We've been here a couple of times and this is the first review. Previous experience was better but this one turned me off to them. I ordered the chicken pannini, it was supposed to be blackened chicken. Came out with sliced, processed cold cut chicken that was given a quick grill. I cannot have processed meats due to allergies and it's a good thing I noticed before eating. After pointing it out to our waitress she said I must have gotten someone else's meal. When I finally received the correct one the chicken was nasty. Tasted like it went from the freezer to to griddle and there was no blackened seasoning. I only ate half. The staff is very welcoming. The round table we were sat at was very big, I don't see that often. This is one of the few diners that does have free refills, this is a plus for me since I tend to drink a lot and love soda. I noticed that several items on the menu had Latino cuisine influences, those were my favorite dishes. I ordered the tamarindo wings and the sauce was absolutely delicious. The wings were a bit cold, but they were so good I let that slide. The spiciness didn't hit until I was 3 wings in. It had a sweet and spicy taste. I ordered the Tex Mex Burger, it was decent. Everything in the burger was good, but the chorizo was a disappointing. It lacked taste. My friend ordered a chocolate milkshake and it was bland. I could tell that it's just chocolate syrup and milk with whip cream. One thing that stood out was they have a juice bar section in the menu, with a large selection of different fruits and vegetables. Good fresh food. Standard Diner fare served by courteous and attentive wait staff. The lentil soup which accompanied the daily specials was a meal in itself. My wife got a fried fish sandwich as good as any to be found at the shore - so big she couldn't finish it. We will definitely be back here. read more

This place is horrendous. The waitress was snarling if we asked that our bread be toasted. The food had no taste at all. Coffee lousy. I used to not be a big fan of the diner but over the past 2 years or so their has been a huge leap in quality of their food. I ordered a gyro omelette and was surprised by how good it was. The Menu is big, but not too large that it's hard to decide what you want. I am looking forward to trying more items on the menu that look appetizing. read more

Really just below average. Been spending the past few years coming here when we want diner food. We order in sometimes once a week. At least 30times you have left out items or messed up orders. Never once has this establishment genuinely apologized or compensated. The audacity to leave out the main ingredient in my daughters salad tonight and when we called, you pretty much say, "oops sorry". That's disgusting to charge $11 for lettuce and quinoa with nothing else. You should be appalled that your kitchen is so horrific they can't even get the salad dressing right. We go here instead of americana because the food is more relaxed american diner style. Always had a problem with the way they make their potatoes but everything else I've eaten here for breakfast has been good. I had a gido plate and greek plate. We went for dinner tonight with the kids. The kids meals are over priced and don't come with a drink or dessert. I paid more for my two kids them I did for my husband and I! That is ridiculous. The service was great and food was good. I wouldn't go back with my kids due to the over priced kids meal. First time I had to pay extra for drink. Best in the area but not good at all. East windsor has no great diners so this place is kind of the only option. Americana tries to hard not to be a true diner so I am not counting them. Management does not offer a senior discount, but that is probably because they are trying to attract a younger drinking crowd.. The first two pages of the menu list alcoholic beverages, very few food specials and prices higher than their competition. I would only go back for breakfast or lunch. At dinner here with my mother and grandma and the staff is absolutely deplorable. The entire time we were here, multiple members of staff sat at the bar loudly talking to each other. I felt like I was in high school. Very childish and unprofessional behavior. Grouped up talking about their hair and after work plans it was honestly just annoying. The host placed us in the first booth right next to them shouting. If staff is going to utilize that corner to yell across at each other and carry on, do not place patrons there to eat. We were told it was a 20-min wait and seated within 15. No drinks for 15 minutes and waitress had different priorities than we wanted, but food was tasty - excellent crispy fries, cole slaw, au jous with the roast beef sandwich, chicken panini and bleu cheese dressing - and arrived within a reasonable length of time. Waitress was distracted often and uneven, including telling us she could take out drink order but not our dinner order because another table had been waiting, even though they had received two rounds of drinks. I choose to go to town diner above the other diners in the area simply because of the unique menu. No where else have I ever seen French toast coated in a cereal of your choice or a muffaletta burger. We had to wait 30 minutes for eggs and when we questioned delay we were told there were only 2 cooks (it's a Saturday morning). When the meal finally arrived, my egg white omelette was runny, had to send back. Finally had meal and after I took first bite realized they used frozen broccoli. From the coffee to meal there was not one positive aspect of the entire meal. Even my son's French toast was bland. When my husband went to pay bill, he spoke to the woman behind the register to air his grievances and she couldn't be bothered or at least comp our mediocre coffee. I'm glad this place reopened and is still great for a good meal. I haven't had a problem with service, though I don't usually go during peak hours. The one time we had to wait to be seated, the funny waiter (should catch his name next time) explained that it was due to the weather (rain = beach plans ruined = everyone goes to the diner) and even warned us that ordering certain things would take longer in case we did not want to stay long. He also suggests when we should stop ordering so we don't feel gross and full at the end of the meal. I typically go for pancakes which are a generous serving portion and delicious. The sausage or bacon on the side are tasty and fruits inside are not mush. I love their fries! Other meals are good too and I'll definitely go back. read more

I am not one to write reviews but I was so unhappy with my experience here. First, the table we sat at was dirty that my mother took a napkin and cleaned it. 2/5 cups had something in them as well. Then, no one came to our table until 15 minutes later (after we said something). On top of this, my table asked for 2 milkshakes and the waitress gave us attitude for it. Don't even try going into the bathroom... it reeked of pee. So, clearly the bathrooms aren't being cleaned/ checked up on. Worst meal I've had in a long time. read more

We drive past this place all the time and decided to try it because of all the reviews. We were very happy with our food. I got a lunch sized chicken parm meal which came with soup. The chicken and rice soup was very good. The chicken parm was tender and the marinara sauce was very good. My husband got breakfast. Pancakes were yummy. Was a decent restaurant. Wait staff was agreeable. For some reason waiter came to fill mine and my dad's coffee three times each rather than leaving a pot on the table which would have been simple enough. Food was alright. I ordered the Monte Carlo panini which was a good choice, but side coleslaw was a little too sweet. The place was also nearly empty, which almost stopped us from coming in. While it is a big location, it's hard to want to eat at a diner if its close to empty, maybe the location is simply too big! read more

My wife and I have been coming here since they opened as the Town Diner, it was good, then it got a little iffy for a while and now it is FANTASTIC!!!! Best diner in Mercer county and it is not even close. I hate to admit it, but we eat here probably twice a week, once on the way home from work and we always have breakfast there over the weekends. Everything is delicious but I have to recommend the Ultimate Fritatta( shrimp and artichokes, may not sound good but it is DELICIOUS!), the Salmon Benedict, their Rubens are the best around. Also they have started having dinner specials during the week and they have added snapper to the specials every once in a a while, its been cooked a few different ways and each of them has been wonderful. We were recommended to try this diner by family. So in the mood for a diner experience, we came in the other night. We got seated fairly quickly. Our waiter Nick was very helpful and attentive with drink refills. I had the chicken francaise and my husband had roast turkey breast. We both had chicken rice soup. I loved that it was chock full of veggies, chicken and rice in a nice broth. We also had fresh bread instead of garlic knots. My chicken was very nice and pounded thin with a light coating, great lemon sauce and the asparagus was perfectly cooked. Hubby enjoyed his turkey. However it didn't stand out for him. I would like to try a seafood dish and salad another time. Umfortunately they were out of cheesecake. . A diner staple.
