    Beautiful painting on the restaurant

Location is everything, we have tried coming here a couple times for breakfast but the wait can get long on weekends. We came by on a week day and were sat right away. The host was very friendly and inviting. The service was great. Topped off our coffees a few times throughout our visit. The blueberry pancakes were what I came for, I'd give them a 8/10. Wish they had more blueberries but other than that it was great! Hubby said his food was a 10/10 and would definitely come back !

This place has a variety of food options for breakfast. The food is not greasy and it comes out fairly quick. This is a great spot to visit if you want breakfast before or after a beach walk! Today I got pancakes. They come out plain so ask to add fruits/sugar if you like that over your pancakes! The breakfast burrito was also good and clean. Our waiter was Kate and she was friendly :)

Martha's is an almost perfect breakfast spot. Heck, even lunch. Food is solid, staff is usually helpful and friendly (usually, though we've observed a few bad days with the staff). Great location. Short walk to the beach after your meal. Go early or prepare to wait a bit. I'd say 15-20 mins for a couple and double for a larger party than 4.

If you're anywhere near the Strand, do yourself a favor and stop by Martha's 22nd Street Grill. This place is a true Hermosa Beach staple -- and yes, it's always packed for a reason. Between the ocean air drifting in and the option for indoor or outdoor seating, it's the perfect spot to soak in a classic California sun while enjoying an incredible meal. The atmosphere feels effortlessly coastal -- relaxed, welcoming, and full of good energy. The staff is genuinely amazing. Even when they're busy (which is almost always), they're attentive to every detail and make you feel taken care of from start to finish. The menu has a huge variety, so whether you're craving something indulgent or protein-packed, they've got you covered. Portions are generous and everything tastes incredibly fresh. The Eggs Manhattan? Poached to absolute perfection -- rich, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. And the Steak and Eggs bowl is tender, hearty, and packed with protein power. You definitely won't leave hungry. Martha's is more than brunch -- it's a Hermosa tradition. Highly recommend!

My Saturday breakfast group loves Martha's but weekends are always very crowded. We thought since it was overcast the place wouldn't be busy. WRONG assumption but luckily we got a table after 10 minutes. They were very busy but we had a server we've known for a long time. I had the vegetable omelet and one friend had the Thai scramble. Two people had the abc omelet and the other the white corn scramble. The abc omelet people said that was the most bacon they've ever seen and were very happy. Corn scramble person loved her omelet. Unfortunately the Thai scramble recipe had been changed with added cabbage which made the eggs cold. My omelet was packed with vegetables and was delicious. Service was good considering how busy it was. Still love this place.

Wonderful, quaint spot in HB! Nice patio, good views, great service. Reasonable prices and delicious food for breakfast or lunch! Had a guava mimosa and 1/2 sand (turkey), soup (chicken cilantro) special. Short walk next to beach!

First time trying Martha's and it was great! We had mimosas and ordered the white corn scramble and stuffed French toast to share and they were both so good! Service was great and fast. I love the ambience, it's right by the beach and they have inside and outside seating. Also plenty of metered street parking!

Yum! Great food and cute beachy vibe. I've been by this place a few times after some friends recommended and it's always super busy. I got my butt up early on the weekend though and finally made it before the crowd. Most of the seating is outside on the covered patio and service was quick and friendly. Opted for their signature white corn scramble and it was delicious! You can't get out of here for under $20pp so it's on the pricey end for brunch, but definitely worth the treat!

Breakfast salad, Oreo pancakes, French toast with, and chicken sandwich. Yummy!!

Family meet up for breakfast at Martha's on a perfect day in Hermosa Beach. Still great food and wonderful service from happy people and a great way to start the day without the weekend crush.

    Chorizo Sweet Potato Hash

Dined on a Tuesday around 1:00 pm. Our server was sweet, but did not check in on us often. We had to track her down to ask for a box after paying the tab. Their menu here is pretty varied, just not a lot of options for someone who is gluten & dairy free. Ended up ordering the chorizo sweet potato hash. It was good, but nothing super special. I was not expecting the chorizo to be hard sausage chunks. I guess I imagined soft ground chorizo. All and in, the food was decent. But service was a miss unfortunately. Would return to give them another chance!

