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We went to bar while we were waiting for a table and the bartender, Brock, was the best. I've been here twice since coming to Hermosa for the month of July. First visit spouse and I and two teens had chairs along the rail overlooking the main drag. Great people watching over lunch. Our server recommended the fried chicken sandwich. It was very juicy chicken with excellent toppings. It was well thought out by the chef that put it together. We also had the beet salad which was phenomenal. We had a vegetarian with us and appreciated that your menu highlighted these options. My second visit was by myself after the Comedy and Magic show on a Sunday night. They had a 4 piece reggae band. The electric guitar player Lucas Gutierrez was exceptional. I ordered the Burrata toast and prosciutto di San Daniele. It was a one slice thick piece. Perhaps serving the grilled toast with the other topping separate would have made this easier to eat. The prosciutto was of excellent quality as were the heirloom tomatoes the Burrata didn't taste quite right to me and I told my bar server. A manager was there in seconds, offering me a re-do or something else. I observed many managers with headsets keeping an eye on everything here. During a band break the house music kept the crowd going. When the band came back it was Up a notch with them pulling in a sax and trumpet. Magical is the word to describe the vibe. Age range 20-60. I felt comfortable here by myself sitting at the bar. The decor is a history of Hermosa beach. They should offer a guided tour of the relics during off hours. The restaurant is very clean including bathrooms. You can tell their staff has extensive training and that the mgmt cares about every detail. read more

As far as the nightlife goes at Tower 12, I've always had nothing short of a pleasurable experience. The employees/security working the front door are friendly, professional and accommodating, especially when I've seen firsthand the trouble and drama they've had to deal with before. Heaps of reckless drunkards late at night, trying to force/argue their way in, but the doormen, most notably a man by the name of Arturro, consistently keep calm and simply do their job. Highly recommend if looking for a social and lively bar, or even just a relaxed time with some drinks. read more

Being a hermosa beach local and supporting locals bars, I'll never come back here again as long as they are still hiring terrible bar tenders who rip people off. Cute little place with beachy decor. Came here at 3:30 pm on cinco de mayo (Saturday) and it was a 3 minute wait at the door. Bouncer was a bit strange. Looked at my ID and then asked if I'm 21. I said yes without thinking anything of it but then he asked my friends to show another source of ID to ensure their license isn't fake. Strange but didn't bother us since we were hangry. The bar area is extremely crowded but once we asked a hostess for a table, we got seated right away, away from the crowd. Food and drink prices are reasonable. They dress their drinks up so cute! And their food is outstanding! I was actually surprised it wasn't bar food. My friends got the pastrami sandwich, blue burger, tower burger and I got the beach chicken sandwich. Everything was cooked with great flavors and don't sleep on the ranch! So delicious. Their thick and thin house fries was addicting. Their portion size is just right. Service was pretty good and noise is average. They also had a bunch of tv screens (we were watching the playoffs). I must say they have the worlds smallest restroom ever. Been to tower 12 a few times. It is crowded later in night. I love the happy hour and try to go in more at that time. When it was busy I had a server named Brittany and she did a great job and made me feel that I was being taking care of and would check in to make sure we had everything we needed. I'm a regular here but the bouncers are so respectful. I came here with my mom and my uncles and went on a bike ride and came back and the bouncers would not let us in. We spent a lot of money here before and came back and they refused to let our family in. I was so embarrassed to share that this was my favorite place. Kellan was our server the first time and she was fantastic but I don't think I can go back here again due to the discrimination against my family. It's truly a shame.