Oh Martha. We gotta have a talk girl. What is going on? I stopped by on a Sunday about 11:30ish for a party of 2. We got sat pretty quickly as this place was busyyyy. busyyy worker bees. Everyone was wanting to get a seat at Martha's! I only waited about 20 minutes if that. Not too shabbyyyy ! I started with an iced Spanish latte as I love my Spanish lattes. This is where everything started going downhill. First sip, questionable. Second sip, even more questionable. Mix the coffee with the straw for a minute, another sip, even worse. It tasted like I was drinking the water from a burnt coffee bean with a hint of cinnamon. It was NOT good. I was very sad. I ended up ordering an iced chai latte as a secondary choice.. because how hard is it to mess up a chai? WELP. It was managed to be messed up as well. How?! Martha girl, who was making the drinks this day, cause nuh uh, more training now. The iced chai latte was watery. It did not resemble a chai at all, even the color was weird. I took 2 sips and never finished either drink. I had my counterpart try it-- mind you, I took a sip and gave no reaction to not bias my counterpart. Once they tried it, they were just as astonished to how horrible both drinks were. They ordered the banana bread latte. oh my-lanta. Artificial, sweet, sour banana flavor, he had it switched out for a blended pump shake that was much better-- REALLY sweet, but they loved it. For the breakfast option, I ended up ordering the huevos playa. The hashbrowns were cooked evenly and tender. The sauce/salsa it was sitting in. not it. you're not that guy pal. tasted like pace salsa from a jar or something. that weird salsa taste that makes you aware that it is not home made. I did not like it whatsoever. The sour cream, guac and eggs were the only thing I enjoyed out of this dish. I would not order this again. The cinnamon pancake was the only thing that saved the experience, but even then, $17 for a singular pancake is absolutely insane. Overall, I was extremely, and I mean extremely, disappointed. I wish it lived up to all the social media hype that is around, but my taste buds were extremely unhappy leaving. Service was great, the lady removed the banana bread latte off our bill for not liking it, but I stayed with my 2 awful drinks. I ended up going to a coffee shop to fill my Spanish latte cravings after leaving. Parking is on the street, metered. fills up FAST.

Martha's been here for decades. Good luck if you think you can eat here on the weekend. I think what it is, is that it's half a block from the beach. I could see the sand from where I was sitting. I came during the week, in the morning. The metered parking is free before 10AM. There were plenty of tables available around 8AM. Gentleman who worked there said I could choose to sit at any empty table. Tables are close to one another. I ordered a latte with oat milk and an avocado toast. The problem with this place is that the food looks better than it tastes. There were fresh ingredients on my avocado toast, but nothing special. I don't understand why it's always so crowded when the food is average. By the way, there are fly deterrents on every table outdoors. There was a noticeable amount of flies flying around while I was eating. Service was good.

I had a pretty solid positive outlook on them. I ordered the "French Toast Latte". I feel like it should have been called the Burnt toast latte. I genuinely took 3 sips and tossed it away in the trash can on the side walk. I tried to mix it and grabbed a straw to do so and it made it WORSE. I'm extremely disappointed that I wasted $7 on a latte. I've had bad coffees before, but this one took the cake. It tasted like milk, and the espresso tasted acidic, burnt have you. At least with other bad coffees I could stomach at least half of it but this was just really acidic. I noticed other people mentioning the coffee scene in LA isn't the same anymore and this attested to that. They started picking up foot traffic & I wasn't going to wait to ask for a remake or anything, I took the L and life moves on. I wasn't going to play Karen about it. The Lamington pastry somewhat saved the experience. This was an extremely moist, spongy, sweet cake that was delicious with coconut flakes on top. She was AMAZING. I snagged a piece off my friends and it was reeallllly good. I would recommend if you like coconut and a softer spongy cake like pastry! Talk about the underdog in this trip. The aesthetic is cute, it's clean and resembles a house. I like the scheme they have going on. The other half looks like a gift shop that I did not go into. They have a restroom available as well inside. Customer service was just customer service. Nothing amazing or bad about it. Pretty standard. We mentioned it's our first time & the girl didn't really care lol. We had questions and it was very whatever kind of vibe. No enthusiasm. Parking would be on the street so good luck!

Two of us ordered the Buddha vegan bowl (9/10; quinoa was fluffy, tofu was tasty but a little firm for me, everything else about it was fresh and well-done. The mushroom serving was my favorite part.) My friend ordered the Beef Macro bowl (9/10: beef was the best part and everything else was good. The wild rice was tender; but it tastes "healthy"). My last friend ordered the salmon bowl (9/10: all of us raved about the salmon. Had the same wild rice. I liked it but my friend said it was too soft for her. The rest of the items that came with it were similar and tasty). Before I left, Molly helped me order a mushroom reishi hot chocolate drink. Molly was so sweet and helpful. She recommended the homemade almond milk. (8/10). The ambiance was warm and cozy. I loved the multi-level structure. Therefore, the name, "The Hive". Food would come out of the kitchen and onto the counter in different orders so within the same party, someone's sandwich would be made before another person's lettuce. This means the food got mixed up on the counter and while I was waiting, witnessed three people's orders get mixed up. Again they were nice about it but not a good system. We ordered a turkey salad and a Parisian baguette, first off my salad had a lot of old lettuce in it. The fresh ingredients tasted just ok, like low tier super market brand food. From a culinary standpoint, the salad could've benefited from sliced almonds or something crunchy. The Parisian baguette bread was very hard tough, with a decent amount of ham, but not enough spread or cheese.. The cashier did admit that they don't bake their own items instead a "fresh "delivery shows up every morning. I will not be coming back, but I wish them the best.
